The Best. The food was exceptional!
Simple, comfortable, friendly, excellent food, attentive service
A very nice place to stay, with little touches that make it a pleasant stay
A beautifully restored small chateau. tastefully done; an excellent meal; very friendly owners and staff. We'll be back!
Pool, setting in a historic town, welcome, friendly owners Shower is difficult to use
Ideal location, welcoming staff, and comfortable accommodation - would certainly return Unfortunately the restaurant was not open, but the one recommended was excellent and we understand owned by the hotel and within easy reach.
great location, fabulous food...and very attractive village on your doorstep
Chateau style building, nice pool and bar. Good food. First floor rooms much bigger than second. Carpets a bit shabby in public areas.
We received a very warm welcome at this lovely hotel
the country side are quite and comfortable. not so convenience in the neighborhood
Nice and quiet location close to beauticul places like La Roque Gageac. Definitely recommended for couples. Very nice terrasse and food.
We loved this place. It was full of old world charm and the food was wonderful. The service was good and we would certainly return.
Very friendly. The family room was a little basic, but comfortable and clean. Frank the Maitre-D was wonderful! The food was superb! Only that there was no door or curtain that separated the shower & sink room to the bedroom. This was in the family room. The hotel was surrounded by trees that put the hotel in the shade at certain times during the day. They really could do with being cut back a little. Almost jungle-like.
the most fun we have had in years laughed so much franc oliver the owner was the nicest funniest sweetest man ever he went out of his way with the food beacuase of my food allergies and the meals were superb would highly recomend the hotel merci franc xx
The Area Need a bit of French knowledge as menu is in French with no English translation and my French was not enough to help but was not a bad thing on hotels part as they could speak a little English but could help people to know before booking.
The welcome, the service and friendliness of staff and the overall cleanliness of the hotel; quality of the food
The beautiful terrace and easy parking overloooking the river Dordogne. The friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. The excellent position for visiting this lovely area. Rooms were poorly lit and gloomy. The furnishings were basic and could have been much improved at small cost with a little imagination. The advertised wifi only worked in the dining room. We stayed for a week, but after poor steaks the first night did not eat there again.
Very friendly and accomodating owner.
The hotel's setting was ideal - very central to the area we wished to explore and quietly located. The restaurant, terrace and all communal areas were well appointed, and the room price was very reasonable. The hotel has electric toilets, which could have been a problem at night with inconsiderate fellow guests. However, we were lucky. We did not like the plastic shower, although it worked well (good flow) and was very clean. With a small outlay (notably on new bedspreads and towels) this hotel could be in another league.
The hotel is charming: bedrooms and bathrooms are simple but sufficient and comfortable, and I had a lovely view over the vine-covered terrace. Parking is readily available within a short walking distance. The main attractions of the hotel are the very personable and accommodating young couple that runs it and the cuisine! The husband is the Chef and the menu was varied and delicious. Dining on the open-air terrace was very pleasant and always well-attended with people from our hotel, other hotels in the region and travellers passing through. Our friends who live in the region also know the hotel for its cuisine so it has developed a well-deserved reputation in the three years this couple has been running it.
It is a nice establishment with a lovely terrace for dining in a quaint old building. The food and service were very good. The staff was very helpful. The room was a little small.
It has the best restaurant we ate in during our week in France. Exceptional value for the standard of food. Would have no problem in reccommending. Very friendly staff.
The professional running of the Hotel by the owners, who were kind cosiderate and very helpful. The food was the best we had ever experienced we would definately go there again and spread the word. No
Calm area with sphere. Delicous dinner. Madrass in bed is not bad, but it coud have a better comfort.
The location within the pedestrian area of the village with easy access to the amenities No car park, not a problem for us, but maybe in summer could be difficult for non locals
Hotel is situated in a quiet village but within easy reach of many Dordogne attractions. There are a couple of excellent gourmet restaurants of excellent value nearby - one just a short walk. Very welcoming host who could not have been more helpful.
Charming boutique hotel. Conveniently located. Very quiet. Excellent service.
Family run by charming couple - very helpful. The village has limited options for eating out on foot. We only stayed for one night and did find an excellent restaurant. Finding somewhere different for a second night might have been more challenging.
The hotel was well located in the centre of the village. The decor was in keeping with the historical significance of the hotel and the village.
We really enjoyed our stay there. The hotel owners were very friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable and clean, and the hotel's location was great for exploring the Perigord region.
The hotel proprietor was very friendly, and the atmospher was very good
the size of the room no wash basin in the toilet
Lovely room - great views. The Patron was excellent - she took interest in our stay and gave helpful advice. Breakfasts were excellent.
The hotel had been very sympathetically restored and the decor was excellent. The hotel owner was extremely pleasant and helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. Breakfast was very good.
The facilities were outstanding , exceptionally clean and the hotel staff were very, very welcoming and pleasant The hotel was situated by a road but rooms were facing away from the road.
The helpfulness of the staff and immediate response to requests.Food was excellent
The covered pool and the grounds were lovely - ideal for a family. The food in the restaurant was superb and reasonably priced. The hotel was close to the main road but it was not a problem at night. There was no air conditioning in the room which was not a problem as it was raining and cool.
Very quiet at this time of year. Food was excellent. Friendliness of staff.
Friendly welcoming staff Located beside a main road although there was no traffic at night
Looked lovely and dinner was delicious. Dutch owners very offhand and unwelcoming. No tea/coffee facilities and only 1 small bottle of water for two people in the room. Shower not very clean. Coffee after dinner - were charged an extra 40cents for milk !!!!! When we enquired what was for breakfast and told it would be ham and cheese with croissants we were not expecting sliced processed cheese in a country renown for its cheeses - 3 slices, plus a slice of ham cut into two, watered down orange juice and having to ask for a second cup of coffee - a flask of coffee to take away was chargeable (first time ever).
Very friendly Dutch owners. Considering this is a two star hotel, unexpectedly high standard. The food is great, the Chef an artist! Enchanting little village, definitely worth the trip.
Absolutely wonderful food and very friendly owners. Very peaceful small village in beautiful countryside. They really do deserve to suceed
right in the middle of dordogne country. villages chateaus canoeing walking.it was perfect not realy it was pipiculy french
We were welcomed to the hotel as individuals, and not just a couple who had interrupted a receptionist from, no doubt, more important things to do. Our presence in the hotel was always acknowledged, and made us feel important as individuals, and that the hotel staff had a concern in our wellbeing. None really. A lift would have been helpful, but it's absence didn't create undue difficulty for us. Slightly wobbly chair in bedroom - joints needed re-gluing.
Our welcome and that the man spoke very good English. Everything was very clear, the breakfast was excellent and the room very clean and air conditioning was very welcome! Our double bed seemed rather more like a three quarter one and for two adults did seem small.
The food was excellent. There was an airco in the room, what is great in the summer. The restaurant was haut cuisine, but a little odd since the quality of the hotel / rooms did not match.
The room was spacious. The hotel itself a little old, but nicely kept. The surroundings are spectacular.
very friendly / excellent situation / good service
The food was excellent. The dinner was good quality and well priced and the breakfast was simple but very generous. The ensuite facilities were extremely cramped and very basic. I am sure that 'large' people would have great difficulty there.
Excellent value for money Furnishings a little old and tired. Limited restaurant facilities in the village.
The location was good being near the centre of the village. The room was large with dual aspect. Good friendly restaurant where one could eat outside .
Pleasant staff and the hotel is situated in a lovely location - can recommend to anyone. N/A
Wonderfully cheerful staff. The atmosphere felt like being in a house, not a hotel. A joyful experience - thoroughly recommend it.
Pleasant friendly staff , very helpful about parking advice and other more obscure queries, Good central position.
As family with 2 children, 9yrs and 7 yrs old, the family room was very large and comfortable. The reception was friendly and helpful. Would bring my family back again, as it was good value for money.
