Pros: The food was excellent, and the spa was a great place to relax after riding up the Col Agnel.
Pros: Located in a small town just before the approach to the Col Agnel, gateway to Italy. Friendly couple. Comfortable beds. Modern, large, lift. Spa and swimming pool ! Lovely terrace with views up to the mountains. Nice assortment of amenities-slippers, bathrobes, etc. Reasonably priced restaurant with local specialities-tartiflette, raclette, etc. Decent breakfast. Spacious bathroom, great shower.
Cons: Just a few parking spaces on asphalt. Most are on gravel and not suitable for sports cars.
When you stay at Hotel & Spa L'Alta Peyra in Saint-Veran, you'll be in a regional park and steps from Queyras Regional Natural Park. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: Good location by the ski slopes, good breakfast but all the rest was appealing. Dirty hotel, no WiFi, very poor service with complacent staff.
Cons: The basics are missing. The hotel is dirty with dust all over the black carpets and our bedroom wasn’t done for 24h (we had to ask twice to get some cleaning service). The staff is extremely badly trained- a waiter poured a glass of ice cold water on my husband- he barely apologised and did not offer any help cleaning. Very loud music and radio in the spa and restaurants- people were waiting for ages to be able to pay as the payment systems were down. Lastly our bedroom (203) was located just above the administrative office- we could hear chairs rattling against the floor and footsteps from 10pm until 1am which prevented us from sleeping. Our skis were also misplaced and the staff had to look for it for 20min opening all the storage units. Given our disastrous experience we asked to talk with the newly arrived hotel manager Mr Alberti. He apologised and told us he knew about the bad service and property issues and said he would remedy our bad experience by compensating us. Since we were not able to sleep properly 1 night out of 2 we asked for the refund of the second night. He said he would consider it and let us know he next day. We went him all the pictures of our dirty bedroom and wet accident with the waiter. Not only did he never replied to our email but he said he was unavailable to meet with us. The hotel is way overpriced £700 for 2 nights- with no WiFi (which we badly needed to call family in Paris caring for our young child), no cleaning of our bedroom, noise disturbance etc. This is an hotel to avoid- Chalet Villars next door are half he price and much nicer!
Pros: the breakfast on the balcony.....
Cons: the cleaner comes too late in the day.... the length between our bedroom and the reception hall...
Pros: The place is nuce, the hotel has a lot of amenities and the position/landscape around are remarkable.
Cons: The service is poor, inadequate to the level of the structure. We arrived at 6pm and we had to wait one hour before getting the room. Then the room was still messy, with wrinkle towels, dirty shower and a welcome sweets that look “used”. And the service was poor during all our stay. People don’t speak English and don’t even try to, breakfast was often a mess, with fewer waiters compared to what needed to accomplish guests’ needs and there is very little flexibility in what you can ask.
Pros: Unsurpassed view and general location. Great sweeming pool
Cons: Disappointment of the closed gastronomic restaurant
