I did not realize that I had booked a room at the salvation army's homeless dormatory. Most of the other guest seemed to be homeless backpackers. The bed was good.
Good price, clean room, easy parking, close to everything we wanted to do friendly staff.
A room marked as non-smoking smelled so badly of smoke, I could hardly breathe. Also there were old cigarette burns everywhere. No hairdryer.
Gave me an upgraded hotel for same price
They were overbooked and got no warning. And the upgrade hotel was not much better weird smell
AC and the shower worked well.
Underneath a freeway. Pretty sleezy, also had a lot of people smoking and making out in cars, etc. Refrigerator wasn't working. Had a cigarette burn on the counter in a non smoking room. Said freewifi but is 5.00 a day. Lady told us we need to come out by 12pm then the front desk said it was 11pm when she called at 12. ?????
-The bed quality was awfull. I didn't sleep well on it. My back hurt me when I wake up the morning. - The front desk was impolite with me. - I booked a room for 2 days, and they cancelled the second day in the morning without warning me because the hotel was already fully booked. This is unacceptable ! I had to find another hotel all the day
the second floor we stayed was nice.
the male in the front desk the older dark male was rude to me and others waiting in line.
Bugs bugs bugs. No hairdryer. No water in the second day
The thin walls made it possible to hear the trains and trolleys, clear sounds of cars driving overhead on two shade providing bridges. The ants in the room was a wonderful touch of wilderness indoors. The soothing sound of everyone showering or flushing sounds as if your listening to a majestic waterfall in a cave.
The floors were lacking more torn patches and dips, the uneven floors should be though out the room not just in some areas. The beds needed to be stiffer would like to feel like on rocks not the floor.
well........the pool had water in it
EVERYTHING! Good lord, what a dump! Under an overpass, right on the train tracks with homeless druggies everywhere. The room, only suitable for a 3rd world travels with NO other options
Lots of parking
Old. Need upgrading. Better beds. Rooms smell. Lots of drug addicts around. Smells like dog unine
Had to wait at least 15 minutes to check in and there was only one other person checking in. Two other employees were in the office area but they did not assist. Price I paid was over the rate posted in the room!
ac worked well, the location in relation to tourist sites is good, but the actual physical location is amongst a heavy homeless population.
office staff was terrible, ,rude upon check-in, and whenever I called the office it would take multiple attempts before they would pick up, once they picked up twice in a row only to lay the receiver down so it wouldn't ring - I could hear them talking while I waited on the other end, never answered, had to call back yet again, daily cleaning was on a cursory basis only, didn't change bed linens once during my stay, yipping dogs went on for hours at night, it seemed like a section 8 flop house.
Close to the trolley
AC in the room was broken, 90 degrees in the room all night. Bed was unbalanced and rocked whenever one of us would get up and go to the bathroom. Lots of transients
Close to trolley
Rooms STINK Crowded parking.
i liked the city nothing about this hotel. Check out Morley Field Disc golf course. Great course and club house that rents discs. Say hi to snappy while your there
Dirty, under bypass next to railroad, woke up to bed shaking while train going by. Oh did I say dirty and stinky.
My husband and I stayed 3 nights and it was a pretty good deal. Price was great. Overall was the room was pretty clean and comfortable there was some slight cosemetic wear in the walls and stuff but wasn't horrible and didn't bother me. Room was godhead size and air worked great. The staff were friendly, helpful, and polite. It is somewhat under an over pass but didn't really hear traffic or trains I am a sound sleeper though. It was pretty quiet and had a security guard walking around during the night which I liked. Free parking was nice and old town was near not super close but It was within walking distance if you were a walker.
The things I didnt like we're that it didn't have intrenet unless you paid but I used phone hotspot so not a biggie. Also no breakfast but does have a fridge so we went to store and bought food. Another thing is that the pool and hot tub close at 10 and we were just getting back at that time it would have been nice to close later or be open 24 hours. Also room upstairs no elevator so gotta take stuff up the stairs.
Size of the room
You have to Pay 5 dollars for the wifi and it doesnt work at all
location is great, close to public transportation and Old Town and every major freeway.
Not very clean, burn holes in the covers type of place. No in room iron or hairdryer. Very close to very loud trains that will blow horns and wake you.
You get what you pay for, a bed & a shower. Friendly staff. Close to many attractions, but the area is still kinda sketchy.
The parking lot is so tiny & difficult to navigate. The bed was pretty hard & the towels were rough. The periodic horn blast from the train was jarring at night.
Good price, 2 minutes from SeaWorld , 8 minutes from San Diego Zoo, 30 seconds from old town San Diego, friendly staff, clean, quiet, safe, free parking, nice pool,
Far walk to ice machine from my room
