Really great location. We went for a date night and were close to great restaurants, nightlife and the mall. Really loved the Victorian feel
Tiny room! No fridge in the room (sad to not store our dinner left overs)
The whole experience was great. The room was perfect for the 2 of us and the gas fireplace was wonderful. We had a great view as well. The downstairs courtyard was gorgeous and I wish we had taken advantage of it more. The location was ideak, walking distance from everything we wanted and needed to do. The staff was super friendly and the room service was great.
i would just suggest bigger pillows :)
Nice ambiance. Restaurant was great. Front desk service was very friendly.
Being near the convention center it was a bit noisy and rooms that face the center courtyard are subject to echo of conversation late at night.
Room nicely appointed and bed extremely comfortable
The valet needs to bring his coffee with him at 7am or drink before he leaves home. I had to rustle him up to make an 8am appointment.
location was nice. Common areas beautiful. Staff helpful. Overall clean. In general, happy with our 1 night stay too celebrate anniversary
Room on the small side, which was ok for our short stay, but not if you've got plenty of luggage. Some minor details could use touch ups (e.g., bottom corner of doors in bathroom chipped). Not sound proof.
I liked the location, the decor, the patio dining, food, staff, price.
I loved the whole experience! Friendly staff, helpful front desk and the rooms were SO beautiful! We will definitely be coming back :)
I didn't like how short my stay was...nothing you could do! When we had brunch, I feel as though we could have had faster service but other than that the food was yummy and the space was beautiful!
Clean, nice, and elegant hotel. Great location to Gaslamp District near bars and restaurants.
The hotel definitely had a lot of charm. It was nice and clean. A lot details throughout to notice. It had a New Olrleans-esque courtyard that was really nice.
Room was a bit smaller than expected. I didn't like that there was no place in the hotel to heat up any food.
This hotel was great, very clean and reasonably priced. It is beautiful and historic inside and staff were very friendly. Would highly recommend!
I loved the building and it's location. The architecture alone was beautiful, but the fact that it's also located within the Gaslamp Quarter was a huge plus. The staff was very friendly and helpful; the cleaning lady even offered us a couple of extra free bottles of water. I loved having the fireplace in the room and the mix of new and old in general.
I should have realized that, being in the Gaslamp Quarter, parking was sparse, but in order to park your car overnight, it was $30. That said, it is a comparable rate to other lots not quite as close, and you can take your car in and out as often as you'd like each day, which you can't at other lots, plus you use the valet, and they bring the car around for you. The other thing I didn't like was the bed. It wasn't the most uncomfortable bed I've slept in, but it was firmer than I'd prefer, and the sheets were a rougher fabric than I've used in other hotels. For the ladies, I'd also recommend bringing a travel mirror. The one in the bathroom was a tad too tall, and there isn't much counter space either.
