Air temperature is controlled by the front desk. You will need to call them to adjust (really, are we in the 1970s???)-unbelievable). The air condition smelled like mildew and gave me a headache the following day. My roommate kept coughing the whole night which we suspect was due to the mildew coming out of the A/C vent. Bathroom floor was not cleaned. Found gross hair (and other too gross to mention) on the floor. Corners underneath the sink have dust balls. the bathroom toilet plastic seat was burned that it looked like you poured acid on it. I cannot believe they have not replaced it. The electric plug in the bathroom is not secured and about to fall off, the hair dryer would not turn on because of the faulty plug. (Again, really????) So disappointing as when I think of Hilton, I think safe, clean and decent...not the SF union square. Front desk was very unfriendly. No welcome or "enjoy your stay" greeting. He couldn't find our reservation. When I showed him the confirmation number, he gave me the look and said "oh that's hotel.com's"...whatever that meant. As if he was treating us 3rd class as we had not booked it directly with them. After a few minutes, he finally found our reservation. Again, very unpleasant.
The hotel was clean and upgraded.
The A/C in my room was broken and it took about 3 hours for someone to come in and fix it. The room was stuffy and hot. We left to go get a bite to eat and returned to find out that they had not fixed it nor were we getting another room. Just off of the staff interaction I most likely would not return.
Old room, not very clean, no fridge or frigobar in the room, old carpet, smell old
The bed was comfortable, the cleaning girl was very nice and helpful.
The hotel was much overpriced to begin with and as we checked in, we were encouraged to upgrade for an extra $70 per night for something that didn't seem like an upgrade. The room itself was not luxurious by any means. We felt that it could get away with anything because it was right downtown. The long lines for both check in and the "continental breakfast" were not convenient.
My room was quite dirty, the toilet seat had something nasty in it, the table had years of dust, crumbs and scum under it. Our sheets had holes in them. Overall was very nice, most people were obviously there on business so I felt out of place not In a suit .
Staff was friendly
Room was not that clean. Starbucks in lobby closed to soon. Had to hike to tower 3 to get to pool, not worth it. Do not stay in any rooms overlooking the parking garage. Seems like that's where the party's are. It was so loud. People screaming from the street. Hopefully I will not have to stay here again for work.
The lobby and concierge were nice
The tub water was not flowing, full of hair stuck in the drain! Not cool to call maintained guy for trying to take a shower after a long day, guy gave us attitude for the call and ended up cleaning it almost at midnight. Overpriced parking for one night stay, almost $60!!!
Delilah was wonderful. Very friendly and knowledgeable.
Parking, but that is not the Hilton's fault.
Location was super easy to get to. The room was nice.
The room was a little small but they had it designed so nicely and utilized their space so well that it didn't even matter.
Starbucks in the lobby
The bay view (the side facing Parc 55 and Nordstrom)on the 33rd floor was great. Room 72 was excellent!! The house keeping staff were super friendly and helpful!!!
Coffee maker in the room burned my sister's hand.
The lobby and the ambiance, full of business people, free wifi, and starbucks, as well as the restaurant
the room smelled like those rooms where they used to smoke long time ago. Also, bathroom and room felt old.
The location is perfect, located right in Union Square and 3 blocks from the Powell BART station. It's a &10 cab fare to the fisherman a wharf and here's a nice 2 mile walk back through China Town and North Park. The concierge was extremely helpful as well.
There was no fridge in the room and parking was pretty outrageous, $47/day plus an $8 parking garage fee?!
Room was upgraded to one of the Urban rooms. I highly recommend one of these rooms. Great view, comfy bed, free wifi and a fridge too!
Recycling bag in the rooms Newly renovated
long lines at front desk and crowded lobby--i believe b/c free wifi was only available in the lobby. room and bathroom was clean, well-kept and quiet overall. some difficulty in adding people to the room and getting a mini-fridge in the room for medical purposes. definitely a destination for conferences and business meetings.
they changed my room upon making the complaint.
location was horrible. very scary ....for the money I paid this location is not acceptable. I was attacked by homeless angry people couple times . One time I had to run for my life also the place was pretty old and there was a smell in the rooms. no fridge. at the time of check in , the price for the room that you can get the room was cheaper for $25.00 than what priceline gave me
Ridiculous amount charged for parking. Internet wasn't free. No complimentary snacks
Wasn't that impressive to me. Nice view.
Toilet running. Didn't get the room I was supposed to get because it wasn't ready at 4 PM
The room, for the price I paid. Bathroom doors
Very clean, comfortable room. Location was great. Conference facilities were very versatile.
There was a whistling sound coming from my window when the wind blew. The window was fixed, so it was not slightly open. The sound made it difficult to sleep at night, so I had to put on a white noise maker from my smartphone to be able to sleep. No free wifi in conference facilities was annoying.
Close to a lot of interesting San Francisco destinations.
Lobby was always quite crowded, as it's a very large hotel.
