I liked Althea the car attendant. She was super friendly and helpful with my needs. She checked me in, took me to the car. Helped me with my suitcase. Showed me the little features about how to drive the car because I never seen the type of car dials before. She was all around cool. Give that girl a raise.

The car at pickup had almost empty gas but on request, the agent filled it up.National should provide pick up service within a few miles.

Car was dirty, dented, and overdue for an oil change.Was hard to see in the dark garage, but once you got into the sunlight you could see a few dents, and also how dirty the car was. Then, a few miles in the car started saying it was overdue for an oil change, that makes me wonder how well they check these cars over when it's already OVERdue! Not too thrilled about it.

Would have been perfect if not for the child seatsEverything but the child seatsCar seats were really bad value for $13/day per piece (we needed 2). They were the cheapest possible seats, it would have been cheaper to just buy them. There was no good solution for a 42lb kid - too young for a booster seat, too big for the car seat. We had to shoehorn her into the available seat. Pickup of the car was good, but the person in charge of car seats was rude and seemed annoyed by my request to see available seats.

Watch your locationIt's my own fault for not investigating closer, but I was under the impression that my San Francisco rental would be picked up at the airport. When I arrived at said airport with my husband, two kids, 4 suitcases, 4 backpacks, and 2 car seats, I was informed by a rude National employee that my rental was to be picked up at the train station, which was at least 30 minutes away, and she could do nothing to help me. I ended up renting a car from Alamo by calling and reserving a car on the spot. I am unlikely to use Kayak again.
