I’ve stayed here several times. The location is perfect for the centre of the town and is on the same level. San Miguel is built on a hill so many places involves steep walks. The hostel is small, family-run and very tranquil with a delightful courtyard. Breakfast is no longer available, although it is possible to self cater using the kitchen, but there are excellent cafes etc. opposite the hostel and in town. Staff are delightful.
There is WiFi but at times it is not very strong.
Great and friendly staff, perfect location. Good value for money. The girls bed room is a 5 bed room, next to men’s and they share a bathroom. During my stay I was the only girl, so no problem. I liked the patio. The WiFi doesn’t reach to the upper floor where rooms are though. Otherwise would recommend it as a simple hostel.
I liked the room I ended up in after being shuffled around, but it was not for long before they shuffled me again. Bathrooms were nice. I was not in their original hostel.
I requested a bottom bunk but they did not notice my request and they had long term people occupying the bottom bunks. They sent me to another hostel they owned and shifted me around like crazy. I thought it was to much given one shift was to accommodate 4 people for one night. Two of us had to move for this when we had already stayed a week. The microwave did not work only one burner on the stove worked. Breakfast was included but no one ever offered me anything. It was like a private breakfast club of Mexicans only.
The kitchen was super clean and spacious , perfect location, book and maps for activities at the front desk. Hot water even after 5 showers! :)
3 bathrooms only... There was always a lineup! And since it's not separated you have to wait a shower time just to go pee.
No problems sharing the (three) bathroom, and kitchen facilities. All clean. The ladies I shared in my mixed room were delightful. My first Hostel stay ever, and it was a very nice experience.
