Dried poop on toilet bowl from who knows when. Dirt everywhere. Uncomfortable pillows. TV did not work properly. Water bottle dispenser outside out of order for 4 days. It goes on an on. Nothing
There was a fridge and a microwave, a couch, many pillows etc standard room nothing extraordinary Remote did not work had to go change it, carpet was so filthy that when I walked barefoot for a few minutes my feet were black it's disgusting
Kind staff always smiling and helpful. The location in the middle of El Camino Real in San Jose. The room was clean and comfortable. The price value is excellent.
My staya unfortunatelyk was only fo rone night, but the room was very comfortale, and the staff were courteous and friendly. No there long enough to form an opinion
Cleanliness, excellent staff, good location
Nothing! People live in the hotel and are always lingering around. I didn't feel comfortable leaving my car in the parking lot because homeless hangout there and they stay up all night drinking and being disruptive. I wouldn't let my children go in the pool or spa due to the fact it was brown and extremely dirty. I felt uncomfortable walking to my car alone because everyone stares and try to talk to you. I felt uncomfortable and unsafe. I didn't even feel comfortable leaving my stuff in the room. I spent as little time as possible there. The staff kept calling my phone after the first night asking if I was staying another and I need to come in the office. After receiving 4 calls I told the lady all 4 times I made reservations for two night and I will come in when I get back. But the hotel room parking lot and everything else was dirty grimy and I will never stay there again. I do not recommend it. Stay at a motel 6 they are 100% better.
Location Maintenance, long term residents, uncomfortable situation, will not stay there again.
This hotel was very easy to find and easy to get to. We wanted a ground floor room so we had to wait a few minutes until the room was ready, but that was not a big deal. The best thing about the room was that the bed was very comfortable. The only thing I can criticize is that we were not told that the continental breakfast ended at 10:00. Since our check-out time was 11:00, we missed it. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience. It was also very quiet.
Despite the name, this is not a hotel--more like a cheap motel. No real lobby, no elevator. Room doors on outside. Arrived around 11pm and saw police car patroling and clerk was behind plexiglass window which didn't instill a great sense of security. Was glad to be on 2nd floor for security reasons but that meant having to carry my luggage up a poorly lit stairway. Toliet malfunctioned in morning--wouldn't flush and ran. Since I didn't pass through a lobby like in a real hotel, I forgot about alerting the 'front desk' but figured maid would notice when my room was done. Came back in late that night to find there was no maid service. Don't know if that is standard or they just missed my room. Glad it was only a 2 day stay and only needed room to sleep. On positive note, room was relatively clean, there was a refrigerator and bed was comfortable. Good flat screen TV but unfortunately the remote didn't work properly and wouldn't change channels. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend this so called hotel for any price.
Good and quite. Nice people Good price and clean Free Internet Breakfast is very sample
Close to restaraunts, close to airport, close to highway and cheap.
Very friendly knowledgeable staff, they were always willing to assist and answers questions. Clean modern rooms, easy to use entertainment system. Linens in great condition, room well stocked with bath amenities and personal care supplies. I stayed two days and was comfortable at all times.
We were pleased with the Hotel Stratford. Our room had a small refrigerator and microwave which were handy for in-room snacks. Just after checking in we received a phone call from the front desk to confirm the room and amenities were fine, which we thought was good customer service. The room rate included a continental breakfast each morning with coffee, juice, cereals, danish, bagels, and fresh fruit. Very nice assortment from which to choose. The only glitch was the TV. It was a new flat screen with DISH satellite and it was a bit difficult to get the thing working, but we finally figured it out. We recommend this hotel for anyone needing a place in the Santa Clara area.
Pros: Comfortable Bed, Continental Breakfast, Free Wireless Internet, Free Parking - consistently available, Fridge, Microwave, Iron, Flat Screen TV, Hair Dryer, Granite vanity top, Location, location, location. Cons: Small sized rooms, bath shower hardware is old and noisy. No printer access at the small Business Centre. Excellent value for the price paid! Highly recommended for budget conscious travelers who require the amenities shown above.
This hotel was neat, clean, modern, and in a very good location. The breakfast was adequate. Lots or restaurants around them. I recommended it to others.
I recently stayed at the Hotel Startford, which is in a great location for my sales efforts in Santa Clara. I was pleasantly surprised at the size and cleaniness of the rooms and the grounds. There was a flat screen TV in the room. They have newly painted the hotel and I noticed they also have new windows, the room was very quiet. The contiental BKF offered a decent breakfast and the coffee was surprising good. I would recommend this hotel, it was affortable and comfortable.
This is a fabulous, quality hotel. The rooms are very nice and have an appearance of a fancy hotel suite. Breakfast is standard continental: mini muffins, fruit (apples and oranges), cereal, toast, o.j. and apple juice, instant oatmeal packets and coffee (I don't recall any tea though). The TV is a 30+ inch flat screen with a lot of satellite channels (most of which you will not watch as they are the standard fluff channels found in every TV market) plus a few movie channels. Microwave and fridge in room, marble counter for sink, closet for clothes (and it has a bench for your suitcase). Shower was nice, but the shower head didn't appear to be adjustable in the angle of the head. My only complaint was that the bed was stiff and flat, causing me to keep turning over through out the night due to pressure points on my shoulder and hip. If the bed was better I would stay here again. However, if you are a back or stomach sleeper you probably won't have any issues with the bed and pressure points. Other than that it is a great value motel to stay at and I recommend it to anyone. The room was spacious and quiet--just be aware that the mattress may be too stiff/flat for your sleeping habits (I'm sure it may depend on which room you get as well. I was in 214).
This place is a real find for a low cost, but clean, quiet and comfortable stay. Breakfast is cereal, toast, muffins, fruit, coffee, juice which was perfect for me. It's about 1/2 the cost of franchise hotels in the area. I stayed there 2 weeks total with no problems.
The room was clean, Maid service WONDERFUL. Thre requested/confirmed room was not available. The breakfast bar was non-existant.Air conditioner broken (100+ temps). Cable TV was 1 station. Staff was non-responsive, I was told "Thats to bad" when I told them the AC did not work.
Place Kitchen facility is not available.
Good parking area Yes. This is the worse hotel I have ever been to. The most smelly room, really stinking from Smoke. I arrived to the hotel at 11 PM and waited for the reception person to wake up. He told me that this is the last room he has, although I booked for non smoking room. I have throw up up all night, the smell was impossilbe. I do not recommend to even get closed to this hotel.
I didn't like the tiny room they gave me that was located behind the check in counter. There was no phone, no alarm clock, no closet, and a no room to set my suitcase down. I also didn't appreciate the sound of rats in the ceiling every morning. I will never be staying here again.
The hotel was almost empty, so it was very quite. My room was non-smoking room, but I think it used to be smoking room and converted to non-smoking by spraying some deodorant. The mixture of still lingering smoking odor along with chemical they used was not very pleasant.
Their service is really poor and the front desk was not polite
There was nothing to like about this horrid place. Upon arriving, you discover a surprise welcome of a $10 "Resort fee", which is like a toll to merely enter a doctor's office. Filthy, mold in shower, pubic hairs around base of toilet, NO BEDSPREAD, burned out lightbulb by bedside lamp, REEKED OF CIGARETTE SMOKE--it was a "non-smoking room!" There are much cleaner and more pleasant motels up and down El Camino Real for $100/night. Naugahyde armchair was worn, PEELING/missing edging, unraveling The worst accommodations anywhere in the US--including the youth hostels of my college days!
wifi works excellent. clean room, quiet place
The Hotel was under renovation! I was given a room that literary worth a penny. When I complained - they moved me to a room much better (the excuse was given: ‘I requested the upper floor” – but not a shabby room!”). The next door hotel sign said 53.99. The attendance told me – no 48-hour notice and I have to pay for all five nights - because, it was booked through you. Everythings
Nice people, good location In the front wall, there is the room's door, and all the rest of the wall is a giant show-window which can give an uncomfortable feeling regarding the stuff security
Nothing 1. WiFi does not work. This was very critical for me. I called the front desk several times but they could not fix the problem. 2. Toilet and shower are dirty
A lot of restaurant close to the hotel, and the access is easy finding. And it is a secure place. The housekeeper make a lot of noise early at the morning (09am), this is dirty carpet in the room, but the bed is clean as well as the batroom. There is not restaurant for the breakfast, it is organise in the small loby.
The location is in a very nice area of Campbell. You can walk to Downtown Campbell with ease and there are good dining options around. The breakfast is very good; it proved beyond expectations. This place is shady and dirty. The jacuzzi wasn't officially closed during our stay....but the grey grime floating in it did not entice a dip. The walkways were covered in trash and bird feces. Cobwebs adorned the railings throughout the complex. Some of the doors DO NOT latch completely; in your carelessness it could be very easy to leave the door completely ajar. The shades and curtains do not cover the windows entirely, leaving late sleepers suffering through sunlite.
Rate was good Access to room was fine Room was clean Newer in-wall AC unit Quiet (mostly) Parking was free (and had enough spaces) WiFi was working, but barely It's a little tricky to get in/out of (have to be traveling in the right direction on Campbell Ave, not the easiest freeway access despite being next to the freeway) It's quite loud when people walk outside your room (upstairs)
Location. Great breakfast. Quiet. Broken door lock.
Very friendly staff, overall the rooms are nice, clean. Bed was comfortable. Close to where I needed to be for meetings. Breakfast room was large, clean, good selection, good coffee. Would return for work trips, especially for the price! Took >10 minutes for the hot water to get warm...so much so that the first day I showered I didn't even notice the water getting very warm at all even after letting the water run and run for several minutes. My room must have been the farthest from the water heater! Additionally, the room coffee maker had ~1cm of stagnant looking water sitting at the bottom of the reservoir (gross), though because of the free coffee with breakfast it did not matter.
Friendly front desk, clean room, extensive breakfast that ends 10am Monday thru Friday and 11am weekends and holidays.
location. I use to put all my clients at this hotel and conduct meetings there because of their proximity to us. The customer loved it because of what was around the hotel and the hotel was in very good condition. Run down, needs a total overhaul. Has lots of competition in the surrounding area, but they could be so attractive, plus they are known because they have been there for so long. Their price was lower than hotels right around them, but that is because they are so run down (by today's standards). They should go for it and update the whole hotel and then advertise the hell out of it. It could be considered a boutique hotel which would differentiate it from other brand name hotels.
Room carpet very stained, couldn't tell if it had been cleaned. No matresss pad. Faucets loose, black mold in shower.....
Very friendly, professional front desk staff, clean room, great location. Even complimentary breakfast. Definitely great value! Nothing!
Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast. Excellent location for our purposes. Clean and comfortable rooms.
Breakfast was free Rom was dirty asked to be move to another room. Guy at the desk acted like I was putting him out to do his job. Did feel like I was a valued customer. Rooms out dated and the price was not worth it.
Dirty and noisy. I was there for five days and had to get new key cards twice because they stopped working.
Nothing It's vert old and dirty, so smelly. I couldn't tell what was in the sink!
There was nothing good about this motel The building is falling apart. The stairs are held up by boards...very unsafe!!! Very scared. Lots of yelling, slamming doors, kicking and beating on walls. People digging in the dumpster. Couldn't stay another night. Had our money refunded.
Quiet No access to sodas after certain time
The worst experience ever. I'll never stay again.
Location It was loud, dirty and had lot's of "suspicious" customers. Definitely not recommended.
Staff Not secure quite a lot of police activity and window of my truck was smashed in and my stuff was stolen. Room was cheap till you figure cost of repairs to truck. Not safe
Value-for-money, clean and quiet Very limited facilities Basic Wi-Fi could be included in the room package; daily charges for paid Wi-Fi access on the higher side
Close to the airport. Outside: -Obvious drug deals visible from the check-in office. -Prostitutes and their escorts in the halls. -Various men with dogs wandering the parking lot. Inside: -Plastic covered mattresses. -Noisy AC unit. -Broken refrigerator. -Cigarette burns on furniture and shower. -Thin walls.
Place looked nasty, sure sheets seemed clean but old, run down, and flat pillows. Nasty green carpet from the 70's, and just reminded me and my wife of the rich motel. Everything really, especially the uncomfortable beds!
Easy access to 101 freeway and San Jose airport Very slow wifi and lack of open electrical plugs.
The whole thing felt dirty, nothing in the room feels inviting. Also, that was the worst bed to sleep in, my neck is still killing me.
May not be the swankiest place around, but bed was warm and comfortable, and shower hot. Staff very helpful. Wi-Fi, cable, refrigerator, and airport shuttle. Wi-Fi was a bit spotty at location of table in room
Location was convenient to my work. No shampoo provided
It was clean. Very very old facility. Uncomfortable. Cheap as hell. Three little tiny pillows. Couldn't even get a big pillow. They claim to have breakfast but it's a few muffins and some cereal. No plastic plates or silverware. And you can't take anything back to your room. Overall it was just a terrible experience.
I liked how decent it looked for the price we payed it was a nice place. Clean enough for us as in no blood or insects crawling around like other hotels reviews I had read. Nice little studio type of rooms with nice wood floors and a big enough queen bed for two The shower was a one person shower so it wasn't very spacious. The beds were not very comfy but if staying over night it's not a big deal and lastly the locations of the staircases were a bit confusing.
There is no lock to the restroom in the room.
comfortable bed sheets weren't clean neither were some of the towels tv was static no pool or hot tub kayak says there is supposed to be
Staff was friendly. Fairly close to shops and attractions if you have a car. This hotel was very old, doors open to parking lot with large windows that were not very secure, the bathrooms had rusty features, the tub was stained, spiderwebs in windows, thin towels, and minimal toiletries, the rooms were stuffy, the thermostat didn't work. I would not choose to stay here alone.
Leaving early Feeling like I might be robbed or killed at any moment.
I liked the fact they don't use that bug spray in the room most hotels in that price class use. The furniture in the room is newish and the bedsheets didn't have any faint skidmarks that didn't get washed out. What do you expect?? This is a cheap place (even though you sold it to me for $80+ when it's worth $65 after taxes). Hotel staff does not place a hold on the credit card for incidentals but charges the credit card after the guest arrives for $100. This means I have to monitor that those $100 are returned and this is extra work I do not appreciate. I think $80+ whatever I paid is totally overpriced for this hotel, what the hell are you people thinking? The place is also loud and the blinds in the room afford little privacy.
Service was friendly, quick and simple. Happy to help with directions. The water temperature in the sink was didn't get cold.
Usually stay at Hilton properties (every Hilton/Mariott was sold out the week I was in town) so that's what I have to base my review on. They were remodeling and trying to improve cleanliness. The staff was friendly. Close to airport, $10 uber ride to downtown. Property was older, somewhat dirty, motel like with parking lot in front of rooms...
The location was close to downtown and the airport. It was a $90 room vs $200 for a Hampton Inn or similar close by. It was definitely an Inn and not a hotel but the location was safe and rooms were clean and retail was close for dinner. For the price and expectations it was fine. Being a smaller inn and independent you get what you pay for. It was clean and everything worked but it was a bit noisy being next to a busy road and it was raining and the rain flowing through the gutters was quite loud.
The room was big and roomy Location and overall appearance of the hotel. It's a rundown place that had a half ass face lift. I also didn't like the fact that the front desk accusede of smoking and denied me from ever booking there again. I wouldn't stay here even if they paid me.
Heater didnt work.
Friendly Staff, Continental Breakfast, Comfy Beds/Pillows and Several Hundred Cable Channels... Shower Head for People Under 5' & a Couple of Bugs in the Bathroom...
None Pictures posted on their website did not come close to what the hotel looked like upon arrival. Hotel claimed they were under renovation; place had materials all around the Hotel. Room itself was questionable. Had to buy a sheet at Walmart to cover the bed since it's questionable how the condition of the bedding. Room door was flimsy and big gap on the door seem that lights comes through from the freeway lighting. Towels were very small and rough. Internet connection expires at the end of each day and you'll have to keep requesting a new connection for the duration of your stay. Plugging for electronics is hardly accessible.
Would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy I disliked everything
Graffiti in my room! Horrible smell, no comforter, no fitted sheet. I had a flat sheet and a blanket, and I visited during January. I should've stayed at Motel 6
Location Too loud, could hear traffic all night.
Nothing The roaches and management
Close enough to Great America theme park. Lousy free breakfast (it was literally just toast and cereal), had to kill a roach in bathroom suggesting it might have a bug problem. For the price we got though it wasn't to bad.
Nothing everything was horrible Bathroom was dirty like someone had just checked out. Room had a funny smell. We didn't stay we drove over an hr home after our game because i was not going to stay in that filth. Will never go back again
Convenience and location were not bad as I had to be somewhere early the morning after my stay and it allowed me to get there with time to spare. Check in was fairly simple and the room was easy to locate. The price of the room is the last good point of my stay, as it was Super Bowl weekend when I was at this hotel and they were one of the cheapest rooms for the one night I needed. Where should I start.... The room I received a key card for was on the side of the hotel closest to the freeway exit ramp. So, during the night when an officer went to pull over someone, and used his bullhorn, I was woken up. The room seemed out of place and too small for the amount of furniture in it, as there was a table pushed over a chair, near the door. The corridor light (1st floor) was right outside my door, so every time I turned over, I thought I had slept through my alarm and couldn't go back to sleep. The flooring seemed "warped" near the bathroom door (near the sink). It wasn't flat and it made a "crunch" noise when stepping on that area.
Close to airport, easy to find. Cochroaches, popcorn in my bed, broken electrical plate covers, constant pot oder, could see through to the out side via door gap when it was closed and hair in shower.... like 2ft long wad of hair on the shower wall and pubes in the tub. Also if any one used water i could hear it via the pipes shaking. Just yuck. I slept on top of the blankets. Dont stay here.
Location off of highway, very easy to find. Located in somewhat of a bad area of town. Random homeless/ drug users wandering around property at late hours of the night. Flet unsafe to leave room at night. Room had patches in the ceiling. Bathroom corners and corners of room were dirty with built up. Furniture was dirty and broken/ missing pieces. Overall a hotel worth half the price I paid to stay there, book with a well known chain hotel.
