Owner is calm and sweet. She turned on the heat before I got there. Very pleasant woman. Property is in a courtyard. Very well kept and in a New Mexico style. Room was equally charming and also well kept. May stay here again on my way back home.
Needs a bit more light fixtures in bedroom area and bathroom.
For the money, far and away the best place we found on our trip. Our room was small but much more quaint and relaxing than you would expect from the building's outside. Wood ceilings in particular were impressive. The front desk was responsive to our every need, and the owners are very friendly and hospitable. A fabulous deal if you're on a budget.
The heater was so close to one side of the bed that I had to switch sides with my friend so that the heat wouldn't keep hitting her directly. But I was much happier to have that problem than to have no heat.
We froze the heat was useless. Only old check in cards. Office was entered after they buzzed you in. Then thru a small window Broken ice machine.
The beautiful vigas ( wood ceiling) and wood door.
During the winter, I arrived to the room and it was like an ice box ( extremely cold) and the obvious heater was inoperable. Tried to call desk for help, but phone did not work. So, I had walk to the locked front desk and had to be buzzed in. The woman at desk told me there is another heater on the wall. So, I walk back to my room. Meanwhile my core temperature has dropped and freezing. I searching for this unit and find a newer unit on the top of the wall. I can barely reach it, much less, see the instructions on how to use it. I walk back to the desk and waiting in the cold to be buzzed in. Wan at from t desk says she will assist me. Finally, she arrives and turns the heater on. At this time, I need to get ready for my business event and had to thaw out in my car and waited for room to warm up. Thirty minutes later, I return to the room and it is still cold. I quicklt try to get ready in the cold and realize I need a hair dryer, but there is not one in the room. I walk back to the desk and ask about a hair dryer. Woman says they don’t have any. sigh So, I do my best and rush to get ready in this ice box. The sooner i can jump in my warm car. I left the heat on while I was gone for 5 hrs. When I arrived back to the room, it was kind of warmer, but still nippy. I was exhausted and just went bed. Sheets are an off white and rough from over use. sigh I tried to sleep, but could not get warm. The thin blankets were not enough to maintain my heat in this cold room. I had a terrible stay at this motel. The rooms have potential and inexpensive , but I will never stay there again.
We liked the proximity to Santa Fe. The rooms had ample heating in what was particularly cold weather.
Whilst we appreciate it's a motel with a history i.e. it's an old property, it is 2019 and I think it's reasonable to have updated facilities. The shower head over the bath was loose, when you made attempts to adjust it, you just wobbled it off the wall. There was no functioning bath drain hole plug. I'm not familiar with Santa Fe electrical code but I would be surprised if the changes made to facilitate the two tv's, fridge and microwave (extension cords) were best practice. Even the more permanent changes didn't feel the safest (when we attempted to use some of the very few outlets, we would get strange responses on adjacent lamps (flashing on and off while charging a small device)). We didn't speak to the management because what made us uncomfortable weren't quick fixes and we were only there a few nights.
