No car available!!
Cons: While I had a confirmation number, I did not have a car. The local agency called me very belatedly to let me know it would be in my best interest to formulate a "back-up" plan as they did not have a car available for me.

Cons: When I got there they said they didn't have a full size car like I had reserved and wanted to give me a SUV. I insisted and they gave me a full size Malibu. Why they said they didn't have one I don't know. They said the car was full of gas and it was only 3/4 full. The car was really dusty and full of bugs on front.

Great customer service
Pros: Rep. Was courteous and provided suggestions for things to do/see both locally and in a nearby city. We rented car for 2 weeks and she contacted us after the first week to make sure everything was going well. she also looked into any additional discounts which applied and was able to reduce the fee by $30.

pick-up not convenient
Cons: Booked a car away from the airport (Santa Fe) as it was less expensive and I assumed there would be Hertz shuttle to take me to the location. Not so. I had to pay $21 to have a community-based shuttle take me to the location. The Hertz rep at the airport could tell I was a little upset with this so told me to ask the rep at the pick-up location to deduct the cost of the shuttle from the rental cost.....which she did. I guess I shouldn't have assumed that there would be transportation provided by Hertz to another non-airport pick-up location. I didn't know that the Santa Fe airport was so small so may have opted to rent a car located directly at the airport had I known the circumstances. I was able to change my drop-off location to avoid another costly shuttle expense and ended up taking the car back to the airport....but there was an add'l charge to do so.

Cons: When I arrived, the agent told me they didn't have a car available,despite the fact that I had a reservation. The agent would not help me contact other local Hertz locations to find a car. She promised to follow up with me later that day, but never called. I ended up getting a great deal at Enterprise, and will never waste my time with Hertz again!

Pros: Did not like anything about it.
Cons: Even though I had reserved a car On the day if the rental I was told there were no cars available. Had to rent from Avis at the last minute. A bit stressful to say the least.

Cons: We were delayed because of weather. Our car was not held for 24 hours - just two. We were delayed in one airport alone for more than two hours! Hertz did not help with this situation, even though it was not our fault. I will not use Hertz again.

Off airport Hertz office hours
Pros: This is an off-airport Hertz. Please be aware of the Hertz office hours and your flight times. We arrived 6 minutes after the Hertz office had closed. Thankfully the Hertz employee saw us getting dropped off and our shuttle driving away. She reopened the store to rent us a vehicle. Above and beyond service!!!

Pros: good economical car. satellite radio worked great out in the middle of nowhere, that helped passed the time.
Cons: Didn't realize the extra fees for liability were charged per day. That ended up being way too high.

Pros: I liked the car(Hyundai Elantra)! Great gas mileage, good interface. I received great customer service over the phone, problems were resolved rapidly!

Great price and helpful staff
Pros: After getting an outrageous quote for a rental car directly through a rental company, I decided to try Kayak. Kayak was great! I was able to obtain a rental vehicle for $400 less than my original quote. I was able to get a vehicle from Avis that was just what we had hoped for. The Avis staff was friendly and helpful both at pick up and return.
I will definitely use them again.

Cons: They did not have the car we reserved, and were going to charge me extra to upgrade to something that they had on the lot. They should have waived that fee given that they didn't have the car we reserved.
Cons: Although I was able to book a reservation and obtain car insurance through Kayak, Budget denied my debit card. Therefore I was unable to rent the car. It shouldn't be possible to book a reservation and then be denied car rental.

Pros: I showed up to the rental car location around 12:30PM. The location closed at 12:00PM! Nobody called to tell me and the hours of the location were not listed on my reservation. It was such a disappointing experience and it ruined my plans for the afternoon.
Pros: Even though I had to wait awhile to pick up my car, the staff was friendly as they buzzed around tending to cars and customers. Olivia gave me a free upgrade and that ride was smooooooth for my 4 hour drive down south. Checking back in was a snap. I'd use Enterprise through Kayak again in a second. Best prices in Santa Fe.

Pros: Very customer focused, very helpful and willing to go the extra distance for you.
Cons: Return was difficult due to my lack of attention to return location hours of operation. The manager explained a local security issue regarding the use of after hours drop box that precludes the local area offices from using this option. After hours drop will improve in the Santa Fe area as an airport location is due to open soon (they have the concession rights, just waiting on the airport to move on execution of new lease/concession.
