Pros: Quinta do bosque is a unique piece of paradise, hidden in the Douro valley. Cristiano and his team think of even the smallest details! The candle lit dinners are just amazing (dont miss them!) And the views from the pool are breathtaking! We stayed 4 nights of our honeymoon and wished it could have been longer!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous stay with Cristiano. A little gem hidden in the mountains near the river. Definitely a place to return. Totally relaxing and a very welcoming atmosphere. Thanks for hosting us!

Pros: A real gem in the Douro valley. Amazing food, impeccable service and stunning views. Cristiano and the team went above and beyond to make a truly memorable stay in paradise.

Pros: One of the best places we have stayed, we were looked after really well. There should be a new category for places this good. Have dinner.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff at Quinta do Bosque were impeccable. Maria was so kind. Given that there are only 5 rooms in the Quinta, Maria and the others truly bent over backwards to make sure everything was as we needed, and their attention to sweet little details made all the difference for us and for everyone. The Quinta itself was perfectly clean and manicured, modern and cozy, with incredible views over the Douro Valley. We hope to stay here again.
Cons: Nothing!

Pros: Very gentle and attentive host Very relaxing atmosphere Every night they offer a superb 3-course diner
Cons: /
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding Location, view, room, etc. Outstanding staff: Christiano, Nuno, Bea, and Madia. They're hospitality and food was fantastic. It felt like visiting with a loving family. Our tour guide called the quinta to suggest a good place to get a francesinha com ovo. They passed the message to us as soon as we woke up and came downstairs. And then followed up later asking if we liked it. Of course we did! Also, I'd definitely recommend eating dinner there. It's so easy and all you have to do is make your way upstairs for bed. They kept asking us if we wanted more delicious food. Send help. Special shout out to Bea for bringing us fresh-out-of-the-oven croissants. I've never had one so tasty :)
Cons: I wish we could have stayed longer. I would have loved to have sat down with them and chatted about their views on local food, wine, portugal, the valley, etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Design, quality of furniture, decoration, swimming-pool, garden, amazing breakfast, very careful staff and service oriented. We really liked our stay.
Cons: Dinner at the property is a little bit expensive for the sophistication of the meal although the staff is so service oriented that this compensates.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I love small and charmy hotels! The hotel is cosy and feels like home. The owners and staff really make it worth the trip. Will for sure come back in the future. All the details are there, since warmy welcome to the wonderful cheese platter! The breakfast is fantastic with all the fresh and organic jams and eggs! Last but not least, as a hamburger lover need to say, what a burger! Better than gordan ramsay´s burger! :-) If you stay @ the hotel I would definitely recomend the villa! Its worth the money, would even say the hotel should expand from 2 to 4 villas! For guests looking for hotels in Douro, I would say, this hotel located in Mesão Frio is actually Douro! Please consider it as a hotel in the Douro region specially as its near by the water!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The situation, the serenity, the staff, the decor and the attention to detail were all outstanding. An added bonus was being able to eat at the Quinta in the evenings, which we thoroughly enjoyed. I would have no qualms about recommending Quinta de S.Bernardo and will most certainly be staying there again in the future.
Cons: Absolutely nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Faultless.
Cons: This is an absolute gem of a concept. The location is stunning and the hotel is lovely and stylish with well appointed rooms and communal areas. The food is excellent, as are the wines made on site. Everything has been thought about; the slick check in and check out process, the signage, the emblem discreetly placed on cups and plates, I could go on. What makes it really special are the staff; the service is without doubt the best we've come across, ever, anywhere. We were so impressed by the fact you dont have to sign for anything because they remember you and know which room you are in. Each person is warm, friendly and kind, they explain everything from the moment you arrive and make it feel like home. The attention to detail throughout is incredible. What they offer is hospitality in the purest sense of the word.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quinta de S. Bernardo is a lovely place. This farmhouse/hotel is very charmy and you feel like home right you walk in. The interior and the attention to every detail were outstanding. The food is so delicious! The dinner menu changes every day and if you want, you can get the wine pairing to the meals. The best thing in the afternoon was to relax at the pool with the fabolous view to the winyards... and a glas of wine ;) We definitely recommend this hotel if you want to relax, having good food and try some good wines!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had an amazing stay at Casa do Escoivo. We felt so welcome from the moment we arrived. We even got a free upgrade to a bigger room with a balcony of which we had a beautiful view over the vineyards. We had rented a car in Porto to explore the Douro Valley and it was easy to find this property. If you don't have a car it will probably be difficult to reach this place. The breakfast was so lovely with lots of fresh products (including delicious cake!). We were also very spoiled with fresh oranges and plums from the property and even a bottle of their homemade wine. Thank you so much for making our stay unforgettable!! You are such lovely people and we hope to come back someday!

Pros: Amazing view Lovely pool Great breakfast
Cons: Absolutely beautiful place, blown away when we were taken to our room and looked out from the balcony, everything in the room was to a beautiful taste, the garden and pool were also fabulous, the only one slight thing i think they may improve on is to put a mini fridge in the room, as we loved sitting on the balcony on an evening to have a beer or glass of wine, the place was too lovely to leave, the breakfast was also gorgeous too with lots of choice and you could sit outside admiring the view. Sandra checked us in and was wonderful, nothing too much trouble, we would love to visit again and highly recommend it xx

Pros: The view was breathtaking. The room was clean. Nice linens and plenty of towels. Spacious room and tranquil. The hosts were very friendly and remembered mine and my sons name. The breakfast included was great and plentiful. This was my husbands favourite place to stay in Portugal. The only regret was that we only stayed one night. Thanks to the hosts and girls that were taking care of everything. This place was recommended to me and I would not hestitate to recommend it as well.
Cons: Couple of bugs and paid more for my son to stay in the room compared to what was first quoted and advertised in their books.

Pros: The amazing view and friendly staff
Cons: We loved it all
6.3 Good
Pros: Okay view, room and pool area.
Cons: Not very interesting breakfast, bad coffee and nothing was really good - needs to be improved! Service was very neutral and not personal at all. No attention to details. No information regarding the area or useful tips. Pillows not hard and big enough. The room needed in general some maintenance. A bit outdated. Will not be coming back!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Superb breakfast Spectacular view Pleasant room with balcony overlooking the Douro river to the left and the right
Cons: Parking was on the road above the hotel but was OK. Drive down to drop off your bags first. Directions for finding the property and instructions about the parking would have been helpful.

7.5 Good
Pros: The view was nice. The breakfast was excellent. The stuff at breakfast was friendly. The house was reasonable.
Cons: when we found the location it was closed with a gate and the person there didn't hear the bell. People from the center of the village that knew him eventually called him and then he came to open the gate. Since he did not know English, he called someone else who came and explained the details (in German. we know very little German), but she was welcoming and helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the views, the beautiful garden with pool and the relaxed athmosphere!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: we liked the cleanliness and the large bathroom and also the balcony we did not have breakfast but coffee and tea making in room was good. the views are outstanding from the balconies and gardens you see the douro in all its glory. it was cherry season so we were told by the owner to pick some off their trees in their garden.
Cons: there is nothing to dislike.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a very large house with a separate apartment and different types of rooms, we stayed in a nice roomy double bedroom with private bathroom. We had a nice view of Douro (the river) and the room was clean and comfortable. The house itself is spaciously and tastefully arranged and the owners make you feel like it’s your house and their just the housekeepers; the staff made us breakfast and did what they needed about the house but were almost invisible and yet they provided everything - such as bringing us extra towels when we were in the pool. The garden is a jewel, full of citrus plants and cherry trees and all sorts of plants. It’s very neet and tidy and yet it feels wery relaxed. There’s a large pool with plenty of deck chairs and there are two separate pergolas, where you feel as though there’s nobody else in there and have the space to enjoy the view of the terraced, vineyard filled, slopes leading down to the river. Breakfast was fabulous. There was huge choice of things to have (from eggs, cheesed, ham and bread to cakes and fruit).

Pros: Our host Peter was amazing, could not do enough for us. Such a beautiful spot overlooking the Douro River, cherries galore, loved every minute of our stay.
Cons: Nothing, loved it all
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, super clean, amazing view, nice pool and bbq area! I’ll recommend it for everyone I know who visits the Douro valley. I have to mention the view again, it’s breathtaking and no pictures does it justice.

Pros: Excellent stay with beautiful views and very pleasant staff. Highly recommend!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A place with stunning view on Duoro valey, great old + modern architecture mix, with all you need including outdoor swimnig pool. Breakfasts prepared by Clotilde (home made jams and marmelades, but not only!) were rich and excellent. Rooms were quiet, comfortable (with small but perfectly enough shower and toilette). Owners are very friendly and provide good recomendations on what to see and where to eat.
Cons: It would be excellent if there is a chance to organize something to eat at the property, except breakfasts. Alternative is byuing something in the supermarket for lunch/dinner or driving outside (no walking distance places around).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: La Quinta is very nice and comfortable, congratulations to the staff. Thanks to Ana for her precious suggestions and her friendliness. We will come back with great pleasure.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Quietness, relaxing atmosphere, beautiful views, kind and helpful staff
Cons: If you stay in a normal room, it's probably ok for the price. But we stayed in a suite and it was overpriced and was not worth the money:( it was very dark, had kitchen which you can't use and a strange placement of the bedroom - right in front of the entrance door. The shower holder was broken, even though the staff knew about it but didn't repair. Since the hotel is far away from the village, you'll have to pay a little bit more for the taxi to go there (10-20€ one way)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We fell in love with this hotel and their amazing staff (Ana and Clotilde, many thumbs up!). Ancient quinta where they were producing port wine, this 6 room hotel (plus a suite in an independent building next to the main one, but not well designed as to its divisions and not worth the price) which has been entirely renovated with a nice minimalist modern style. It is located 10 min car drive from Regua and 35 min from Pinhao (I would not stay in Pinhao.. I'd rather stay here and drive the super nice worldwide renown route 222 a couple of times). It is located on top of the vineyards so you have great views. The pool is very nice too with the view... the fact that there is only 6-7 rooms makes it a calm place to relax. Great staff Ana (reception, customer service, kitchen, name it, she's everywhere and so nice) and Clotilde (mainly kitchen, but a bit everywhere also, she reminded me of my mom, a very kind woman) offered a superb service during our 4 day stay. Really, I would hire those women in a heartbeat. Ana, knowing that we were traveling with our 6 month old baby, gave us the biggest room (number 6) which is the only one on the higher level next to a living room (kind of reading room). Since we were putting our baby to bed early and did not have time to go to the restaurant, Ana set up a table for us in that living room so that we could ate the food we had bought during the day at the grocery store. Ana told us when we arrived that we could use the kitchen as if we were home. That was a great plus with a baby to heat the food early morning and for me who is an early bird (could make myself espressos before breakfast time arrived). Delicious breakfast We were happy every morning when breakfast time arrived. Homemade pear jam, banana jam, raisin jam and, last but not least, pumpkin, cinnamon and walnuts jam... wow! Croissants were the best we ate in all Portugal. There were good cheeses, homemade cakes and all. We strongly recommend and go back!
Cons: The furniture in the room could be upgrade but not a big thing for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. Great location, sunsets there are a sight to behold. The host - Ana is amazing.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Nice spacious room with good beds. Great hospitality by our hostess Isabelle, she really helped us to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Particularly we enjoyed the diner she prepared for us during our stay, which she served in a splendid ambiance.
Cons: Temperature of shower was a bit difficult to control.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay there was one of our favorite during our two month journey. The property is lovely with such charming hosts who made us feel quite at home. Isabell was so generous sharing information about her family home. We enjoyed her dinner using fruits in season from the area. Sitting outside listening to the Fado music Isabell put on for us and the views from this hilltop retreat will always be in our memory of traveling to Portugal.
Cons: That we didn’t stay longer.

7.5 Good
Pros: Location and views, good breakfast.
Cons: Inside little musty smell (old building/furniture)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Almost everything
Cons: Breakfast room a little dark and chilly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff (receptionist even took my bags to the room). Nice wine tasting. Big parking place. Rooms are heated with central heating. I don't mentioning, but the location is more than perfect with mind-blowing view on Dauro river valley. Very comfy beds. Interiors are very nice with a lots of places where you can seat and chill, play some table games. And, of course, it's very private - just for relaxed weekend. Didn't used swimming pool as it's the end of October. Definitely worth visit other time. One tip: book dinner when you place booking (if you need some).
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The Casa is historic, beautiful and grand (even with its own chapel). The grounds, vineyards and vistas are fabulous.
Cons: Owning to its historical nature and the late October visit, the house was a bit on the cool side. Its closes at the end of October.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful area and old estate home with great views of Port wine vineyards. Lovely pool overlooking views. The young lady in reception is very friendly and helpful.
Cons: As the home is supposed to be non smoking but owner took liberty of smoking cigars through the house. The smell bothered all of us specially me that I am asthmatic. This showed a disregard for the guest as the home was informed of my health issue prior to arrival.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful staff, very nice and always ready to attend to us in any request. The bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean. The view from the pool is just incredible!
Cons: The breakfast was varied and healthy but unfortunately my girlfriend can't have gluten and there wasn't any bread or pastry option for her.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property with mountain views. The interior was antique with lots of history. Excellent Service!
Cons: I liked everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s grandeur, it’s location, Sonia the hostess who was so helpful and friendly. We enjoyed a wine tasting and have really loved the box of red we took away. We felt we were in someone’s beautiful manor house.
Cons: Nothing to dislike except it was a shame that the pool was not ready as temperatures were very high during our stay! Eating in the evening is more of a challenge since local fare was not good. Suggest going down the valley to the town or persuading the property’s staff to cook a simple meal.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was just perfect. Only people who enjoy something special should stay here, this is not the place for the uneducated.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a great 2 night stay and we loved everything. We were enchanted by the beauty of the vineyards, the elegance of the mansion and the hospitality of the staff. The breakfast accompanied by fado music and the dinner that you must order 24h beforehand were simply delicious. This is a place you want to return. Definitely recommend.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay in Quinta das Quintas. The stuff was very friendly, nice and helpful. The view from up there is amazing. The place has special charm and a character.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly personal, comfortable accommodation and spectacular views.
Cons: When checking in, be aware that there is no obvious reception. Theres a bell on a wall which you ring and if you're lucky, someone turns up and shows you your accommodation! Trying to find personale is a little like hide and seek. There is an office, often unmanned, but the kitchen is a good bet to ask if you need anything. Lack of written information, after a couple of days and conversations with one of the staff who does speak english, you know how things function and what facilities there are.
5.8 Okay
Pros: It was pleasent outside, with nice view over the Douro' river. The employees were very pleasent.
Cons: We got two roms on the main building that had high moisture, and a constant noise of an motor all night long. The worst was that the clothes were humid when we weak up next morning. Really bad and uncomfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved having the private casa, made for two people and only a year old. Was very comfortable had wonderful amenities...jacuzzi, waterfall shower, mini kitchen, double sink in the bathroom, a small sitting area, a hammock and small table with chairs on the patio. Enjoyed walking around the property and seeing all the animals, sunning by the pool, and going up to the game room at night. DEFINITELY get the dinner at night...SOOOO worth the price of only 20€ per person, includes a bottle of wine too! They also have spa services available if booked in advance. Would love to go back as a large group and really take over several of the individual cabins.
Cons: No wifi in the casa. Wouldn't be hard to have an individual router in there to have wifi (only up in the main house).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming old central building. Contemporary additions. Rooms are decorated with antiques- stylishly done. Spotlessly clean. Refreshing pool and lounge chairs with a view of the river after a day of wine tasting.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole place is so beautiful! Amazing views, peaceful, good breakfast, very friendly and heartfelt staff. The Apartment is clean and nice decorated. Our kids loved this place too.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a glorious place with aromatic fruit trees, entertaining facilities, and a variety of interesting creatures onsite especially our favourite 'Estralla'. We heartily recommend the Spa @ 5€/person is a steal, and all inclusive suppers were well worth the 20€ price... we didn't leave the property for 2-days... a perfect place to kick-back and recharge before heading off to explore the cities.
Cons: We all found the beds somewhat too hard for us retirees and greatly reduced our overall enjoyment of our stay at the Quinta. Obey the signs and do not pick the oranges, as they are quite sour, being only be good for jams and marmalade.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The personalised service and tranquility - great place to get away from it all
Cons: A map of the area and a little history would have been nice....not much focus on telling the visitor about the property and the history of the area
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast is very good. The staff is very friendly and and we even had a little treat in the room, as we were celebrating a special date. Loved the salt water (instead of chlorine) outdoor pool and the wonderful views. Perfect place to relax and disconnect.
Cons: The smell of cleaning products when we checked in. It seemed the smell of bleach and it was hard to disappear.

Pros: Beautiful property and lovely host. Great breakfast. At check in, host told us the history of the property and escorted us around the property. It was our most enjoyable .
7.5 Good
Pros: We had a very warm welcome. Host was very friendly to our children. We could use fridge and kitchen for some essentials.
Cons: Too far off the village center, beyond walking distance. The pool area has no shade, so not very enjoyable on hot days.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The guesthouse is a wonderful little gem tucked away in the Douro valley. Our stay was exceptional - a cozy room with a beautiful view of the hills, delicious food, a nice swimming pool. But the kindness and care of the owners was beyond belief. We were treated incredibly, from the organised pickup to local recommendations to a really pleasant attitude. Definitely recommended!

Pros: Authentic well preserved Quinta. Excellent host. Good pool, beautifull view of the valley.

5.8 Okay
Pros: The view is beautiful from this prime location on the river, especially from the infinity pool on the roof. The lady in the Kids Club on our last day was a delight.
Cons: A big ugly building that looks more like an institution than a luxury resort. Inside it is cold and dated, with poor architecture that limits the beautiful views, especially in the restaurant. Staff were polite but felt very junior and untrained in premium customer service. Diogo in the restaurant is an exception, he was excellent. Overall this property feels more like a dated conference center than a 5 star hotel. It’s a shame as the potential is huge.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff. Super friendly and helpful. Brilliant pool on the roof. Get a room with the river view.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The infinite pool is one of the best I’ve ever seen so far. Really good breakfast with a variety of cold and hot food, good pastries and fruit. Friendly and attentive staff. Very clean facility.
Cons: A little too modern. The outdoor spaces didn’t really meet my expectations. The hotel has so much potential and could explore the outdoor areas a lot more. Very poor garden, not enough green spaces.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great view, very good design! Excellent breakfast.
Cons: Jim very poor!!!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location, breakfast, parking, views.
Cons: Attention to details in room condition could be improved. Our safety deposit was broken and the vanity kit didn’t include some of the basic necessary items. Staff fixed these two issues after we noticed them. The water in the infinity pool was too cold for me.
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was diverse and included great coffee and ingredients. The view is world-class, and we have a lot of traveling expirience. The room was big and comfort.
Cons: Not enough choices for veggies in the dining room. Some parts of the facility are not in a 5 stars levels and require upgrading. It seems like there is a lack of staff in the restaurant and bar. Preety isolated place without any other choices to eat. Spa is below the standard.
7.5 Good
Pros: The views from the infinity pool and the view from the room! Good to forget the outside world and relax.
Cons: Most of the staff were nice, but not up to the standard of a 5* hotel! They weren't very attentive and sometimes even replied in a rude manner. Staff at the restaurant not very well informed (or informed at all) about the dishes they were serving. Some food was served almost cold. The loud pop music in the pool bar while having a bite to eat... just ruined the relaxing environment/mood of the setting.
6.3 Good
Pros: The infinity pool is great, though we had 1 week of bad weather to enjoy it ! The indoor pool in a good alternative for the little ones! Breakfast has variety... but the restaurant is too expensive for the food they present. We reserved a private Muscat Douro Tour from Deltatour on site, which was great!
Cons: It is considered a 5 star hotel, but it shouldn't be. There is No ATM machine closeby... the nearest one stays at 15Km from site. The hotel is very far from everything, and the roads to reach it are sooo tricky and tight! Some of the staff is great (thank you Beatriz, our daughter loved you!).. others, are just facing burnout, since they are there working early morning till Night.. and then again and again. The cleaningwomen didn't put new shampoos and body washes nor the coffee , which were finished, 2 days in a row..
5.8 Okay
Cons: We arrived and had to ask directions as to how to access the reception area. A very unwelcoming approach via the underground Carpark. None of the staff were welcoming or friendly. We felt like we were just a room number. Food average but lacked any ambiance in the restaurant or bar. Couldn’t wait to leave and would never return. Could not believe that such an ugly building was allowed to be built in such a beautiful location.

Pros: The accommodation is in a great location close to good cheap restaurants and easy access to the all the Douro Valley. The hosts are superb and friendly with helpful suggestions on what to see in the Douro and where to eat. The pool is fantastic with views to die for. Great breakfast options.
Cons: Leaving
9.3 Excellent
Pros: breathtaking views......
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The view is just amazing from everywhere on the property. Very nice infinity pool. Good breakfast included. Host Rei and his wife are very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely return and stay even longer.
Cons: No fridge in the room and the water in the outside hot tub was not clean.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Host Rei and his wife were very welcoming. The location and views are breathtaking. The swimming pool and hot tub are fantastic. We enjoyed the breakfast. Rei was very kind to offer up some of his freezer space so we could freeze some of the food we had with us.
Cons: It would have been nice to have a mini refrigerator in the room. For rooms of this price I always have a small refrigerator to keep our snacks and drinks chilled or frozen.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything ; place is wonderful and we were treated like family.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We loved the room and the view. The room was very clean and well designed. The breakfast was very good with a nice selection of cereals, yoghurts. cold meats, cheese, fresh fruits, rolls and cakes The 2 girls working there were very friendly and helpful. We travelled from Porto by train and the station at Rede was only about 5 minutes by taxi from the Imaginary d 'El-Rei. We think this is probably more suitable if you have a car as you can visit the lovely village up the hill for supplies for lunch and the local restaurant.
Cons: It would be nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room rather than have to ask someone. They are still building/fitting out the rooms below so there were lots of workmen and vans in front of our balcony from 8am. The infinity pool was really cold and it had quite a few flies in it. The whole place will be amazing when its all completed and we would definately stay here again.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Easy access and Lovely view. The people were super nice and Cousy :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. Extremely friendly staff, clean room and great facilities - pool and jacuzzi are simply amazing!! Breathaking view, even better than on the photos. I highly recommend it !
9.5 Excellent
Cons: There was a lack of refrigerator, but the fantastic hospitality solved the problem.
7.0 Good
Pros: The views in any room are amazing The hosts are quirky but friendly
Cons: Considering the price we pay: The construction ongoing on-site The pool and hot-tub were not clean, full of bugs. Water in the pool is also really cold and the patio around it has a number of screws coming out of the wood so need to be careful when walking The bathrooms are a bit dated Location is just a little bit far from wine-country

Cons: Problematic WiFi in rooms
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The swimming pool and the surrounding area. Restaurant was excellent. A very good breakfast.
Cons: No kettle in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly owner and staff. Very cozy, comfortable, calm and lovely hotel. Very nice garden, very good breakfast. Great place for relaxing. Good for families with kids.
Cons: Nothing about the hotel. But the village is small and not close to bigger towns in the region. There is a small convenience store and that's it.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A lot of value for the money. Good place to stay with a seperate living room (including biljart, huge TV ) The staff was extremely polite and helpfull, although it was sometimes difficult to communicate (Most of staff speak only portuguese) The restaurant - price for value was also very OK. We did not manage to enjoy the garden due to the rainy weather, but everything was very neat and clean and well taken care off. Nice swimming pool.
Cons: For breakfast, it would be better to serve it in the restaurant - now we were placed in a room behind a curtain in the restaurant which was not very cosy. Since it was raining, we could not sit outside - if the weather is sunny, I asume you can have breakfast in the garden, which is a very nice place for your breakfast. The rooms were very clean and we had a room with a view on the yard (ask for this) - otherwise you have a view on the street.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location to visit the old Douro as Well as Porto. Nice swimming pool. Good breakfast and good restaurant.
Cons: The beds are on the hard side, but the staff helpen is well with a solution for this.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Casa do Almocreve is a wonderful guest house, and the swimming pool is set in beautiful gardens. The bedrooms are spacious, and immaculately clean. The hosts could not have been nicer, helping us out with local knowledge, and suggesting day trips to places not particularly well known to tourists. It has a lovely ambience, with excellent Portuguese cooking. They were also ultra fast at fixing our leaking air-conditioning, having an engineer on site within an hour to put everything right. An excellent guest house, only a few minutes drive down to the Douro River, where you can pick up a train for an amazing train journey.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and spacious rooms, many facilities for longer evenings. Good breakfast with wide choice.
Cons: Wifi was not working, the lady that welcomed us didn’t speak any English, she was very nice, but difficult to explain something without english. It was cold in the rooms, but after we asked to turn on the heating it was fine. Location is in the mountains, if you want to stay in Douro Valley, you have to drive bit further, its not that close (at least 45 min drive).
7.5 Good
Pros: Great swimming pool, garden and terrace. Also the guest room with TV, fridge and pooltable was very attractive. The host was very fiendly, but speaks only a few words English.
Cons: The rooms were very noisy and the bathroom too small. Breakfast was quite poor. Wifi was poor also.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant decor was charming as well as the hotel. Loved that it was so quiet and relaxing.
Cons: Our friends had a bad meal. The veal was tough and they had problems getting it cooked to their liking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was extremely clean and the vegetation was amazing. The staff was great and friendly (Daniella, Anna and Alexandra). They were always available to answer our questions. This place feels like you are at an all inclusive resort. Amazing people and service!

9.3 Excellent
Pros: This B&B is located in a gorgeous house with tile lined walls and beautiful wooden floors, stairs and doors. Our room and bathroom were spacious and air conditioned. The owners José and Fatima, were really hospitable and kind. We did find that bed slightly small for us (we are 2 big Australians) and the internet didn't work well in our room. But it worked rally well in José and Fatima's living room where they invited us for a drink after we returned from dinner!
