I like every thing , every thing was very good and I enjoyed my time very much. Nothing was not good.
the floor was sticky..when u walked around on it your feet would get black..beds were hard..towels were thin..tv was small and you couldnt turn off closed caption..neighborhood looked dangerous..toilet was broken on one side..no iron and ironing board the floor was sticky..when u walked around on it your feet would get black..beds were hard..towels were thin..tv was small and you couldnt turn off closed caption..neighborhood looked dangerous..toilet was broken on one side..no iron and ironing board
Air conditioner didn't work well, bed wasn't confortable, bathroom faucet didn't work properly, shower appeared very dirty and would not used.
Staff was great, ez check in, ez check out Regular wifi is very poor, $3 for upgrade is well worth it, upgraded wifi is top notch.
the attitude of people sitting at front desk was pathetic enough to inhibit me visiting the hotel again. Not only they were rude but on one night when I had electric short ccircuit in my room, I was asked to deal with it myself and the phone was hung on me. I did book a complant next morning but nothing happened
There were multiple black hairs in the bath tub
The price. I was given a room I didn't pay for; meaning a two bed smoking room which I could not sleep at all. The room smelled horrible. The night clerk argued with my girlfriend about the issue and couldn't resolve the issue. I was told to speak to the manager the following morning which was pointless and aggravating without proper sleep.
it was convinient to the trolley system it was our honeymoon and that was not acknowledged
Nothing - there was nothing good about this site. Even the stuff that was acceptable was average - And I am used to staying in Motel 6s. Avoid this place. There were a ton of cockroaches in the room. It was absolutely disgusting. This place was infested as of last week. I would highly suggest you avoid this place.
located right next to pacific beach - great location. rooms were large and clean. bathroom with power shower. big plasma tv - very enjoyable stay. continental breakfast was not great.
It is close to the Pacific and Missin beach areas - a good place to have a rest
Location, spacious rooms, nice pool A little bit run down, trash containers behind room, smells bad.
The room was quiet and located within walking distance of the beach. The shower was the worst shower I have ever had. There was absolutely zero water pressure. It felt like I was taking a shower in a light rain storm. The room wasn't excessively dirty but does need a little more elbow grease in the bathroom.
Nice location on beachside of larger street (250 yds from beach), noice not bad at all. Ocean glimpse from most rooms, nice patio with chairs and table just outside room, motel style with rooms one stair up Continental breakfast just a muffin. Bonus is fridge and micro in room. Carpets could have been less worn. Could do without the breakfast
Close to the beach. The rooms were a little dirty and our air conditioner was broken.
The comfort of the room, porch with table and chairs and a clear view of the ocean. No
This is by far our favorite hotel to stay at when we visit. We recommend it to all of our friends and family!
I liked the cleanliness of the room (definitely one of the cleanest I've ever stayed in for the price). The bathroom was tastefully remodeled, and the hotel staff was accessible and friendly.
close to beach, walking distance to food, shopping, nice atmosphere, beds very comfortable parking was a little tight
Staff very helpful, they still had breakfast available in the last half hour. I'd like to see a guide for TV channels. TV was blurry and needs some improvements
The price was right Close to a lot of good places No problems finding parking Clean Friendly staff Really good breakfast Small room (not that big of a deal though) Slightly weird smell Bed/pillows weren't that comfortable Remote control didn't work
There was cable and it was close to the gas lamp district/convention center Very dirty rooms. Carpet had not been vacuumed. My BF walked around the carpet after a shower and his feet were turning a black color like he had been walking outside. Comforter had stains, white stains (don't even want to know) and weird gray stains. Tub had hair inside and other small debris. The inside of the coffee machine was dirty as well. When I opened the ice bucket, a fly flew out and it bugged us all evening cuz we couldn't catch it. The tv didn't work when we just got in and the guy who fixed it barely said a word to us. After leaving the room for a few hours to get dinner and coming back and deciding it was too dirty to stay in, the people at the front desk said there was nothing they could do about it. No room change or discount/refund (it was over 200$ for a one night stay). will not be staying again
Reasonable price, cheap place to stay in S D. Area around hotel not too bad, seems safe enough. Bathroom was clean and in good shape, bed was clean and comfortable. It was quiet at night. Would stay here again for the price Inside facilities showing it's age. Carpeting, furniture showing wear and tear. Small rooms w too much furniture in them. Driveway entrance, parking lot is a little tight space wise. Don't expect a nice view.
It was an adequate place to sleep while exploring SD
The room was small but had a mini-refrigerator and a microwave + coffee maker. The location is convenient to all area highways, very easy to get anywhere. The staff is nice and the room service s doing their best considering how badly the rooms need repairs Getting in and out of the property is super-awkward, the driveway is tiny and very easy to miss. The elevator looks like the one in the public parking garage. The rooms are tiny and the walls are paper-thin, you will hear each word your neighbours (or their TV) say. Light switches in the bathroom were half broken and the fan sounded like a jet on takeoff.
It was very clean and well decorated; which gave it a modern feel.
The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was a nice way to start the day. Friendly, helpful staff. I always stay at Super 8 - consistent in quality.
The room was clean; no complaints about service. Parking is extremely limited at night.
Easy access to where we needed to be. Breakfast room extremely crowded. Our room had a distinct order as if something was sprayed in room to mask an unclean room. Air conditioner needed a thorough cleaning.
We got there, slept, and left. It was really good for sleeping in and leaving from. The TV didn't have an HDMI port so we couldn't Chromecast movie musicals to it. It made me cry almost as hard as the movie musicals would have.
I was a little bit skeptical about booking a Super 8, but it turned out to be the nicest motel I've ever stayed at. The room was small but I didn't care since we were just a couple and we just needed a place to sleep. I was definitely impressed by how clean the room was and how friendly the staff also was! I will definitely try to book here the next time I'm in San Diego.
We ended up not staying because all they had was a smoking room and we had booked a non smoking one , but the staff was kind enough to allow us to cancel the reservation and not stay. Not really what we were looking for in a shirt get away
The location of the hotel was great. The cost of the room was great. I liked that it had a refrigerator and microwave. The "continental breakfast" was terrible. It consisted of coffee with non dairy creamer, instant oatmeal, and packaged nutrigrain bars and muffins. It would be hard to get away with not going out to eat for breakfast which takes away from the value of the hotel. I most likely wouldn't stay here again.
Rooms were big and exactly like the photos. The lobby was dirty, elevetar was dirty and the hall ways smelled.
Price Water pressure was good. Refrigerator/Microwave/TV Clean Additional paid deposit of $50 required at check-in. Staff gave room and access key to another person who walked in on us after we were there for 15 minutes. Very few electrical outlets, and what there were would not hold plugs in the wall. Too dark, not enough lighting. Stairs are steeper than modern motel. 2nd floor railings are lower than modern motel. Could not use bathroom outlets to charge electronic devices - when the lights timed off, so did the outlets. Door key cards had to be replaced 4 times over the time I was there - and I didn't have them next to any cards, wallets, etc. .....TOO MANY INCONVENIENCES.....
There pool was nice Very small room, old ran down motel very poor maintenance, all electrical outlet's were old, and when you plugged things in they came out. I plugged my cell phone in the only outlet that worked in the bathroom and while I was sleeping the gfci went out and I woke up to a dead phone for the day. One more thing that bothered me a little, I asked the front desk if they gave a military discount and she said yes but I can't get it because I was already getting a good deal.
The hotel is in the middle between the beaches and downtown, close to the old town. This makes it excellent for visiting the whole area. The room was nice and comfortable, Internet was ok. Sometimes parking is not enough for all guests, but you can easily find a place in the neighbourhood. The room was not cleaned completely everyday. Breakfast is poor and there is not a room to serve it. For someone traffic and airplanes can be a little noisy.
awful place and customer service. This place is very poor when it comes to customer service. As soon as i arrived, the lobby lady receptionist arguing with a customer over his deposit which, he mentioned did not received. While, I waited and waited to checked in, decided to go find the restrooms, which they replied, they dont have in the lobby and they are only inside the rooms so, i had to wait longer and longer until they finish arguing and dealing with other customer to get my room which it happens that they had no rsvp for me So, I decided to leave because, the waiting in lobby was awful, the treatment they gave me when i needed to use the restroom was really dissapointing. Bad energy, unprofessional people and lack of good customer service skills in this place. I will not invest or do my business there. No good!
nothing The bed looks dirty and you can hear the noise from the next room. It's a bad experience to stay at this hotel.
Nothing! The entire hotel was very dirty and grimy. There was 2 overdose's on the same night, did get any sleep due to the noise (police and fire), the bed was hard and the bed sheets did not feel clean. We checked out the next morning. Never going back.
Location was pretty good, right on CA-75 to go into Coronado and the Strand beaches. Very friendly and helpful staff. Price was reasonable. Hotel was being remodeled. Would have been nice to know this ahead of time. Walls feel paper thin, could hear everything going on in the hotel. No carpet, which is fine, however it could help with noise problem. Had 2 rooms with 2 people in each room, housekeeping only left one towel everyday during our stay. To be fair, after a call each morning, more were brought up.
The room was quiet and the location good. I killed the first of several roaches in the first 20 minutes. The continental breakfast was cereal, miniature sweet roll or toast. The room was spartan with a mini-flat screen. The room smelled musty. The towels and toilet paper were thin and the sheets rough. Stay at your own risk, don't believe the photos.
The staff was really nice and available A little far from San Diego unless you have a car, not suggested otherwise
Very clean for area Kids could not take breakfast to room
the place is under renovation. The room i stayed in is brand new. even though the place is still under renovation, the place is very clean with no construction dust. the hotel staff are very nice. I will be booking another date in the same motel.
Breakfast was provided and was open until 0930. It was hassle-free.
The front desk people were super nice! The carpet was filthy. Some of the electrical outlets were broken and not able to be used.
The staff was excellent. Very helpful, pleasant, and knowledgable about the area attractions.
For travelors that actually travel, and not lounge, then you will enjoy this hotel for it's location. The hotel is two blocks from the transit center. The transit center is a hub for trains, trollies, and buses. The trolley system is fast, and can reach all of San Diego in minutes with an all day pass of $5. The pass is also good for most bus routes. Old Town is a block away, and has the best food in all of sd. Mission Beach is 15 minutes away. I spent my time in the Gaslamp District and Old Town, and traveled with ease! Also, there is a liquor/mini store 3 blocks away for saving on meals, but most of Old Town has happy hours with super good deals on lots of food. Staff was kind, and room always fresh. The Wi-Fi was a little too slow. The pool was refreshing, but it would have been a tad nicer if slightly heated. The rooms seem to have a pre set tempature, so if you need it hot or need it cold, you're kinda stuck. It felt like it was at 67 degrees. I like it cold, so I just opened the bathroom window and the front window and created a natural draft that made it very enjoyable. I rarely stayed at the hotel though, due to my interest in really seeing the city. Comfy bed, hot showers, plenty of pillows.
Really like the service. Room was decent and clean. No odors. Best price I can find in the area. Easy parking. Great location. Unable to get the air conditioning to work. The walls are too thin; can hear neighbor's tv on all night.
Location No continental breakfast
Near old town, best price... Blanket, a little unconfortable...
The price and location were great. Also, we appreciated their early check in time (2pm). It was easy to get to and close to major freeways. Your double message is confusing. How can one write anything they didn't like and at the same time not complain? Anyhow, the clerk wouldn't give my wife a print out of our transaction and the total, as we checked out, and he informed her that the actual price of the room varies between us and Booking.com.so he couldn't tell her what it was. I had to go in and request a print out and inform him that the transaction was between us and the motel and not Booking.com. He finally gave me a print out with the total, which was the one we expected.
The Inn was on walking distance from cosy Old Town and the Old Town Trolley station. The rooms were spacious and adequately clean. The lack of heating in November when night time temperatures drop to about 10°C was rather uncomfortable. Nobody likes waking up in a cold room. Upon repeated requests the staff finally managed to put the heating system on. Unfortunately the heating system had a tendency to set the activate the fire detector.
Nothing really. The room was very old and had cracks everywhere. The restroom was falling apart as well as the tub. There was a weird door that had plants in it. very weird and dirty.
Bed was comfortable. Room renovations were nice. Price was good. Parking lot well lit. Old single pane windows hard to open and didn't do well for noise. Right next to the freeway, so a little more insulation would have been good. Refrigerator and AC were noisier than expected. Keycard didn't work. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom. Charged my credit card the next day for use of the in room safe even though I didn't use it. I do not appreciate being nickel and dimed especially, if not informed in advance. They should have just included the cost of the safe in the room price.
The cleanliness of the hotel. Except there was mildew on shower tiles. They charge you an extra $22.54 per pet per night. This is not told to you at all but you sign paperwork stating they are going to charge you when you check in. They don't tell you and you wouldn't know unless you fully read the small print. So get ready to pay extra then what you paid on Kayak. Also get ready for them to watch your every single step when your outside your hotel room. Talk about stalking.
Muy buena atencion Mala conexión wifi
Recently renovated hotel with nice hardwood flooring! Price was great, room was always cleaned in a timely fashion, and staff was really nice. The bed was also very comfy and it was great having a fridge/microwave! Had a family above us whose kids would run back and forth at very early hours (definitely not the hotel's fault, just maybe put families on lower levels??). Would be nice to have a better breakfast. Had one tray of pastries and coffee. Even putting out cereal, some fruit, and maybe bagels would be better!
everything was great. clean and comfy
Room was very clean and comfortable, one of the nicest hotels I've been too. Staff were also great particularly Yessica who checked us in, made us feel very welcome. The mini fridge in the room was disappointing it worked but did not cool well at all. It was room 112.
Great location. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Cute "beach" inspired decor. This hotel was under construction during our stay. They need a few improvements...double paned windows (the freeway is VERY noisy), towel rods and small overlooked details.
The hotel was clean but my moms complimentary water had already been drunk half way, the room was decent but as soon as we arrived after a long flight there was no hot water through out the entire hotel. We asked when it would be fixed and we were told we would have to wait till the next day. We had to be up very early the next day for a marine graduation so that was very inconvenient for my family and myself so we decided to cancel our reservation and made our way to a hotel that had running hot water. The customer service andno running hot water. Especially for the price.
Really liked the price and location. The staff was friendly and helpful. Had a laundry mat on site. Easy access to public transportation and freeway ,places to eat , stores, attractions. The bed was a bit hard.
said there was free wifi, but there was no free wifi
Room was clean and smelled nice. Train seemed to go by every 30 minutes which was very close to my room and the train always sounded it's horn. Bed was very uncomfortable. The mini-fridge did not work. TV was an old CRT.
Staff was rude/acted as if we were putting them out. Neighborhood is surrounded by homeless people living on the street unless you drive a smart car or motorcycle parking is joke. Nothing like to pictures.
Gave me an upgraded hotel for same price They were overbooked and got no warning. And the upgrade hotel was not much better weird smell
Good price, clean room, easy parking, close to everything we wanted to do friendly staff. A room marked as non-smoking smelled so badly of smoke, I could hardly breathe. Also there were old cigarette burns everywhere. No hairdryer.
Mike at front desk was awesome carpet was sopping wet had to stuff on floor so our wouldn't get wet
AC and the shower worked well. Underneath a freeway. Pretty sleezy, also had a lot of people smoking and making out in cars, etc. Refrigerator wasn't working. Had a cigarette burn on the counter in a non smoking room. Said freewifi but is 5.00 a day. Lady told us we need to come out by 12pm then the front desk said it was 11pm when she called at 12. ?????
Price -The bed quality was awfull. I didn't sleep well on it. My back hurt me when I wake up the morning. - The front desk was impolite with me. - I booked a room for 2 days, and they cancelled the second day in the morning without warning me because the hotel was already fully booked. This is unacceptable ! I had to find another hotel all the day
the second floor we stayed was nice. the male in the front desk the older dark male was rude to me and others waiting in line.
I did not realize that I had booked a room at the salvation army's homeless dormatory. Most of the other guest seemed to be homeless backpackers. The bed was good.
This motel isn't in the best location, because it's right under the freeway overpass and right next to the train. But I'm not gonna lie this motel was so clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. And if you don't want to spend so much on a nicer motel I recommend you just stay here.
Located close to airport for flights out. Located close to public transit and Old Town District.
We love San Diego and the Old Town Inn. We always stay there nothing
We requested and received a very quiet room. The room and hotel overall were very clean and the staff friendly. Free breakfast options included steel cut oats, no-crust quiche, and waffles. We had the oats, which were good. The fresh fruit was also high quality: oranges, green apples, and bananas. We didn't try the pool.
You can't beat the location Not the greatest hotel in the world but we didn't care because we were at the beach the whole time- easy walking to all shops I would stay here again Thin walls Very soft beds
Right on the beach. Close to all the restaurants and shops. Staff was very friendly. Free parking. Nice courtyard. We will stay here again but will pay the extra money for the king ocean view rooms. Very old, run down looking room. Needs updating. We reserved a regular queen room. The 1 window in the room looked out onto a brick wall (which was painted with a beach scene). The bed was definitely NOT a queen and was VERY uncomfortable. If you check in and they try to give you room #112, ask if they have ANY other room.
The atmosphere! It was quaint, clean and right across the street from the beach!
Location was ideal for beach and eating and shopping A little too pricey for what you got but location made it bearable
Right in front of the beach hardly any parking, rooms way to small, party hotel gangsters where staying right next to us and party all night and smoke right next to our door!!
Then ocean view Amenities. Very poor standard. I felt like I was in a 2 star hotel in some third world country. That place could have done better. The bathroom felt filthy. And what's with that air conditioner beside the bed?
The location was great. The view is awesome. Very quiet and friendly. If you wanted to bring your pet they are great with that. Second time staying there and will be staying there again in the future.
Great location. Next to a fabulous brunch place and less than a 5 minute walk from beach and restaurants. Super comfy bed. door was a little rusted and there was only a shower instead of a tub/shower.
Love the location& staff r very helpful A/c kept going off & prices r high
Location location location nice bed and washroom. Right next to a 2 block strip with everything from souvenir shopping to burgers or sushi The room was a bit small but everything was great besides that fabulous even. I will return for another stay.
Location, Room seemed newly remodeled, comfortable bed, hot showers, fridge, microwave, AC/Heating good, Excellent service by staff Nothing
Immaculate and Pefectly decorated. Free wifi. No ice and limited off street parking. But owner offered to help us find a spot if we had trouble. No microwave, or refrigerator but we knew that.
The price was great, the rooms were super clean, the shower had the best water pressure of all the places we stayed on our trip. The bed was comfortable and clean. The person who checked us in helped us find a place to park, was very polite and pleasant to work with. Overall, great experience. The only inconvenience we had was there is limited designated hotel parking available. That being said, we easily found parking on a safe street right around the corner, less than 500 feet away.
The room was was quite new and very clean. Bed was firm but supportive and sheets were upscale. Overall very comfortable room. There are only 6 parking spots for 18 rooms otherwise you have to park on the street. No ice machine, no pen or paper in room and no lamps on the end tables next to bed.
The location was great! It was in the center of a lot of San Diego hotspots. My fiance and I were staying here for spring break to visit Sea World and Balboa Park; it only took us ~15 minutes to get to both places from here. For what we paid for and for just a one night stay, the room was sufficient. It was very clean, especially the bathroom; and it seems like they just revamped the place recently. The bed was quite comfortable. Other reviewers complained about the noise level since it's on a busy main street, but our room was facing the street, and we were able to still sleep well and spend the night without being bothered. Overall, an excellent place to stay and well worth the money. I would definitely stay here again next time we visit San Diego. Parking was difficult because there were only 6 spots first-come, first-park in front.
The rooms were clean. The fact that it was in the middle of everything was very convenient. There wasn't enough parking for everyone there. I had to park on the street both nights I was there. There wasn't an ice or vending machine of any kind.
Appreciated the modern rooms. Very quiet and simple. Bathrooms were clean! No hairs found in the drains or corners. Absolutely no early check in. Even though house keeping is there at 9am, they will not give you a room till 2pm. There is no phone in the room. So you can't call to ask for anything. TV was very small.
Hotel staff was very helpful, clean rooms. Very near Marina and restarants Little noisey from busy street a long the front of the motel
The staff was very friendly. The only thing I did not like was the city noise. At night it was very noisy cars, planes, and people.
Great value, amenities in-room, easy access and quick check-in. Towels folded perfectly, cable tv, couch, kitchen, and work counter. Great high end bicycle store next door. Very close to fishing charters and airport. Linens were older but perfectly adequate. There was not enough parking on the property.
Took too long to give my deposit back
nothing I dont like the blankets and the carpet looks dingy and the carpet smell old
location noisy, dirty walls, water pressure, very scanty breakfast
I love the fact that there was a lot of stores and restaurants nearby, and also the Marine Corps Recruit Depot wasn't that far either.
I liked the layout of the rooms. There were two sleeping areas with separate air conditioning for both. The kitchenette and sitting areas were nice as well. The toilet was clogged and finally overflowed. One of the remotes for the two televisions did not work. There was no phone in the room to call the front desk. Housekeeping had left a cleaning rag on top of the toilet. There were vagrants at nighttime around the parking lot at the trash areas for the adjacent businesses.
Hotel room was dirty, carpet torn, internet did not work and bad smell in room. Recommend that the room be refurbished and up dated. Otherwise take the hotel off Kayak's list of hotels.
location is close to SeaWorld Pool was out of service, limited breakfast.
The only thing I liked was the fact that we didn't get stabbed. I booked his hotel because it had the best rating for a decent price. I just wanted to see my sister graduate from college and she didn't have the room for us to stay at her tiny condo. Here is what greeted us: As we walked in to check in there was a vehicle with a male driver and a female with nappy hair in front of us. I didn't think anything of it until we walked in ad. The guy that's was checking in was negotiating a cash price for his room. The guy at the counter told him that there would be an additional $60 fee. The guy agreed and went to the car to get the money: which is when we were called up front to check in. By the time we grabbed our keys, the cash customer walks back in. As we walked out the female was now out of the car barely holding her head up and two boxes under her feet; one of which had a crack pipe in it... We quickly got in our car and started driving towards our room when the black car in front of he check in shack almost side swiped us and fled the parking lot at 40+ mph. When we looked back we saw there was a cop car on the street and the lady who was leaning against the wall was making hand motions for the other car to leave. I turned to my husband and said "was that a drug deal or a prostitution deal?" When we got into the room everything looked clean. He shower was tiled with travertine; "wasted upgrades" I thought to myself. there was a hole for a fridge but the room didn't have a fridge. If I didn't think they would charge me for it I would have canceled the second night! We literally packed up our whole room and enjoyed our second day away from the hotel. When we got back that night, another surprise... Homeless people sleeping on the corner and no water!!!! Apparently we picked the only night they were going to work on water lines. We barely had enough water to brush our teeth. The next morning as we were eager to check out, I was just glad we didn't get shanked. Staff are nice enough but the area ruins this hotel.
