Located in Puyo, El Jardin Relax is on the riverwalk, within a 15-minute walk of Omaere Ethnobotanical Park and Puyo Cathedral. Featured amenities include luggage storage, laundry facilities, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: gorgeous hotel, excellent restaurant, beautiful location right on the riverwalk/malecon.
Cons: Restaurant and bar closed on Sunday (after breakfast) we only stayed Sat and Sun. But I am picking. a little far out of the center (could not comfortably walk into town but only 1.50 for cab in).
Pros: The hotel is in a quiet location by the river on the edge of Puyo, still within walking distance of the centre. The garden was absolutely gorgeous with all manner of birds, including parrots, flowers and butterflies. The room was spacious and modern. I had a covered patio with furniture as well as a hammock in front of my room. Breakfast was fresh and substantial. It was an altogether pleasant stay.
Pros: Peaceful atmosphere Away from the city center but walking distance from it No city noises Lovely grounds Kindness of the staff Excellent shower Nice breakfast Overall an excellent experience
Pros: Very relaxing stay at this hotel. Rooms was very large and clean. Great social areas with hammocks and the hot tubs were amazing (very hot!)
Pros: breakfast fruit was excellent; variety of main course would have been nice; two eggs (only) gets boring after a couple of days
Cons: noise from overhead neighbors
Pros: This hotel is part of the city but it´s located on the Puyo river shore so it´s in the middle of jungle area. In adittion, there are 3 guacamayos living in this area that connect you with Amazonian´wildlife every day. It´s a gorgeous place.
Cons: The parking lot is a little faraway so you always need contact to staff hotel to access there
Pros: This place is lovely! The gardens are beautiful and we even had 3 parrots flying around and landing in trees outside our window. Location is great - right along a lovely river walk, quiet and peaceful but also close to restaurants. We were able to book a jungle tour at the hotel next store, which had an office with tourism info. Breakfast was simple yet delicious - good coffee, fresh bread, fruit, eggs. We also ate in their restaurant (try their cinnamon chicken dish!) and everything was delicious. Sitting outside in the jacuzzi at night listening to the jungle sounds was a great bonus too!
Cons: The place was pretty empty, which was a bit odd, however I believe this was just due to it being "low season" around the orient. Not necessarily a bad thing, since we had the place to ourselves. We did see a tour group come through the restaurant one night so clearly it is a quality establishment.
Pros: Right on the boarder between Puyo and the rainforest, a very pleasant place to stay. It's a little rustic - comfortable rather than luxurious - but has a chilled vibe and lovely to be out of the main town centre. You can take a walk along the river, soak in the hot-tub to the sound of the jungle, and there are also a few restaurants etc in the area too
Pros: Probably the best location in Puyo to overnight. Perfectly integrated in the environment: you don't feel that you're sleeping in a city even if you're. Dinner and breakfast were superb and top quality compared to the average level in the rest of Ecuador. Room was very big and comfortable. They've a private parking lot 100mt far from the hotel.
Cons: Staff was ok but should be more professional considering the level of location.
Pros: loved the delicious food

At Hostal El Colibri each room has a TV, a private bathroom, and a patio with a garden view. An American breakfast is available daily at the accommodation.
Pros: Very friendly staff, Hot shower and good breakfast. Bus terminal and the Parque Omaere with in walking distance.
Pros: The location is great. Very close to the centre of town. Excellent breakfast. Very polite host. This is my second stay at the hostal. This is a very cosy place you want to come back to.
Cons: The wifi coverage was not so good everywhere (but it was actually fast, when it worked).
Pros: The person in charge was pleasant. The location was not far from what we needed to see.
Cons: Paying upon arrival is not a good sign. There was no hot water, not even the plumbing for it. The internet was not available most of the time. Although we paid for the full breakfast we were asked if we want the continental breakfast.
Pros: Very helpful staff, great breakfast. Small but functional room. Great Wifi!
Cons: Reservation was not correct in the number of beds
Pros: Room super clean... breakfast excellent... no noise... the all area smell of flowers...I'all definitely come back!!!
Pros: Staff is very nice and helpful. Good breakfast.
Cons: Our room was very smelly and not very clean. WiFi is very weak and barely works. Also, noice carries easily between rooms which made it hard to sleep.
Pros: Friendly host, centrally located but with a secluded feel to it :) breakfast was nice with some daily variatons.
Cons: We slept on the ground floor and could hear everything our upstairs neighbour did; every step they took made the floor creak, and we could even hear them brush their teeth!
Pros: Very cute little dog to play with. The plants, the kind host, pretty much everything.
Pros: Nice breakfast. Accommodating for Vegetarians. Coming and going was easy. Very friendly owner. Hot water.

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Location and clean.
Cons: No reading lamps by the bed. Not enough hooks from towels.
Pros: Very nice breakfast served with a smile.
Pros: This hotel was a little more than some of the others on booking, but I'm glad I paid it. It was worth it for the location (far enough away to be quiet, but short walk to 'centre' of Puyo), the comfort (very comfy bed and sheets, fabulous hot shower) and the delicious and plentiful breakfast. Family run, worth every penny. Gracias!
Pros: The place didn’t seem as friendly as all our other hostels. There was a lot of barking dogs and some of them were theirs.
Cons: It didn’t have that friendly cozy feeling.
Pros: Posada Real hotel is a beautiful little oasis set against the backdrop of Puyo's rainforest. From our balcony we could see the Puyo River and a panorama of beautiful trees. The morning light was lovely. Breakfast was sensational!
Pros: Lovely owners. Great tidy establishment. Secure parking, good breakfast. Even did my laundry a few times.
Cons: Bit expensive in comparison to the rest of town but larger rooms.
Pros: When I arrived at the hostel I was received by the owner and he was friendly enough to show me around the property. It is a 5 mins walk from the centre of Puyo, yet it is still far enough to be away from the hustle and bustle of the noise of the town. The location was perfect for me as it has the background of the river and the greenery. The room was clean and big, the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, it has a mixture of fruit, with yoghurt and granola, I especially loved their natural juices( Mora). I would recommend the place as the staff are friendly and attentive if you do have any queries, they are always happy to help.
Pros: Good location a little outside town, great facilities and room size.
Cons: Beds were probably the least comfortable of all we stayed in during our trip

Pros: The Hostal is run by the owning family. They are absolutely dedicated to 110% customer satisfaction. Upon arrival we asked for the next bar to have a coffe. No way, the lady of the house prepared a nice table and offered us fresh brewn coffe (on the house to be noted). Similar upon leaving. We had to leave early on sunday. Even thoug breakfast starts at 7:15 usually, we got ours served at 6:15. That's for the Service. The Hostal is situated in walking distance of the bus terminal. It is not exactly in the center (which is good at night, because it's absolutely calm), but the center is like a nice 10 minutes walk on a vivid road with shops and busy people. The Hostal is very clean, the beds were perfect. The acoustics of the house are very well too. We never were disturbed by other guests, arriving late or showering late/early or simply talking in theyr rooms.
Pros: Lovely place, super friendly and helpful stuff, excellent breakfast. I highly can recommend this lovely place. By the way: Wifi / Internet is excellent here
Pros: Great breakfast! Kind staf
Cons: Wifi didn t work
Pros: This hotel is in a good location - close to the bus terminal and the church of Christ we were working with. It is on a fairly quiet street and set back from the street so there is very little noise from passing traffic. The breakfast was good, though coffee was instant, not brewed. We were on the first floor in a large room. There was abundant hot water and water pressure was good in the shower. The staff were all very nice and accommodative. The bed was comfortable with adequate linens.
Cons: With mosquitos, it would have been nice to have some kind of screen on the windows, but that's not typical. I would choose a second floor room next time to reduce mosquito issues.
Pros: Breakfast was very good, staff was very nice, location is quiet and convenient to the bus terminal without being in the middle of downtown.
Cons: There was a shelf above the sink that made it a challenge to wash my face, as there are no washcloths.
Pros: Helpful staff .
Cons: Located in a large town .
Pros: Location and breakfast
Cons: Room had slight dog oder

Featuring a private bathroom with a bath and free toiletries, rooms at Hostal del Rio also feature free WiFi. A continental breakfast is available each morning at the accommodation.
Pros: Great staff and value for money. George is very helpful and place is super clean with lovely plants everywhere adding that special touch.Great breakfast too.
Pros: This is a charming hotel that is more than worth the value. It is well maintained, very clean, and the host is helpful and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again and sincerely recommend.
Pros: The owner was super accommodating. He set me up for an incredible excursion. I was very comfortable. The water was only warm but good enough. The place was beautiful and very safe. There was enough places to eat around or you can take a.10 minute walk to the center of town
Cons: I am a healthy eater and wish the breakfast had fruit or possible veggies added. It is convenient to eat there and comfortable. I just bought my own avocado and fruit and added it to the breakfast. Unfortunately all the restaurants and grocery stores lack healthy and vegeatian options. I left to get a nice salad, smoothie and healthy food. I went to Tena and have been loving the food. That said Puyo is a great place for excursions. We went with a group of 4 and ran into groups from Banos that had much larger groups. Our trip was fantastic.
Pros: The hostel is pretty cosy and very clean. There is a daily room service. Jorge, the owner/manager is running the hostel and is sooo nice and friendly. He helped us with everything! Because the hostel was almost empty he allowed us to use the kitchen so we could cook by ourselves! He organized an amazing 1 day jungle trip for us with a guide, Patricio. We really loved it! We highly recommend the hostel! Its located in the middle if the rainforest which is awesome!
Cons: Its a bit far from the city center (about 25 min to walk to a market) but there are some small shops in the surrounding. At the moment there is roadwork in front if the Hostal. But Jorge, the owner/manager told us right after we booked it so we had the possibility to cancel the reservation again. But we were not at the hostel during the day, we never mided it. (road work started at 7am and ended about 6pm). The rooms are a bit small with the big backpacks. But there is a closed.
Pros: I stayed in a single room and my 2 nights in Hostal del Rio went really well. It's all very clean, they changed the towels and provided soap and shampoo every day. The breakfast with eggs, coffee, bread and juice was yummy. The staff is really nice and Jorge - the owner - made me feel welcome during all my stay. Also, he was really nice in letting me leave one of my backpacks there while I was away for a week in the jungle.
Cons: The breakfast could come with normal coffee instead of coffee powder to stir, but appart of that everything was delicious.
Pros: Hostal del Río Is very cozy and clean. Jorge, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. The murals inside provide a good setting for preparing your tour around Puyo and the Pastaza Province.
Pros: Lovely owner. Great service. Adaquate breakfast. Ended up staying close to 10 days here instead, wifi was great. Central and had everything I needed. Had Hot water.
Cons: There was some construction going on and a bit of noise but was not the fault of the hotel. Size of the room was on the smaller side but great value for money. Had a large area outside the room to relax at.
Pros: Everything was just great.
Pros: Had balcony, was clean
Cons: Room was a little small
Pros: It was a good place for o a one night stopover at Puyo! we had good recommendations from the owner. Breakfast was good and staff was very helpful!
Cons: The location was not great, but it was ok for a stopover. Internet worked terribly and we could barely fit our backpacks in the room. We found the hotel too pricy for what it offered.

Pros: Essentially this was a great value place with lovely staff
Cons: Lighting could have been better in the bathroom. Not very centrally located so taxis needed especially at night
Pros: It was cool old colonial hotel which was like stepping back in time.
Cons: The hammock right in front of my room and, it's own little jungle, with it's resident birds, frogs, and other critters making assorted noise, almost like you're in the jungle, right in front of every room, great breakfast every morning as well.
Pros: The registration staff was very nice and they have a secure place to park our car in a small courtyard.
Cons: It is on a very noisy corner. The rooms are adequate but not very comfortable in our opinion.
Pros: Staff and breakfast were superb. location is good, but taxi is needed from bus terminal.
Cons: Noise! Hostal is on a corner and construction is on-going on one street and the other is a main street through town so much traffic noise. bring your ear plugs. Some rooms are very small.
Pros: The rooms along the garden are nice and we enjoyed the hammocks.
Cons: There’s a lot of street noise, even when in the courtyard.
Pros: This hostel is very well situated in Puyo, it has a beautiful garden and the "Las Palmas" breakfast is great!!
Pros: The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, with small but practical bathrooms. The garden and other facitilies are very nice too. The staff is welcoming and helpful and the hotel is well situated in Puyo.
Cons: As in many hostels in Ecuador, the curtains are very light and won't keep the lights out in the morning.
Pros: The location is a short walk to the Ecological Park and near a few restaurants. The bed was comfortable, and the water was warm and had decent water pressure. The breakfasts are great, really filling. The staff there are very helpful with any and all kinds of questions.
Cons: Wifi didn't work well on the second floor, although it seemed to do fine on the first floor. Street noise means you definitely need earplugs.
Pros: Beautiful building with hammocks and garden to relax Clean and Quiet room (in the back with garden view) Good location - 10 min walk to main square Option to park our car inside the gated property for free
Cons: Breakfast included but didn’t try due to early departure
Pros: Staff was very helpful! The breakfast was good. Spacious room with private bathroom and hot water.
Cons: Really noisy during the night because of the street. Ask a garden side room, it’s probably better.

Pros: surprise jacuzzi and Turkish sauna, decent pool and breakfast; very helpful manager
Cons: unnecessary reggaeton played at the pool; internet slow but that could be because of the Amazon region location; I recommend earplugs because of thin walls
Pros: The owner was really nice and the room was a little bigger than I expected. They lock the gate at night, but the owner gave me his cell phone number to call if we needed to get in after he closed it. Really nice amenities.

Pros: The breakfast was great and the rooms were fine. I liked that it was equipped with a television and the WiFi worked well. I also enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace at one of the desks with my laptop.
