We enjoyed the views and location. Nothing worth writing about.
reasonably priced, within easy walking distance of town rooms slightly small
The service in the restaurant, by Lauren, was excellent. She worked very hard by herself all evening Check in lady was pre-occupied
The manager and staff were very polite. The breakfasts were excellent each day of our stay. A very pleasant location with a lovely view from the dining room whilst enjoying the good food.
Courteous staff, warm, clean room & the best buffet breadkfast I have ever had. Expensive bar prices.
Its location situated near to a very nice beach--Portminster. N/A
Spacious, comfortable room with fantastic views of Porthminster Beach and St Ives Bay. Excellent unhurried breakfast (buffet) in large restaurant.
friendly, efficient staff and a good location
Excellent staff No bath
Breakfast was perfect. noise from corridor and adjoining rooms
The whole stay was very good Was surprised charged extra for room service
Hotel clean with fabulous grounds and view. Room a bit noisy in the night as I think we may have been next to the boiler room. Don'nt think that the bath would have suited an elderly couple.
Location and view of St Ives All leisure facilities were very tired and not very clean. Room was a throwback to the 70's. Cannot believe it would ever fetch £175 per night as advertised on your site
View Creaky flooring
Warm water in pool! Fab sea view. Beautiful grounds & lovely old building. Clean room, great breakfast and very friendly check-in reception Steps to pool & the changing room floors were cold; being stone. Changing rooms in need of re-furb. Plumbing in room was a bit noisey and toliet flush was not all that effective.
A really good impressive hotel and supporting staff Main evening meal was not served as hot as I wold have expected it to be. I consider warm food to be a poor reflection of an otherwise very good hotel
Stunning sea views Radiators didn't work in the bedroom or bathroom. Cold & drafty rooms. We did complain at the time but haven't heard back from the hotel. Shame as main hotel is very nice. Wouldn't stay here again based on this alone.
the evening meal. Did not expect carvery for the price and it wa.s very bad
Position of the hotel in terms of views. The grounds of the hotel were also very attractive The check-in time were strictly enforced - no ley way for couple with baby. The shower broke down on second night. Decor needed updating in room and corridors, especially carpets. No air-conditioning in rooms, and struggled to get a fan. No iron and ironing board - they only had a laundry room on ground floor.
Great hotel, huge and beautiful terriotry None
Excellent location, nice view of the beach and sea from the room, nicely decorated rooms, good breakfast, parking at 6 pounds a day right next to the hotel. Totally recommend it. And it's cheap. Rooms are quite small and because they are very well isolated (the beach is right outside), we ran out of oxygen during the night and had to open a window. So we recommend airing the room right before you tuck in.
The location - sea views Room was too small
The views out of the bedroom and public areas are superb. The bedroom, and hotel for that matter, was very well decorated and comfortable. It is very conveniently placed for the railway and bus stations.
Location as beautiful as advertised and very convenient. Room good, lovely view. Staff seemed a bit off-hand. Disappointed by food.
Extremely good value having booked via internet and got a late booking. Hotel well located. Has probably the best view of any hotel we have stayed at. Accomodation- room small but very comfortable, well equipt and clean. Staff very friendly.Breakfast was of a very high quality. Stayed on b&b basis so cannot rate evening meals. Access to hotel from car park could be difficult for the less able, but this is a small price to pay for the beautiful location.
The sea view, how friendly the staff were.
The food was outstanding, the staff were very attentive and the view from the room was incredible. The cleaniness of the room apart from the mildew was excellent. There was mildew on the bottom of the shower screen and on the edge of the bath sealant in the room and the choice of channels on the tv was poor.
Location, views and homely atmosphere Only real "complaint" was the shower was very cramped.
The friendly and helpful staff who were always willing to be of assistance. It is hard to find anything unsatisfactory, our room was cold (because of the exceptional weather) but this was quickly rectified by our radiator being adjusted and two extra heaters supplied.
The sea view
found the staff so friendly and nothing was any trouble to them
Beautiful sea views, close access to beaches, helpful staff and relaxed atmosphere.
the location and the excellent staff the work ongoing at the hotel, although this did not constitute a negative in the time we stayed there
Location & facilities Noisy room, uncomfortable bed, smelly bathroom - no window & no extractor fan
Moden bedrooms and fantastic views
The family room was very spacious and comfortable to stay.
Service was excellent and nothing to much trouble. good value Nothing
The rooms were tastefully furnished , clean and comfortable.
Excellent food, good service, friendly staff, excellent facilities The hotel Internet access PC was down and remained out of use for the duration of our stay. Not a problem for us but foreign guests might have wanted to log on - I had not expected the facility but to have it and then post a notice only disappoints people - better to remove it completely.
The room eceeded our expectations, the setting was fantastic, overlooking the bay. The service in the restaurant was too fussy.
Greeted by friendly welcoming staff on arrival and was given a room upgrade . The views from the hotel and bedrooms are amazing no sea glimpses here.Very comfortable warm and well furbished room. The leisure area was lovely with a sauna, selection of gym equipment and pool where I worked up an appetite for dinner which was first class with lots of choice. Excelent vegetarian options and breakfast was just as good again restaurant staff were warm, friendly and helpful. Being a family run hotel and restaurant gives it that personal touch. I cant wait to go back with my family very very soon !
The location was perfect, just a 5 min walk to the Carbis Bay beach and a 5 min train ride to St Ives (or a 20 min walk). The staff were absolutely lovely and very welcoming/informative. I had a great sea side view! The breakfast was very generous for the cost as well! The hotel is not very sound proof. The room I was in seemed to have some soft of water pump go off every 30-40 seconds that never stopped. Also heard lots of noise above me and in the hallways. The bed was not comfortable, it was hard and very springy. There did seem to be some mold in one cornerr near the windows, as well as a spider in my shower.
