Pros: What a fantastic surprise ,this BnB was superb, the best we've ever stayed in,almost better than 5 star hotel....Donnas cooking ,the hospitality, the VIEWS from every window..and it was glass window everywhere. It was definitely a priviledge to have them open their beautiful home to us.
Pros: Donna and Phil welcomed us into their beautiful home and did everything to make our stay great. Their large, beautiful house lies right at the sea, were you are woken up by an amazing sunrise. Our room was very spacious and had a very comfortable bed. Donna and Phil served us delicious homemade breakfast every morning.
Pros: Best B&B in the world

Pros: The owners went above and beyond our expeditions during our entire stay.
Pros: Gorgeous property and location.
Cons: It’s about a hour drive to bar harbor-longer than I might have thought
Pros: Three course delicious breakfasts. Flowers multiple places in the room. Amazing ocean views. Delightful hosts.

Pros: Bed was very comfortable. Clean, new, staff was nice, breakfast was very good!
Cons: TV didn’t work, staff helped to fix it. Microwave was not plugged in, had to stand on head to plug in. Breakfast ended at 9:30, other hotels have ended it at 10. That extra half hour makes a lot of difference. A lot of noise comes through the door, was awakened very early both mornings with guest leaving. And the real kicker is the maid didn't make our bed and take out the trash. Not really close to Bar Harbor or Acadia. On this trip we have stayed in hotels as nice or nicer for half the price. Main complaint, not worth the cost.
Pros: breakfast had real food and the coffee had options for syrups or creamers. There was also yogurt and hard boiled eggs in the fridge. Plenty of carbohydrates if you eat those too
Pros: Conveniently located, friendly staff, very clean room, good amenities, dog friendly
Pros: Friendly and efficient staff. Room was comfortable and clean very conveniently located
Pros: Wonderful experience
Cons: No iced coffee in the morning
Pros: The breakfast and other food service provided was excellent and convenient.
Cons: I can think of nothing negative regarding my stay here.
Pros: The accommodations were absolutely spotless. This was by far the cleanest motel/hotel I have ever stayed in. The comfort level was a 10+, the breakfast was super, the breakfast area was clean, and the staff was amazing...
Cons: There was nothing to dislike. It truly was an unbelievable experience for us...
Pros: Lovely accommodation- no pool but able to use Ramada Inn pool by showing Comfort Inn key card. Parking and location good for our travel arrangements.
Cons: I could not believe that there were no pedestrian crossings to accommodate access to other side of the street. I had to drive over which is a bit ridiculous.
Pros: Breakfast was very good
Cons: Price was very high for location. Difficult to enter an exit property
Pros: Great Breakfast, the location was in a good location near many restaurants.
Cons: At times there were to many dogs barking.
Pros: Probably the cleanest bathroom I've ever seen in a hotel!
Pros: I brought my 2 labs and they were welcomed there which was great the staff way very nice and helpful and accommodating
Cons: Everything was great

Cons: No bacon f breakfast
Pros: Great place, people and service
Cons: Too high price
Pros: Great breakfast! Myo waffle station and everything! The beds were nice and clean.the staff was super accommodating. Can't complain at all!
Cons: I can't say there is something I didn't like. But there wasn't necessarily an Ocean view. Although they don't advertise that lol
Pros: Breakfast was very good and mattress was very comfortable.
Cons: Wifi could be better. Had to reconnect every time I picked up my device.
Pros: Everything was great!
Cons: Pool was very busy, and small.
Pros: The room, the food and the silence.
Cons: The cleaning
Cons: Pool to cold
Pros: the beds r super comfortable and spacious bathroom
Cons: Could hear the elevator dinging and the pool is cold
Cons: The pillows
Pros: Very convenient location. Close to good dining choices and a Walgreens next door.
Cons: Disappointed that the breakfast selections where limited. No white bread or plain bagels available for toast. Only three choices for yogurt
With a stay at Open Hearth Inn in Ellsworth, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island Oceanarium. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available 24 hours).
Pros: Great place to stay for a visit to Acadia. I've stayed at three different inns both on and around Mount Desert Island, and this is the nicest one I've stayed at of the three. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated, check-in was easy, and overall I thought it was a great value. Would definitely stay again!
Pros: The price was the draw, and we had a suite upstairs that was very quiet. It included TV, microwave, fridge and was comfortable. We had A/C and the bath was tiny, but very clean and adequate. We were surprised to find freshly baked muffins (delicious) and a basket of fruit in the morning. The owner was delightful and friendly. For the price it was perfect for us. This hotel offers a variety of types of rooms, definitely no cookie cutter here!
Cons: No good way to enjoy breakfast in the room. We brought yogurt, fruit and rolls and had to balance them on our laps on a sofa. Could have used paper towels or a 'bar cloth' around the coffee maker for spills.
Pros: Everything! The place was very nice & quaint. The owner was very nice, friendly & helpful. Great hospitality ! Oh, and the muffins the owner baked every morning, were delicious.
Cons: Nothing! Everything was excellent!
Pros: The owner/manager was very friendly and helpful. The blueberry muffins were excellent! And the cottages were very quaint. We also loved the location next to the airport.
Cons: Uncomfortable bed
Pros: Cute place. Beds were comfortable and the owner/manager treated us like family!
Cons: A little far away from Bar Harbor but the free shuttle helped!
Pros: Spotlessly clean, lovely staff. A lot cheaper than staying in Bar Harbor, and only 10min drive there. Absolutely suited our needs.
Cons: Nothing, it was right near the little airport, but didn’t really hear the planes at all.
Pros: Cabin was awesome. Location great, down road from Acadia. Lobster and icecream across the street. Amazing homemade 3berry muffins for breakfast!
Pros: Quaint cottages near Bar Harbor, comfortable beds, great sunroom with large hot tub.
Cons: Too close to busy road, rather expensive for what it is.
Pros: Nice home baked muffins and coffee in morning.
Pros: Wonderful breakfast muffins
Cons: Office hours are limited
Pros: Very close to Acadia National Park. Cute property. Was very small tho. And my cottage was too close to road.. it needed more cleaning. Many travelers there have worn this cute spot and not been respectful. The original pine wood walls are a treasure. Garden was adorable. Every cottage had an outdoor space.
Cons: Carpet was not clean. Was very small. Wicker chair was filthy and broken. Others just don't take care and trash places. Not very respectful... Little tiny storage. It is ok For 1 for a day or so but very cramped..
Located in Ellsworth, Acadia Sunrise Motel is a 5-minute drive from Mount Desert Island Oceanarium and 6 minutes from Timber Tina's Great Maine Lumberjack Show. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge during limited hours, and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Good kitchennet with almost everything we needed. It could be better if we can find some oil. Clean restroom. Quite location but not far away from the market, park and highway.
Cons: The housekeeper opened the door before the check-out time. At that time, we were still on the bed ...
Pros: Location is convenient to the Acadia National Forest, nearby restaurants and grocery store. Heated swimming pool, playground and picnic areas are great for families.
Pros: Super friendly staff
Cons: Very bad wifi connection in our room and right next to main road.
Pros: The neg thing we can say about this place was that it could clean the walls and cupboards etc better. Just needed a good wipe down.
Pros: Very comfortable mattress. Thin and thick pillows provided, to suit either preference. Hot water comes on immediately and is just the right temperature. Multiple interior locks for security. Staff is very friendly and eager to share experience about Acadia NP and surrounding area.
Cons: Room is small. Bed takes up most of space. Small table with single wooden chair. Only 4 clothes hangers, no dresser. Bathroom very basic. Bath towels thin. This queen bed room was adequate for 1 person, but would be tight for 2 people.
Pros: Good price
Cons: Next to the airport. Some bugs since it was next to open fields.
Pros: Size of room. Location.
Cons: Room was only cleaned on the first day. Had to go to the office to request shampoo, coffee, creamer. Bathroom sink did not drain properly. Road noise.
Pros: Chairs to sit outside, picnic area, fire pit.
Pros: Clean, nice, affordable lodging near Acadia.
Cons: WiFi was spotty, pool closes early.
Pros: Good location on the way to Bar Harbour and Acadia National park which was c. 20 minute drive. Right on the road but the a/c unit blocks the traffic noise. Nice outside area with places to sit, a pool and play area for children. Handy laundry facilities.
Pros: We had adjoining rooms and had a kitchen in the one which we found very handy. There were grills and a fire pit which we used and were glad for. The maid even washed our dishes for us! We attended the little Baptist Church across the road.
Pros: Very friendly staffs
Located in Ellsworth, Isleview Motel and Cottages is within a 15-minute drive of Wild Acadia Fun Park and Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: We were looking for a cheap motel and feel we got a good deal. The building was old (expected) but in good condition and clean. The bathroom was a comfortable size and the bed was also comfortable. The password protected wifi worked well. The location was conveniently just outside of Acadia National Park. Overall our stay was pleasant and comfortable.
Cons: On the downside, we expected traffic so close to Acadia National Park, but turning onto the busy highway was more difficult than anticipated. The traffic noise didn't bother us but could be a problem for a light sleeper. There was no place in the bathroom except the toilet seat to put our stuff and not enough space for hanging clothes.
Located in Ellsworth, Twilite Motel is in a rural location, within a 5-minute drive of Woodlawn Museum and Ellsworth Public Library. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: It's in a great location to visit Acadia NP and reasonably priced. Cozy room. There is an excellent seafood restaurant nearby. Breakfast cakes and coffee were delicious.
Pros: Great for a one night stay. Management was Great1
Cons: Bed wasn't that comfortable
Pros: Everything was fine. Clean room and friendly office.
Pros: Great, friendly staff, onsite laundry, coffee maker on room!
Cons: Beds are so, so comfortable.
Pros: Price, easy check in and out, and friendly staff.
Cons: Musty smell, coffee packets in the room were not replenished daily, however there was free coffee in the office.
Pros: The location is quite close to Arcadia. Room is very clean .
Pros: The manager was so nice.
Cons: The room smelled musty no ac couldn’t open window as screen was ripped tv didn’t work hard to use remote.
Pros: Location Family run small business
Cons: Very small shower that pounded a short persons face. We were told last room available.get there late and there was no one at this place.
Pros: This family run motel is wonderful! Our room was like a little cabin which made us feel like we were in someone’s guest room. The owners and their sweet dog were very nice. We were surprised how quiet it was too. Would’ve stayed longer, but we had to catch a ferry!
Cons: The lighting in the room was a little confusing.
Pros: Very friendly and honest staff. I was trying to stay in Bangor for work but everything around the area was priced astronomically due to high demand (there was a concert in town). However, the owners stay true to providing a great destination and a fair price.
Cons: The bed was a little firmer than I'm used to.

Pros: The staff was always friendly. They have a snack area with multiple things to purchase, instead of just a vending machine. The breakfast was very good, and everything was extremely clean. It was a great location, right next to LL Bean outlet, TJ Max, grocery store, and Walmart. I would definitely stay there again.
Cons: Pool area was very stuffy, even with the doors to the outside open. It needs to be vented better.
Pros: Close to many things and especially bar harbor.
Cons: Exhaust fan noise and uncomfortable bed
Pros: Breakfasts were good & wait staff very accommodating
Cons: My room had a funny smell & microwave was not cleaned
Pros: Whole stay was great
Cons: More lights in room at night
Pros: Central location, plenty of shopping and attactions nearby. Decent pool, very friendly staff.
Cons: Definitely showing signs of age everywhere. TV was not the best. Breakfast was typical hotel variety, we went out for better.
Pros: Comfortable room
Cons: No sauna and whirlpool. Was removed but still pictured in brochure/online.
Pros: Nice size room with soft, comfy beds. Very large, clean pool. Nice staff. Good coffee. Delicious cookies in the lobby. Good breakfast with a lot of variety. (No waffles though) Spacious breakfast area with nice outside deck. Close to stores (grocery, clothing, hardware) and restaurants.
Cons: The room seemed a little damp from the air conditioner. The toilet used way too much water and didn't flush everything down the first time. A little farther from Acadia than I would've liked, but because of cost it was fine.
Pros: breakfast is pretty good, and the bed is very good.
Cons: unluckily, I got the worst room in this Ramada. It is next to vending machine which is pretty loud although there are lots of room empty. When I checked out, I would like to pay cash instead of card. The lady took my cash and ask me if I was OK with express check out receipt which had $329 balance on it. When I insisted to have a new receipt, she told me the printer seem to be slow or may have some problem. After a few minutes insisting and waiting, the printer started to work again. When I went through this whole check out process, I felt I just avoided something here.
Cons: Sheets were dirty! Garbage wasn’t picked up after housekeeping came in
Pros: Very friendly front desk staff offering us a warm welcome. Free coffee/tea and cookies all day and night. Nice breakfast with a.o. Omelet, bagels, yoghurt, cupcakes & cookies, fruit and sweet cereals. Small shop with vending machines available in the lobby. Big nice supermarket right next door.
Cons: The view from our room was not nice as we were facing the swimming pool building wall. Noisy in the mornings when the cleaning team is starting their round and/or people are talking in the corridor as the rooms are not very soundproof.
With a stay at Eagle's Lodge Motel in Ellsworth, you'll be a 2-minute walk from Birdsacre Sanctuary and 13 minutes by foot from L.L. Bean Shopping Outlet. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Ideally located just 5 minutes’ drive from Acadia National Park, this motel features an outdoor swimming pool. Free WiFi access is available. A TV and refrigerator are included in each guest room at Acadia Pines Motel. The private bathrooms are equipped with a hairdryer and free toiletries. Guests at the Motel Acadia Pines can use the free shuttle service to explore the surrounding area. The property offers free parking. Kebo Valley Golf Club is 9 minutes’ drive from Acadia Pines Motel. Bar Harbor is 10 minutes’ drive.
Pros: The rooms were very clean, the pool was clean, and the location was very accessible to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Also that we were able to barbecue on one corner of the wide lawn.
Cons: Despite the cleanliness, the age of the Motel showed - bathroom sink stopper broken, toilet seat detached at one end, bedroom lamps were wobbly, and beds were too sunken for comfort. The protective cover on bathtub floor to prevent slipping was too old and dirty I tried to take it off unsuccessfully. One staff was very welcoming and friendly; but another was rude and condescending when I tried to ask a favor which other hotels would have accommodated, of course for an additional charge. My nephew who heard my conversation with the said staff described her as rude. It is ironic that the motel’s signboard says below its name, “Friendly Staff”
Pros: Would stay there again. Very nice and clean.
Pros: Good location for Acadia National Park
Cons: No on-site snacks or drinks for purchase.
Pros: The location was close to Bar Harbor, but not near the congestion observed near the pier. A BBQ joint was about 500 feet from this location and so was another restaurant and miniature golf place.
Cons: The room needed some tweaks to make things better, such as the plumbing, better towels, air conditioning and the cleaning of cobwebs along the ceiling moulding.
Pros: It is conveniently located. Restaurants are within walking distance. Great miniature golf course right across the road Home made ice cream right next door.
Pros: Staff was very nice, close to town but not crowded
Pros: It was clean and nice location but feel it was overpriced
Cons: The price was too high and staff was less than friendly
Pros: Very clean and convenient to Acadia natl Paarl.Friendly managers, quiet. Breakfast place nearby. 10min to downtown.
Cons: Very small bathroom. Mattress felt like a waterbed. If not, need to replace with a firmer mattress.
Pros: I really was worried about what we would find. If you are really picky about a room and normally pay up because of it, then you will find this room minimally meeting your expectations. It had a second bedroom which made up for the older style. Clean room.
Cons: Too far from Bar Harbor, but not too far.
Pros: It was near enough to drive to Bar Harbor and there was a good restaurant nearby to walk to. It was near an entrance to Acadia.
Cons: We had hoped to be closer to the ocean and to have views, and sometimes it took time to drive where we wanted to go.
Pros: Good location
Cons: Poor plumbing, sink backup, shower weak
Pros: Affordable, comfortable, clean, quiet and good location.
Cons: Older and tiny bathroom.
With a stay at The Sanctuary Inn and Art Gallery, you'll be centrally located in Ellsworth, within a 10-minute walk of Ellsworth Public Library and Grand Theatre. Featured amenities include express check-out, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The room was large and the beds were comfortable.
Pros: The room was clean and comfortable.facilities were well kept and the breakfast delicious! Definitely coming back to stay another night or two when we travel up to Maine !
Cons: This place smells bad - it was a former nursing home, and the smell still lingers very strongly. They claim they are working on the place, but are also turning it into an art gallery. They need to focus on one project or the other - much of the building has unfinished wood trim or poorly applied paint. It still looks like a nursing home.
Pros: Large room and comfortable bed. Yummy breakfast. Easy walk to downtown.
Pros: Convenient, good proximity to local areas. But did not know it was a former nursing home.
Cons: Kinda creeped out knowing it was a former nursing home. But owners were awesome. Nice otherwise. Bathrooms could use and update.
Cons: It still has the appearance of a Nursing Home which is what it was. The coffee machine (at breakfast) was only capable of making 4 cups at a time, so all guests were waiting for it to finish, before the proprietor started it afresh.
Pros: Breakfast served each morning. Very large room with new bathroom fixtures and baths. Very clean and comfortable beds. Elevator to 2nd floor. Owners very nice and informative about the area.
Cons: In the process of renovating the bldg into a B&B. Wasn't quite finished with all the renovation, but still a good place to stay.
Pros: We were very satisfied with all aspects of the property and of our stay. We were aware that the facility was being converted from a former nursing home property and were impressed with the progress that the owners have made. The room was clean and comfortable. It had everything that one would expect from a B&B property. The staff was wonderful, very personable, helpful and accommodating. Breakfast had many options and all were delicious.
Cons: We have no complaints, perhaps a couple of suggestions that might be good. One would be to perhaps add a towel bar in the new shower room to dry towels after showers. The other a possible addition of another chair for watching tv or reading. Neither of these things would keep us from returning to this property and we offer them only to be helpful to the owners.
Pros: Friendly owner
Pros: Loved the friendly owners, the breakfast (simple but good) and the location.
Cons: The room I stayed in needed more shelves or a dresser. I was there for an extended stay and lived out of my suitcase, since there was no place to put my shelves. Also, it would be nice to be able to turn off the very loud fan in the bathroom. Otherwise, I loved my stay and would recommend this place!
With a stay at Atlantic Coast Inn, you'll be centrally located in Ellsworth, just a 3-minute walk from L.L. Bean Shopping Outlet and 12 minutes by foot from Birdsacre Sanctuary. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Remodeled room was nice.
Cons: No amenities. Limited vending.
Cons: Chinese taste was too much. Crazy White obese people were talking outside at midnight.
Cons: Bed WiFi connection was iffy
Pros: EAsy check in and check out. Didn't see a soul
Cons: No breakfast
Pros: owner was very helpful in meeting our needs.
Pros: Location was good for us...plenty of shopping and restaurants close by. Room small but comfortable and included a fridge & micro. Restroom area modern & nice. Staff friendly. It was convenient to have a keyless entry so no need to keep track of a room key.
Cons: Believe it was a bit pricey since no breakfast was included. The carpeting felt wet/damp so had to wear footwear at all times. Pretty cramped, but for a short stay worked fine.
Pros: Very clean and cute rooms. Marie was very nice.
Pros: Location was good
Cons: No ironing facilities
Pros: Located a reasonable drive to Bar Harbor. Very short distance to center of Ellsworth. Right across tbe street from a great diner (Martha's Diner). Staff very accommodating.
Pros: Great location and friendly staff
Cons: The bathtub was extremely slippery.
Pros: The location is super convenient with a restaurant for dinner onsite, and a great breakfast place just across the street.
Cons: The 4 of us would have liked a bit more room. Our room was small for four people.
Pros: THe front desk went far and above accommodating my needs for quiet and a desk and receiving and holding mail for me.
Cons: Its on a busy street, but not noisy toward the back. Older property with cobbled repairs, upkeep and “improvements.” But its clean, beds are ok, furniture old and mixmatched, sketchy electrical, carpet needed cleaning, toilet ran in two rooms I had, housekeeping doesn’t make or change bedding, inconsistent coffee and towel supply, but this is nitpicky given the price, fantastic front desk, easy, fast check in and out, easy access to stores, national park and points in any direction.
When you stay at Acadia Gateway Motel in Ellsworth, you'll be by the ocean, within a 15-minute walk of Wild Acadia Fun Park and Kisma Preserve. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
Pros: Very clean. Fair price.
Cons: Bathroom dated but clean.
Pros: The bed was a rock.. only 2 pillows.. no phone or clock..minimal at best
Cons: Cleanilness only good thing
Cons: No refrigerator or microwave no ice. No shampoo. Maid did not speak English
Pros: Clean, comfortable, good value to price.
Cons: Cramped space especially in the bathroom. Sink was very close to front of the toilet.
Pros: Location good, easy on/off to main road, good wi-fi and great tv
Cons: Wash basin is in main room.
Pros: Great hotel with extremely spacious rooms. The place is clean, staff is super friendly. Pretty much the best deal you can get around Acadia National Parks. Also park is just 20 minutes drive. Lots of parking
Pros: Clean room for a night. Just 20 minutes ride to most points of interest in Acadia. Good plaza nearby with food and supermarket.
Cons: Bathroom appliances need renovation. The shower has only too-hot and too-cold options.
Pros: The owners were great friendly helpful and the place was super clean great service
Pros: Breakfast consisted of coffee and donuts. Very good coffee. The room shared a patio with the neighboring room. Very pleasant.
Cons: The bed was marginally uncomfortable but not so bd we could not sleep.
Pros: Very clean. Newly remodeled. Can tell that the owners care about their property.
Pros: owner very friendly and very concerned that guests stay was comfortable. Very clean, bed comfortable. small unit but perfect for my needs
Cons: nothing stood out.
Pros: Location near the parks and nature centers. Reasonable cost.
Cons: Unable to open windows at night as our room was facing a highway.
Pros: Clean,excellent water pressure!
Cons: Under rehabilitation, but still ok.it will be a great upon completion.no cooking(microwave).small fridge.
Cons: I used the Booking.com filter to find a pet friendly places and this place came up so we booked. The first evening there, I was speaking with Man owner who was very upset about their no pet policy I explained my military veteran huband’s emotional support dog we have all the appropriate paperwork. We did not know about the no pet policy so we agreed to stay one and they would only charge us for one night. We never would have booked if they did not allow dogs.
Pros: Nice cottage, rural area.
Cons: No cable, no internet (it was listed at the time I booked), no hot water (It may have gotten fixed later), and the property demanded I pay for half the nights I didn't stay. No modern hotel would treat a guest like this.
Pros: We had the last purple cottage next to the road and to my surprise it was extremely quiet. Cottage was clean and the ac worked well. Internet is a little spotty but that is to be expected.
Pros: This clean spot was perfect for our quick overnight stay before moving on. Close to Ellsworth for dinner and grocery shopping.
Pros: Cute, clean, comfortable, we stayed here two yrs ago, it's under new management, but pretty much the same. The new owners seem to be making some improvements, the wi-fi was better this time around, the tv had a roku so you can watch your Netflix ECT, I thought that was a nice feature. The rooms are your basic hotel room in a cottage setting, located on rt 1, just out of Ellsworth center, it takes about 40min to drive out to MDI, but it's convenient to have to pass through a town with "real" stores, Wal-Mart, chain supermarkets, 24hr gas stations ect. It's very quiet, all in all we had a lovely stay and would highly recommend this establishment.
Cons: A couple of minor things, they have a little coffee bar set up in the room, a little jar of coffee, selection of sugar packets, and creamer but no utensils, ie. No spoon to measure, or stir your coffee. Also there was no instructions for the tv, I figured it out but it took me a min.
Pros: The streaming tv was nice. Good location. Very clean
Cons: Ceiling got wet from rain. Maintenance man was not helpful. Moved to different room next day.
With a stay at Leona's Motel in Trenton, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island Oceanarium. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: clean, well furnished, comfortable bed
Cons: bathroom very small (cramped-wash basin in living room) old style TV (not HD) no vending or ice
Pros: Room was clean and affordable
Cons: Amenities and hospitality. - no hooks for towels - no info sheet on wifi info or property amenities - no ice on property - shower head didn’t have good pressure and switch between shower and faucet became stuck, so couldn’t switch between the two - housekeeping stopped by and replaced the towels but didn’t take the trash or provide more soap beyond the tiny bar included on Day 1 - proprietors weren’t very personable - location loud due to noise from nearby highway
Located in Ellsworth, The Colonial Inn is in a national park, a 4-minute walk from Birdsacre Sanctuary and within a 5-minute drive of Timber Tina's Great Maine Lumberjack Show. Featured amenities include laundry facilities, ATM/banking services, and a vending machine. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Off the main highway
Cons: Annex seems to be in renovation - bed was not comfortable and room was just old and window air unit was not the best
Cons: Centrally located
Pros: Good check-in.
Cons: Hotel pool was out of service and towels were not in room until requested after check-in. Room was reserved primarily as a result of indoor pool, so visit was less than satisfactory as a result. Bed was terrible, as well. Would not stay here again.
Cons: Rooms wherent not that clean out dated ac also the few from are room was the woods and way to much animals there all you smell was animals and also people smoking pot def won’t stay here again
Pros: Only the distance from attractions
Cons: Room was small bathroom was so small no coffee machine no iron room was so old
Pros: The facility was easy to get to and the room was spacious. I also found the facility to be clean.
Cons: The two times I stood at the front desk, all the employees at the desk were complaining. Either about other staff members, how rooms were left or other customers. The water in the room, both at the sink and shower didn't have much pressure and the actually room which held the toilet and shower had just enough space for the fixtures. Lastly, though there was an outside door, to each room, one can only enter the room by going through the lobby, which is an inconvenience.
Pros: Staff was helpful directing me around the area.
Cons: Found a couple of big ants. Outside door for main hallway left open so moths in hallway.
Pros: The location and price, we were looking for an affordable room in the bar harbor area and this was perfect for what we wanted.
Cons: It was on a one way street and a little hard to get around but the staff was great, the pool was great and room was good enough for a one night stay. I would stay here again.
Pros: The staff is extremely polite.
Pros: Location was good.
Cons: No place to set luggage. Vanity too small for toiletries. Floor needed swept. No plugs or lights near table. Did not know about continental breakfast until I checked out.
Pros: Location, staff: Sky (front desk staff person) did great. Very helpful and kind.
Cons: The property has aged a bunch, but the staff did a great job, loved the pool and the small touches. Great location. A bit pricey for what one gets. But it was quiet, clean and close to places we walked to.
Pros: The staff was very friendly and thoughtful. The pool had a new liner and was not cold. Room was clean and had a microwave and small refrigerator.
Cons: The bureau was worn.
With a stay at The Homestead Motel in Ellsworth, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Woodlawn Museum and Ellsworth Public Library. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Doug the owner was very helpful about restaurants and local places to go he was a very welcoming host. A pleasure to talk to. The Homemade Blueberry muffins in the morning were delicious
Cons: The room was very fifties style. Small TV very dated furnishings Small bathroom with a tub in need of repair bed ok but pillows very hard
Pros: Absoluty nothing.
Cons: We spent the night in a unheated dump, unworthy to offer lodgings to people. The office looks like a flea market. They offer breakfast, but you cannot sit down anywhere. Unfortunenately I did not make pictures. It definately needs further investigation. It needs to beremoved from the booking.com list.
Pros: Got what we expected- location was fine, centrally located and easy to drive into Ellsworth and Acadia. Price (especially compared to other options!) made it especially worth it. Room was pretty clean (and we turned down housekeeping one day)
Cons: Room was generally run-down/ shabby, and it's definitely no frills. Checkout process was not clear since the office was locked when we left. Breakfast was provided but we never had it.
Pros: Bed was comfortable and the owner was super nice!
Cons: Could have been a bit cleaner
Pros: The owner is a pleasant man
Cons: The toilet wasn’t clean. Something was loose under the sink and water went all over the floor. Unable to use the tv because unaware that a light switch had to be turned on first. No sign in room indicating this had to be done Whole property has a feeling of going down and owners just hanging on
Pros: Lowest price in the area. Motel has sort of a retro feel that my wife liked. Office is charming, host is friendly and knowledgeable.
Cons: This motel is long past its glory days. Everything is old. No thermostat in the room; you have to keep getting up and turning the heater switch on and off. Wifi only works in the office.
Pros: Bed was fine
Cons: Security issue- keys open other rooms did not feel safe
Pros: Clean with friendly owners and staff
Cons: WiFi only near office
Pros: Bed comfy staff nice close to bar harbor allows dogs
Cons: In desperate need of repairs!! Paint falls from doors. No stove but fridge. Rusted medicine cabinet. No bureau carpet unraveling. Old TV on rolling stand. Shower barely works. And drips. Needs a lot of repairs
Cons: Run down
Pros: The location was good for our plans. The bed was comfortable.
Cons: The bathroom was old with water stains on the ceiling. Floor under sink was water stained. I did not use the shower it looked possibly mildewed and stained. The entire room smelled musty.
Pros: Although affordable, didn’t meet expectations.
Cons: The room smelt extremely musty and the decor was old. The blankets looked like they were original to the historic Inn property. Slept on top of the quilt. The floor in the bathroom had a divot that looked like if you stepped on it you would fall through the floor boards. The WiFi only works if you stand outside your room. If you go in the winter I wouldn’t expect heat.
