10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sufficient parking and location near town centre was great. Our suite was excellent! It was bright and modern in decor and beautifully clean. Tony, the owner was most welcoming and cooked a mean breakfast! Couldn’t fault this at all and would recommend it to others and would stay again.
Cons: Nothing really. TV access was a challenge to us oldies but as there’s nothing worth watching we didn’t miss it. Confident that Tony would have helped immediately if he’d been aware of our shortcomings with technology!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved every moment about my stay from the time I arrived until I left. I almost felt like family and felt so homely and breakfast was the best ever to start the day.
Cons: That my stay wasn’t long enough
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Comfy room, beautiful decor, the owners personalities shone through and they were really friendly. Breakfast was in the kitchen around a communal table and it was nice to chat to everyone.
Cons: Shared bathroom. It was only next to the room but there were other couples on the same floor so we had to partially dress to use the toilet in the night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house and room they had really gone the extra mile. Even provided gluten free bread at breakfast.
Cons: I cant think of anything
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely old house, delightful host, very generous in giving open access to his large living room, and he provided a beautifully cooked breakfast. The bedroom and bed were a generous size, the room offered good storage space. The bathroom was basic, but very clean, and the owners had provided expensive toiletries for our use.
Cons: Current owners for only a year, so they had had little time to update the rather tired bedding, which we did not find comfortable, nor the curtains and blinds, and bathroom fittings. There was a lot of decorative object d'art on the floor, walls and surfaces, and 8 cushions on the bed, so little room to place any personal effects we might need to hand. More concerning was the presence of a large number of lit candles in the hall way outside our room, and the absence of information in our room about fire safety equipment and fire safety.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A truly beautiful, immaculate and tastefully furnished B&B in the heart of Tavistock. The hosts were welcoming and very helpful, the breakfast was generous and tasty and we were provided with allocated parking space near the property. It is a definite 10 out of 10 from us! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room. Very comfy bed. Luxurious decor and the bath was amazing. Evening meal was delicious and so was the breakfast.
Cons: The weather..... but it is October. Can’t fault the stay in anyway.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Room great. Breakfast fabulous. Have stayed here before so as we had enjoyed our previous stay enormously it was a natural choice to return.
Cons: We ate in the restaurant as we had done before and the food was fabulous however a particular upset occurred with the manager Steve when we dared to suggest one of the starter dishes could have done with a bread accompaniment such as an oval of pitta bread or maybe a couple of small slices of sourdough or even a bread roll. The dish was a hummus with finely sliced chorizo (all of which was superb) but it was virtually impossible to pick up any warmed hummus with the cocktail stick spearing chorizo. Steve said that there would be no difficulty scooping hummus onto the chorizo using the cocktail stick but the chorizo was very flexible and almost impossible to load with hummus. We had asked for some bread from another waiter to assist in our partaking of this dish and were served with some bread rolls which helped enormously. The fact that we were spoken to quite rudely by Steve when we said it would be an idea that the dish had a small bread accompaniment was quite upsetting for he spoke to us as though we had never had hummus before and intimated that we were obviously not used to eating same (which was almost insulting as my wife and I are widely travelled and have even lived, worked in and travelled in the middle east and Asia where hummus and chickpeas are an almost everyday dish in various forms as well as in many other countries where we have had different hummus dishes). Steve's rudeness was even remarked on by some diners on adjacent tables (we can't all be wrong) and we felt he had effectively talked down to us. We jokingly mentioned this upset to other members of staff who remarked that this particular dish often had diners asking for a bread accompaniment. All of the food in this venue is superb however if you try this dish ask for some bread to accompany it or a spoon to eat it and don't dare to question Steve as he obviously was also upset when reproached about talking down to me.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was excellent the breakfast was great could not fault it. Brilliant
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable room, with very good bathroom facilities.Within easy walking distance of town centre.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: There was one exceptionally rude visitor at breakfast today, 10th Oct, who the waitress dealt with exceptionally well. She deserves to be commended and praised for her tolerance, patience and politeness. Please pass it on to the management.
Cons: Nothing!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room was located above a gastro-pub in the city centre. Room was tidy and well presented with a lovely bathroom. Nice touches throughout. Parking is behind the pub across from a public car park. Staff were friendly and appeared predominantly bar staff.
Cons: I had a late check in and was asked if I was going to have dinner in the pub. Did not think to take it up as had a long day and hadn’t thought beyond getting to my room. When we came down later to try get a table it was packed and was a first come first served basis to get a table. Not a problem as they did ask me but if you do want to eat there, book ahead.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room with everything you might need. The quality of food in the restaurant and at breakfast is amazing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The food was excellent. Location perfect for Tavistock and Dartmoor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very friendly and helpful. Comfortable bed, good size room and bathroom. The breakfast menu was extensive and I can say that it was the best hotel breakfast that I have ever had. Thank you.
Cons: People who left the pub at closing time were inconsiderate to hotel guest by being noisy. Perhaps a notice could be posted by the doors asking customers to leave more quietly.

Pros: Breakfast was yummy
Cons: An improvement on our English weather however I had a wonderful stay and took many photos to show my family
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were warmly greeted by the owner Andy who helped us in and up to our room with our two suitcases. He then offered us a tea/coffee. We were asked if we were sorted for dinner as he could recommend a few places. We had already booked into one of his recommendations. The room was spacious, clean and well designed. The bed linen and towels were of a high standard. This was a modern style bed and bathroom in a lovely old house. We were pleased that there was parking at the rear of the property off the road. Finally we had a delicious well cooked breakfast. I would come back here and would thoroughly recommend it. Great value for money.

7.5 Good
Pros: breakfast was poor, it was supposed to be served until 10.00 am, but if you got there at 9.30 am much of the buffet, pastries and fruit needed refilling. also the evening meal priced at £52.50 with no choice was no good. We were allocated room 4 initially, but it was split level and had to go down 3 or 4 steps to access the bathroom, the hand rails were attached to unsecured doors and therefor unsafe. also the steps down to the balcony had no hand rail and the wardrobe internals were not clean

Pros: The accommodation was very good and bed comfortable. Keith, the owner was very welcoming and was there to greet us when we returned from a jaunt. He not only joined us at breakfast but also cooked the food which was excellent and he was a mine of interesting information. All in all he was a perfect host aided by his gorgeous black pointer, Betsy. We would certainly recommend this accommodation set in a beautiful quiet location.
Cons: Slightly better lighting as unless actually lying on the bed with bedside lamps on it was not easy to read as it is an old building with not a great deal of natural light. Maybe wall lights over the bed instead of beside lamps would make things perfect.

Room was very clean and comfortable and restocked daily with refreshments. Breakfast was delicious with many options to choose from. 9.6 Excellent
Pros: Exclusive country retreat near Dartmoor. Beautiful gardens and grounds. Lovely to have large private cottage.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is really beautiful and the location is completely stunning! The grounds are gorgeous, private and extensive. We walked to a lovely local pub that had absolutely delicious food. The hotel were flexible about our dog and the whole place was extremely quiet and peaceful.
Cons: One lady on reception was friendly, and bent over backwards to help and make us feel at home, the other was sarcastic and offhand. There were no prices on any menus or even an actual bar menu so we had little idea of what things were costing us. When we got the bill, a very average tasting pea risotto had cost us £27.50 per person.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Delightful staff, wonderful caring attention, comfort, log fires, food... nothing to fault

Pros: A luxury treat to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Beautiful property in a fantastic location. Friendly, welcoming staff who did everything to make our stay special. The food was wonderful. Our room was lovely with thick towels and the softest bathmat! Loved the wallpaper. We had heard that this hotel was special and we were not disappointed. I loved the lit fires and candles in the evenings. Endsleigh is a wonderful place to stay. The grounds were full of lovely trees, flowers and wildlife. The tranquil river added to the magical feeling of the hotel.
Cons: All fine-no complaints. Staff could not do enough for us.

Pros: Excellent restaurant with top class food. Friendly atmosphere. Staff were friendly, attentive and efficient. The rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean. Great location in an interesting town and building.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Traditional, but well kept up. You can't build the lovely atmosphere it had in just a couple of years.
6.0 Good
Pros: The staff are unfailingly friendly and responsive. And the ambience - redolent of Georgian and then Victorian England - is very pleasant. Good parking available.
Cons: My room - which consisted of a small bedroom, a bathroom and a short hallway with a closet at the end - was very poorly lit. No light at all in the hallway or the closet, no light in toilet/bath area, the bedside and desk lights both had 25w light bulbs - wholly inadequate for reading purposes. The bedroom's twin windows were wedged open for air by two crude, removable wooden blocks. Both in the bedroom and the bathroom there were cracked windowpanes. The bathroom tiles were grimy in places and showed evidence of mould. Finally, there was no hot water - the shower never reaching a temperature higher than tepid.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was fantastic staff very helpful and courteous location perfect, in the centre of Tavistock close to all amenities
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent room with 4 poster bed, lovely quaint hotel a must stay, will recommend to stay at this hotel
Cons: Room was so hot no air con
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff very helpful and friendly.
Cons: No brown bread at breakfast and random new potatoes on the breakfast plate. Not sliced, hardly sauteed, they just looked and tasted like the day before's leftovers.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely building and great location
Cons: Have stayed here before and loved it - but this time I had a room in the front and it was noisy - not the hotel’s fault but maybe secondary glazing out front would help. It’s dead quiet at the back and very peaceful
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The serene ambience of all of the hotel. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: Nothing apart from the possibility of not being able to park. More space would be a very good idea
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good friendly service. Good quality food.
Cons: Room was a bit too hot - although it was a particularly warm day

Cons: nothing.

He kindly upgraded our room and the facilities were excellent. Lovely walk in closet, spacious bedroom and luxury bathroom. It was super easy to find and right in the town so a 2 minute walk from the shops, market and everything! It was a 20 minute drive to Two Bridges, a tor walk in Dartmoor national park which was ideal! The b&b was fab and far exceeded our expectations, we will definitely be visiting again! Thank you Tony, wonderful host!

7.5 Good
Pros: breakfast was poor, it was supposed to be served until 10.00 am, but if you got there at 9.30 am much of the buffet, pastries and fruit needed refilling. also the evening meal priced at £52.50 with no choice was no good. We were allocated room 4 initially, but it was split level and had to go down 3 or 4 steps to access the bathroom, the hand rails were attached to unsecured doors and therefor unsafe. also the steps down to the balcony had no hand rail and the wardrobe internals were not clean
Cons: see above

Cons: Felt a bit old school in the restaurant
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The most attractive feature of this hotel was the peaceful location and splendid view of the valley, with all rooms having a balcony. The best experience was the service and staff who were outstandingly friendly and considerate.
Cons: The menu selection which had a poor choice for vegetarians and pescetarians. The desserts were also disappointing, all much of a muchness and too slushy. There were no tarts etc. or fresh fruit on offer.

Pros: Very nice food. Friendly staff. Spacious, comfortable room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful views
Cons: The fire alarm and noisy people upstairs
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent accommodation and customer service. Great rural location and good stop off if your breaking the journey to or from the Plymouth ferry. Food dinner and Breakfast just the best. Should have stayed two nights.
Cons: Our room in the renovated outbuildings was lovley although it was a very hot day and really needs airconditioning for those occassions. Didnt spoil our stay though.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The views were wonderful and we were delighted to receive an upgraded room with large balcony.
Cons: Bubble bath or bath oil
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The dinner in the evening was exceptional. The views were beautiful, and the staff were all very welcoming and efficient.
Cons: The loo was a bit cosy, but they were aware of that.
