Nice staff. Good central area. Too expensive. Not a great location. Just ok hotel.
Excellent location and decor. High ceilings, polite staff, well maintained grounds, Cello Restaurant - great food! Room was noisy next to pool, unable to reach Spa on multiple attempts
The room was very nice. Clean and roomy. Nice view of the courtyard. The food was good and the service was excellent. I read reviews that the food prices were high. We didn't feel this way and we ordered room service, which always has tack on fees. Although we enjoyed our stay, I'm not sure I would rate this beyond 4 stars. In my mind it takes a lot to step beyond 4 stars as they claim to be 4.5 stars. The amenities weren't above a 4 star ranking. Nothing I couldn't find at a Hilton or Hyatt.
This hotel is beautiful. The beds are very comfortable & the rooms are huge. The hotel grounds are perfectly manicured. This place Exudes an upscale vibe. It has a good wine list, and some very nice local beers on tap at their restaurant. would stay again

Excellent hotel/resort. Best u have ever been to. Especially liked the decor and statues from all different parts of the world. Courtyard and balcony were wonderful!! I would drive 5 hours back just to stay there again! Dog friendly, huge plus! The fire alarm went off and was on about ten minutes and the front desk wasn't answering the phone.
The cable TV was not working and was never fixed while I stayed there.
Beautiful grounds and decor overall. Pool was smaller in size compared to size of hotel. No pool chairs were available
Everything is fantastic
Location It was dirty and we complained to the management the first 5 minutes on arrival. The apologized but only cleaned the dirty remote control. The room was definitely not a 4 star hotel.
The service and friendliness of the staff was as great as we have ever experience. The hotel and grounds are magnificent. No. This would be our first choice when visiting the area again.
Beautiful hotel and grounds, it was a surprise. No
We've stayed 3 times and keep coming back. Staff is excellent. Spa rooms are so much fun... unless you hate sulphur dioxide smell from the natural hot springs. Very nice staff! Amanda at the front desk was super helpful and nice!
Great location, charming hotel, nice grounds, good value
The spa The bed mattress, not as comfortable as one in ballroom room.
We arrived around 10:30 pm. The next morning we made coffee in the room (room included a small kitchen area (small frig, microwave and sink) and walked the grounds. Large grassy areas with walking paths and a couple swinging lounge chairs. If had arrived earlier in the day or stayed another day we could have enjoyed hanging out in the grassy grounds and drank wine purchased from one of the local wineries. Very relaxing and the staff was very helpful and friendly.
Location to restaurants that were walking distance. Didn't have to drink and drive. The bed seemed older. Even though there were 5 pillows, they were lumpy and hard to find a good fit due to the lumps in the pillows. Newer pillows are needed.
The Paso Robles Inn provided us a comfortable and convenient base for exploring the area vineyards. Being located just off the park in the downtown area allowed us easy access to numerous tasting rooms and restaurants. The on-site restaurant is also a plus for breakfast.
The grounds are beautiful. Centrally located to downtown. If I were to rate the staff on only the woman at the front desk the morning we checked out I would have to say poor. She was extremely rude when we called from our room and then she called back 15 minutes later, with even more of an attitude. Luckily, when we were checking out she was busy being rude to what looked like a very nice older couple, so we got to check out with the nice one. I would say that we would be back because everything else was wonderful, but that woman's attitude would make me think twice.
This hotel is stunning. Rooms are spacious and the hotel restaurant and bar are great. They have patio dining and a pool with a beautiful view. We stay here quite frequently and always enjoy our time We had an incident this last stay here. We couldn't check in early so they held our luggage until we came back from wine tasting. We checked out the next day only to find that an item was missing. Although this was concerning, the staff handled this with class and replaced the item immediately, which was an 80 dollar expense. Although it was disappointing to have this happen, they handled it with professionalism and speed.
The Staff was super nice and friendly. THe room was great with a fireplace and renovated bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, and there was a private deck/balcony!
The suites were huge and very well appointed.
Staff was excellent. After receiving a room which was already occupied the staff assigned us a suite for our stay. The suites were very well appointed and comfortable.
affordable, clean, comfortable bed and renovated rooms. free breakfast and easy to book last minute. our go to spot when we visit paso for wine tasting
Would have been nice if there was a bar.
very nice place, nice room, spa tub in room was sweet, nice patio to relax in during the evening with nice smells (flowers) a nice bottle of wine from one of the vineyard's wine makers would've been a nice touch. The owner was out so didn't have much personal contact with anyone. The owner did call and tell us he would not be there so it wasn't a surprise, very appreciated.
This is an adorable B&B in a cute vineyard location, close to Paso Robles. We got the king room and it was beautiful, quiet and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. Very romantic. Only wish we had booked at least one extra night. Everything was great, but driving at night can be a bit tricky, since it's very rustic. Probably better when there's more daylight.
comfortable bed, felt more like home than a hotel its a little far from Paso Robles, about 10 miles, but not a big deal
Everything went wrong with the bathroom. A clogged toilet, clogged bath drain, luke warm shower water and noisey fan when light was turned on.
Hotel was quiet, hotel served a continental breakfast with many options. Air conditioning units in the room were excessively loud. Could not sleep with it on. Some nights were over 80 degrees even at 10pm.
breakfast bed, small TV
Room cleanliness, faculty friendliness, and all amenities functioning properly made this a great stay. Price was a little high (possibly due to Third Party booking) but attend a nearby annual event so hopefully booking earlier next year will help financially.
Convenient to freeway..all staff seemed genuinely pleasant, breakfast was relatively substantial..
Large rooms, beautiful grounds, convenient shops and restaurants , great proximity to all wineries, friendly staff! Noisy guests on Saturday night
Staff was very knowable and professional rooms were a good size location was great Called for a taxi hours before a show they confirmed when taxi didn't show I called cab company they simply said they had no cabs available The front desk arranged for us to be picked up and taken to our show great job Black Oak staff :)
This hotel is a great price, centrally located to wine country, the fair grounds and downtown Paso. We enjoyed eating breakfast at Margies Diner on the grounds. Our hotel cost included $5 off our breakfast and free coffee. This is the third stay for us and I would definitely stay again.
The Black Oak Best Western is an older motel, but has been remodeled and is quite comfortable. The pool looked newish and there is now an exercise room. Breakfast, $5 coupon p/p, next door is so big that we ended up splitting one breakfast and that was plenty to eat.
Location and price to value Not within walking distance to downtown but easy access to freeway and good central location for visiting local wineries.
Rooms are clean Bed is very hard and uncomfortable. Shower is very small. Don't expect concierge service from the guy at the front desk.
Unique classic cottage-style establishment, with rustic (yet fully functional) amenities. it's located in a fairly centralized location, close to downtown as well as the freeway. Clean, friendly staff, and a great value.
The staff was very upbeat and helpful. The hotel was clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast was very good. I will definitely stay there again.
Breakfast was free and excellent
We were able to walk to the fair from hotel. It was a very nice, clean hotel. Staff was nice. The full bar was great! Breakfast was also great! Bed was not comfortable, at all. I lost sleep because of it.
The free breakfast in the morning is incredible. They have an omelet station, waffles, eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, bagels, cereal, fruit and pastries. The staff is phenomenal. We wanted to check in early, at around 11 am, and even though the hotel was busy and packed they moved things around to accommodate us. They have a full bar and a great pool. We have now stayed here 3 times and have been impressed every time.
friendly staff at front desk. It was our 28th wedding anniversary so they gave us a free bottle of wine! that was very nice! The breakfast in the am was very nice. The walls were a bit thin. We were on the first floor and i could hear people walking above our room at 1 am. It woke me up.
Free breakfast Nothing to do in Atascadero, have to go to Paso Robles or SLO
Room was ready on time and clean. Breakfast is good if you need to grab a bite and go. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Location isn't great, plan to drive to grab dinner unless you are okay with the Jack-in-the-box next door. Request a room that does not face the freeway.
Good location. Clean large room.
Nice, clean and spacious room
Just remodeled and everything is clean and fresh. It isn't a fancy hotel but overall the place is nice. Could use some new towels.
Extremely good value for the money, cost was comparable to most very low budget hotels and room was very large and clean. Location wasn’t the best but certainly tolerable considering the price, size and quality of the room.
It was clean. The staff was friendly. Located near all the action during the fair. Would stay again. The parking was a little tight at night when it got full so if someone couldn't park correctly you were S O L
Location Bathroom was dirty. Soap provided was so cheap it didn't lather! Pillows on the bed were so hard it was sleeping on stones!
Bathroom could be cleaner
There is a certain sense of pride you see from the people who run this place, which appears to be a family owned business. Well maintained, seems like new. Nothing fancy, price is good and close to the Paso Robles wine country. Free WiFi, that some even higher end places try to charge you for. We would stay here again. The King rooms could use a couch and there could be larger flat screen TV's.
