10.0 Excellent
Pros: Joe and his staff have really created something special! This was our 2nd stay. The room was beautiful and well designed. So much craftsmanship and comfort rolled into one. The hospitality was top-notch. Their aim is to make you feel special and like you're at home. We were on a honeymoon. Our first weekend in forrevvveerrrrr without kids and we enjoyed our stay so much. From the amazing breakfast, the porch swing on our balcony, the river view, and the added bonus of a complimentary bottle of wine, plus so much more, we really loved our stay. Thank you Joe and staff, we will be back!
Cons: One thing I might suggest - clean up higher in the shower stall/ceiling. There was some dust/hair on the ceiling. Also looked to be a smear of dirt/dust at the top on the tiles in the shower. The ceilng is TALL so I'm guessing it's hard for the room service ladies to reach all the way up while cleaning. That's just being picky though and I'm sure not many would notice.. I do not fault you guys at all!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet and relaxing. A lot of thought has obviously been put into making the guests comfortable. Tori and Keith we’re both a dream. And joe of course.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Homemade breakfast, friendly staff
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It's nicely located by the Twisp River and we enjoyed a tranquil evening on a sofa, watching the wild deer passing by. Next morning, we met Joe the owner at the breakfast room. He was super friendly and funny. Breakfast was awesome with a lot of hand-made foods. All the employees were very nice and helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was great with lots of variety. The porch swing on the screened deck overlooking the river was a great bonus.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Loved the screened porch in our room with the oversized swing. Thoughtful personal touches throughout.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was amazing!!! And lots of options for us with food allergies.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Joe and Staff are fantastic Great room great location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! When you are in the Twisp area, go to this accomodation, you won't be dissapointed! Great bed, very good breakfast and you can lounge at the riverside.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location on the river.
Cons: The owner tries to be funny and comes across as being obnoxious.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff here was SO hospitable!! I have never felt so welcome and so much kindness when staying at a hotel ever before! The staff here truly care about the customers and want to make them feel like this is their home!! They have a lot of scratch made food items for breakfast which is amazing! They welcome you with a smile each and every morning! We want to come back to Twisp just to stay in this hotel again!! Truly has been the best experience my husband and I have ever had staying at a hotel!
Cons: There was not one thing that we didn’t like about this property and our stay! Everything was absolutely perfect!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is great, especially being at river's edge and being able to hear the relaxing sound of a small river. Owner and lobby staff remember your name. The breakfast is very good. The rooms have little extras such as reading glasses & small flashlights.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfy and clean w beautiful views, we enjoyed dinner on our patio watching the sun go down.
7.0 Good
Pros: Clean room
Cons: Needs more amenities, pool, breakfast, ect.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Thin wall
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were upgraded to a very nice one bedroom unit, with all the facilities we needed. It was a very nice, if too brief, stay. We will look into returning when we can spend more time. The owner was very pleasant and helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pet friendly, close walking distance to eateries, close walking distance to rivers.
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean and convenient location. Lots of pamphlets on what to do in the area available at reception. Rooms were a decent size and although small, the shower was good - nice to have after a day hiking!
Cons: Rooms were a bit noisy. We could hear the neighbours above walking around and next door's TV. Bed could do with an upgrade, it was soft and would move a lot when either of us rolled over or shifted. Some basic crockery and cutlery supplied in the rooms would have been convenient. We ended up buying disposable bowls and spoons. Plastic cutlery and paper cups were available, but seems a bit wasteful.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable and quiet. The large fluffy bath towels and the bath accessories were appreciated.
Cons: The only thing I could find fault with its the illumination of the bedside clock is a bit bright. Have to find something to complain about right?
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Convenient to the downtown area, very clean, quiet, had everything we needed.
Cons: N/A
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very comfortable and provided everything we needed. It was surprisingly quiet considering it was fronting the main road. And we loved being able to walk through the rear field to a local pathway across a bridge into the town of Winthrop. Very convenient to the restaurants and other amenities we sought. We will return!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location - and grass courtyard area
Cons: Could have used a bit more for kitchen amenities - better outdoor chairs. Our were cracked and pinched
River's Edge Resort - Winthrop - Bedroom
3
9.2 Excellent (320 reviews)
Overview Reviews
The River's Edge Resort offers a pleasant stay in Winthrop for those traveling for business or leisure. There's plenty to do nearby, with Shafer Historical Museum, and Methow River all just a both distance away. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel. When it comes to Winthrop hotels, the River's Edge Resort is highly regarded for its excellent facilities.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very beautiful home with great amenities. Perfect location with the hot tub by the river!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We inadvertently left our laptop in the closet in a hard to find spot. The manager was adamant that her cleaning person would ever take anything :-) Bonus--what a wonderful thing for her to be able to say about a worker--and for us to hear!! After her third trip back to our room (on crutches) she found it for us! I thought that was really great service. The resort was very quiet. Our room was not directly on the river, but was fronted by small river channel which was probably more peaceful than actually being on the river, though some folks might be disappointed by that.
Cons: If you plan to make real meals the kitchen equipment was kind of marginal, but I suspect it is quite adequate for what most travelers really want or need. The location is within easy walking distance of good places to eat.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was cozy and inviting, hot tub was fabulous and the staff were lovely. Would definitely return!
8.8 Excellent
Cons: I thought it was river front but then I didn’t ask to be sure.
7.5 Good
Pros: Quiet, relaxing environment
Cons: Stove burners, pots and pans warped and uneven
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Close to town
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cute cabin on the river. Right in town within walking distance of town!! Loved our stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice and close to Winthrop's many shops and eateries everyone must see the Shaffer museum
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The cabin was great. The couch was not at all comfortable to watch tv, but we weren't there to watch tv much anyway. Bed was very comfy.
Cons: We were under the assumption that our cabin would be on the river. How disappointed we were when we discovered we were on the street. So much for relaxing by the river. That was a huge let down after looking forward to evenings by the river.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is my favorite place to stay in Winthrop because of the private deck and hot tub overlooking the river. Perfect for morning coffee watching the deer and even saw a bald eagle overhead. Stayed here solo once and now with two kids who love it too. Clean space, kitchen is equipped for light cooking needs, and location is central yet quiet.
Cons: I’ve stayed here twice and both times were lovely. But toilet runs regularly throughout day and night in cabin 16. Bathroom and shower sink drainage is also very slow so just needs a plumbing refresh I think. Otherwise dreamy place and we will return as soon as we can!
Methow River Lodge & Cabins - Winthrop - Building

Overview Reviews

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the location of being next to a slow river. We sat on the deck and enjoyed the day. The Cabin itself was absolutely wonderful and would recommend to anyone and we booked it 4hrs before we arrived :)
Cons: Truly do not have anything to say bad about the place. The staff was nice, the cabin was ready when we arrived (early).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very cute, comfortable cabin along the river. Very clean. Full kitchen and a comfortable living room. Lovely back porch with comfortable chairs to sit at and watch the river. Short walk to restaurants and shops.
Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Right on the river, relaxing view, easy walk to downtown
Cons: Little close to the bridge, but traffic calmed way down in the evening
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy access to town and amenities...easy to locate...beautiful location by river.
Cons: Pillows could be replaced.
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice by the river, within distance walking to town.
Cons: The beds are AWFUL!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean, perfect temperature with the air conditioning already running prior to our check in. I absolutely loved the location, easy to get to any activity in a Winthrop. Nice to see the river from our room and watch people on their float tubes having so much fun. We really enjoyed seeing a show at the old fashioned movie theater just minutes away, great food from the best pizza , great burgers and much more. We shopped many of the stores in downtown Winthrop and took advantage of being there. The fish hatchery is just a few minutes away and we had a volunteer give us a private tour.
Cons: No down side. Really loved the location.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A very nice hotel that is super clean and comfortable. Next to the river and short walk to Winthrop restaurants on a nice trail.
Cons: The hotel is close to Highway 20 so it's noisy during the day with all of the cars and trucks going by. Night time is quiet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Well maintained property. We truly enjoyed our stay and hopefully will be back when we can stay longer and take in more of the local area. Gorgeous location.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: So: the only things missing here were a freezer for the mini-fridge; a pool to swim in (the river was cool but low water level and rocky, great for floating on but not swimming in!); and perhaps a continental breakfast of some kind would be nice. For the last item, I would be willing to add an additional $5 - $7/day to the rate I pay. Overall, the rooms were clean, comfortable accomodations; great location (my patio was right on the river, the Inn itself was less than a 10 minute walk from the village/town); the staff were INCREDIBLY helpful and friendly. Good internet service and Dish Satellite TV.
Cons: A freezer for the mini fridge, a pool, maybe a continental breakfast....my 3rd day housekeeping did not do a complete turn of the room which was odd, compared to the other days, where the room, towels, bed etc. were spotless and completely turned.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great air conditioning, awesome view, excellent balcony seating

10.0 Excellent
Pros: pricing outstanding-quality outstanding-staff friendliness outstanding-view spectactular
Cons: nothing that I can think of
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Restaurant, we ate lunch. How quiet everything was. The deer 10 feet from our balcony, the grouse noises outside our balcony one evening. I enjoyed the guided walk and wish I had had time to walk more of the trails and use the lake facilities.
Cons: The coffee maker and coffee in the room was terrible. A little 4 cup pot would be nice so we didn’t have to do the process 4 times. Seattle’s Best Coffee is not the best, perhaps because of the way it’s brewed in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the surroundings
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff was friendly and helpful. Lots of activities. Very peaceful and quiet setting. Easy to sleep. It was nice to not have to deal with parking issues like fees or valets. Just hop in the car and go!
Cons: The restaurant was very good, but it would have been nice to have a few menu items to compliment the location. Maybe venison or trout?
6.3 Good
Pros: Paid for king. Got 2 queens Made reservations 3 months in advance
Cons: See above
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice pool. Views are spectacular. We love the sense of peace and serenity. It was quiet.
Cons: Please provide napkins/paper towels with coffee. We had to go to the bathroom for the kleenex box (only one provided!) to substitute if we spilled a little. For the price we paid, the provisions were pretty slim!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent room. The “lodge” feel is excellent. Will definitely be coming back.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice, quiet location. Easy walk to town. Room was clean and well maintained. Staff was very helpful and courteous.
Cons: N/A
6.8 Good
Pros: Very beautiful area, although remote due to road closure. Had considered adding extra night to stay. Stayed at "end" of motel, and am typically not bothered by road noise. To me, there was a fair amount of privacy, which is important to me. Motel was busy, probably due to date. I will probably stay here again, but in cabin, and will bring fan to drown out noise... also will try and come much later in season, but we'll see!
Cons: Room had a bit of a chemical smell, left door open most of night, and found it comfortable. Like previous two nights, was annoyed by noisy and rude guests. They were construction workers I guess, and were quiet by about 11:00pm. Had decided to relocate to Wenatchee (or farther) for next night, though.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The River Run Inn is located right on the Methow River. It's a beautiful setting. We saw deer every day. The weather was ove 100 F while we were there. the A/C was excellent and the pool was a great place to cool down more. The river is cool but my husband did dunk himself in it once very briefly! The lakes nearby are a good place to swim and beat the heat too. All the staff at the Inn were friendly and helpful. We'll be back!
Cons: We came away with bug bites but that wasn't the Inn's fault! For me the bed was a bit hard.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: I rooms were spacious and welcoming.
Cons: The water pressure in the shower was a little on the westside, and it took for ever to heat up.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hot and cold breakfast items available. Very nice!
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice to have bikes to ride into town. Friendly staff.
Cons: The breakfast options were quite poor. There was no fruit at all so a very unhealthy breakfast really. We stay at many hotels with comp breakfasts and many offer fruit. This is a big deal for us and so would keep us from staying here in the future.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great pool and courtyard area! Love the rocking chairs. Pool was a great temp.
Cons: They ran out of eggs in the morning and someone had stolen all their hot chocolate mix
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I like that it was very clean and everyone very friendly.
Cons: The complimentary breakfast should be offered earlier. I would say 6 am instead of 7. There were at least 10 people, us included, looking to eat at 6:30am. We like to get on the road early and 7 puts everyone on the road late.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Nice accommodations. Property also included easy access to the river, bikes, miniature golf, picnic area near river access.
Cons: Would like to see more outside trash receptacles.
9.5 Excellent

Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The cabin is private and very quiet. It comes equipped with everything you need, and things you didn't know you might need!
Cons: Nothing was bad about this place.
5.0 Okay
Pros: It was quiet
Cons: The place was not at all like it was portrayed through the company that booked us. No fireplace, bees nest on back door so we couldn't even sit on back deck, no picnic tables in front or chairs etc..., Bathroom fan sounded like chickens were being murdered...it was just awful. Extremely unhappy with the romantic experience we were hoping for. Lesson learned

9.3 Excellent
Pros: I liked the quaintness and location, but the place needs to be painted but that is also part of being so rustic.
Cons: I needed a fridge to keep my food cold so I would have ordered a meal but since no fridge, I didnt order a dinner. I would have liked to had ordered a meal but no place to keep it cold for my drive! There was no ice machine. And I would have liked coffee or continental breakfast included. Most hotels do that and provide free coffee as well.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Unique hotel. Nice sized room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. Right in downtown so easy walk to restaurants.
Cons: Lots of stairs to room and parking. No breakfast.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great atmosphere with a lot of character in the spirit of the old west.
Cons: Bed was a little uncomfortable.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: the look of the building
Cons: bath tub faucet handle came off
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Nice view from the corner room. Rustic but nice, like a simple lodge. Smack in the middle of town (walk everywhere).
4.3 Okay
Pros: Not much... it is VERY old shows it not even coffee in the room .. : - (((
Cons: I’m handicapped & there isn’t even a phone in the room to call & ask for any help with bags etc. or anything, if you needed help. There are STEEP steps to get to any room & when I realized this I asked to cancel due to the difficulty someone with disabilities had with this. They would not even consider it. I have a handicap placard, but there is no handicapped parking or way to get to any of the rooms.... I had to ask a waitress & a kitchen person to help me with my bags. Now I’m stuck trying to get my things out. I have a fused back, 4 knee surgeries, & on & on & it made the stay horrible.
6.8 Good
Pros: Inside town center.
Cons: Too noisy till midnight.
7.5 Good
Pros: Comfotable bed with Temperpedic mattress. Interesting and quirky place above a restaurant in a central location on the main road. Wa quiet.

Cons: Lots of stairs (24) to either get down from parking lot or up (21) from street. Older folks would appreciate having porter service available.
Winthrop Inn - Winthrop - Building
12
7.6 Good (424 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Winthrop Inn in Winthrop, you'll be on a river, just a 1-minute walk from Cascade Range and 14 minutes by foot from Winthrop Rink. Featured amenities include a computer station and coffee/tea in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked how close it was to all the things we needed to get to. The staff was very friendly.
Cons: We were there for a hockey tournament and the way the stairs are it was very difficult almost impossible to get things through the doors and up the stairs. The mini fridge and tv didn't work in our room, some of our food spoiled and we never watched tv.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Pet friendly!
Cons: Cleanliness was an issue. Several spiders were in the room including on the bed and in an established web in the shower. Tortilla chips from the previous guests were on the floor and on chairs.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice people, reasonably priced, clean and good wifi.
Cons: A bit far from town, but we enjoyed the walk.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It was a cute place.
Cons: Nothing to dislike!! The sliding screen needs to be fixed or replaced
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice, clean little spot. We booked for the yearly Blues event in town. Pool was super clean, as was the hot tub. All the people there were very friendly and accommodating.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Layout of the room was good, very spacious! Bed was comfortable, and there were 4 fluffy pillows on each queen bed! There was enough counter space by the sink and the flat screen TV was mounted above it so space was really maximized well. Spacious bathroom with just a shower stall but I think it's a bonus that there's a window to let air circulate so the bathroom does not become steamy. Balcony was a great feature, with 2 chairs for relaxing and enjoying a cool breeze. Property grounds looked well maintained with neat lawns and clean driveway and parking lot. There was a picnic area with 3 picnic tables available for the guests along with a bbq area with 3 grills for use. More plastic chairs can be used for parties or small gatherings. There's a pool on the property but I did not have time to check it out. I did see some kids enjoying their time jumping in and climbing out of the pool. There were bicycles and helmets available to use for the guests, and freshly baked cookies (in a jar!) available every morning. Coffee and tea were also available.
Cons: There wasn't a hair dryer in the room. The air conditioning unit was LOUD!!! It gets loud for about a minute then quiets down and then gets loud again like it's restarting - so annoying! Good thing about it though is that it was loud enough to drown out the next room's chatter and noise although I could hear them between quiet moments of the air conditioning unit. There should be signs in each room reminding guests to please NOT SLAM DOORS. Every door slammed, even from the 1st floor, just vibrates every door throughout the building. And also a quiet time should be enforced so that no running around, no slamming doors and no heavy feet shuffling will happen between 10PM to 8AM. There were nail heads protruding on the rear staircase which can pose a hazard for younger kids. A little maintenance can go a long way and some paint touch ups can brighten up the place. It also won't hurt to clean out cobwebs and wasp hives from the ceiling. The blinds for the bathroom window was falling apart when we got there but maintenance was quick to "repair" it the next day.
7.5 Good
Pros: The pool was cool and relaxing.
Cons: Their was no breakfast at all which was disappointing but with the construction going on in the office area will accommodate what is needed for a desent breakfast for all who travel through Winthrop.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It’s right next to the grocery store and a short walk to the heart of town. The young girl who was working when we checked in was very helpful and patient, I asked a lot of questions :)
Cons: The layout of the room was awkward. We had to unplug the tv to plug in the coffee maker because there was only one outlet. The bathroom had a toilet and shower and the sink was in the main room with the TV above it. In the information booklet, it says coffee and scones served each morning. We were disappointed to see that by 9:15 am, the coffee and scones were long gone. If you are an early riser you may have gotten a cup of coffee and a scone. We ended up making coffee in our room.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location to beautiful hikes was great!
Cons: There wasn’t a hairdryer. The decor was a bit tired.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The pool, the walk to the river (we cleaned up trash we found there), the picnic tables, and the morning coffee and scones.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location; attempts to keep costs down without affecting convenience
Cons: No
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location was very close to town and the pool was useful.
Cons: The overall cleanliness was poor and the sink in the room had a leak, which ended up making the floor wet. There were no water bottles in any of the service machines, which in summer I think is poor planning. The person who checked me in appeared to be a child/teenager.
