7.9 Good
Pros: Great location, helpful staff, big rooms, comfy bed
Cons: Wifi not great throughout. Bigger coffee cups please!
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: No interaction when checking in. There really is no river access or a River view. Not possible to us the back door out to the river as you cannot lock from the outside. Exp credit to clean the kitchen area but no cleaning supplies going Ben e
6.3 Good
Pros: I arrived late and they gave me the room number over the phone and left the room open with the key insid
Cons: They didn't give me the reception door access code. If someone hadn't been sitting in reception using the wifi I would have been locked out. They could have texted or emailed me as they had my details. The bed was a ed settee and i had to make tje bed up myself. Not what i would have expected or wanted.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The location in the gorge was great and the price very reasonable compared to other places in the area. The kitchen was surprisingly well equipped with everything we needed to cook a simple meal. If you're ready to rough it a little more than advertised, this is still a really good value place to stay.
Cons: The room we had been booked into did not resemble what we were confirmed through Booking.com. Fortunately, there was a room available that did. It smelled weird, but was OK after airing. There were large cobwebs in the room and one enormous spider, but we got rid of it. It also wasn't clear to us at the time of booking that we would have to clean the kitchen.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location out of the bustle of Vallon Pont D’Arc, with places to swim, a lovely big garden and the local restaurants were outstanding.
Cons: Facilities were a little tired.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location and facilities within the room.
Cons: The approach was a bit dangerous for a bike carrying luggage
5.4 Okay
Pros: The hotel thel is surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape. All this beauty is called la Gorge d'Ardeche. The famous Chauvet cave is nearby. Despite the fact that the hotel can be no more than one night, the comfort is below average, next to the hotel there is the most wonderful thing there is-a Restaurant de Chames with really High French cuisine! Every evening a new menu! The menu is very unexpected, just amazing! Cool staff! Great regional wines! It is strange that such a miracle with such a filthy hotel! Many tourists are engaged in kayaking.
Cons: The room was dirty! To walk bare feet on the floor was impossible, your feets become dirty immediately. Poor wall insulation. Despite the fact that Breakfast was declared, it really can only be ordered until 18-00 to get it the next morning, did not have time, you are left without Breakfast. It's good that there is a campsite nearby and there in the restaurant you can get a standard Breakfast for 6.50 euros. Without a car to the hotel can not be reached, the nearest city is 7 kilometers away. By car it is also difficult to find, the hotel is not quite visible from the road, on the road there is a pointer, but at the speed it can be easily overlooked.
5.3 Okay
Pros: Really close to the starting point for canoe- rentals for Gorge de l'Ardeche, beautiful position by the river
Cons: The clerk that received us was really NOT prepared: he even mistakenly denied the reservation we had with Booking.com (eventually this was corrected)
5.0 Okay
Pros: good presentation, situation of appartments, lots of room, clean and tidy.
Cons: Could not get enough ventilation, did not expect air conditioning but a simple electric fan would have been a great help at night. Maybe this is only the top floors...?
5.7 Okay
Pros: The location is beautiful and calm
7.2 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Small size - lack of onsite catering
2.8 Mediocre
Pros: The bed was uncomfortable and the room was very narrow and dingy. The staff were rude and the instructions on reaching the appartment were not clear.
Cons: The staff, the narrowness of the room and the bed was uncomfotable.
4.4 Okay
Pros: peacefulll and good location
Cons: inadequate kitchen and sleeping facilities (eg) no kettle, no toaster, no grill, no mugs, inadequate ventillation at night (eg) no fan or air con

Overview Reviews
A stay at Hotel le Manoir du Raveyron places you in the heart of Vallon-Pont-d'Arc, within a 10-minute drive of Pont d'Arc and Musée-magnanerie. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and luggage storage.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Good breakfast and pleasant terrace area. Staff were helpful.
Cons: Difficult and limited on street parking; no lift (yes, I accept it is an older property) with far too many flights of steep stairs, some without the necessary handrail; the decoration and facilities in the room, although a ‘superior’ room, seemed tired and weren’t particularly comfortable. Bathroom was basic and towels very small. Although we had booked for 3 nights, we left after one, choosing to lose money rather fhan stay any longer. Considering what they charge per night, this place falls far short of expectations.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The host was very nice and the property is well situated and the common areas are very nice (though unfortunately when we were there the weather did not allow breakfast to be taken in the garden).
Cons: We booked a standard room which was rather small. If we were to return we would opt for one of the superior doubles which look to be larger and better appointed.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Good position in town, peace and quiet.
Cons: Staff were unsmiling. Parking difficult. Too many rules.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beds extremely good. Air conditioning perfect and minutes to centre of town. Very tranquil.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Not much I'm afraid, although the location was good for the centre of town.
Cons: The whole hotel needed an renovation. It may have been good when it was opened but now it is just old. It came up as the best stay in Vallon Pont D'Arc so I would hate to see the other places.
7.1 Good
Pros: The breakfast in the garden was great with all you expect. The accommodation ist nice designed and very centrally located. The rooms are beautifully styled.
Cons: The price is not too low, so I would expect some standard equipment, maybe you can integrate a TV in the rooms, but a small fridge would be absolutely great especially in summer.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The property was close to good restaurants and parking was no problem. The staff were friendly and the manager spoke good English and gave us good advice on tourist sights.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful building, extremely comfortable.
Cons: Nothing

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Terrace was good. Large room. Good air conditioning. Most staff did not speak English very well, but they were very friendly. Restaurant trout was excellent; beef was very poor.
Cons: No scrambled eggs for breakfast. Terrace was not very private.
5.5 Okay
Cons: no extra bathroom facilities for a disabled person, room too small to navigate wheelchair. Not what we were told when we booked.
7.1 Good
Pros: This hotel is nice situated at Vallon Pont d'arc. The staff was really nice !! Pool was ok, beds steeply really good and airco worked perfectly. Breakfast was good but a bit overpriced.
Cons: I was a bit mislead by the very good reviews. There is nothing wrong with the hotel but my expectations were high. A bit too high. The room was ok but needs some work. The heater in the bathroom was very dirty (pizza and coffee stains), also outdoor was really needs a lot of work. A lot of weeds, tiles that are broken. It desperately needs some work. As the hotel is not directly at the river you can't walk to a place to swim in the Ardeche, everything part of the river is owned by campings, so it is all "plage privé". If you want to enjoy the river for a swim you need to take the car and sometimes even pay to enter... Apart from that we had a nice stay but the hotel is definitely a bit overpriced.
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff friendly Tv Airco Restaurant
Cons: No chairs in room Small room
7.9 Good
Pros: Location perfect for Kayak tours and close to city center and Ardeche, nice and clean pool area.
Cons: Bathroom/ toilet needs renovation. Pictures in booking confirmation showed renovated, very nice design of bathroom, which we were expecting.
7.5 Good
Pros: PROXIMITY TO CHAUVETTE GROTTO SWIMMING POOL FOOD COMFORTABLE BED
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Happy friendly and welcoming staff.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Nice room. Good shower. Balcony with Forrest view. All clean.
Cons: Double bed was very good quality mattress & quilt thickness just right. But there was only space for one bedside table as room not wide enough for bedside tables at both sides of bed.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: the hotel is perfectly located in the city center of Vallon Pont d'Arc. Nice Swimming pool, breakfast on terrasse with nice view, kind welcome at reception and nice host.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant on the terrace was absolutely perfect for breakfast and dinner. The amiable and gracious hosts could not have been more accommodating to a family of over hot folk seeking to escape the heat wave in France during the 2019 Women's World Cup. We only wish that we could take the hotel with us to five of the other locations we visited on the journey. We highly recommend the establishment to any traveler.
Cons: Absolutely nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A great find for us. Stayed for three nights. Very central and easy walking distance for Kayaking on the Ardeche and a few steps your in the Village with shops bars and restaurants. Hotel has a bar, restaurant and secure large private car park. Lifts to all floors. Breakfast is superb and very nice terrace. The hosts are excellent, friendly and very helpful. We needed a Vet very urgently on a Bank Holiday and the owner went out of his way phoning three vets to find one for us. The hotel appears to be receiving improvements by the family owners and these are tasteful and excellent.
Cons: There is Nothing not to like.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Large light room with large modern bathroom. Had very good dinner both nights of our stay at the hotel’s own restaurant which had just reopened after a break. Good breakfast selection which we ate on the terrace overlooking the garden and views of the countryside in a very warm September. Parked on site in the hotel car park. Friendly hotel owner and staff. Nice traditional family run hotel.
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent

Cons: There wasn’t anything not liked
9.6 Excellent
Pros: On arrival had a refreshing swim in the heated pool. Very nice room, and lovely tiled bathroom. Breakfast on the terrace in the morning sunshine - delightful!
Cons: Would have liked some Kleenex in the bedroom. Need some simple towel hooks in the bathroom.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice located. The stuff is very friendly and the hotel is clean and very cosy!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Family run with wonderful history, owner and staff being very accommodating. The location is fantastic being within the lively town centre which has many restaurants and shops. Having a pool at the end of a long hot day out is great.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location right in the centre of vallon. Free public car park behind the hotel. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and made an effort to speak with us even though we don't speak French. The property owner was super helpful and accommodating.
Cons: €15 for breakfast was a little expensive even with the lovely view
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great staff and great service. Very good location. Less than a minute walk from shops and restaurants.
Cons: The room did its time and the breakfast doesn’t offer a lot of choices.

Cons: Everything was great
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, nice dinner and wonderful breakfast
Cons: Smallish lodge..not much room for clothes and sundries...but comfortable with nice view
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staying here is worth it for the view alone. But the accommodation was splendid and the staff went out of their way to make me feel at home.
Cons: A little pricey for me but you pay for location as well as comfort.

Pros: So peaceful! Lovely room, staff great and helpful. Canoeing directly off the premises. Breakfast and Dinner superb.. would have loved to stay longer
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice stay in original accomodation, close to the Ardeche river. Large private terrace. Friendly staff. Pity I could be there not longer than 1 night....
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location, the atmosphere and peace and quiet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the whole glamping atmosphere and the excluded feeling at the beach. The rooms very cosy and luxurious in a camping kind of way. We had a wonderful SUP tour up the river which was very unique. We would absolutely recommend this place.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Good French breakfast. Safety access. Close to the Ardèche and Pont d’Arc.
Cons: Low to no English of the staff. Little bit to expensive for what it is. If you take the lodge / tent, what is pronounced as a room, be aware there is just a bath tub, no shower, no curtain. Heater to small and didn’t work at all. Description in booking.com was not correct.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great being in a tent right next to the Ardèche river! Could hear the water rushing over the little rapids all night - it was amazing. Owners were great, very friendly and even though we arrived late afternoon they arranged a kayak trip for us down the river through Pont d’Arc and kicked us up. It was brilliant. Wish we could have stayed longer
Hotel le Silex - Vallon-Pont-d'Arc - Bedroom
9
8.5 Excellent (168 reviews)
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Hotel le Silex in Vallon-Pont-d'Arc, you'll be on a river, within a 5-minute drive of Pont d'Arc and National Nature Reserve Gorges of the Ardèche. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Back in the Ardèche, so it was back to Le Silex... of course! Loved this place last year and work steered me (relatively) nearby so I seized the chance to return. Alas, didn't get the HUGE room that I had in 2017 but the alternative was still very comfortable, cool, clean and cosy. What makes this place special is the proximity to the Pont d'Arc. If you want a great swimming hole – to unwind after a hectic day of sightseeing, or for a long day with the family – you can't do any better than this!
Cons: Would be great to have some food onsite but absolutely understand why it's not. Romain, this is not a complaint... and, as you could gather from the "what did you like" comments, I'll be back. Thanks.
4.5 Okay
Pros: breakfast and host
Cons: climatisation was absolutely inefficient
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The local breakfast was amazing! This is the perfect location for our hikes.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, very good brekfast, pleasant hosts, nice jacuzzi on the terrace. The best thing is that one wall of the room is in the natural rock and all rooms are designed according to this wall - amazing!
Cons: /
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant staff. Comfy bed. Amazing bath.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional beautiful combination of nature and architecture...for people that like something different with respect for nature...so do not complain about missing airco, the rock wall needs to be respected...
Cons: All was perfect...
7.9 Good
Pros: The staff was great Very helpful
Cons: No air conditioning
7.9 Good
Pros: This is a unique property. It is in a beautiful spot 5 mins walk from the stunning Pont d'Arc where there is a sandy beach and you can swim. You need a car and it is 10 mins drive from nearest town. It is beautifully peaceful in the evening. The room we had is featured in the photograph and had the biggest bath have ever seen. Big enough for 2 adults! Its a special, romantic place. Breakfast was very good.
Cons: Floor downstairs could perhaps be sealed/have a rug. But this is not a big problem, just a suggestion. A Bose bluetooth speaker would sound great, now often standard in rooms.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Great location
Cons: Room was blisteringly suffocatingly hot and whilst I realise we are all experiencing an extraordinarily hot summer, I would have expected a little thought to have gone into providing a fan at the very least. We spent two nights here and I was glad to leave because I could not sleep. The downstairs floor is cobbled, which was fine but not sealed, so constantly dusty and you could not walk barefoot at all. All in all a shame as it is a beautiful location.

7.5 Good
Cons: Too many insects !
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic place! Nice location, very friendly staff.
Cons: The pool area is so nice, but it was not cleaned properly, neither was the pool itself. So we preferred to take a swim in the nearby river, which was a great experience.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Quiet and pretty Location near Barjac. Excellent courtyard restaurant. Helpful and friendly staff. Large and comfortable room and terrace.
Cons: The busy pool with an odd design - including built out bits within the pool which that meant swimming space was unrestricted. Lots of children dive bombing from the raised platform meant swimming wasn’t relaxing - sadly no rule against it.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful room and location very clean and staff very friendly
Cons: Breakfast was a little pricey for what it was but it was still nice, our room had quite a few things such as coffee table foot stools etc which were not really needed and it would have made it feel less cluttered
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This place was exactly as a four star hotel should be. We stayed in a hotel room (two floors), and the rooms were nice, the breakfast was very nice and not the usual simple French style, the hotel was unique and beautiful. The pool was nice and relaxing and we could have our children there with no problem.
Cons: If you have dinner at the hotel expect the waiting time to order to be looong!! But once they have your order, they are SUPER fast!
6.7 Good
Pros: Great location
Cons: - poor reception area (very cluttered) - dining area too cramped (tables very close together) - the “Standard” room were far too small and the bathrooms even smaller!! - too few staff to be able to treat clients with appropriate attention
7.1 Good
Pros: General hotel outlook
Cons: Location, far from many sights, even though the surroundings are beautiful

Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice room, good view, very clean, friendly staff. Very good breakfast. Would stay again!
Cons: The curtains were thin and did not really darken the room especially in the morning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the new building and the suites were well appointed, spacious and very comfortable beds. The breakfast was delicious, freshly baked croissant and optional cooked eggs, unusual for a continental breakfast. Staff were very helpful and made good recommendations for restaurants and things to do.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The lady whom greeted us on arrival. She was so sweet and welcoming. The Junior suite is fantastic. Very modern and very clean. No expense spared on the furnishings. The place is surrounded by beauty. The breakfast served in the room. The Pool area. The grounds and fields to walk the dogs. There's a shop around the corner and a great little restaurant (dogs welcome) close to the hotel serving wonderful food and drink.
Cons: The surcharge for 2 dogs. If I am paying nearly 200 euros for a room (my choice though and there are cheaper rooms) I don't like having to pay extra in hotels. However this is in all hotels so not just here. There was a coffee machine in the room but the 4 pods to use were 2 x Americano and 2 x Marrakech tea. Cappuccino pods or café con leche would've been better. On booking.com it stated Room service. This is for Breakfast only (which was fabulous) so please be aware if you are arriving late although there is fantastic restaurant within a 5 minute walk of the hotel. None of this will put me off staying again though as it was a fantastic and wonderful place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our time at the Bastide d'Iris. Extremely helpful owners, delicious breakfast, quiet and spacious rooms, perfect location. We will come back.
9.2 Excellent

Cons: the rooms are a bit small
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean room at a beautiful small hotel worth friendly staff. Pleasant grounds and pretty pook.
Cons: It is a short drive from Vallon Pont d'Arc, that adds a little travel time compared to properties in Vallon Pont d'Arc, but the drive is very easy
