We knew this hotel from a previous stay 10 years ago, it was nice to find out that it still matched our expectations. The restaurant as good as ever.
The staff were very attentive and polite. The layout and facilities in the hotel were lovely and there was a lot of attention to detail. Lovely scented rooms.
Very nice and quiet! Excellent Dinner. Very friendly staff. Secure place and parking ground. Close to Avignon. Will come back...
All the staff were exceptionally polite and helpful, especially the staff at reception, and the restaurant was of a good standard.
Relaxing, clean and friendly Too expensive by far and poor location
The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, but once through the doors a large, beautiful courtyard (very well maintained) appears. Nice pool area, and well appointed spa area. Fantastic meal at the restaurant. Very friendly staff. The location is a little "off the beaten path", and you need a car to get anywhere. Overall, a little pricey (both room rate and restaurant).
Spa facilities, swimming pool area and the hotel grounds and decor were very nice. Staff were also very attentive. Free wifi in the bedrooms. My room was very small although I was advised of this when booking so can't complain, there are a couple like this, and based on other reviews, most rooms are larger (although this would cost extra to the 185€ we paid per night). My main issue was the cost of any extras in the hotel. Menu prices and drinks were extortionate even if it has a michelin star. Since it's a good 10 minute drive from Avignon, if you don't have a car, you have to go by Taxi, and for some reason that costed around 25€ each one way journey too, making it an expensive couple of days. Not sure if it's normal, but the taxi drivers seemed to start their meter when they were called by the hotel, so the starting tariff would range from 6.50€ to 8.50€ which isn't great.
quiteness, close to town centre, spacious garden pool water was not heated and a bit too cold
We absolutely loved this hotel! It has lots of Provencial charm and our room was very pretty and spacious. It is the perfect place to stay in Provence if you don't want to be with all the crowds in Avignon center. It is about a 10 minute drive to Avignon and easy access to other areas of the Luberon region. There are no restaraunts nearby so you will need a car for sure. The hotel has wonderful food but is pricey. It has a great outdoor pool, indoor pool with spa, very lush landscaping and beautiful patios. Very attentive service and wonderful personel.
The friendliness of the staff and the food was fantastic Need a map to get there!!!
A charming inn rich with history. The grounds are beautiful and one of the best bathrooms we have had in France. A lovely place if money is no object, although we did get three nights for the price of two on the booking.com site. The meals were over the top expensive. We were seated in the dining room and the owner came in and told my husband he should be wearing a jacket for dinner. This embarrassing situation could have been avoided if the website had indicated their policy or strong suggestion for dress attire. Because of this, we chose not to eat subsequent meals at the hotel and dined elsewhere.
The staffs of hotel are very nice and friendly. Dinner was excellent and especially enjoyed to see wine list which had a lot of reasonable priced bordeaux grand vin of good vintage.
We liked this typical atmosphere one gets in French Hotels et Chateaux, unique in the world. We also liked the central situation in the Provence, close to Avignon, very close to the highway. no complaints
The service was excellent, the food was out of this world (congratulations to the chef), overall the staff was very friendly and helped regarding all our requests. Relaxed atmosphere No, we were very happy. Clients should be aware that although the rooms are very reasonably priced (semi-luxurious, I would say), the restaurant is very expensive. But it was well worth it. The food was stupendous.
Great Service and Food, very rustic and very french Air conditioning did not work very well in the room because of poor design
Accomodation is very complete, staff is professional. The ambiance is nice (manor and chapel). Swimming pool relatively big. The elevator in the chapel is very slow and the carpet in it has to be cleaned. But this is a minor issue.
Standard of hotel A1 100% top notch, as too were the staff. Fantastic location, ditto premises and attention to detail. Totally perfect in every way, could not have been better. We will return.....
perfect kitchen and stuff, nice pool and atmosphere
The hotel is beautiful with excellent grounds. First class restaurant. The air-conditioning in our room did not work which made for a very hot night. Staff were informed but took no action.
Beautiful house and light traditional decor. Breakfast was 17 euros, you need to eat a lot of food to get any value at this price. What do you do if you just want a coffee and a croissant? Some hotels now offer an express brakfast like this at 7 or 8 euros. For business people it is a perfect solution to this problem.
Nice relax garden, good parking place, nice building, rooms where decorated in a nice way. Hotel is situated very central so that you can do a lot of day trips in the neighbourhood, with a bike or better with car. The restaurant serves very good food but you need to make a reservation in advance. The hotel is situated in the middle of a small village (you have to like that), a lot of noise in the rooms coming from outside during the night, waking you up, if we where there more nights we certainly went to another place. The staff could be more friendly. To expensive for what you get. Breakfast cost a extra 17 euro but is not worth it. When sitting on the terrace we had to wait extremely long for service. Hotel is ok but not fine-tuned enough and certainly not for that price.
hotel design and rooms are somewhat interesting, the room we had a small garden and direct access to the swimming pool.
Wonderful ambience and decor
The hotel - un chateau - was super beautiful, the room was also exquisite, the swimming pool area was very good and the reception was perfect: the lady spoke very well English and gave us all the necessary information. The dinner was excellent.
Peaceful, well appointed and helpful staff Nothing
Wonderful garden, friendly staff and the atmosphere of this historic place Wifi was very slow in the room
The knowledge and helpfulness of the staff about food, wine and the area were outstanding. The setting and the garden and terrace were beautiful. The mattress was too hard.
overall building look, concept, garden, heritage (marquis de Sad mansion) the room (suite) was indeed very basic. although the furniture looked antique, room was spacious & overlooking beautiful Provence scenery, the overall room interior & facilities were very basic indeed (unpainted wood, old stone floor without carpets - I am now sure whether marquis would be using this floor in his bedroom :), very unconfortable bathtube - every time after the shower half of the water was in the bathroom and then in the room itseld
The terrace was magnificent. Hotel employees were very nice and helpful. uncomfortable pillows
Absolutely lovely setting.
It was perfectly clean and beautifully decorated. Also, the property was lovely and well kept. Every staff member with which I had contact was polite, kind, and helpful. The location is very nice and close to many visitor destinations. I simply liked everything, and I plan to take a group back next summer. The breakfasts were a bit expensive. That said, the selection was huge, and so the price was quite understandable. As a solo traveler, I just made it my big meal of the day. It would be better if the selection was just a little smaller and the price was a bit less. Other than that, I have zero issues. the hotel was wonderful.
setting, garden, hot tub breakfast was quite expensive, so why charge extra for an omelette? seemed a bit mean. pool did not look particularly inviting
location and staff
Very helpful staff. Rather plain rooms for the price.
The location is beautiful although some rooms look at the car park, which is a pity. The bed are confortable and the staff is helpful as long as you don't ask him something he is not used to as it does not receive many business people.
The garden and breakfast by the stream; quiet and interesting; close to the town
Lovely, relaxing hotel. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast is expensive but it is a great breakfast. Treat it as a brunch and it is good value.
Swimmingpool and tennis was good, they would not speak englisk, so it was a little bit difficult to speak with them.
Nothing The reception area was a shambles, there was construction going on, the owners children and dog played in the hallways, there was no Wifi in the rooms as advertised. The place was a mess,
Nice hospitality. Dificulty in finding the location.
I enjoyed the silence and the style of the building. The location is good for exploring the surrounding villages and nature. We would have preferred to have single beds nxt to ach other as opposed to one 1,5 person bed.
Nice and clean hotel, and the rooms are fine. Pool is nice, and the area is quiet. No internet in the rooms, no aircondition, no minibar/refrigiator in the room, and poor service at the pool area during the afternoon.
Hotel was in a nice quite location within walking distance of the centre of St Didier. It was an excellent stopping of point on our journey and i would have enjoyed staying longer. we had a large terrace overlooking the pool. The chef obviously cares and we thought the hotel was a very good 3 star standard and very good value for money. Do not agree with the reviewer who complained about the price of wine
Quiet atmosphere with no noise Concentrates on Gourmet food, wider selection of normal dishes in the menu required
helpful staff, fine dining I pictured the hotel as being more secluded than it actually was and with a view
Everything!! We had eaten at this hotel two years ago, and decided to spend a very special anniversary for one night en route to St Tropez. The room was very comfortable overlooking the beautiful gardens and swimming pool. Food was wonderful, tasty and well presented. A place to return to!
Away from the centre of the old city, which was packed because of the Avignon Festival. Peace and quiet with rest and relaxation by the swimming pool could be followed by a short drive into the centre and some sight seeing.
Staff very helpful especially reception.Food was very good aswell. Expensive for the quality of the rooms-the hotel definitely needs to be refurbished and updated. There were no lounges/sitting areas and the restaurant/swimming pool area felt very cramped.Overall very expensive. For some reason my booking (I cancelled and then rebooked at a cheaper rate) didn't reach the hotel-luckily the hotel had a room.We moved after two nights.
convenience too many little things were annoying at this hotel 1) canvas chair on my terrace broke as I sat in it, should have been noticed as defective. 2) no light in closet, and closet door hard to open as bed side table in the way 3) toilet room no where near sink, hard to wash hands, 3) restaurant rather grim and food only ordinary (unusual for France) 4) poolside noisy and crowded 5) No newspapers in the morning as at all other good hotels 5) my bath tub and sink dribbled the water in and out...took 35 minutes to fill tub 6) did not clean room until 2:00PM
We found the hotel to be very relaxing and peaceful. The staff were helpful and the food very good. The only slightly disappointing item was the Breakfast Buffet. Rather limited and unexciting.
Staff was very kind. Make you feel the most important guest in the hotel. The room was clean and nice, exacty as I expected. Breakfast is too expensive.
Silence, gardens and staffs Due to very weak signal reception, WIFI internet access is not available as described
Friendly staff, cleanliness, excellent value for the cost
Room was good and breakfast was excellent No swimming pool
close to restaurants and shopping mall. The front desk counter was friendly and helpful the parking compound was dusty.
Bar not open until 1800
A nice hotel in a small village.
Since this is the only hotel outside of Rousillon but close to it we had no option. But anyway the place is pretty nice, big room, clean bed, tv and everything you need for a one-night stay. Price is a bit higher than I`ve expected for such a location.
We really liked the peace and quiet. It was very restful. And we liked the food!
A real "Hotel de Charme et de Silence" at 12km from Isle Sur La Sorgue - beautiful superior room fresh and clean (even if there is no air conditioning) - very good breakfast with fruit juice, fresh croissant and bread, home made marmalade, milk, coffee at a right price (5€) - we also had a dinner in the restaurant and it was very good
The location is very nice. Close to nature, ideal place to relax. Not far from the typical romantic little villages. Very friendly and helpful staff (they happily give you ideas what to see in the surroundigs), perfect services.
Everything, excellent hotel. No.
The calmest place I have ever stayed in my life... Nothing
Quiet location in rural setting.Great location for visiting Fontain,Gordes,Les Beaux,Roussilon etc.Weeven drove to Carmargand Avignon for day trips.Good restaurants nearby Domeniquesin Fontain and Jardin in St Didier Main coutyard needs to be paved as gravel really too noisy for guests coming and going.Swimming pool needs a heater.Main man in charge, Thomas, has just a touch of Basil about him.
superb hotel, superb owners,superb food
The location was wonderful. Ideal if you want to literally get away from it all. We were in a ground floor room and could hear the people above us very clearly - especially at 5 o'clock in the morning when their baby needed feeding.
The family suite was new and beautifully done-tile floors, high ceilings, very nice bathroom. Quiet and very Mediterranian. Relaxing Didn't know there was an in-house restaurant so we ate dinner before arrival.
The gardens were lovely; we enjoyed stting under the trees in the evening sampling a glass of the local wine. Nothing we did not like.
This is a beautiful countryside hotel. The room, the facilities and the view were beautiful. the air conditioning was broken and while it was fixed, the overall cooling at the hotel was not working very well during all our stay. Restaurant and breakfast are very expensive
very good michelin starred restaurant, quiet location in a garden the room was charged at 170 euros whereas the booking was made at 165 euros. This was only noticed later.
