The staff, Veronica and Paolo, could not be nicer. They were very helpful with suggestions of places to eat and things to do. They gave us several phone numbers in case we needed something and they weren't on site. The location was ideal for me because the hotel is a short walk from the train station and a short walk from the beach. Since it is not right on the beach, or the large street that parallels the beach, it is very quiet there. Getting to sleep or sleeping in were no problem. The room itself was always clean and neatly made up. The air conditioning was much appreciated as it can be quite warm in Viareggio. Access to Wifi is also a big plus. The bar around the corner where they provide breakfast was very pleasant.
Veronica and Paolo at Burmalacco Gold were friendly and hospitable from beginning to end. Before arrival, they sent us an email to give directions and confirm arrival time (a nice touch we thought), and upon arrival were informative and helpful with everything from where to eat and what to see during our time in Viareggio. We were in town for a Wedding, and they also helped us book our taxi's to the venue so we didn't have to mess about. The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable, with nice size bathrooms and all of the amenities you would expect. Breakfast is served in a small cafe just around the corner, and although this is a little limited, it suffices for a quick coffee and pastry before heading off for the day.
Burlamacco Gold is a great quiet B&B located 5 minutes walk from pleasant beaches in Viareggio (though is worthwhile taking a 30 minutes walk to get to the more reserved beaches where all you see is nature), and also 5 minutes walk from the train station (when you buy the ticket don't forget to validate it in the yellow machines otherwise the fine could reach €50) which means there is no need to hire a car to go wherever you want, either relax in the beach or city trips to visit the beautiful cities in Tuscany. The friendliness and the willing to help of the owners/managers (Veronica & Paolo) is unbelievable, giving all the indications about the area and places to visit. I'm definitely staying again with them whenever I return to Viareggio
I liked the location particularly. Very convenient for beach, shops etc.I liked the contemporary style. A very friendly welcome on arrival.
This was a very new b & b everything in the room was new and very clean.it was small but we knew this before we went.Paulo and Veronica were very pleasant and helpful. Close to the railway station but we always felt safe.
Everything. The hotel has only been opened 2 months but the effort put in by the couple who own it to make their guests welcome would put a number of other hotels to shame. Even having to walk 50m to get your breakfasat a nearby cafe is not a problem.
Very new, perfect cleaning, very central location near to the beach and shops. Very kind staff. New and very comfortable beds! Quiet neighborood. Convenient price
Very quiet although very central location. Not much choice for breakfast. No cereals. Pastries were oily and sweet
Staff were very friendly and very helpful with good dining recommendations. Made me feel welcome in an area I knew little of. The room was in a quiet street and convenient to train station and beach, as well as eateries and shops. Breakfast is typically italian - a coffee and a brioche in a cafe next door - not that substantial but convenient. I would stay here again.
Lovely comfortable large rooms with antique furniture. Great location - in the centre of everything and right on one of the busiest shopping streets. As the hotel is located on a main shopping street - the noise of an evening / night can keep you awake at night if you have a room which looks directly onto the street.
The design of the hotel was a medieval age design and was so nice. The room was clean. The staff was not good at english but they were kind and helpful. The location is in the middle of the train station and Pisa tower. You can walk anywhere in Pisa. The bathroom was very small but it was clean.
It was very clean and I found the staff multilingual, very friendly and helpful. The heating did not work, so they gave me another room, which was fine.
This B&B has really nice design (interior design and furniture), and the owners are really nice, helpful and friendly. Federico gave me a lift to go and pick up the rental car. The breakfast was great. The location is outside Pisa, but fine with a car. The room was luxurious and had nice touches like chocolates, chilled water, and bath robes. We made a silly mistake with the PIN number for the door. This was totally our fault, and it was after midnight, but when I tried calling the different telephone numbers there was no answer, and it took a lot of time, knocking and ringing, before we woke someone up to help us. We really wondered what we could do as we were locked out. So it might be difficult to contact somebody if you had a problem. As I said it was our fault entirely, but it's the kind of problem you would have at a B&B and not at a hotel. Perhaps they should display a phone number at the gate and by the door, in case of problems. With regard to the room, there was no window you could open (it was locked) - I like to be able to get some fresh air if I want!
We loved the space of the apartment suite for our family, and the sleek modern design with attention to comfort aswell. We struggled to find it in the dark without sat-nav
Great B&B/Hotel. Good location between Pisa center and Livorno (Ferry to Corsica).
The hotel is very new and nicely designed. Very clean and nice room, comfortable bed. Extremely helpful and friendly staff, very welcoming and just the sweet people.
I liked the welcoming atmosphere, the design of the hotel, the home made cake and coffee for breakfast. The host of the hotel was very helpful and kind every time - there was no request he could not solve!
We left the B&B and refused to stay. The smoke when you walked into the lobby was overwhelming. We asked to see our room because we told them that smoke really bothers us and they said customers can't smoke in their rooms. Then why can't we see it? None of the staff could answer; they just speaking in Italian to each other. Finally they called a lady from the Hotel Leonardo in Pisa and she gave us a smoke free room in Pisa for the same price. Never, never recommend this B&B
The landlady was extremely friendly and helpful, and the room clean and very stylish. I would highly recommend this for anyone staying for a few days in Pisa looking for a small, family-run place to stay.
Gaia and family and extrordinary. The building was clean and well kept. Close to tower etc. Great friendly dog! Only bummer was the loud road noise due to location, and then no breakfast provided, but we loved the place and people. Just take your ear plugs and some coffee to prepare yourself in the nice clean kitchen!!!
