Pros:

The staff did not recognize my rental and claimed that they did not have my contact information from Kayak to inform me that they had cancelled my reservation and did not have cars available. My phone number and contact details were clearly listed on the reservation with Kayak.

Cons:

They were not willing to make any accomodation. It would have been better if I had gone elsewhere.

The customer service rep was precise in her information. Basically took my license, typed out info then handed me the keys. No extra communications. At this location you pick up the car yourself from a very dim lit garage. When I returned the car I told her the car was not clean. Her response was we video the car before it goes out. I said the car was sandy, including in the backseat, between the seats. Her reply was we video before it goes out. I said no, when I picked up the car it had sand all inside the vehicle. Again, her response was we video the car before it goes out and adjust amount if necessary. What? So they take videos instead of cleaning it?

The lady at the desk at CLT airport treated me badly. She went from bubbles and buddies with the two previous clients. I think it was their ethnicity versus mine. I was promised and paid for an SUV and was put in a compact. She said none were available then back peddled and said I would have to wait if I wanted a larger car. When I got to the deck there were several SUV’s parked around me. I am a 300 lb Chinese American. I attempted to be pleasant and engage in a friendly manner and she never smiled. I did NOT get what I paid for and her service was awful. She treated the two black people before me totally different than I was treated. If you trace cameras back you can confirm this by her mannerisms and body language.

Horrible. 1.5hrs waiting time for pickup. Then for return the same line. Actual price including mandatory fees (ofcourse 'mentioned' in the 15 pages small print) 3 times higher than shown price when I made the booking. Worst experience with a car rental ever. Will not rent at Hertz again and definitely not via Kayak

It was poor this time because I was given a faulty car which they knew about . The battery was flat after I parked the car the first time. . Then I found out there emergency service wasn’t open after 7pm and had to wait till the next day . They started the car in one minute and told me I had to drive to a battery shop . Here they said the battery was fine. Which tells me hertz had had a problem with the car before my rental started . Lost a complete day of my rental . Still waiting two days later for a response to my claim

Great professional service. I love great service. I appreciate Sunday office hours in Lille, mean later opening. But if possible, opening before 12pm could help renters get on their trips sooner and allowing more stops along the way - just a suggetion.

I had changed my reservation April 2nd. Cars were now half the price. They told me my reservation was now confirmed for a mid size car. $448 us. Arrived in Palm Springs, they new nothing of it, regardless of my confirmation. Ended up with the original vehicle. They have now charged me $950 us. I have a complaint in. Never again.
