Nice/helpful staff, comfortable bed, pretty clean. Crappy hairdryer, broken air conditioner, too-small shower curtain--all of the little touches that make a hotel nice were completely missing. Would not stay here again.
The staff was extremely helpful. Parking lot filled up at night & I had to park on the street.
updated rooms were nice, friendly staff that took care of our issue. air conditioning worked good. wasn't up in time for the continental breakfast but they have one. I would stay there again. Jacuzzi spa will only fit 4 people , no pool, next to car wash and fast food drive thru, try to stay on other end of complex. the Jacuzzi wasn't working so I brought it up to the manager and he ended up moving us to a room with a jetted tub.
The location is nice to visit Stanford-University
I live in the area, but just needed to get out of the house and find a quite place to study with reliable internet access. This place was PERFECT! Beautiful/simple courtyard made it feel more like a working vacation. There is a wine shop up the road that has a great selection and the friendliest staff. Check it out while you're here.
Best free continental breakfast I have ever had omlettes, fresh waffles ,biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, juice ,coffee, cereal, Keurig coffee machine in room. DVD player in room
Friendly staff and very accomodating as always. Make you feel home.
Mid-price hotel with 1st class amenities. I really appreciated the thick towels, top quality sheets (& no icky bedspread!) and robe. Room designed to feel spacious: closets, microwave & frig located in alcoves, with out taking up room space. Full-length mirror. Good lighting. Large variety at courtesy continental breakfast--eat healthy or splurge a little. Check-in & check-out procedure extremely efficient and convenient! Service not intrusive, but friendly.
Stayed here for several nights and found the hotel to be very well managed, clean and reasonably priced. Room was very clean and nicely furnished. Staff were excellent. Breakfast was pleasant.
It was close to where I had to be the following morning. The area was not the best.
If you're looking for a clean and inexpensive place to stay in Redwood City, I would recommend this hotel. I found our room to be very clean, neat, and a lot larger than I had expected. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was a little hard, but overall pretty comfortable. I would give this hotel a 9 out of 10.
A very Nice rooom...Good location...Quiet and the staff was really nice!
The room was very clean and bigger than expected. Has a frig and microwave as well as TV and DVD player. The person at the reception area bent over backwards to be helpful. Only 3+ miles to Stanford Med Ctr and a great place to stay if you are a patient's family. Highly recommend
It was great the room was wonderful and the staff was great. Lots of steps so hard to get to if you are older. Also bring pillows if you want more than one,
price of room was exorbitant. No restaurants within walking distance.
As a business traveler, I found this place to suit my every need. The location and proximity to the industrial park and dining was excellent. The cinnamon rolls are to die for. And they a wonderfully friendly Staff.
Nothing AC didn't work. Pool was cold. Breakfast was horrible - worse than what one can buy in a gas station. Tub would not drain. Room was not clean. Staff was rude. I asked for extra towels for the freezing cold pool, and had to argue to get two of the three I requested. I was told not to eat it when I pointed out how disgusting the breakfast was. The place is a shit hole.
Blood on towels. Roaches in the room. Stink.
It was quiet. Had to have a maintenance man come to move a piece of furniture in order to turn on some overhead ceiling lights - switch was behind the furniture! I had requested a bathtub & asked the front desk if my room had one and was told yes--he didn't bother to tell me that there was NO WAY to plug it to hold water! There was no luggage rack. Desk clerk did not speak English well.
Clean, well furnished, and good mattress.
The room has quit some space and good facilities. The breakfast is poor, as a matter of fact it isn't a breakfast at all.
It's location near san Francisco The Spa should be renewed and the rooms could use some refreshment as well.
Close to Stanford where my daughters is in the hospital. It's just ok. Pretty much a slightly better motel 6. Cheap and clean. That's it. Breakfast was ok. Not great.
Good deal Costruction
Positive: - It is inexpensive and conveniently located (if you're in Redwood City) Negatives: - The motel is very dated and somewhat rundown - The rooms smelled like old, dirty wash rags - Although the room looked like it had been updated recently, it was still quite shabby and worn - The walls and doors are as thin as rice paper. You are going to hear every step, belch and fart. Not to mention the other things...
Size of room, fridge, microwave, breakfast, cost The cleaning of the rooms could be improved, every once in awhile move furniture out to clean corners, around baseboards and under furniture a bit better
Free snacks in the lobby, free hot breakfast. Fridge, microwave, coffee maker, iron, dvd player, spa in room! Very spacious room also had work area. Close to shops. Very friendly staff. Checkout at 12pm would have been ideal although was available for only $10 more. Road noise was a little loud but did not hear much noise from other rooms which was nice. Some channels didn't come in clearly but the dvd player worked great so I was able to watch a movie I purchased.
Good location. Close to Stanford. Ok jacuzzi tub. nice room with desk and 2 extra chairs. Good for eating dinner on.
Comfortable bed, nice spacious bathroom, great breakfast and beautiful rose bushes. Weird random multiple, unexplained screaming in the middle of the night and early morning....kind of creepy. Either we had thin walls and loud active neighbors or ghosts...we chose the former.
Front desk service. Too much street noise, all night. Noisy refrigerator. Unplugged it in middle of night.
Basic, clean, comfortable, quiet room, good shower, everything you need.
Booked a non smoking room when I checked in none were available, had to take a smoking one since I had prepaid. Room smelt like an ashtray with burn spots on bed and curtains. People were allowed to drink and smoke in the hallway and parking lot, street party atmosphere, I didn't feel safe and it made the smoke stench even worse!
Room was clean, facility was clean, accommodating. Friendly staff. Eggs were not fresh...byt okay
The location was the only thing I liked about Comfort Inn Redwood City. The downtown Redwood City area and courthouse were very easy to get to from the hotel. The room had a body order smell in it that we noticed from the moment we walked in. The sink area had dirt piles in the back corners on the counter. The bedspread stunk like dirty body oder. The towels and wash clothes had yellow stains on them, so we did not want to use them. I was glad I bought a spare washcloth from home.
Large, clean rooms. Despite the location directly at El Camino Real, the rooms are quiet. The breakfast is of the usual motel variety - nothing to get excited about but allows you not to start the day hungry. The location is not very nice. It is safe enough (I didn't have any problems whatsoever), but it sits directly at El Camino Real - so if you want to go for a nice stroll before bedtime, this is not for you.
The service was excellent. It's minimalist for sure, no added goodies like water or cookies in the room, but with such good service it just reminded us of what a good value it was. You have to keep costs low to keep prices down. And there is a market just behind with lots of cookies & food.
The staff when checking in and assisting me with their computer was excellent
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
Very comfortable and well maintained. Staff were all potite and professional. N/A
Size and location of room. Decor and cleanliness of room. Firmness of bed. Quality of linens. AC worked well. We liked the infused water and fruit basket in lobby. Robot greeter with complimentary welcome water was fantastic! Street location was a bit sketchy. Internet was poor as it kept cutting in and out.
The rooms and bathrooms were modern and spacious. Good assortment of breakfast items.
I liked everything about our room (205): 1. Large comfy bed 2. Rolling table 3. Plenty of USB & electrical sockets...gotta have it. 4. Great TV + all the connections (HDMI, etc) 5. Bathroom super clean 2/ nice newer fixture 6. Loved robot 7. Staff Not enough small towels. Breakfast was awful. The sausage and ham were overcooked, stiff, and dry. Biscuits and gravy were below average. Decided to eat the 1 minute oatmeal and fruit instead. Need to offer stevia as a sweetener.
The room was incredible, far nicer than the star rating in my opinion. The staff was rude. Arrived at 2:40, would not let us check in until 3:00 sharp. My fiancé was sick, so I tried to bring her breakfast to the room, the lady wouldn't let me; when we came in and ate together she stared as us, arms crossed the whole time
everything park was a problum foe me because of my trailer
Quiet; friendly staff, especially at breakfast. Price jumped up by $60 while we were searching. Room was a bit flimsy. Picture on wall made a fairly loud noise just from walking on the floor.
Clean, good breakfast every day. Comfortable stay with kuerig coffee in room. Location more towards downtown little crowded. Parking entrance in front only. No pool.
really nice in the details! feel warm! and the light in the room is just enough and vary convenient nothing I think of
Lucked into a room with plenty of light and a full-size couch. The rooms at this hotel appear to be recently renovated, and the renovation team was quite creative... this hotel looks nothing like any other Holiday Inn. Creative cleaning staff, too!
Everything was clean and neat.
We found everything clean and in good condition.
Well appointed rooms, efficient staff. Corner room was small and somewhat cramped; No towel rack or place to hang towels. Have stayed here before, and some of the other rooms are larger.
Receiption people are friendly and polite n/a
Clean and has good extras like microwave and fridge. There was a gap under the door. I had to roll a towel to close it up. Also it seems like a lot of hotels never have electrical plugs available by the beds.
The staff were so welcoming and helpful. I stayed for 7 nights and was impressed with the extra attention to details, from the soft sleeping masks and welcome water and snacks in the room, to the delicious and tidy breakfast room to begin my day. This facility provides big-name amenities without all the big name cost and delivers better. As a woman traveling alone, I will definitely stay here again when in the area. My room was impeccably clean, welcoming and very thoughtfully stocked. The extra toiletry items that are standard here I have not encountered at big name hotels. For my room, the older tile shower could use a thorough grout cleaning. Other than this, huge thumbs up.
Free parking Gym was not really a gym, no ventilation. It was like a sauna.
vicinity of Palo Alto
Conveinence to family home and friends. For an old hotel, it is kept up quite well. No luxery, just basics. Not really....
Very convenient location if you have business at Stanford; nice Jacuzzi and breakfast!
Very nice room in a US-style hotel, good taste in furniture and high quality materials, good self serve breakfast in a dedicated room, quiet
Water pressure for shower - minor in the overall scheme of things. For the value -
Service. Amazing attention to service.
service, size of room, accommodation generally, quality of the food, pool and gym, general ambiance
Everyone was so friendly and the hotel was clean and very pretty. Our room was great and we received a complimentary upgrade. Nothing! Having to leave :)
The training and courtesy of the staff, very comfortable bed and a relaxed atmosphere. All staff are simply delightful. The train track behind the hotel.
confort and clean rooms, new facilitation and fancy design, not quite near to Stanford yard but fair if you dirve. Worth of money.
Helpful staff, clean, elegant, comfortable, but not too pretentious Train noise, but proximity to train is a pro.
nice semi luxury
Friendly staff, wonderful location, and good food made for a very pleasurable stay. Also there was a nice pool. Wish the hot tub was working!
Comfortable and gracious Coffe in am really sucked, way to weak and cool
The beds are the reason I stay here
Service is outstanding; friendly and very attentive. nothing
Everything was first class. Staff, finish, food, amenities, attention to detail, all were above expectations. N/A
Well maintained nice hotel Music or other noises from outside could be heard inside a room during night.
Location is great - very near Stanford's campus. My room's thin walls and poor door didn't protect me from all the noise in neighboring rooms and on the busy road nearby. I needed ear plugs to fall asleep and stay asleep.
Free Parking. Free Wifi. Inexpensive. Bathroom was nice. Rooms were smaller and less swanky than at the Sheraton up the street which wasn't much more expensive. Also, saw a stain on a pillow. Key didn't work once and had to be re-coded.
It is across the street from the Stanford Shopping Center. A very upmarket, beautifully laid out center with Bloomies, Nieman Marcus, lots of restaurants and cafes.
breakfast is closing at 9:00am sharp. On Sunday went down to lobby at 9:25am and breakfast was all gone. No breakfast after 9:00am even on Sunday..
proximity to Stanford Hospital
refrigerator was nice to have as an amenity. Bed was comfy. our bathtub's drain stop didn't work. Had to cover drain with a cup to keep water in so I can give my daughter a bath.
Brown streak on the bed, crushed bugs on the walls, sliding doors bolted shut. Avoid!
The room and bathroom were clean, had high ceilings, was very satisfactory The TV channels weren't great, but we weren't there to watch TV anyway.
location easy to find. nice rooms. outstanding office staff. check in and check out both smooth and easy with Heba. Ahmad attentive to situation with noisy guests upstairs (seriously, they sounded like a herd of elephants clamping around up there! even my noisy 11 year old complained about the noise level.) he moved them ... we had a very restful night. then two nights with moderate noise. staff friendly, yet professional. the 11 year old loved the pool and we love that he then slept soundly. relatively affordable. downstairs rooms get waaay too much noise from upstairs. even my hard-of-hearing father mentioned how noisy it was. housekeeping staff seem unclear on how many people are staying in rooms, even for consecutive nights ... had to get towels twice! shower grout moldy. ceiling and on wall near ceiling moldy.
The staff they were great very polite and the rooms were very clean The other guest were very noisy.
It was and indoor like motel over all it was quite. And locked hallways doors as well as the door do to the room. It was clean. I booked though kayak however they didn't tell me when I got there of have to pay $100 for a security deposit. :/ The front desk seemed pretty strict on it. Hoping I get it back to cuz you can't get it garenteed before you leave.
There was mold on the shower floor. I asked twice for bleach to clean it myself but never got it. There are holes in the carpet.
Athena was extremely nice and helpful!
Upstairs folks were noisy
Excellent price (best price in the area) Friendly and helpful staff, clean, comfortable bed, easy access and parking, fridge and microwave in the room (coffee is in the lobby), 24 hr IHOP next door. Freeway noise: It is right next to the freeway, a mixed blessing because it is easy to get to, but the soundwall didn't get rid of the noise but instead seemd to make it this haunting whosh/screech. I overcame that by leaving the fan on in the bathroom and the bathroom door partially open and that masked it enough so I was able to sleep.
Close to highway, room was dark, weird smell everywhere, bed was not very comfortable, poor internet connection
quality of room, beds, shower/tub, tv, and staff were helpful not enough end tables next to bed, there was only one and had to improvise the other side.
Everything Pillows were too small and lumpy.
It was quiet. Breakfast on weekends does not open until 8am. That is no acceptable. The shower was almost a dribble to get even warm. When i stated that 8am was not acceptable for breakfast, the check in employee certainly did not care, that's the way it is.
Clean, friendly staff, good breakfast. In walking distance of many convenient stores. Quite neighborhood. Elevator was very slow
We have stayed here before and we enjoy the quiet, privacy, comfort, cleanliness and professional staffs assistance. We choose it as it is close to family living in the area. The pool area is small and typical for a small motel.
Free WI-FI, computers, parking Credit card was charged befor check in
Friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the room. We were there as it is close to the hospital where we're receiving treatment. Staff was very accommodating, letting us checkout a little later. Would return if don't plan to stay in the room for long. Value for money. Refrigerator and AC/heat was noisy when they come on, thin walls where we could hear people walking above us and neighbors talking at a normal conversation level.
Free upgrade to a Jr. Suite-Free breakfast. Quiet, good internet service No complients
Thank you for checjing on us at our arrival.
As seasoned travellers who have a reasonable sense for the level of security and cleanliness, my wife and I say that this 'hotel' is rated 'Unacceptable'. We will sleep in our car before sleeping here. \nI would not trust my family's safety in this area, and I certainly wouldn't leave anything of value in this hotel. The neighborhood is 'challenging' at best. If you read this and have doubts, then I can only suggest this; Having travelled into Mexico, Belize, Canada, Europe and USA; we have seen and travelled into 'poverty' and stayed there. \nHowever, this is one of those 'hotels' that is a 'NO WAY'\n
Great price, comfortable rooms, great food options nearby. Overall, this place isn't fancy but I would stay again for the value.
It has been upgraded and I would highly recommend this place.
NICE HOTEL , GREAT SERVICE AND ROOMS ARE CLEAN. NICE RENOVATION
San Carlos Inn is nice place to stay in the San Francisco bay area. I am happy with my stay at this hotel. Nice, very clean and quiet. I checked in 2 am with no issue clerk was very nice and helpful. Very safe neighborhood its very easy to get train for San Francisco. There are numerous great restaurant in San Carlos Downtown near by. The front Desk was friendly and courteous--we asked for extra pillow and towel and they provided with no problem. Bed was comfortable and the TV had lots of channels. I don't understand why people are so picky- this isn't some fancy five-star place. This is the kind of place I like to stay at.
My husband and I had went to CA .We wanted to visit SF. so we intended to stay south of the city. I was concerned because it was such a reasonable price for the room. Seems you get what you pay for, quite often. I was so thrilled to find a very very nice room, a small fridge and microwave, pretty quiet and safe. We were even more thrilled to find a grocery store a block away and the either way. After spending time in the city, we were VERY please with our choice of location, and specifically hotel. We will definately stay at San Carlos Inn again.
the motel is very small but the people are very nice. we had trouble with the t.v. and they fixed right away. I would stay there again
I really liked staying here. It was very close to Cal train station. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable. I would highly recommend this place to everyone! The hotel was pleasant, with very courteous staff. Since the price was very low, we didn't really have high expectations when we arrived so what we did see we liked and found very acceptable. Not luxury but then again we didn't pay for luxury. If you want peace and quiet, which is what we wanted, this is perfect.
I like this motel, will come again. Good service. Nice friendly staff.
For some reason, this hotel has received positive reviews on some online travel sites; unbelievable. I stayed at this establishment once and in doing so was able to determine that I will never stay here again. Upon arriving, the staff was rude and not very accommodating. I was checked into a room upstairs that was in complete disrepair and possessing a foul odor. The bathroom needed work to bring it up to 1950's standards. The towels and linens were threadbare. I had to cover the pillowcases with my own clothes so that my face and head were not subjected to hairs and anything else that happened to be present. Lastly, the lock on the front door was broken so I had to work to ensure the room was secure. The aforementioned are the highlights of this facility. When one considers its fairly consistent cost structure, you are far better served sleeping in your car.
I received good wireless service with a clean and comfortable room.
I was pleasantly surprised with my stay. I would highly recommend.
Staff was nice, room and bathroom were clean. The continental breakfast the next morning was very adequate. Room was on the first floor and I could people waking around on the floor above me in the middle of the night. I thought that booking.com would save me $$, but I would have gotten the same rate if I had walked in with my AAA card.
Its proximity to the event to which I went. I would have considered putting the heaters up a bit on the wall leaving floor space for occupant activity.
The staff was very corteous and attentive to your needs. The breakfast was perfect for on the go. The room was clean and the sheets smelled great. The price was right. The only thing was you can hear the traffic and noises outside.
Staff was quite courteous, even with a late evening check-in (the attendant walked me to my room as I was having trouble with the key!). The room was inviting, clean, with coffee available in my room. Would stay there again. A good value! I was relieved that there was parking within the hotel immediate area. Traveling alone, I would not have liked parking in the back lot late at night! But, the neighborhood seemed quite safe!
Andy, this is Manuel. Thanks very much for your educated manners. I see you soon.Manuel Fernandez. Motril, Granada, Spain. Take a look to the telephone line because I can't make any state and international calls. Thanks.
Hotel has a beautiful view of the bay, great bar and lounge area, staff was very friendly, parking is free and have a valet if needed. We only had breakfast and was more than adequate, a bit pricey. They have plenty of computers to use in the lobby for free and printers to access internet. No need for a laptop if you are not going to access files.
A beautiful location. Close to Stanford University, yet away from the conjestion. Somewhat taken aback that free coffee is not offered to guests.
overall personal was very friendly and helpful
comfortable and clean rooms. I was next to a service elevator and needed to change my room after I was all settled in for the night. I also asked for some toiletries and never received it
ease of access and location; comfortable pricey amenities and must drive to do anything not at the hotel
the restaurant had good food, and also good service. doormen were very pleasant and polite. cannot answer this question without getting into my complaints
Was a nice hotel free easy parking They started re-modeling work in the room next to me on Sunday morning, very disruptive. Breakfast also very disapointing
It was lovely very classy and posh. very reasonable price, handy for airport. The room was spot on.
Beautiful hotel with a good location close to the airport. Very comfortable. We had requested non feather comforter and pillows. They hadn't done this but sent an employee to change this immediately after we checked in. That was impressive!
