really helpfull freindly staff, I thought the bar area could have been a little more like a bar,it felt very cafe like.
Medium sized, intimate, friendly hotel with helpful staff. it was immaculately clean as were the fixtures and fittings, also the bar and restaurant areas, food was excellent also
Hotel room was very modern and all in all was a great stay over. Bar opening Hours - surely residents should be allowed to drink at the bar past 10pm?
locality to pricey. carpark bill, plus breakfast to be paid for.was going to stay here in Nov but booked another hotel.would only stay here if on offers as before
The hotel was clean and modern, easy to find and situated just off teh main road from Shrewsbury to Chester, ideal for teh local area and facilities but also a handy base if exploring the north wales mountains. Reception was polite, courteous and helpful. we were upgraded to a higher spec room at no additional cost. very enjoyable stay.
Good size room with friendly, helpfull staff. Easy to find location with excellent links to motorways
friendly staff, excellent food ,clean and comfortable rooms
lovely modern spacious room
staff made my stay very agreable and pleasant.
The hotel was excellent, the rooms were superb, the bar/reception areas were airy and bright really nice. The staff couldn't have been more helpful particularly the receptionist Donna.
I was upgraded to the Presidential Suite which is normally £1400 per night. Amazing hotel!!!!
We were celebrating our Silver Wedding - this was a last minute deal and we managed to secure a room for about 50% less of normal rate - on arrival the staff were attentive and after we told them about our Silver Wedding a small complimentary cake was left in the room. We had an automatic upgrade to i think a Classic Deluxe room, which was amazing. This is truly a 5 * hotel, and although only for one night - it lives up to everything described on their website - Amazing... The only thing i would say - is we were not told very much about the SPA facilities, it was a case of find out for yourself - but as we were only in the hotel for one night it wasnt really an issue.
It was beautiful, clean and luxurious. The staff were very friendly & helpful. An added touch that they would park the car for you - made a big difference on a busy saturday. The food in the Simon Radley restaurant was lovely and the staff were great. We had a fab time.
Excellent customer care in every way. Always ready to help but not intrusive. Nothing
We were a little disappointed with our room - we stayed in the classic suite and have stayed in many 4 star hotels which have far nicer rooms.
Great customer service and attitude of staff Prob with hot water making tea lukewarm!
The situation is ideal A little disappointed with 'The Brasserie'
The breakfast was superb. Both food and service were exceptional. The room was dark. The weather was bad and therefore the light outside was poor, but I was unable to find a position where I could sit and read comfortably. There was not a light which I could sit under.
Polite and helpful staff, beautiful room, excellent food and facilities. Everything you should be entitled to expect from a 5star hotel.
The bed was awesome All good
The bar was nice and had a good atmosphere, and plenty of different beers to choose from. Very comfortable, and nice pool etc for relaxing. We stayed on a Friday night so the restaurant was closed which limited the eating options. We didn't want to have a dinner/dance, I get ill on boats, the pizza place was only for snacks and the bar was full, so we ended up having to eat in town.
The Staff were very obliging and the restaurant service was excelent Lack of lounge facilities. During our pre-dinner drinks, We were asked to leave the residents lounge early Saturday evening due to it being reserved for the boat party. The other small lounge near reception was very crowded as was the bar area/football lounge
fantastic restaurant and entertainment bedrooms a little dated but still an enjoyable stay
Excellent position for access to the city centre. Super leisure facilities.Excellent staff very friendly. Nice meals. Surprised that it is only 3 star deserves more. We were upgraded to a higher level room on arrival. Nothing
Very close to the city centre and all shops and amenities. Hotel pool and spa was extremely relaxing. Hotel very clean and was really pleased with the free upgrade for our wedding anniversary. Would definitely stay again.
Located close to the city centre, friendly staff and nice pool. The breakfast was also quite good, and the room was spacious and comfortable. We had a room on the side of the hotel facing the dual carriageway and it was quite noisy.
i didnt like the fact that there was no air conditioning. the heat was overpowering and the rooms were too hot and stuffy to be comfortable
thought there may have been a bigger selection of hot food on breakfast buffet
the temperature in the spa/swimming pool was too cold.
The canal cruise, the spa. Noise from traffic, no air conditioning
the room was very noisey
nothing. did not like my stay at the hotel at all,to start with no room left in parking, the shower in our room was not good, the bar staff where not very nice and very expensive for what it is .will not be returning.
location of hotel breakfast on saturday was poor - not enough food, poor service. had to sort ourselves out and after requesting items still did not gwet them. have filled in complaint to hotel as above
the way 2 staff chatted with a guest whilst others were waiting to be served. came accross as quite rude
Comfort of room.
to pay for carparking in there carpark when you have paid them over £300 to stay for to nights
Quality much like all in chain but staff very friendly and efficient, keen to please Nothing
There was an air of unobtrusive efficiency Many of the breakfast plates were dirty!
The hotel was kept to a very high standard and we were pleased with every aspect of it
Good breakfast and fresh fruit bowl every day
Comfortable & clean, excellent location
the friendliness of the staff, the excellent service and fantastic food
carpets in the hallway desperately need renewing
a good cellar and knowledge of wines a very good menu and table service no
We received a very warm welcome at the Lemon Tree, the staff were super, our room was very comfortable and the food was excellent.
The food was excellent and it was a nice touch to have fruit in the room as well as biscuits. The mattress in room 3 was absolutely dreadful - we could feel every spring and it compressed right down when we sat on it. The room was right by a main road, just off a roundabout. This meant that with the lack of double glazing we could hear every vehicle changing gear and accelerating right outside our window. I can honestly say we had the worst night's sleep we've ever had. We couldn't wait to get home and have a nap. The light coloured carpet was heavily stained. There was wif-fi 'throughout the hotel' but on check-in I was told it might not be available in the bedroom, and it wasn't. I tried again in the dining area - no connection and once again in the small lounge just inside the front door - and again no signal.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Everyone made me feel very welcome and the hotel has a very friendly atmosphere. The restaurant is of a high standard and the food extremely good quality and well priced. Perhaps the best beef fillet I have ever eaten! The room I had, although very comfortable for one, was one the small side and perhaps would be too small for two people.
the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. just one thing, i was in the room above the front entrance and the noise at night was very loud with traffic, i would maybe suggest double glazing.
Friendly staff, excellent food and comfortable room. Nice atmosphere and pleasant surroundings. Thoughtful to place fresh fruit in room. Shower unit in my room was not good for a tall person! Diificult to adjust.
The location was perfect for the purpose of my visit. The room was rather shabby, grubby paintwork, mouldy grout in the bathroom. The staff were not welcoming or friendly, just did their job and nothing more.
Comfortabe room. Value for money. Quiet
the room was very nice restaurant very very good
A pleasant modern hotel in an excellent location. Room lighting level poor. Cleaning of room not upto standard.
Convenient location to Wrexham and Chester Food was adequate but with a little more effort could have been better
Comfortable room with good bathroom. Very helpful staff - happily changed our room immediately when there was a problem with a noisy bathroom fan. Lovely garden surroundings. Free WiFi. Quiet. Very good dinner in Oscar's Restaurant
We liked the comfort and cleanliness of our room. It was really warm and welcoming. It was a far nicer room than that of our friends in the older part of the building. (Room 44) The staff were excellent in reception, the bar and the restaurant and the breakfast was superb. Nothing to dislike.
The large room with the large comfortable bed and the food which was very good.
The restaurant food was good. The cleanliness of the room was a disgrace. The view from our room was a building site. There was dust/dirt everywhere, curtains hanging off the rail, carpets threadbear. We actually looked at 3 rooms. Stayed 1 night instead of 2.
The evening meals taken (3) were very good ,excellent menu. All the staff ,bar one ,were friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable if a little hot. We stayed 3 nights and our first experience of breakfast was not good, however the next 2 were very good.Hairdyer in the en-suite bathroom was a joke, perhaps more modern dryers could be available upon request. It would be good if the duvets could be chosen for the room temperature as the room was very warm and a light weight duvet would have been preferable to having to open the window.
The staff where very helpful and a credit to the hotel and its management The Room we stayed in was good, however the view from the windows was a brick wall, perhaps the hotel should invest in hanging baskets or something. If we stayed in this hotel again I would definately make sure that we didnt stop in room 10.
The room layout was good for families. Breakfast included was great. Help from the assistant at the front desk was useful and professional.
helpful staff/value for money
The room was excellent, we stayed in a deluxe room. The breakfast and evening meal was delicious. We stayed here as it was a great base for xmas shopping at Chester and Shrewsbury.
Friendly and helpful staff at reception
The hotel is extremely welcoming, with easy access from the main road. On entering the hotel the decor is very pleasent and clean, and the rooms nice and warm - very necessary with the snow outside during our visit. Use of the leisure facilities at Lion Quays was a real bonus.
The hotel was comfortable and good value for money. TV signal intermittent. Could not watch TV for most of the evening.
Deluxe rooms were great! Breakfast good. Very easy to find
Welcome was strange (to say the least) - "I wouldn't have let the room go for this price" said the man on reception - very welcoming! After that things improved. Nice large room good sized bed (though very soft for me) and a nice bathroom. Quiet location and very good breakfast for £5 each, The rather strange welcome. The very soft bed.
Swimming pool at sister hotel and brewkfast
Quiet A facility to install a child safety gate on the mezzanine stairs would have been really helpful
The location of the hotel handy for the train and a free bus to the centre was excellent. Breakfast was one of the best I've had. Hotel staff very friendly Our room was at the front of the hotel, this was very noisy thoughout the night and early hours due to taxi rank outside and parties leaving hotel
good staff nice big hotel
Good breakfast The cleaner left the rubbish bag on the chair after cleaning. Unable to get the WiFi working on my laptop
The welcoming staff and the warm friendly atmosphere. The room was clean and the food was very good Being charged £10 per day for car parking
The Staff were generally very helpful. The decor is certainly querky but if anything too dark and depressing. It detracts from what could be a nice hotel.
breakfasts were excellent wide choice of dishes staff very helpfull romm was very clean
Beautiful hotel, lovely room, fantastic breakfast. Close to shops, great choice of bars and restaurants near by. Really enjoyed our stay. Downside's, Bath in our room was too short, could not lie down in it. The room although beautiful, felt a little cramped, to much furniture me thinks!
Loved the cocktails!! Excellent bar staff. Good morning breakfast set us up nicely for a day's shopping Throughly enjoyed our whole stay
convenience for city centre and out of town journey The migraine-inducing carpet, especially on the stairs! Why do hotels DO this?
Convenient location, car parking available, good breakfast and generally good value. The hotel is old and "tired" and shows its age. But it was clean. Bathroom facilities could do with updating as could bedroom decor..
Very helpful staff, lovely atmosphere, good food, good sports facilities.
The most Friendly service
-Very quiet place, although there were weddings - close to Chester - nice rooms the music in the dinig room, always the same or nothing, not professional
Breakfast was great .How nice to have a freshly cooked breakfast though new crockery urgently needed Stained cracked crockery every morning for breakfast,Leaking radiator,(reported but not mended in the three days we stayed) very dirty window ledges, carpet edes and doors hand/finger smudges on doors which did wipe away with a little effort, therefore one felt that the cleaning was below standard and not observed by management.
It has a great location, very fine restautant. In fact we wish we had more time to enjoy the hotel and its facilities.
oasis of calm, spacious comfortable room, spacious bathroom, most friendly and helpful staff.
The hotelitself was lovely, well decorated adn luxuirous, the spa area was fantastic. We ate in the restaurant and the the service and food were both fab!
Quality hotel ,, great service from all the staff ...
Staff were all friendly, ambience was excellent, beautiful peaceful grounds and hotel. The room windows must have been open for about a week, I spent the first hour of checking in killing all the mosquito's and flies in the room.
The extremely attentive staff who made this hotel such a world apart from so called "posh hotels". Beautiful situation, close to Chester and yet in the middle of nowhere. One of my better choices. The other reviews have an element of truth regarding the requirement for updating the decor.
the friendly staff and the comfortable room also the excellent menu plus my single was actually a double but the charge was the same
the staff the cold water tap in the bathroom didnt work!
The evening meal with live music was the highlight.
closeness of all rooms to parking cosiness of rooms would have been better if there had been some more reasonably priced plainer food than what was on offer
Sound Proofing (?) of the room. No trakiffic noise
Convenient location. Easygoing, friendly staff. Bathroom facilities good except that they looked nothing like the stylish photos on the website and the waste in the basin did not pop up to allow the water out.
The hotel was bright and modern and the rooms were comfortable. Breakfast was good, plenty of variety, it was altogether a good experience.
Everything. Excellent breakfast and good value. No adequate ventilation in bathroom - light on dresser not working. This was reported to reception
The hotel staff went that extra mile to ensure our stay was enjoyable. We travelled with our young 2 year old son, and our breakfast table was set up in the morning with a highchair ready for our use. The beds were very comfortable, the decor in the bar and restaurant was excellent, lovely garden too. Would definitely recommend for families, business, romance.
This is the second time I have stayed here and would stay again with no problems. Friendly staff, good food, easy to find, nice big safe car park too. I will stay there again. Didn't really want to get up in the morning but apart from that there is nothing I can say bad about my stay.
Every Premier Inn is the same. You know what you are getting. Booked twin room on line. Got a double room .Booked dinner in the restraunt when we arrived but it was not passed to the restraunt. Both of these were not big problems for us but other people maybe!!
Helpful staff location of hotel and the surrounding areas.
Staff were courteous and helpful Bit dingy, bath had mould on sealant and net curtaining was grubby and room smelt a bit "stale"
Location, spacious rooms, good value restaurant, helpfull staff. No room phones.
The spaciousness of the bedroom and the helpfulness of the staff. Not enough teabags and milk.
Clean and quiet at night Tiles in bathroom soiled at bottom
The welcome we received, and the standard of the hotel.
In a nice countryside setting, quiet and peaceful Food not great at the Table Table next door, with the exception of breakfast which was lovely. WIFI too expensive
Within easy reach of town centre and family residences. The family room was quite spacious. The staff were very professional The mattresess in our room were all hard. Breakfast served between 7- 9am. We found it too early as the booking out time was 12noon.
The receptionist was excellent, looked after us very well and very friendly. The room was perfect and the breakfast was delicious!
close to city with comfortable rooms excellent parking and a fantastic michael caine restaurant . staff very polite and helpful
Excellent location - 2 minute walk to the city centre. Room was amazing value for money - standard room would have been the equivalent to a luxury room in many hotels. Breakfast was delivered to our room free of charge. Will definitely stay there again.
Central location, new and modern Poor breakfast, pricey and limited parking
Comfortables beds Reception area too dark
Modern Friendly staff, the decor in exec room superb, minimalist and cool, next time will eat there, but a good hotel
The room we stayed in was very nice, very big and modern styling. The staff were very helpful and there was always somebody on reception if you needed them. The car park is alittle bit tight to drive around and the pillows were hard but there only little things to worry about.
Excellent room.Breakfast very good Trying to get in was difficult as was parking
Very good location for shopping and to visit Michael Caines Restaurant Our original room was noisy, however the hotel were very good about changing room. The Michael Caines restaurant was cold and noisy from the Champagne bar next door. The food was excellent
The locality and the car parking facility. None
Comfortable, clean rooms for a few hours sleep. Basic but exactly what would be required of a crash-pad. Only food available is breakfast. If you're hungry at any other time you only have a vending machine.
Excellent location to celebrate my friends 40th birthday Some contents were stolen from the boot of my car whilst in the car park
Parking facilities and location to town center
Good value for money and very close to the town centre, ideal and convenient for Christmas shopping. The cook food for breakfast was very limited, just scrambled egg and sausages.
Willingness of staff to do extras - order taxis, keep suitcases etc
The welcome on arrival at reception. The quality of the Wi-Fi Broadband in the rooms and lobby. The no-nonsense breakfast fare. Lining up for the various breakfast items was a bit unorganised and free-for-all.
The location was ideal for shopping, short walk to the centre although quite steep if anyone is infirm the inconsideration of other hotel guests who have been out for the night and come back in the middle of the night along corridors being very loud and banging doors, perhaps a notice on all lifts and landing doors saying quiete please think of other guests !!!
Convenient to town centre Bed Mattress needs changing Hollow in middle.!!!!!!!!!!!
clean rooms, helpful staff, free parking. breakfast a bit of a free for all.
pleasant and friendly staff, clean and cosy room with amazing views
Very friendly staff and good food. Lovely location. The room we were initially shown to had not been cleaned or made up. However, we were immediately upgraded to an executive room as recompense, so no real complaint there.
We enjoyed the food and the rooms and thecountryarea, we weren't too impressed with the narrow roads for our big rental car. All told we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay
The rooms were lovely; really well decorated and very clean The complimentary breakfast was not very generous
Friendliness, excellent food and superb surroundings.
Only issue was the the internet was down for the first 2 days. We booked here specifically for this as we work while travelling and this was a problem for us.
The staff, the setting, the meals were all excellent. Nice to have my dog able to join us in the hotel. I have no faults to find at all with the hotel
Very pleasant surroundings. Nice food, comfortable clean room No, except that its a little confusing when you arrive to know where to find the reception area. We were charged for someone else's meals and stay instead of our own, however this rectified speedily oncec it was pointed out.
beautiful setting & lovely rooms, furnished to the highest standard
The ambience of the bar / lounge area. There was no where to relax after dinner as all areas were taken over by tables. Because of the wooden floors, it is noisy if you are located on teh ground floor. Carpets in the upstairs rooms would help.
