The beds were fine, it was very clean. There was shampoo and soap. The location was close to the freeway and several restaurants. This is not a high end hotel but it is perfect for travelers coming off I-5, hikers, or anyone who needs a clean cheap place to sleep. It was very quiet. There were a few small things we didn't like, the closet door didn't close all the way and the heater was either ON or OFF no thermostat. So even though it was snowing outside we had to adjust the heater a few times during the night, not a huge deal.
Location, room size, pool was clean, Parking too small, no shampoo for room price,
When we arrived, we found to our dismay it was a smoking room that had been booked. Never fear! Jackie on the desk was able to get us booked into a non-smoking king room at the same rate. Jackie was extremely helpful! We stayed at several hotels on our trip to Portland and the Best Western in Yreka was the most comfortable and had the best breakfast, hands down!
It's situated on a creek. It feels new and well cared for. Staff very helpful. Relaxing.
The staff was excellent after arriving late we were tired and ready for bed. Check-in was a breeze and staff made sure we were aware of what they had to offer. Room was large, clean, and bed was so comfortable. If you're in the area this is the place to stay.
For an older motel, it was very well kept. close to freeway, no noise, bed was very comfortable. room did not have flat screen (HD) TV. seems most do =, maybe they are working they way to this room too. Thats it!
It's convenient, clean, reasonably priced and has all the amenities we need. For example: microwave, fridge, coffee maker, ironing board TV, wi-fi, Table and chairs! great to spread out and do some work or have a meal. comfortable bed. Roomy. Don't feel crowded or cramped.
Beds comfortable, hotel quiet, good location Bad coffee, very limited breakfast
Clean rooms, full breakfast. Indoor pool! We stayed at this same hotel 3 years ago and had a great experience. However, our next visit was one of the worst we as a family ever had. Check in was smooth and easy. We got our key and headed up to the room. The room was clean and nice, my girls were happy because we stayed at a Holiday Inn express in Medford earlier in the week and it was not a great experience. The room smelled (even though it was non smoking). Well we liked this Yreka Holiday Inn Express. Took the kids to the pool for 1-1/2 hours and they had a great time. Wife worked out in the small fitness center. We headed out to eat dinner and came back at 10pm. Got ready for bed and had the air conditioning down to 68 degrees. My wife woke me at 1:15 am and the room was hot, my 4 year old was begging for water and they were sweating. I tried to adjust the AC unit to a lower temp and a higher temp to no avail, the unit would turn on for a minute then turn off for 5. We called the front desk and the employee asked me to look for the thermostat in the room, I felt embarrassed for not using it but sure enough I looked while the employee waited on the phone. Could not find the thermostat. I did discover the thermostat was ripped off the wall and was not in the room. The employee then tells me to set the AC up to 85 degrees and that will sometimes work! What!?!? I've never had a thermostat cool the room set at 85 degrees, every one is set by the desired temp you imput. Well, after a few more minutes of fiddling with the AC we finally move upstairs to another room and the AC worked better.still not very cool as we wanted but we were so tired we had enough. The next morning we head to breakfast, the employee working on the breakfast "Amanda" was a great employee, she asked us how our food was and had a smile despite working hard to bring out food to keep the shelves full and heading into the back to prep more food. Upon checking out the Manager on duty was nowhere to be seen. We rang the bell and a couple minutes later she appeared , we discussed our poor experience through the night and she was not very empathetic, nor friendly. Her breath smelled like cigarette smoke, it was hard to talk to her and keep a straight face. She prints out our bill and as we head to the car, we realize it was the wrong receipt for the wrong room. We're were gone maybe 3 minutes. We head back to the front desk and Ms. Smoker Manager is again nowhere to be seen. We ring the bell wait a few minutes, I head back to the breakfast area and ask Amanda for help, she smiles and heads to the front desk to assist. She starts to work on our info when Ms. Smoker Manager heads from the front doors (from another smoke break) and walks up to Amanda and steadily says, " I got this" poor employees who have to deal with this manager. Not very respectful to say the least. She finally prints out receipt, we get the Hotel Manager's card and we leave. We won't be staying there again, not with $175 for poor sleep/treatment.
Right by freeway We were put in a room with a broken Toilet they knew was broken and leaking urine/fees water onto the floor that is not professional at all. Very wrong and I am not happy right now with my weekend stay
Nice clean rooms and manager is nice Reserved a 2 queen room and got a room with only 1 bed. Was already 130 am when we arrived so after realizing the room only had 1 bed we were too tired to do anything about it.
Least expensive, short-notice option in Yreka. Facility & rooms are dated.
nothing the place should be close down for bussiness
We didn't like anything about the motel except the price, and even that was questionable after our experience. We were just looking for a cheap place to sleep after driving several hours and before continuing on a long drive. We made a reservation online and called to inform the property that we would be checking in very late - well after midnight. After a long day and several hours of driving, we arrived around 2am. We were exhausted and just wanted to rest and shower. The proprietor was unfriendly, complained that we were checking in late, and pointed out that checkout time was at 11. Despite the do not disturb sign on our door, the proprietor rudely knocked on our door twice the next morning, once around 9:30, and again around 10:30, asking us to leave. His explanation the first time was that "housekeeping is leaving." The second time, "it is time to check out," and "there is no late check out." We angrily pointed out to him that check out time is 11, as posted in the office, and he meekly agreed. The customer service was extremely unsatisfactory. The proprietor had no right to ask us to leave early. He didn't ask the couple next door to check out, although they were still packing as we were leaving at 10:55. The room was very dingy. The furnishings were of low quality. The bathroom was dirty: there was hair in the sink and dust everywhere. I think I got flea bites there. It wasn't worth $46.
I would highly recommend this motel to anyone looking for their money's worth. It was clean, pleasant and the manager went out of his way to make sure our room was prepared for us even though we had a very late arrival.
Brought the family and enjoyed the pool, complimentary breakfast, easy parking, and clean rooms. Will definitely stop in again if we need a hotel in the area. Complimentary cookies at checkin as well, always a nice touch. Towels for the pool are available at the front desk.
Not much, it was next door to a restaurant that was a decent chain Black Bear something. Hotel was for truckers and a quick one nighter for through traffic. It was near the top of the other options. Did have a decent breakfast, very nice staff and a little indoor pool. Pillows
Big room. Family run business. We just crashed for the night so we didn't explore much but, it seemed clean. They are in the middle of remodeling so they had different color paint squares on the wall and old furniture and appliances in the carports next to the rooms. Not a big deal to us it just didn't look very nice. I think they're about 2 miles off the freeway if you're coming from the south but, it's closer if you're coming from the north.
The young man working the front desk was very helpful. The showers were corner showers, shower heads not adjustable, so small the shower curtain stuck to your to your legs. Floors were dirty with little bits the dust mop did not pick up. Where was not an air filter in the heating cooling unit. Cooler worked.
The kids and the grandkids had lots of fun there The toilet in the bathroom had something stuck in it and we couldn't use it
Location Noisy, beds hard and in bad condition, heater too hot, holes in bedspread, stains on floor, pool full of leaves & garbage, receptionist kind of droll.
They allow pets w/o extra charge. That you have to pay extra per each 24 hrs of WIFI. Not very client friendly in 2015
The proprietor was extremely friendly and helpful, room was very comfortable and clean. This is a 3 story hotel and there is no elevator. Had a room on first floor so thankfully didn't have to haul luggage upstairs.
The pool didn't open until 10am :(
There were no towels in the room. When we told the host that we had no towels at all they sent over a wash cloth and one towel Even though there were two of us in the Motel I would never stay here again
The rooms were pretty clean. The owners are very friendly. They allow pets. The room rates are reasonable. They offer coffee in the rooms and if you need more, they provide it with a smile! New owners adjusting quickly and doing a good job. There are no trashcans in the bathroom and prior guests had put their trash under the sink cabinets which had not been cleaned out. Otherwise the rooms were clean. Although there is a coffeemaker in the room, you must ask the front desk for cups.
The price and location. Conventional shower stall (small).
Value for the money. The room included free internet, microwave oven, refrigerator, and hair dryer at no extra cost--unlike some of the major chains that nickel-and-dime you for anything beyond a bed and bath. The building is old and beat up, but kept very clean. They do need to re-do the bathrooms and plumbing: when the guy next door takes a shower, you lose most of your water pressure.
not a thing. Room was dirty and TV did not work properly. I saw the room and told them I could not stay there and that I wanted my money back. They would not give me my money back. $---- for a 5 minute stay. That is just not right. I left and got a room at Super 8 Yr
Very unclean. Only one towel per room. Dirty pillows.
The staff was friendly. I called to inform the staff that we were going to arrive pass 12am and they said it was ok. It smelled like cigarettes in a non smoking room. The heater had a funky smell coming out of it. The bed sheets smelled like cigarettes and didn't seem clean.
The price Very old. Not updated at all. Very small sink and shower. Rug was filthy.
bed made nicely and sheets looked clean!
I like being able to drive right up to the door of my room. The AC worked fine (an absolute requirement here in the summer). The shower worked well. This is not a two-star motel. It is beyond shabby. I am not bothered by a moderately shabby place but here the carpeting was nasty, the walls dingy, and the towels fraying on every edge. The WiFi worked about half the time. There were not enough outlets.
It was easy to find and welcoming. The office staff was helpful and accessible. There was no daily maid service, so if you stay more than one day, you need to make your own bed and ask for more towels.
Location and price, shower was good as well, safe location Not really... It's beds were good, shower was good, refer worked well... Safe and friendly staff
The accomodations were clean and adequate, with sufficient parking. We liked the design of the whole complex as it looks quite charming.
It was a clean room, and the front desk staff went out of his way to make us feel welcomed. We felt safe and slept well. It's a very dated motel. But it was a good value for the little money it cost.
I think the owners are wonderful people and do a good job of taking an old 1950's era hotel and keeping it clean and affordable as a way-station for I-5 travelers. It was very quiet except for the A/C. All the travelers seemed to be like us, people who generally lead quiet lives and are on their way from one place to another. The shower was excellent. When we went to check out the pool the owner appeared immediately with fresh towels. Our children were received in a very welcoming manner. Room was very small for family of 4. The double I shared with my daughter was fine but my husband thought the double he shared with our son was lumpy and hard to sleep on. August - needed to keep the A/C on to sleep, which was loud. I think the only way around this is to pay more money to a place that has central HVAC system with room thermostats rather than individual units in the rooms. That is to say, at this price point the A/C is going to be loud.
A really good value for money u spend, Specially if you are just looking for a place to sleep!!! Hotel staff was cordial. Breakfast was very very limited with just couple of Fruit cakes and couple of Cereals to eat. One jar of Orange juice and a jar of Milk and it was advertised as a free continental Breakfast.A Big Sign of SPA not working placed right at the counter, so that you dont even ask for it.
The price was good. The size of the bed was great. The staff was friendly and the internet access worked.
Great value, away from noise and close to town.
one of te best hotels in yreka every thing exelent
Location The service at the hotel was not friendly.
