A huge problem is that each of these international airports require that you go through the security check again. For that reason, connecting legs of trips through these airports should not be scheduled so close together. Heathrow is the worst, with security staff that, at best, don’t care that you have a close connection to make and just ignore your pleas to speed up the process, and at worst, are just plain rude."

In Paris, but ONLY after I located my receipt on my phone, they moved us to the seats we had paid for."

There is nothing about the experience that is actually 1st class from a separate lounge, to boarding, to in flight meals. The seats on my planes were worse than Turkish Airlines Business class (among many others). Storage around the seat is also FAR worse than other airlines products,even in business class. I had taken the same flights in November and 95-98% of the entertainment options were the same. There were, maybe, 2 new movies and 2-3 new documentaries/TV shows. The in seat charger only worked on one leg. Several meal options were "sold out." Mediocre at best."

Pros: "That was my first experience with the Airbus 380. The plane is an excellent ship and the takeoff and landing was surprisingly smooth. Flying is very stable as well. Although it has two decks you are just in one and it looks like any other long distance plane. Seats are a bit narrow but comfortable. Entertainment is individual and plenty of options. Economy cabin is divided in two sections and each section has its own lavatories."
Cons: "The boarding and disembarking operation is never-ending and of course economy class has to wait until business and first -that are considerably large- have completed their getting out. Even with two exits for the two decks it was very slow. On boarding I also noticed that several passengers boarded the wrong deck: nobody but a generic sign was telling them what gate was theirs. With 450 or 500 passengers the chance that something goes wrong increases. In our case a passenger didn't make the connexion and the luggage had to be removed. Food is just fine. Surprisingly the beverage was extremely short of options: just wine or water, no coke or sodas. Same with supper: just coffee, water or juice. The trip was long -9 hours- but no water was offered between meals."

Drinks were served almost immediately but it was close to 23:30 before a meal was served and 00:30 before this was cleared away. Lights were then dimmed but at 05:00 breakfast was served. A cottage cheese bagel was the last thing I wanted to see and when we asked for some water, we were told that there was none available. We landed at 06:25 but then had to sit on the tarmac for 15-20 minutes as there were no vacant gates for us. (This had the effect of increasing the parking fee for the driver waiting to pick us up, as he was not aware that we were sitting on the tarmac). Please note all times are New Orleans times. Hence actual time of landing was 12:25 BST. And talking of New Orleans, I would not class this as an International Airport. It is dilapidated, inefficient and lacking facilities."

Cons: "Checking into Heathrow was interesting because they have automated systems to bag drop. I always like talking to a person which I could have done but was unaware. I had printed my boarding passes which then was sent to the automated line. That being said I had an issue with my carry on it was a literally too big because of the handle sticking out. So I had to check it. One of the women there was kind and sent met back to the British Airways check in section again to check it. She said don't worry it'll be free. So I went to the assigned line and a woman stopped me and told me I needed to stand with the rest of the people in the checked baggage line not the hand baggage line. I said I was sent to this line. She said well you're going to have to pay if it is too big. I said I was sent to this line because I was told it would be free to check it. Her attitude/tone was rude. Which for me was not ok. I had just landed in Heathrow from Newark and was starting jet lag, plus I literally was able to carry on my bag at Newark. Same company! I was trying my best to be kind but she just kept insisting that I was going to pay for the bag. I then stated that I already had paid for the bag! As I had paid for 4 and only checked 3! So if necessary this would be the 4th bag. Now I would not have had to do this if British Airways had allowed me to tack on my Athens trip to my Heathrow trip. When I found out they could do that they said it would be an extra $1025 to do so. I told them that I would just go through customs and get my bags and put them on the Athens flight. Of course I get to the counter and the woman there was wonderful and told me not to worry that it would be taken care of. So thank you to the woman who diverged a ridiculous argument over the handle not fitting in the cage. Moving forward boarding was interesting as I have never ridden in a train that takes you to the plane on the tarmac. It was a little long and VERY hot as they fill them to the brim and it was a good 10 min ride with people packed like sardines. When we got to the plane boarding was quick and efficient. The seating in that plane was very much like a spirit flight for close to 4 hours. There was a lot of turbulence and the landing was a little hard but that's to be expected in planes."

Cons: "Our assigned crew member was short with customers and not to the usual friendly standard of other BA flights we have taken. The food (Veggie Lacto Ovo) was disappointing. We had no bread versus other passengers and had fruit for both desert and breakfast. A little imagination goes a long way, normally only the main is different but this experience was very underwhelming."

I was uncomfortable the entire time. this was a redeye flight, departing at midnight. the cabin lights stayed on for the first hour making it impossible to dose off. we were given a 'snack' of a disgusting chicken wrap slathered in mayo. it was inedible. oh, and accompanied by a large kitkat bar. I mean. Who came up with this combo? there were no screens, no in flight entertainment unless you wanted to run down your phone battery or rent an ipad for $10. I was truly disappointed."

Attendant was courteous and helped me, but stated that staff "doesn't do it any more" because of safety issues. No help will be given in the future. Plane left two hours late - I missed my connection. Was given a stipend for an overnight stay, but no explanation was given about the delay. Staff couldn't tell me if my checked baggage was on the plane the next morning. I probably won't fly Air Canada again."

Cons: "We basically were left without info about connecting flight! Also priority boarding for passengers with kids should be announced. It's not the job of passengers to ask. Crew could use more friendliness and being more helpful in giving directions especially in flight and for connections. The lady that checked us in was the worst. We gave her boarding passes and passport and after checking she gave them back to me in a disorganized way, I had a toddler and I had to stop and arrange my documents first. She did not even indicate where to keep the strollers. All she cared was to see d face of my toddler, in my effort to get d child up from stroller and turn her around to her, she fell and guess what, this lady did not even react! Unflinching, she just wanted to check d face of my 3 year old in case she is impersonating. That being said, some other staff were very friendly so this is not generalizing all to be same way"
Pros: "Flight was delayed from take off by ATC @ LGA for two hours, flight attendants served us with refreshments & free ear phones, meanwhile the Captain kept us completely updated on the delay"
Cons: "Tough to have a long-haul flight without functioning seat-back entertainment. Mine never worked. Asked three times about it - three times the system was "rebooted" - to no avail. I told each subsequent flight attendant that it had already been reset - they just "tried" it again. Very frustrating over the course of several hours. No one ever checked to see whether their re-set actually worked. Also, not sure why the window seats now have an arm rest on the window side of the seat - seriously interferes with passenger comfort when trying to sleep."

Cons: "Problems that were, to be sure, not entirely the airline's fault. The trip from Toronto to Austin was delayed because someone had taken the flight attendant's bag from the overhead. We had to wait until either the bag was recovered or a new flight attendant was brought in. On the return flight, the first officer had ruptured her eardrum, and the plane could not leave Austin until a new pilot was flown in from Toronto. It took hours for the airline to arrange for hotel rooms. The airline then offered vouchers when we arrived in Toronto, but their representative brought enough for only about 2/3 of the passengers."

However, the seats on this airline were so close to one another my legs were hitting the seat in front of me. I'm a thin 6' tall man, and I was uncomfortable the entire time. I've flown Air Canada many times but I've never experienced such a cramped seating experience with them. It was as if they added an extra five rows to the plane."
