Pros: "Didn’t even get to go!"
Cons: "Them giving me a refund"
Cons: "Know that everything is charged in flight and the bag at check in , been traveling the same bag all over the world and I had to check in my backpack and extra high cost"
Pros: "Crew was ok"
Cons: "There was no beverage service per se. the cart came out, but I was never offered a beverage."
Pros: "Great flight. Full but very good boarding process. Timely departure. Smooth flight and timely arrival."
Pros: "Uniforms are nice"
Cons: "All food was for sale not included. Good it was not more than a four hour flight and I happened to have kept some thai money since it was a flight out of thailand. Also, this was our connecting flight - one in the middle of three flights going back to LA. For some reason, the gate attendant decided to have issues with my wife's passport, ticket, and greencard. All were valid. We bought the tickets and were in the middle of the flight, so it was late for any questions..... Took them awhile to determine that the greencard was really none of their business since we were flying through china and into the US on another airline. Luckily we were able to get on the plane before it left. Seems like the gate agents need better training on this."
Cons: "We were running late for the flight due to long lines at immigration which was not Air Asia’s fault, but when we finally made it to the check-in counters we were misdirected several times and given conflicting information. On top of that after we finally checked in we had to go another counter to pay the baggage fee and we’re misdirected there too. After wasting 25 minutes we made the flight, but only because it was 30 minutes late."
Pros: "Plane was 1h late to take off but on time at landing"
Cons: "No power plug, no English magazine, no phone allowed (even in flight mode) for a 4 hours flight. So “entertainment” deserves 2 star only. As a couple travelling together, we were not seated together, which is very annoying (that was the case for other passengers too) even though a lot of single seats were empty in the plane (crew refused to let us swap places). That’s a 2 star for the crew. Food and beverage is pay only, and was real bad, that is the 1 star for food."
Cons: "It’s frustrating that there is ONLY the ability to pay for food/drinks on board and ONLY in cash. It’d be nice if there were at least some free drinks. During my flight to Bangkok I was so sick and needed some soda to settle my stomach. My husband and I didn’t have enough cash and were told cards were not accepted. They refused to give us anything which I thought was cold hearted as I was vomiting and very uncomfortable. Also, the policy to shut down all electronics for take off and landing is so silly. I’m an anxious flyer and I was not told on some air Asia flights to shut it off. Couldn’t understand why the same airline would force me to shut it off on my flight out of Bangkok."
Pros: "Clean plane, air conditioning"
Cons: "Bag fees; no free food, snacks or even water"
Pros: "Great flight inc snack. Friendly staff flight on time."
Cons: "I always use Kayak to book an international flight Chiang Mai to Denpasar, with my luggage checked through. But this time I went to International in Chiang Mai to check in and found that you had bungled the booking. You booked me Chaing Mai to Bangkok on a DOMESTIC flight, and expected me to get onto the next leg, International,Bangkok to Denpasar, in 2 hours. You left me only 2 hours to disembark in Bangkok, get luggage at the Domestic carousel, go through customs, take luggage to the Check In counter in the International, get boarding pass, go through customs and security. Then race to the boarding gate for my INTERNATIONAL flight to Denpasar. What a trauma. The International Air Asia check in was mobbed!! I only made it in time because staff at the check in found me by chance and put me to the front of the line. I won't use Kayak again, after using you for 15 years. You have a nerve selling such a ticket."
Pros: "Sat in takeoff queue on runway for 25 mins due to traffic. Not the airlines fault however!. Budget flight and you get what you pay for. Would happily recommend and use again."
Cons: "Squeezy legroom."
Pros: "On time, well organized, timely service."
Cons: "Seats are big congested. But pushback makes up for it."
Pros: "Temperature was too low for any reasonable comfort"
Cons: "We weren’t aware that a long haul flight would have no entertainment at all unless prebooked and paid for! No blankets or pillows for offered or complimentary hydration! We felt very uncomfortable"
Pros: "It’s worth the money."
Cons: "Small flight, no entertainment or food."
Pros: "Pleasant inflight experiences."
Cons: "Last minute gate change resulted in flight being delayed"
Pros: "Luck of information about baggage which cost me about more than the ticket and more than $100. In my point of view, all of the traveller should get laggage allowances for international. I have never experienced laggage allowances for international flights. Very very disappointed!!!"
Cons: "Luck of information about baggage which cost me about more than the ticket and more than $100. In my point of view, all of the traveller should get laggage allowances for international. I have never experienced laggage allowances for international flights. Very very disappointed!!!"
Pros: "We arrived"
Cons: "Started with booking, a package includes seats but the seats included we're all full,of i.e. need to pay more again.but100 Dollar for credit card booking? They are crazy! Check-infamily with just computers is terrible, didn't worked properly. Included food in package but can't choose, both legs the same food. Baggage damaged. Long walk in DMK to transfer, inefficient. Overall just a shitty experience!"
Cons: "Flight 502 from BKK to HKG was changed from Boarding Gate 1 to 3 in Don Muang at a time when the previous flight at Boarding Gate 3 has NOT YET started boarding. A huge crowd from BG1 flooded to BG3 when the flight to Wuhan, China has not yet started boarding. It was 15 minutes before scheduled boarding (15:55) and a long line already formed at BG1. Those in line have to move to BG3 and have to line up all over again. We waited for at least 30 mins before the Wuhan flight finished boarding at BG3. The line was ill-formed and many Chinese tourists pushed their way through disregarding the line. Air Asia should have deferred the announcement of boarding gate change for the HKG flight until the Wuhan flight has completed boarding. This was a poor handling of boarding."
Pros: "Polite crew"
Cons: "Check in at the airport was an ‘experience’. For first time travellers here make sure you go straight through security. A lot of pushing and queue jumpin so stand your ground! Flight was slightly delayed. No electronic devises could be used but hey, the flight from Bangkok is only 1hr."
Pros: "Great crew and punctuality of flight."
Cons: "Horrible check in queue and boarding without using aerobridge"
Pros: "Both outbound and return flights departed on time."
Cons: "When booking this return flight with Air Asia we had to pay for baggage. Not sure if its with Kyak or Air Asia but Having included baggage for outbound we were shocked to find it wasn’t included for the return. This cost us £147 at check in which was a shock. This hasn’t happened with Hong Kong Airlines previously. I think either your website or Air Asia’s need a block when booking return flights so you include baggage for both sectors. This would avoid the shock and excessive cost at check in."
Cons: "Boarding the flight had to be done by taking a bus to the aeroplane and taking the stairs to board the flight"
Pros: "the efficiency and friendlyness of the staff simply fantastic.the journey was very short but everything from check in to baggage collection ran so smoothly.i will want to fly with this airline many more times."
Pros: "Great service. Beautiful flight attendants."
Cons: "Seats were a bit uncomfortable Disorganized check in and boarding"
Pros: "Fairly good value (although not particularly low fare)"
Cons: "Poor leg room and slow boarding by bus. Flight was late and no updates given."
Pros: "Good price and on time."
Cons: "Very poor check in at DMK. Chaotic."
Cons: "There was only one lady checking passports for the connecting Airasia flights...so approximately 50 in line and only one lady helping all of us. When we arrived to Krabi, our checked bags were at a different terminal so we had to go to the other side of the airport to get our bags that were sent from siem reap. Waste of 40 minutes!"
Pros: "Several budget airlines make up their profits by fees. Didn't know this was such an airline going in. If you know going in you will be in a seat that doesn't allow enough leg room for your feet to sit flat on floor and a drink of water has a cost associated you may not be disappointed."
Cons: "We used flightnetwork through kayak. During purchase there was nothing saying check in bags weren't included. It's an international flight! After reading the confirmation email also saw nothing about it, only some ambiguous message about checking with the airline. THIS IS IMPORTANT! WHY WOULD YOU NOT MENTION IT AT SOME POINT. If I need to go to the airline to "check" that YOU didn't forget to tell me something then what the hell is the point of using your service?! I had to pay 144 dollars, more than a single ticket!"
Pros: "It is a good option for an affordable airline."
Cons: "There weren't tvs or complimentary food or drink. But I know this is because it is a budget airline. Also, the seats are very cramped."
Cons: "The pilot Disney inform about the duration of the flight and didn't warn about upcoming tribulations."
Cons: "Even for a reduced fare, I've never been on any other airline that even makes you pay for water. I've flown many other reduced fare lines that still offer you a beverage and a small snack, even if only peanuts or pretzels. That this flight offers no beverage or food without payment is disappointing."
Cons: "small seats & rude staff. Didn't realize it was a budget carrier, even after reading fine print couldn't find the catch. Was charged two bag fees for same flight, bag transfer fee for connecting flight, & international transfer fee."
Cons: "Long line to check in and people not polite."
Cons: "There were many additional charges for luggages. The most annoying thing for me is their seat assignments. For couples who bought tickets together, seats were assigned at different locations even though the flights were not full. This happened on all four flight segments for us. And it was not just to us. It happened to many other people on our flights. When I asked at the check-in counter at Singapore airport to change the seat assignments, the agent lied to me that there are no other seats available. In reality, there were many empty seats on all our flight segments."
Pros: "Fast boarding. On time."
Cons: "No snacks - not even cookies or nuts. No TV. Seats did not recline. But they did go out of their way to try to sell Air Asia souveniers"
Pros: "The crew was smiley and nice. Boarding went smoothly. Purchased meal was decent and not terribly pricey. Takeoff and landing was very smooth."
Cons: "Boarding started 10-15 minutes late without any apology or announcements prior. Seats were very close together from row to row. Zero leg room. The seat itself was very uncomfortable and barely reclined. I'm also not very tall (5'8) so I can only imagine for taller people. The was no inflight entertainment or wifi whatsoever."
Pros: "The line didn't take that long."
Cons: "The 7kg weight allowance is ridiculous, it's a clear ploy to grab more money for add-ons, when it should be considered below the minimum amount a reasonable one-bag traveller would bring with them. If you add a laptop, you get a free additional 3kg. Can someone please explain the logic of that? The airplane cabin was freezing cold the whole flight, colder than the older, smaller plane I took on the previous flight. If the Boeing 777 is so advanced, why is the atmosphere less comfortable? To add insult to injury, I was unable to bring adequate warm clothes for my flight to a tropical destination because of the low weight allowance. Lightweight travelers don't want to check bags because of the additional hassle and potential for lost luggage (not to mention the fees). They wear backpacks small enough to fit into the overhead compartment, but getting under the ridiculous 6kg limit means eliminating anything extraneous. 9 or 10kg is more reasonable."
Pros: "The initial price"
Cons: "We didn't even get to take this flight. My wife ended up having to have emergency surgery. I tried to get a hold of them for a week prior to our flight to get it moved back a month but there was no way to reach a representative. I'm sure there would of been a fee but with the doctors note I was hoping they could give us a little break and just reschedule the flight. Even if they charged a fee I would of been fine with that but I wasn't even able to get a hold of someone to discuss that option. I just had to eat the ticket and rebook it later at twice the price."
Pros: "The only good was landing safely"
Cons: "Air Asia is the worst! I had no idea it was a budget airline, but if low price is what you're after don't fall for the price of air Asia flights, they charge extra for a bag over the weight limit...which is 10kg lesser than competing airlines weight limits, and also any food or drink you have to pay for, and also if You are not at the front of the plane be prepared to have other choices in food or drink because they run out of the good stuff that everyone is getting, but even the good stuff is extremely poor"
Cons: "I understand cutting back on certain physical luxuries (i.e. space, water, snacks), but when you cut back on customer service is when I sever ties."
Pros: "Getting on board plane."
Cons: "There was a 40 minute delay. No information for other passengers for flight after us. So hence chaos for our flight."
Pros: "I got to the airport with my wife and when I checked our two average sized suitcases I was told it would cost an additional 6000 baht - even though I had already paid for one suitcase per ticket. The check in person was helpful but I couldn't find my proof of payment so my wife and I spent some frantic minutes pulling weight out of our bags and into our carry on finally getting the price down to 3800 baht. I've since found my proof of payment and hope that Air Asia will reimburse me but the whole exercise sucked hugely."
Pros: "On tine"
Cons: "Uncomfortable seats"
Cons: "Food and entertainment was not even present on the flight. You had to pre-purchase food to get any and none was sold on the flight, the didn't even offer a glass of water, not even for a fee."
Pros: "This is a budget airline and they get you to where you going at good price"
Cons: "They pack you in all together even though there are open seats available and leave you there as if you've done something wrong"
Cons: "fraud on the baggge fee. Had already tried to pay on web sire, but tmdid not work. Then they charge more than twice the price at airport."
Cons: "No explaining delay before take off and after arrive"
Pros: "I am grateful for small mercies. ... it was on time!"
Cons: "Not being fleeced / ripped off cheated out of money as I check in. The website purposely does not allow payment of bags just so they can get more at airport. ... Staff admitted it was regular complaints and they did not care... Not my sort of pleasurable flight.."
Pros: "The ground staff service was really poor, the air-cond on-board was warm instead of cold, when arrived Singapore, the body sweaty."
Cons: "The pre-book luggage service and check-in ground staff service in Bangkok airport. It's really disappointed."
Pros: "Professional and very accommodating crew"
Cons: "They had mosquitos entire flight, they could have sprayed bug spray or do something about it"
Pros: "Just expect , what is expected from a low cost carrier."
Pros: "I had very low expectations after reading some reviews for this airline. But I was pleasantly surprised. Staff in Bangkok was nice, paid for bags, everything went smoothly, and the plane was not dumpy at all."
Cons: "nothing, it was a short simple flight."
Cons: "The plane was COLD and no blankets to be found."
Cons: "Thai Lion delays all the times and they never try to compensate it with a bit of refreshments or anything. They took the passengers for granted"
Cons: "Thai Lion will rip you off on checked in luggage if you pay during checking in for your flight. I paid almost $300USD for one suitcase that weighed 15 kilos. When asked, they said I should have paid in advance. I expected to pay for checked in luggage, but $300 bucks is Ridiculous!!"
Cons: "The air conditioner on this flight does jot okay"
Pros: "short flight"
Cons: "the landing"
Cons: "There was a large group that seemed like a class trio with over 20 children who were loud and rude the entire flight. Parents and flight attendants did not tell them to calm down or act more polite."
Pros: "Price was great."
Cons: "Charges 300 Baht per kilogram after 7 kg. We ended up switching out all goods that had to be checked and just carried our backpacks on. Was a big hassle."
Pros: "The plane didn’t crash and we made it to our destination"
Cons: "We were squished in like sardines. My neck and back still hurt. They are sticklers about bags. No more than 7 kg (roughly 15lbs). Over all experience not so good."
Pros: "Basic no frills airline. Good baggage allowance"
Cons: "Very poor website"
Cons: "There baggage weights are ridiculous! 40 lbs for economy plus 30 lbs for economy..? Give me a break! Cost me the same amount for my baggage penalty for 5 lbs overweight as my tickets for two! Especially when they tell me to add the extra weight to my carry on... so what's the big deal? Same total baggage weight! I'll never fly with them again!"
Cons: "Flight was delayed 20 minutes. Baggage claim delayed another 30 minutes. Made me miss my connecting flight. Then also made me pay. No accommodation on their part. Terrible business."
Cons: "Very little leg room, no complimentary water or snack."
Pros: "The plane was new"
Cons: "Check-in was a disaster, boarding took for ever, getting the luggage took longer than the flight. English is unknown by ground staff. And the plane times had changed."
Cons: "No immigration documents were passed out on the flight from Singapore to BKK causing a bottleneck on arrival. Only one Thai Lion rep. processing entries and passing out docs. Very slow, jepordizing an onward connecting flight."
Pros: "It was awesome, everything was great...."
Cons: "I was in line for the flight and they closed the gate without notifying me"
Pros: "The flight was cheap."
Cons: "The seats were uncomfortable and the food was unpleasant. Also, there was an hour delay but they never announced a delay, it just happened and not one really mentioned why until right before we were actually about to take off."
Pros: "Exit row seats .."
Cons: "No food, drink or water ... no snacks either ... peanuts cost a few baht, 9 baht per bag at 7/11"
Cons: "There was the least amount of legroom I've ever seen on any other airline, my legs were digging into the seat in front of my when I was sitting perfectly upright. They also didn't serve even water."
Cons: "Extremely little leg room. Also they have sneaky charges for luggage weight. Anything over 15kg and they charge you for every extra kilogram. If you want to check in a second luggage you have to check in 4 hours ahead and you still have to pay a lot of money, and it is based on the weight of your luggage . If you don't check in 4 hours in advance and you have an extra suitcase, they charge you by the kilogram and it is ridiculously expensive. More than he cost of the entire flight! And if your flight has multiple legs, you have to pay for the extra luggage every single leg."
Pros: "Brand new planes"
Cons: "Longest check in ever, even on a Monday afternoon.. you'd better be there long ago.. problem with check in : 1- not enough queues provided, 2- check in personnel is not very efficient, 3- no queuing lines, it's messy lines, 4- operation responsible is just an observer with no operational impact"
Cons: "The flight was a pretty good flight for budget"
Pros: "Depart from Don mung airport on time"
Pros: "Seats are comfortable. The crew was nice."
Cons: "They never check passengers, if the seatbelts are on."
Pros: "1) seats 2) price 3) timing"
Cons: "1) food"
Pros: "Just a normal service. You got what you pay. But Thai loin air better than others low airlines is free load baggage 15kg and free assigned seat"
Pros: "Nice new aircraft"
Cons: "Took far too long to get off plane and what seemed like an eternity for bags to appear"
Pros: "Crew was friendly and helpful"
Cons: "The overall floght was ok with the crew pretty helpful. However coming in to land the plane swayed sideaays seemingly to be off course but probably due to wind shear. Touching down was one of the hardest I ever experienced with all passengers in shock on the force it kanded"
Pros: "Boarding process and crew are okay."
Cons: "Sat at exit row, great legroom but no reclining. Seat itself was not comfy."
Pros: "The price was right and the aircraft are new B737s."
Cons: "The snack provided was a pack of 3 oreos and some water. They had other snacks and meals available for sale."
Pros: "The low price"
Cons: "We didn't start boarding until the takeoff time."
Pros: "This is want low cost should be. Do the basics right, brand new plane, on time and impeccable crew. That's all I wanted."
Cons: "Seat pitch a bit thight but it was expected. If you're tall I'd suggest the extra charge for emergency exit."
