Pros: "Gusty winds in CID - the crew handled this quite well. Smooth flight."
Cons: "There was no UAL ground crew to greet us when we arrived on time (11PM) in Cedar Rapids. Poor communication."
Cons: "When I tried too cancel the flight. No body answered or responded too my emails. So I had too loose the 500 I spent on the flight even though I paid for the protection! I wasn’t even on the flight!"
Cons: "A lot of turbulence on this flight, often interrupting cabin service."
Pros: "No troubles or delays! Nice personnel."
Pros: "One of the crew members was excellent, kinder than most. My bag made it on the flight in spite of the delay and very tight connection."
Cons: "No plugs in regular economy class makes it hard to use the United app for entertainment."
Pros: "Same as above"
Cons: "No movie anymore."
Pros: "Having a direct flight across the country was a good thing. That was about the only positive, well that & we did land safely."
Cons: "Ticket agent said I could take my bag on the plane. Gate agent told me my bag not I were going on the plane unless I paid $50 to put the bag below if I wanted to get in the plane. Very matter of fact & rude. I was just about the last person they let board so there really wasn't a chance to discuss with them. No WiFi on a cross country plane, lame. No access to the headrest video screen w/o paying for it, lame. Snotty unconcerned flight attendants as well. Overall one of the worst flights I've had in memory. I would pay more next time to fly another airline."
Pros: "Getting back to the UK"
Cons: "When booking with Lufthansa I don't then expect to be on a united airlines flight Terrible customer service and substandard old uncomfortable aircraft"
Cons: "This flight was canceled without a reason given aside from "air traffic control" and we had to rebook on our own, and our rebooked flight got canceled as well and United has not offered any reimbursement for flight or hotel adjustments then made me pay three separate times to check one bag."
Pros: "Excellent service and a safe flight."
Pros: "It was on time and boarding was very efficient. I was seated near the back, but the middle seat was open. I appreciated the additional space. It was a nice perk for having to sit in the rear of the plane."
Pros: "The sound system had been down most of the flight. Butter cube was completed melt. Bread was cold in the center."
Cons: "Entertainment system. Rarely does an international flight not equipped with TV screen on back of chair. It's so ancient to have overhead screen"
Pros: "The crew were friendly and courteous. And the food was delicious."
Cons: "My legs hurt during the flght and I couldn't get pills for air sickness, plus a half-an-hour delay. Also, my screen didn't work properly, which needs repair."
Pros: "Friendly flight attendants"
Cons: "Terrible food. Cramped, uncomfortable seats. No in-flight entertainment, app did not work."
Cons: "We we're delayed at customs and missed our flight. We were told we were re-booked on a flight, so we ran across the airport, with two small children, to make that flight only to be told that weren't actually re-booked and needed to go standby. We then waited in line at customer service for two hours to be informed that United won't pay for a hotel. The customer service rep. did offer that if we wanted to take our kids across the airport, now at 11:30 at night, we could look for a United Supervisor in Terminal E, and if we were lucky enough to find one, they might override the policy and cover the hotel. Really! I understand that United doesn't have control over customs, but United did book an international flight with just over an hour layover, knowing that any slowdown in customs means missed flights. That's fine. The problem I have is when it happened, United's Customer Service model was to provide misinformation, incredible slow service, and what seemed like a complete lack of interest by United employees to do anything to make the situation better. There were no supervisors at the service counter, only 1 representative for an hour or so, and when the other representatives showed up, they were discussing going on break and going home. All with a very long line of people stuck in the airport waiting to get some help. I could accept this as an isolated instance, but since booking this trip, I have been getting the same level of service over the phone while trying to submit a refund request for my son who did not join us on the trip. United's 24 hour refund policy has taken 6 weeks and many hours online and on the phone and I still have no idea what the status of that request is, and apparently neither does anybody at United. The interaction I have had with your employees have been friendly and courteous, but extremely time consuming, with a lot of incorrect information and no resolution. Very mediocre at best."
Pros: "I liked that the captain communicated with the passengers about delays and the reasons for the delays over the intercom."
Cons: "I feel that I was treated by the employees at the boarding desk and by the customer service attendants as if I were garbage!!!! I was attempting to purchase an upgrade in my seating to avoid very uncomfortable swelling on my right ankle and other personal reasons. As I inquired with the man at the boarding gate about purchasing the upgrade I was told that there were none available. So I pulled out my tablet with the united airlines app and showed him the image of the empty business class seat that I would like to purchase on the seating map available in the app. He told me that he had no option on his computer screen to sell me the seat. I asked him where could I go or who could I ask to get the seat. This back and forth continued for some time where he kept saying he could not sell me the seat but I would then say, “I understand that, but do you know who can or where I can go to find someone who knows where I can buy an upgrade?” The attendant got VERY VERY upset that I was even ASKING. As if I were asking for some OUTRAGEOUS request!! I asked to speak with the manager several times. He continued by ignoring me and just saying NO! Finally he pointed to some lady beside him. I don't know if she was the manager or not, but she was on the phone and barely gave ten seconds of a glance to the situation. He asked me"Are you gonna go or not?" I could tell that he cared absolutely nothing about me or my request and was extremely dismissive in asking me this. Finally, he dismissively told me to ask the flight attendant. I could tell that this young man would be of no further help AT ALL, so I gave my ticket, went on board and thought to just try and ask a flight attendant. Right before I went to give my ticket to the man who was taking tickets, I heard the boarding gate man walk away mumbling how ANNOYING I was in Chinese. I know this because I SPEAK Chinese. This is HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL!! I continued to go on board hoping the flight attendants might actually have some information. When I asked, who I thought was the flight attendant, about purchasing a seat, it turns out that she was the customer service agent on the flight, she gave no effort to even try to hear what I was communicating to her. I know about communication and as a public speaking instructor, I know how to listen and to speak. She continued to raise her voice and talk over me, although I remained very calm and tried talking to her logically. I tried to communicate to her that I was attempting to purchase one of the empty business class seats that I had seen were empty. I checked the seating of the flight from the united airlines app before I had even boarded the plane. The lady continued to be very rude and uncaring. She talked over me, did not listen, her responses did not make sense, she very loudly kept asking me " CAN YOU UNDERSTAND THAT??" as if I was a child or as if I was confrontational when I absolutely was not. I noticed I had been trying to communicate for a while.wordlimit"
Pros: "The price was right! For a one way ticket in the summer I can't complain."
Cons: "Flight was delayed which was fine because it wasn't their fault. However, they cram waaaaay too many seats into the planes. A small turboprop has more space!"
Cons: "Flight was late Food on trip was barely average"
Cons: "Stewardesses were over worked and their arritude showed showed it. I didn't blame them ."
Cons: "Didn't like having to buy food on an international flight."
Cons: "I had flown from Honolulu to Denver arriving at 6:30 am this morning having paid $25 for a checked bag. So had to get luggage and turn right around to check-in for Denver to Cedar Rapids and pay another $25 with the same airline because I wasn't able to check all the way through! So I feel I was charged double"
Pros: "San Diego airport had a curfew of 11:30. The flight was delayed 30 minutes and the crew did a great job of boarding with a purpose to expedite the process and have us ready to take off by curfew."
Cons: "The flight was 30 minutes late in a city with a curfew so we ran the chance of not being able to take off that night."
Pros: "Flight was on time or early which is just what you want"
Cons: "Nothing to say here"
Pros: "No delay at all"
Pros: "Our learned expectations are so low it's hard to be disappointed"
Cons: "General indifference"
Pros: "Good food"
Cons: "Leg room in economy was bad for a international flight"
Pros: "Good solid trip. No issues and went smooth. Your team Was good both ways."
Pros: "I don't like the small planes United uses."
Pros: "Very good!"
Cons: "Overall horrible experience round trip. Issues with the planes caused delays leaving and caused my flight home to be cancelled. Flew American home. Will never fly Intied again. EVER!"
Cons: "Same as above haven't even made it home yet. I recommend kayak not work with united unless u want to lose business."
Pros: "The crew was very attentive and the service was above and beyond. Boarding was timely. The entertainment choices were top notch and as it was an overnight flight, the care taken to be respectful of sleeping passengers was great."
Cons: "I am young but I am in heart failure and have an artificial heart. I had requested wheelchair service so I didn't overexert myself at the airport and was wheeled right up to the gate. There were two other older passengers in wheelchairs, one on either side of me. When it came time to pre-board flight attendants came up to both men and helped them on board. They ignored me. Then they announced regular boarding. I had to remove my bags from my lap and get up out of the chair and go to the gate to say I needed to preboard. The man looked annoyd and said they had announced it. When I explained how no one came to me but they did the others he said I could go now. I said I needed help with my bags and he acted VERY surly and put out. He did help me but I felt like they assumed because I was young I couldn't possibly be sick and treated me like a liar."
Pros: "Everything was great we just had to sit for mechanical issues. Announcing ETAs is crucial for those of us getting picked up"
Pros: "Flight departed An hour late but caught up time on route. service was cold, rude and lazy. Many passenger brought food trash tray to the station by themselves. Bathroom was gross. Food was salty and I requested water and I was ignored. I finally raised my voice and start asking their names because I would write a complain. Tha started all hassle for me. Long story short, I was demanded to identify if I held Chinese or US passport... I have written a letter to United CEO. I got reply that I would get a reply in 24-48 hours. I'm waiting. My second leg was two hours delay from Chicago to Boston."
Cons: "those FA should be fired, especially the one who demanded to identify my nationality."
Pros: "The flight attendant was really Nice"
Cons: "The agent at the gate were not helpful, we somehow got seats at opposite ends of the plane. Rowm17 and row 40."
Cons: "The crew members were not very happy and were snappy in their replies. The seating is ridiculously small, you cannot access the carry one baggage under the seat if the person in front of you puts their seat back. The food was better this time than the flight to Beijing, still not great. I also need to add that the original flight from Chicago to Beijing had a 7 hour delay which was ridiculous, especially when traveling so far. No food vouchers were offered and passengers were kept in the dark for long periods of time. The return flight was also slightly delayed. This is not a good reputation for an airlines to have. United will not be my first choice of airlines in the future."
Pros: "Crew were very professional"
Cons: "The wait to get to the gate was hard. After a 3 hour flight we had no gate as another plane took our assigned gate then another gate had a broken gangway so we had to use "air stairs" to depart"
Pros: "very nice flight attendant. Very helpful to have my son and I sit together. Gave me a cup of coffee when i asked. very friendly as well."
Cons: "I need my suitcase asap. There are lots of important stuff inside."
Pros: "Just noticed survey on my flight from Omaha to Chicago. Sadly I woke up to find that that flight was cancelled and I had to reschedule and flown to Denver instead."
Cons: "The stewardess wasn't the least bit helpful. I did not see any friendliness on her part to anyway. It was like she had to do the job but didn't like being there. So very weird. My original flight to Milwaukee with stop in Chicago was cancelled. This was a flight that took me to Denver and then Milwaukee. Therefore cold for over two hours. Not a good experience with United."
Pros: "They were on time."
Cons: "The cabin temperature never went below 80 degrees. Seats were very, very small. Especially when seated by a 300 lb person"
Pros: "Excellent all the way!"
Cons: "It took about 30 minutes to get luggage in Atlanta"
