Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "The crew did a great job and I enjoyed the movies."
Pros: "Crew was very nice, professional."
Pros: "On a quick 40 minute flight they still managed riu server coffee, water and snacks."
Pros: "When i asked for a window seat at the gate, i was provided one in the comfort zone. Very impressed and pleased. However, the remaining two segments were the opposite. Staff at the gate did not assist in any way for the remaining two flights."
Cons: "The flight from Bend to Seattle was delayed a couple times and caused us to arrive when our connecting flight was already boarding. Luckily we were able to make the main flight on the trip."
Pros: "Great entertainment."
Cons: "Turbulence was high so good/drink service was less than normal. No fault of delta or their crew but the JFK airport was awful, especially through customs. No help from the employees and easy to get lost."
Cons: "The website could work for starters"
Pros: "New plane, friendly crew."
Cons: "Departure time"
Pros: "Safe and fast journey."
Cons: "Vegan Options for snacks"
Cons: "Cramped seats, no a/c on tarmac for extended period because of technical issue, ancient entertainment system. Old plane with minimal overhead bin space, delayed flight"
Pros: "The crew was great and very friendly."
Cons: "Never enough room and the food was okay. But what’s new about this when it comes to air travel?"
Pros: "The flight attendees were nice and attentive. The entertainment was great."
Cons: "The boarding crew was less than pleasant and had an attitude. They changed my assigned seat and when I asked why, they rushed me to board offering no explanation except “your seat is no longer available”."
Pros: "The check in counter personnel was VERY UNHELPFUL. I was running late to previous Delta flight baggage delay. The counter person would not let me check in even though I still had good 45 mins before take off. AND THE PLANE WAS DELAYED BY 40 MINUTES ANYWAY! I never made the flight, had to take train."
Cons: "The entire Delta customer service was a nightmare. Delayed flights, literally lying supervisor who escalated a dispute, absurdly poor service. ASSISTING A PASSENGER WITH A TRANSFER TO ANOTHER DELTA FLIGHT AFTER THE FIRST ONE WAS DELAYED IS "NOT A GUARANTEED SERVICE". Seriously, it is basic courtesy!"
Cons: "It made no sense to board an hour and a half before takeoff."
Pros: "Crew was friendly, capt. had smooth take off and landing."
Cons: "Late gate change threw me for a loop. Had dinner with some friends in terminal before they caught a different flight. Walked to my gate only to find flight had changed to a different terminal and gate. Ended up fine because there was a delay with the lane switch, but made me a little anxious."
Cons: "Took off late. Other than that very comfortable and great experience"
Cons: "Nothing, keep at it"
Pros: "The efficiency of having my boarding pass on my phone (Apple Wallet). The Kayak and Delta apps streamlined perfectly and I was able to check in and pay for luggage through Kayak! I just need to do better at checking my phone due to both apps sending me updates about flight delays and luggage locations"
Cons: "Lack of space from being confined to the middle seat but the passengers next to me were nice and the plane ride was over before I realized it."
Pros: "The smooth flight, the informational touches the pilot and gate attendants gave to the people"
Cons: "Late flight attendants"
Pros: "Total Experience of Flying on this Airline ."
Cons: "No Comment."
Cons: "We were on the tarmac for almost 2 hours. It's probably LaGuardia but the experience was very bad."
Pros: "drink carts came around twice"
Cons: "Even though there were sunchips available, they were not giving them out to everyone. Only the people that paid up in coach got the sun chips. The rest of us got these sad bag of pretzels and cheesey snacks. So sad. Why wouldn't Delta offer the same snacks to everyone? Seems like such a small additional cost compared to such an offensive action. The money you save is certainly lost in bad publicity."
Pros: "Everything was perfect !! Staff friendly"
Pros: "They went out of their way provide flight and status updates. Had to gate changes in Atlanta but they kept everybody informed."
Cons: "The gate changes in Atlanta, of course. Two gate changes?"
Cons: "The most horrible experience. Pathetic to say the least. No water in the flight lavotries. Such a pathetic service from so called top airline."
Pros: "Great flight attendant great people"
Pros: "Good selection of free, in-flight entertainment."
Cons: "Our flight was delayed on the runway, but that wasn't the airlines fault."
Pros: "Since I am a Silver Medallion Skymiles member, I asked about an upgrade. All seats in First Class were taken, but the agent at the gate seated me in a seat in the front of coach with more legroom (comfort plus? I don't know what they call it). That was great!"
Pros: "Very nice, comfortable plane, everything went smoothly in spite of our little airport being overrun with eclipse tourists."
Cons: "We paid extra to be able to pick our seat ahead of time but when we got there we were told that in the first leg of our trip the flight was oversold and therefore we didn't have seat assignments anymore. The delta folks blamed Kayak. We did get seat together, but not the ones I had previously chosen. Also there was no beverage service on this flight."
Pros: "I liked that Delta gave me quick alternative flights and was able to switch at no charge to another flight using their app. I was traveling with my 12 year son and they were accommodating in seating us together."
Cons: "The hassle and the fact that we had to run to catch the new flight."
Pros: "The flight was very on-time and it reached the destination even earlier than expected."
Pros: "The plane was not very full and I was selected to move be from row 30 to row 16. All seats in that row were empty. That was very nice."
Pros: "Got lucky, and got an upgrade!"
Cons: "Good staff on the plane very sweet like. Actually arrived early. Thought we would get breakfast on the flight from Madison Wisconsin to New York City."
Cons: "Delta didnt wrap car seat in plastic while it was raining so it was soaked"
Pros: "Nothing about it was good. They made us Americans feel so unwanted."
Cons: "The staff was rude"
Pros: "The plan had Wi-Fi and free movies. Plugs for the phones"
Pros: "Chicken kale salad was inedible. I did not know chicken had gristle!"
Pros: "Great service"
Pros: "The flight was good, but the flight attendants were friendly and fun making it better than usual."
Cons: "Very obese lady in middle seat, 30 D who took more than half of my seat. Not sure how you can correct for that, but made my trip terribly agonizing."
Pros: "Very professional and caring."
Pros: "Movie selection"
Pros: "The plane was surprisingly comfortable. The seats had USB ports. The touch screens were clear and responsive. Most importantly, the service of the flight attendants was excellent. I was quite happy."
Cons: "Delta Flight #1494 On my return flight, I had to pay for a 2nd ticket to fly out early since Delta was cancelling flights to the south and I didn’t want to get stuck in Philadelphia. When the plane arrived for a layover in Atlanta, there was a flight going on from the first 2 people waiting to deplane. In my distraction and fear, I left my water bottle next to my seat. When I realized that I had left it, I went back to the gate and told the gate attendant that my bottle was next to my seat. She would not call down to the plane, nor walk down, and told me I had to wait until the entire flight had boarded. I explained that my connecting flight was boarding across the airport. The bottle was expensive and had great sentimental value. A couple times, I tried to ask people boarding the flight if they would tell a flight attendant to retrieve my bottle. The gate attendant told the boarding passenger to ignore me. When the flight had completely boarded, the gate attendant went down to the plane only to return to me to tell me that the flight attendant(s) allowed the cleaning crew to take the bottle. The gate attendant called the cleaning service and then she told me that the bottle was waiting at the tower and that I could ask at my next gate to have the bottle delivered to that gate. Since my connecting flight had already started boarding I had to run/train it across the airport to arrive at the gate. When I told the 2nd gate attendant, the story and asked him to call the tower to get my bottle, he told me that “wasn’t a thing” and that the 1st gate attendant lied to me. I had to board since they were getting ready to close the plane. This incident was compounded to many unpleasant experiences I’ve had with Delta over the past few years (losing my luggage and lying about it, damaging my suitcase, etc., etc.). I don’t understand how you can continue to be successful as an airline when you run your operation the way Delta does."
Cons: "Expected a two hour layover, but due to delay I ended up waiting more that 14 hours at the terminal."
Pros: "Our flight was cancelled and we had to buy $447 worth of Southwest tickets to get home. Our luggage is still missing, by the way."
Pros: "Flight left on time despite the problems"
Cons: "We waited for one hour to be able to board. The system crashed so we were very lucky to arrive very early to the airport"
Pros: "Always have great experience with Delta flight attendants and staff. The entertainment on mobile phone was a really nice add-on, I had never seen before."
Cons: "Flight was delayed in taking off, waiting for connecting passengers. Plane was old, which is most Delta planes, but this one showed it. The tray table looked like it was from the 70s or 80s. Flying into Midway instead of O'hare was anticlimactic."
Cons: "I'm just glad that we got to the airport 2 1/2 hours early because we needed it. We had to check a dog so we had to go through the special needs line, they had 2 out of 20 of ticket lines open. My wife also needs a wheelchair and after 45 minutes of standing in line, I spoke to one of the idiots that are supposed to be there to help and he went and got a wheelchair which I had to push my wife in the wheelchair through the zig zag line with 2 large suit cases and a dog. It took us an hour and a half to get tickets and then they called for someone to push the wheelchair and we where told to wait for them there. We waited for 10 minutes for someone to come but no one came so I started pushing her towards the Sercurity check line and finally someone came to push her and he stayed on his phone the entire time. When my wife got to the point where she needed to walk through the metal detector she was having a little trouble getting out of the chair so they told her to just stay in the chair and they would push her through in the wheelchair. When she got through, they almost strip searched her and patted her down like she was a criminal. That took another 25 minutes!!! They the guy pushed her to our gate and insisted on taking the chair back with him, so 5 minutes later they asked if it was anyone who needed assistance getting on the plane. I went up and told them that my wife needed a chair to get on the plane so they had to call and get another chair which took another 10 minutes and finally we got on the plane. It took us 2 hours and 15 minutes to get a ticket and go through Sercurity!!!! Very very very unprofessional!!!"
