Daily cleaning, installation of cabin HEPA filters on flights from Boston to Afghanistan
Afghanistan has restarted international flights. However, all routine immigrant and non-immigrant visa processing are suspended.
Point-of-entry screening has been introduced. Not everyone is being screened, but those who are and who show a temperature of more than 38ºC may be sent for isolation direct to one of 2 national hospitals (Kabul Infectious Disease and Afghan-Japan Communicable Disease Hospital in Kabul) or 5 provincial hospitals. These hospitals are outside of the Enhanced Security Zone.

Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "The crew is always great."
Cons: "They can’t really do anything about this, but babies screaming all around me made the flight pretty terrible. Infants shouldn’t be flying. My god"
Cons: "I am an Emirates skywards member and I was placed in the middle seat when my preference on Emirates and Kayak is an aisle seat. After boarding it was explained to me that I couldn’t move to an aisle seat even though more than one seat was available. I asked to pay or to use miles I have accrued."
Pros: "A perfectly ordinary Emirates flight: good food and entertainment."
Cons: "The Kabul route often has less experienced travelers. So passengers couldn't figure out their seat belts, couldn't lock the toilets, stood up while the plane was still on the runway, pushed and shoved to try to get off the plane first, etc."
Pros: "First time we flew on business on international (we upgraded)."
Cons: "I haven’t received my bag yet. It’s been 4 days"
Pros: "Good flight"
Cons: "Crew was not very friendly. Had argument with a old man in the next row over serving glass of water"
Pros: "Staff helpful and courteous under difficult conditions."
Cons: "People were allowed wheel chairs without a doctor'snote. 59 wheel chairs passengers is ridiculous. Make it a requirement wheel chair assistance required a doctor's note. And check hand luggage weight. Many bags excceeded the limit."
Pros: "The pre-boarding, courtesy extended, everything was good. No complaints."
Cons: "The long hop because of my age"
Cons: "I like everything"
Pros: "Professionalism of flight crew. Movie & entertainment selection. Overall cleanliness of aircraft."
Cons: "Ground crew was not well organized. Lacked attention and professionalism. Bad way to start a flight."
Pros: "Really exceptional service! Very impressed!"
Cons: "Request to allot passage seat on 30th Nov"
Pros: "I recently booked a flight on Qatar first, to Ko Samui, Thailand. When I got on the plane, I asked the flight attendant to please be careful when he pushed the cart down the aisle because the last time I flew, the flight attendant smashed the cart into my elbow and drew blood. The flight attendant laughed at me, so I told him, calmly, that if it happened again, I would sue the airline. He didn't like that, and so for the next ten minutes he sent three different flight attendants over to ask me crazy questions like, "Do you have anything you would like to tell us?" I have no idea what this was about. Eventually, I was told to get off the plane, which ended up costing me over $1,500 in transportation, hotel, and new flight (on Emirates) fees. It was and still is a nightmare because my vacation has been ruined due to having no money. I'm a master's-degree-holding English teacher of 11 years with no history of ever having been asked to get off of a plane for any reason, and no, I was not drunk because while waiting for my luggage to be returned, had a conversation with three Boston airport police officers who did not arrest me or even understand why I had been kicked off of my flight. Nor did I speak a single profane word to the Qatar flight attendants or security, and of course, I did not use violence or resist when I was told to get off the plane. Unlike Qatar's staff, the Boston police officers were very polite and understanding. Emirates, on the other hand, was a completely different story. They were great. The staff was friendly, and when I was sleeping, they didn't send their staff over to harass me. I have flown on Emirates, Qatar, and Ethihad many times, and I truly don't understand why Qatar's staff have been instructed by their managers that it is okay to lose long-time customers and kick professional teachers off of their planes just because they think I wasn't perfectly sweet and nice to them all the time. I am an American, and in my country we have freedom of expression and speech, as long as that speech does not indicate violent intentions or use profanity or insults. Basically, I felt as though I was in a country with no rights to free speech at all. Presently I am having my lawyer work up legal documents for Qatar to get my money back and to reimburse me for travel and hotel expenses, as well as having to take two extra days off of work to reschedule my flight. I truly believe in the transparency of the travel industry through using comments like those I am making you readers aware of right now, and I assume you will benefit from this rhetorical question/advice: Emirates and Ethihad are sometimes a little more expensive than Qatar on certain flights, but is it really worth it to risk having Qatar take your money and make you miss your flight for no reason? Is it acceptable for an airline operating in the USA to deprive Americans of their right to express concern to the flight attendants on their plane?"
Pros: "The service provided by the crew is top notch. No one goes hungry on Emirates."
Cons: "The seat pitch is getting tight."
Pros: "I enjoyed everything about Emirates. No complaints. Nice plane and stewardess."
Cons: "That no accommodations were made nor provided"
Pros: "The seat was comfortable."
Cons: "I wasn't offered any refreshments upon boarding and had to locate an attendant just to receive service. Although I normally order the low cholesterol meal I asked the attendant to provide with its contents before serving so that I could decide whether to choose from the menu. Twenty minutes later the low cholesterol plate was served and not once was I offered the opportunity to make a selection of my own choosing."
Pros: "Great service"
Pros: "the flight was on time"
Pros: "The staff near Baggage check-in area are always rude with the customers, it also happened to us in the past."
Cons: "Very very poor customer service"
Cons: "One of the flight attendants was extremely rude. She passed over me several times like I wasn't sitting in the most uncomfortable seat. In the middle. She didn't want to give me water, I had to ask if I could have some water. TSA held me up, I almost missed my flight had to be rushed on and no place to put my things so I had to sit squashed in the middle seat with all my bags for a 12 hour flight. I won't EVER go through Boston AGAIN. I won't ever chose Emirates for that long flight again, if I can help it. The WORST!!"
Cons: "Did not get wheelchair assistance for my dad as requested."
Pros: "Food was good"
Cons: "Boarding is complicated . They didn't allow cabin baggage and laptop bag together. Only 1 is allowed"
Pros: "Everyone was very friendly. And, the amenities offered are superb."
Cons: "Nothing everything is good"
Pros: "All flight attendants dressed and acted in a VERY professional manner. Always polite and helpful. Lots of smiles. Loved the eye mask, ear plugs, socks and toothbrush. Food was much better than most flights on other airlines."
Cons: "On such a long flight I wish my seat would have gone back just a little more. Might have been easier to sleep. Would have liked to have a newer selection of movies."
Pros: "Value for money. Courteous, efficient, and pragmatic. Recycled blankets and headphones."
Cons: "Bathroom door broken I was locked inside for several minutes"
Pros: "Crew were very nice"
Cons: "Seat cushions are horrible There is no padding. 'All the chairs dirty too. Decor was very old"
Pros: "Crew went out of their way to be friendly"
Pros: "The amenities in Business Class were excellent - the seat was luxurious and you could actually catch some sleep. The food was gourmet and the staff was very attentive. They made a small mistake and forgot to serve me dessert but the mistake was remedied immediately when I informed them of the slip up."
Cons: "I paid a LOT of money for a Business Class seat and yet I was never notified that my flight was going to be delayed in departing by 12+ hours until after I arrived at the airport. According the the flight crew, they were notified at 9am that morning and the airline had my phone number and email, yet I arrived at the airport at 8pm because I was never notified! I spent $50 to take a taxi to the airport and now I had a 10am departure the following morning! I was given no compensation for this massive issue. Just "sorry, come back tomorrow!" I was very upset! My choices were either take ANOTHER $50 taxi home that night and then another $50 taxi back in the morning or get a $150 hotel room at the airport. So glad I paid THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS for my Business Class seat (a big spend for me as I've never flown Business Class before but felt like a special treat for a special occasion). WTF, Emirates!"
Pros: "The selection of tv shows and movies was excellent. Very diverse. The crew were also very responsive to anything we asked (water, questions, etc...) They gave me good advice regarding my connecting flight."
Cons: "The plane was an older model, so the touch screen was a bit unresponsive. Our tvs were shut off for the first two hours because of a glitch."
Pros: "not so many people in my flight, the crew were so nice and very helpful."
Cons: "first meal was bad,I requested low fat meal and they gave me the beef something which was meh!"
Pros: "Lovely online and phone customer service reps. Comfy flight with good entertainment (tv)."
Cons: "My baggage (x3) was delayed 3 days, which was frustrating to say the least. I received no apology email or flight discount/refund/coupon, etc."
Pros: "Free movies!!! Blanket and pillow provided. Also the crew was very attentive."
Cons: "Switching of terminals to Fly Dubai"
Cons: "Had a tough time to get a replacement ticket."
Cons: "Despite ordering a vegetarian Oriental meal, I was given a meat dish in my meal!"
Pros: "Lots of food"
Pros: "There were a lot of different movies to watch. Also, the food was real good."
Pros: "This is my third time flying with Emirates and I can not say enough positive things. I only wish my husband was able to fly with them."
Cons: "No organization, had trouble in check in. On Boston airport we had to do passport check there was a long queue. Nobody was answering any questions. I think direct flights from Emirates are outstanding but the code share with Jet Blue did not work for me. For food there was Hindu meal option which did not specify veg or non veg we were served lamb but FYI Hindu meal means no beef and could be veg or non veg which does not make sense. Emirates should clarify that. So we ate nothing on our flight to Dubai."
Pros: "My flight was very comfortable, and the staff was very attentive."
Cons: "I was not able to choose my seat for this flight"
Pros: "The baggage allowance, excess baggage rules are some of the most generous rules. The service of the people on board is great I general and the aircrafts are impeccable."
Cons: "The first leg of Hyderabad to Dubai was about 3.5 hours. The airhostesses must have been tired from another long haul prior to the HYD-DBX leg. A couple of them were a little less than charming to some of the passengers. Many of the people from Indian subcontinent don't use the magic words - thank you and please. So, it could come out likes bit rude but a curt answer in stead of yelling would have sufficed. My flight was from EWR to HYD with stopovers at BOS and DBX. A long wait at Dubai can be understood and expected. But a 7 hour layover at Boston was a killer. If Emirates tied up with any other carrier other than jet blue, this could have been avoided. Even otherwise, after a 20+ hour journey, another 7+ hour waiting was a killer. Please change it to make the journey shorter"
Pros: "Entertainment and food"
Pros: "Great food. Decent comfort but only because the plane was pretty empty. Crew was great but they kept disappearing. People need to sleep, sure, but I felt a little abandoned at times. Good selection for movies and tv."
Cons: "Boston Logan airport was a mess. There were at least 15 people working at the gate, fooling around. Meanwhile we were all sitting there waiting and waiting and waiting to board. It was a bit rude."
Pros: "Very attentive, patient, helpful and friendly on-board crew Food was good In-flight entertainment options"
Cons: "understaffed counter at the gate. People waited in line for as long as 45 minutes for passport check Audio quality of airline provided headsets was poor. Some would not work. Others did not play audio on both left and right sides"
Pros: "Food was delicious. Lots of free movies. There was even a ton of entertainment options I didn't try, so I am sure there is something for everyone."
Cons: "The headphones jack required the two prong kind, which I did not have. But they provide headphones free, so it wasn't that big of a deal."
Pros: "Probably the most serene and comfortable public transportation experience I've ever had. And have had a lot of really miserable experiences traveling so this really stood out. The variety of entertainment options, the free alcohol, pleasant staff, clean bathroom, plus no one was sitting next to me which was really awesome, although I suppose not really Emirate's doing. A+++++ will most definitely take Emirates again"
Pros: "Not applicable"
Cons: "I was not permitted to check in and board because the ticket agent had incorrect information and refused to listen to my written proof of her incorrect decision."
Cons: "Was perfect"
Pros: "Baggage policy and amenities on board as well as the Istanbul airport as a connector."
Pros: "Crew was not very frindly and the Turkish airlines staff at Istanbul are not at all friendly and so rude. I will never recommend Turkish airlines to anyone."
Cons: "Too tight seatings"
Pros: "flights on time. special meals I ordered were provided."
Cons: "very long check-in line. took over 1hr to check in. tried to check-in online in advance, but system did not allow me to do this."
Pros: "Punctuality. I also had an upgrade which was super great!"
Cons: "More choices of movies would be great for long hauls"
Cons: "Food- improve the menu, with veggie pasta, there was chicken on the side. For breakfast only on option- scrambled eggs. Not much for vegetarians. Also my flight Istanbul to mumbai, the table on which you keep the food was not aligned, the food tray kept sliding down."
Cons: "Passengers were throwing up and the crew did not pass through the cabin to provide any sickness bags. I had to swap my first row seat to the last row as a passenger next to me had thrown up which had caused the entire seat to be dirty."
Cons: "No usb chargers on plane"
Pros: "Friendly crew, boarding on time, leaving and arriving on time, well maintained planes, clean."
Cons: "The seats were so close to each-other that you can't even get in or out without a big effort. I am not a large person, but I am pretty tall. Fro someone over 6 feet tall, the seats are like a torture chamber."
Pros: "Turkish Airlines offers an experience much better than your average two-hour plane hop in the U.S. There was a full meal served, staff were kind and didn’t try to sell a bunch of extra stuff to you, and there were many choices for in-flight entertainment."
Cons: "Unfortunately, the children on the plane were really poorly behaved and loud. In addition, the flight was delayed by 1 full hour and when we arrived in Vienna our luggage (and the luggage of many other passengers) had not been sent with us. We waited in line for luggage for 30 minutes, then another line for at least 30 more minutes to report the missing bag, and we were then told that it wouldn’t arrive for another day and would be delivered to us within a 3 hour window in the middle of the day. This was essentially an entire night and day lost to a mishap that the airline didn’t even notify us of when we landed. Pretty frustrating."
Pros: "The crew are very friendly and in general and the flight was very nice"
Cons: "Need to have a bigger seats"
Pros: "All was great, until..."
Cons: "... the person in front of me reclined their seat. That was the end of my comfort. I’m 5.11”- 1.80cm. Couldn’t watch tv, had trouble eating."
Pros: "The flight was slightly comfortable, there were more food and snacks options than in other aircraft companies."
Cons: "Some of the crew were very rude, making a point to show you that they were hassled by serving you. I thought that was poor service. The seats weren't all working so while the passenger in front of me reclined, my seat wouldn't making for a very uncomfortable flight. I thought the entire aircraft needed either renovation or retirement altogether. Old TVs and non-functioning seats, all made me kind scared of where I was tbh."
Pros: "Will never buy ticket with you"
Cons: "Bad service and flight"
Cons: "On the registration checking in in Boston Logan Airport they did not tell me that I as an american citizen must have a visa. After arriving to Turkey they refused me to get in and sent me back to the states. I want refund all my expenses on this trip."
Pros: "Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. They fed us and gave us blankets and pillows and slippers. They were lots of movie and tv choices. It was a very pleasant experience."
Pros: "Turkish Airlins is so wonderful, and I really appreciate being treated like a human being at IST (unlike Schipol, De Gaulle, other airports to connect at around Europe)."
Pros: "I bought a ticket for three persons: my wife, my daughtet and me. I am Nigerian, my daughter American, and my wife's Turkish. However, because of the diplomatic row between Turkey and the U.S., my daughter was refused entry into Turkey. Turkish airlines' policy was to refund the ticket of any American caught in this row. They said they will refund my one month old daughter's ticket. However, my wife and i will not receive a refund. We bought the three tickets together. Our ticket numbers ended in 235...51, 235...52, and 235...53. However, they will not refund our whole money by cancelling the ticket but only that of my daughter. So this is the question: Does Turkish airline want me to leave my one-month old baby in the U.S. and tavel with my wife to Turkey? What kind of parents will we be if we were to abandon our daughter to take a trip to Turkey. Even, the people in Turkish airlines will judge us evil parents, yet that was exactly the only option they gave us. Lose your daughter or lose your ticket money. They will not even just change our iternary or give us another destination we suggested without penalties which are almost 3/4 of our initial ticket price. They just made away with our money. You cannot say, 'We are cancelling tickets for American citizens' but make no exception for parents of infant citizens. This is the height of criminality. So, me and my family couldn't take the flight and lost $1500. We had to buy another ticket by airfloat to get to Georgia. But Turkish airlines refused to even contact us on the refund for my daughter. A truly criminal enterprise."
Cons: "They had a vague refund policy for Americans, forgetting that American infants can also have none-American parents who are as much victims in this as the American infant. For them to be myopic and keep repeating talking points of their refund policy is unfortunate to say the least."
Pros: "Boarding was smooth. Staff friendly. Great selection of movies."

Pros: "Great choice of entertainment, food relatively good for plane food."
Cons: "Crew was fine but not as friendly or cheerful as I'm used to flight attendants being. The leg room was pretty poor on this particular plane, there wasn't even space to put a small bag under the seat in front of me."
Pros: "Crew members were nice People were good at check in as well"

Cons: "Nothing i didn't like. It was grat flight"
Pros: "I was nervous to fly Turkish Airlines; however, the crew was professional and the experience was very positive. I felt safe and well cared for."

Cons: "It was red eye, and the light in the cabin did not turn off for a long time."
Pros: "The Air hostess are aware of what they are doing, they can manage extra requests from different people."
Cons: "The workers at the boarding they don't have good language to new people they think every one should know every thing about Turkish schedule and other information, It is a little bit strange to have no where to sit at Instambul Airport while having wheel chairs for sick people after bringing them at the waiting place where do you think they will be sitting."
Pros: "Loved the seating space"
Cons: "I was traveling with my sister and the lady's who gave us our boarding pass had trouble with our tickets and sat us separate."
Cons: "Delayed a couple hours."
Pros: "I like the accessories that came with coach... was not quite expecting that."
Cons: "There was a male flight attendant that was soo nice. Made me feel more comfortable."
Cons: "Yolculuk genel anlamda iyiydi fakat bagajim kayboldu. Thy gibi bir kurumda bagaj kaybolmasini anlayamiyorum. Tum guvenimi kaybettim."
Pros: "The price and timings"
Cons: "Cabin crew not accommodating as would not hang my coat which I never had any problem traveling internationally. Toilets very small and smelly. Toilet pack was good as they included slippers."
