This was first flight of the day and it was delayed they indicated because they did not have the equipment to start the engines. How does that happen. This caused a 50 minute delay. Also no information was provided by the ground team before boarding which went into instant accelerated mode as groups 1-6 almost at the same time. It was chaotic.

The seating is so tight, I could barely move my legs when the seat in front of me was reclined (and I am tiny!) I landed after my connecting flight was already boarded, causing an employee from the airline to announce my name over the intercom on the plane and tell the passengers to "clear a lane for me." I ran with my suitcase over my head, bumping into people and making it to my next gate...where I was told there was ABSOLUTELY NO ROOM for my carry on...which was also, very tiny. I specifically did not want to check my bag because I needed to immediately hop off the plane to make it to work on time. Another customer was VERY upset about having to check his bag and was pulled aside. I finally was told I needed to check my bag at the gate to get on. So i did. As I entered the plane, about half of it was COMPLETELY empty with PLENTY of room. I was floored. About 10 minutes later, the very angry man happily entered with his carry on and stored it easily in the overhead bin. My frustration was at a peak. But I said nothing. When I arrived to Newark, I rushed to baggage claim and guess what? After 30 minutes of waiting, my bag never showed up. I had to check in with information and finally found it. But this caused to me to be late for work. I have usually had a great experience with United. But this experience has changed my mind completely and am very upset."

Cons: "The plane was a small plane and we had to disembark on the tarmac. There were two attendants with wheelchairs but they didn't have my name so I walked on. The flight attendant called to me and said to wait. One of the attendants came up with a wheelchair and said he would take me. Unfortunately, a steep ramp had to be used to get into the airport building. He asked another worker to help him and all the way up the ramp I had to listen to comments about "good thing they had eaten their Wheaties" and "they were getting a good workout." I know that I am not a small person, but these ongoing comments were rude and insulting. When we got into the gate the attendant told me that he didn't have my name on his list and had to call for permission to take me through the airport. I waited and he came back and said he couldn't take me, but if I could wait someone else could come for me. I had waited enough already and suffered their rude comments, so I said no thanks and walked slowly through the airport. This experience has left me with a bad feeling for the airline and its personnel. I believe their staff could use sensitivity training at the very least!"

One for us and one for something else. However, the staff was rude and there was no signage indicating which was which. Then the baggage claim lady charged me $59 extra for my bag but then said that if I had had my friends check the bag I wouldn't have had to pay the fee. Of course then it was too late. Then the flight was delayed because the bad overbooked it. Finally at Boston our bags took forever to arrive and when they did the were soaking wet. I understand that Spirit is meant to be the economical carrier but that is no excuse for rude and incompetent staff. I heard SOO many people say they would never fly Spirit again. Get it together Spirit!"

With this flight being the last flight out of Oakland for the evening (not just of Spirit, but of any airline), those people were really screwed. So even after our flight was delayed, we ended up sitting on the tarmac at our gate for another half an hour after we were boarded and the doors were closed. The plane was full, the air was hot and stanky, and there was no air circulation. Add to that their thin crappy seats that had to be designed by Josef Mengele, and the cabin crew who were more interested in selling us snacks and Spirit Air credit cards than our comfort... Lesson learned. Stay away from Spirit Air. Never again."
