I arrived at the gate a couple of minutes after it was closed. THANKFULLY the gate agent came back (he was on the plane) and issued my seat ticket (it had been upgraded) and led me to the plane. So, didn't miss my flight, AND had a seat upgrade."

Having to give up my water before getting on the plane for a 6 hour flight makes ZERO sense. I hope this requirement is due to some stupid TSA/USA regulation and not Copa. If its the latter, please re-evaluate this."

The attendant at the counter told me there was nothing he could do and that I needed to call Copa’s reservation number, which he couldn’t even give me he said I needed to look it up myself. Then before I had even called the reservation line he said he was closing the ticket counter and wouldn’t be back until 9:30. I called the reservation line who said that there was nothing they could do because my flight hadn’t even left yet and that I needed to talk to the attendant who had already left. I then waiting over 2 hours for the ticket counter to reopen only to be told that all of my flights through Copa had been cancelled and that I would need to pay almost $2000 just to get on different flights. I ended up having to use a completely different airline and spend an additional $1000 because Copa would not help and was extremely rude. This was the first time I would have flown Copa and I will never fly with them again."

En el counter de Copa y en el Servicio al Cliente lo atienden a uno como basura por la gran cola y con gran tranquilidad le dicen a uno: "aquí cambian los -gates-a cada momento" y por eso hay que estar preguntando y viendo las incómodas pizarras electrónicas. Con mi esposa perdimos el vuelo a San Fco el 26 de dic 2017 por estar esperando en la gate del ticket. Era otra!"

She did everything she could to help me as they arranged to get me on the next flight and as I waited and boarded. The other agent serving at that same desk also helped. I am sorry I did not get her name. No one could have been nicer than Ana was to me."
Cons: "When I arrived in Panama my boarding pass said the flight from Panama to Quito was leaving from Gate 20. I checked with the departure information and did not see Quito on the list. I made the mistake of not checking the time. And therefore waited and waited at gate 20 for the flight to Panama which by that time I had missed. And saw later that the gate had been changed at the last to Gate 24. I thought it would have been nice if Copa could have posted the change at Gate 20 . I would not have missed the flight."

I had to do it via "influence", a pain in the neck."

Gate staff lied about the status of the plane, updating the boarding time to 10 minutes and then announcing that the plane was still in the hangar. Passengers would have been much happier to hear the truth of a 2h delay so that we could get food/drink. Instead we had 2h worth of promises that the plane was leaving in 10 mins. No effort was made at being nice--no free snacks or whatever would be nice to make people feel cared for. But what's worse was the flight attendants. I don't even feel like getting into it--just suffice to say these are people who should not be working in the service industry. I saw them being rude to a number of people and it made an already bad experience (with the 2h delay) that much worse. It's not that hard to be polite to people. AA should do more to hire caring, kind staff who create happy vibes even through stressful times."

I don't think that I would have made it all the way without her for thought and help! Same goes after the flight when we landed in Philadelphia. From the plane to gather my luggage and then to the place where my ride could pick me up. Awesome service. The stewards were also very helpful to keep me supplied with ice for my dogs. They get very stressed and tend to overheat. Thanks to a couple of the staff, especially, my dogs stayed very comfortable as well. Other then the fact that they got too warm a couple of times. Will definitely keep American in mind for another flight."

Cons: "Entertainment required an app, that would be ok if the WiFi infrastructure could handle the onboard movies with out constant stoping to buffer. for a 5 hour flight I feel we should at least get a movie that is not on our devices."
Pros: "The plane had a nose problem so we had to wait for maintenance when we are a seated. Only took about 15 minutes for the okay and paperwork. That was amazing."
Cons: "Passengers bringing their luggage on the plane when I had to pay $25.00 to check my bag. That is backwards. It also slows down on and off time."

The line for 1st class and Premier was against the wall, so these passengers had to fight their way through the lines for passengers in sections 3,4,5 just to get to their line. It would make more sense to have groups 1 & 2 in lines which face the door, and keep the lines for 3,4,5 as they are--that is, parallel to the wall. Or, have the lines in the opposite order, so that 1&2 are closest to the concourse, and 5 is next to the wall I actually felt sorry for these 'privileged' passengers who had to fight their way through the other boarding lines just to board when their section was called"
Cons: "Why the hell would you sell a flight with a 40 minute transfer between a domestic and international flight that were in different terminals?! The only reason I made it was because the airport crew was great in helping me get through the airport quickly. And the only reason my luggage made it on time was because my flight was delayed for two hours."

Cons: "A gal that sat with me on the first flight had seat 15a on the flight to Raleigh, she gets very sick and needed the window seat....BUT. you folks are so screwed up at ticketing that you NEVER book families together. I've flow with you folks 20 years and its always been a hassle. She was asked to move to the back of the plane (seat 32) a middle seat...where she was sick the whole ride so you could do the "shuffle" of passengers....it's poor business practice. When I have a choice I fly SW now."

Cons: "Can't believe United is still flying these propeller soda cans in 2017. This plane was absolutely disgusting...smelled like urine throughout, was dirty and grimy, had worn out seats. Basically like borrowing your college roommates 20 year old Buick that he got for free from his grandma. Customer service from the flight attendant was on par with the plane quality. Was snapping at customers and annoyed that everyone didn't understand how he wanted to balance the load in the plane with moving people's seats around. I get why that is super important, but that doesn't mean you can be a jerk about it to *customers* who haven't experienced the pleasure of flying in a pinewood derby car in the sky before."

Cons: "I wasn't informed when I booked that the flight was operated by Air Canda's budget variant, rouge, and not Air Canda as was listed on Kayak. I had no option to select seats, and when we boarded I was seated on the last row by the galley with no reclining seats and the florescent lights were on nearly the whole time on a 10 hour overnight flight. There are no seat back TVs and the free streaming service went down repeatedly just like the AC outlet at our seats (there are only two of these for three people). I booked this trip nearly a year in advance, and I am extremely disappointed that I wasn't informed that I was flying a budget airline on a 10 hour flight."

Cons: "Being wedged in the middle seat after two overseas flights and seeing stand-by passengers in isle and window seats in rows ahead of mine... no, I did not appreciate that. In other words, UA is accomodating stand-by passengers before accomodating customers who have purchased tickets. Try sitting in a middle seat after two overseas flights... especially as a tall person with no knee space and a super-uncomfortable seat with the headcushion area reaching only your neck. Those seats were clearly made for folks under 5'8"-5'9"."

Cons: "The computers were down in SJC so everyone was waiting in line to check in and drop off luggage. It was a very long and slow process, but staff were friendly and professional even with difficult passengers. The thing that bugged me was they kept telling us not to worry and that the flight would be delayed so that we all could make it. I was the last one on the plane and I know there had to be at least 10 that didn't make it in time. I think the flight was only delayed by like 15min or so. I don't think they should tell people not to worry because the plane will wait for them, when it didn't wait for all. I get it that you want to also please those in the plane already and those waiting at destination so I'm not upset. Just giving feedback."

Cons: "A problem passenger ruined the flight for me and several others. He continually left his seat when the seat belt sign was on. I figured he was back smoking or vaping in the lavatory as he came back smelling strongly of after shave, bit seeing him weave around he must've been drinking. Then he stood in the aisle and poured more after shave down his shirt and outside his shirt. The smell was so strong it gave me a headache and make me sick to my stomach. Then he left his seat and sat behind us somewhere with a woman. A flight attendant told another man to come up and sit where he had been sitting. After the man went to sleep this guy came up and kicked him out of his seat. Then he asked the guy by the windows to switch seats with him which the guy did Kama then he proceeded to make him move several times as he had to get out and get out of his seat looking for something. I'm not sure how these things are handled normally but this guy really ruined for me. Aren't there consequences for ignoring all the rules? I probably won't fly United again."

Saw another flight attendant nearly get in a fight with another passenger because she couldn't communicate and wasn't on board with whatever the other flight attendants had told her to do. Probably time to discuss stress management or have some of these people take a break to decompress because it's stressful being trapped with a bunch of jerks who are supposed to be helpful"
