Pros: "I flew from Bali to Doha and then Doha to Dulles after an 8 hour layover. Both flights operated a Boeing 777. The planes were spotlessly clean both flights. The menu choices were amazing and the wine selections were very good. What made the difference was the attentiveness of the cabin crew. I would particularly like to commend the purser and the flight attendants on flight 707 DOH-IAD for their assistance and willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty"
Cons: "Flight 707 was supposed to have the new Qsuites in Business Class, so it was disappointing that without prior notice the airline switched to an aircraft with normal (but quite good) business class seating. Nevertheless, the purser and the flight attendants made the flight memorable in a very positive way."

Pros: "This review is for return travel from ATL to MAA (Chennai, India) and back. Route: ATL-DOH: about 14.5 hrs; DOH-MAA: about 4.5 hrs; Likes: 1. Baggage check-in process was simple and easy. 2. Meal preferences was good - I'm a vegetarian and on the onward journey forgot to specify the meal preference but the crew had enough inventory to meat the requirements. 3. Every seat was provided with a small plastic pouch/packet/goodie bag that consisted of a eye mask (very thoughtful), pair of sock, toothpaste+brush (very thoughtful), hand cream. This was very useful and effective. 4. Entertainment - options were good and current."

Not sure if this is something to do with the browser (tried with Firefox, Opera) 2. It would have been good, as part of the online check-in, if the users reminded to specify the meal preferences, etc. I forgot to specify the meal preferences but thankfully the crew had enough of what I wanted. 3. Take a relook at the packaging of the toothpaste tube in the goodie bag. It was sealed in such a way that it was difficult to open it w/o a sharp object. This should have been easier. 4. Seats were the worst part - poor legroom. Worst, the seat cushion is the worst. I think it was just a fabric over a metal seat with minimalist of cushion. ATL to DOH leg was the worst (and the longest leg of the trip). Unless you have open seats next to you it would be a back breaking and painful trip. Seat comfort wise, I would rate Qatar as the worst. Luckily on the return leg (DOH-ATL) next two seats to mine was empty, so was able to stretch and sleep well. DOH-MAA or MAA-DOH seating was little better (think its a older plane; newer planes have worst seats) 5. The website was damn slow while accessing from overseas. Even in the US, at times the website hangs-up, freezes or spins often. 6. Food was ok -dinner and lunch but minimalistic; I didnt see any specific breakfast menu or any coffee served separately (was part of beverage option during lunch or dinner) 7. There was no alert, communication, notification, reminder of upcoming trip via email or text, etc. Many airlines does this very often but Qatar was totally silent on it (they did have my email during checkin). Not sure why."

Cons: "- Tiny, cramped seats and aisles. I'd heard the Quatar has more leg room than other airlines. This is definitely not true. If the person in front of me reclined all the way, they crushed my knees and I'm only 5'7". - Bathrooms were dirty by 4 hours into the 14 hour flight. Sinks clogged, garbage can overflowing. Not just one bathroom. Gross. - Worst flight attendant service I've ever had, and I don't expect much since I've traveled a lot. Service was rushed, coffee cart for our side of plane never arrived, when I walked to the back to ask for some, they couldn't find the milk and made a fuss about looking for sugar. Lots of similar examples throughout the flight. - The baggage claim carousel number never appeared on the screens at IAD after landing. Other flights showed but not Quatar. We waited a while then walked around to check them all until we found the right carousel. Never seen this happen before. - One of our bags never appeared, so we waited until all luggage had come out and checked with the counter. They found our bag somewhere and brought it over after a 20 minute wait. No explanation given. Good thing we'd counted bags."

I should have suspected a problem when I was requested to change seat in order to assist a family who were in separate seats. Moving was difficult as the plane was being loaded. I managed to get to the seat offered to find someone sitting in it. To top it off the individual was wearing a surgical mask and carrying a large immigration bag. I requested a seat forward but I was denied and I later saw other passengers moved forward to seats that I was denied. If I had known that the flight would have been full of possibility sick immigrants I would have chosen another flight or airline. At certain times the smells were very bad. I felt as a ff member I should have been treated better or been made aware of possible health risks."

A 13 hour flight is no short haul and the Emirates staff kept a positive aire throughout the flight. The meals were very good, the service as well. The facilities were kept clean and accessible. Pros: "So, as mentioned, this was our first time flying Emirates and from our flights from Maryland to Dubai to Philippines has been pleasant, the only issue we've had was with the security process and an incident that my wife encountered in Dubai when we were in the process of boarding to go to Washington Dulles. We landed in Dubai and we were in transit to our connecting flight. We went to our assigned gate and had to check in with security prior to waiting in our gate or boarding the plane. We checked in our electronic devices and my wife was asked to be checked. There wasn't anything wrong up until that moment. My wife cooperated with all the requests of the security agent. They asked her to go inside a security room/enclosed area and the first thing that the security agent asked my wife was why she wasn't wearing her wedding band. It was obvious that she was married because she had a tan line of the marks of wearing a ring. It was her travel ring and she removed it because it was too tight and she explained that to the agent. The agent then made the comment "so you got fat on this trip?". My wife was confused on what she said and asked her "what did you say?". The agent then repeated ..."So you're fat... that's why the wedding ring doesn't fit?" My wife was furious but maintained her cool because she didn't want to give a reason for her to be held from getting on the flight. I didn't see the situation take place and I don't know if there was anything that triggered her comment. My wife felt humiliated. I don't know the agent's name but I wanted to address the incident. Our experience with Emirates has been very pleasant but having to feel helpless after someone with authority to make that comment was humiliating and ruined the rest of her time on the flight as well as mine."

The seats were not the ones that were asked for. I mentioned that there was a medical condition with the leg and my mom would have to get up and move during the flight, but still they allocated seats which are extremely inconvenient to both us and the fellow passengers. We expect better from Emirates!!! I hope they can improve this in the future!"

While watching people cut the line, airport officials taking bribe and allowing some people to cut the line and more. i did not have enough time to purchase from the duty free store in chennai and since my flight from chennai was late it landed late in Dubai so I did not have any time to purchase anything in dubai duty free before my connecting flight. I reached airport 4 hours before departure and I get treated like this, horrible service."

Cons: "Crew is always pleasant but they tend to not manage the other guests when necessary. Many of the other guests would congregate at the rest rooms, did not know how to use the restrooms with out leave it a mess or remains in the toilet and took over an hour sometimes to respond to service requests. In fact the crew seem to disappear for an hour or more after each "dispensing" of food or beverages. Parents need to be spoken to regarding children. There are many people on the plane and children including babies tend to be as loud as they like. That is not considerate for more than 95% of the other passengers. When boarding other passengers need guidance to move things along better. There tend to be clogs at points because passengers try to do too much with the baggage. This is the same for getting off. Passengers would push their way through others to get to bags they stowed many rows behind them. Other passengers need to be curteous of others entering and leaving seats. Getting up and moving is the best options. Many people will sit there and you have to climb other them."
Cons: "Again, I was requested to move seats midway through a flight. A mother of 4 was separated from two of her kids in the flight. About 7 hours into the 14 hour flight, I was asked to move so that one of the children could be placed closer to his mother. Again, I was put in the situation of giving up my own comfort and moving to a middle seat, or standing my ground and disappointing/frustrating the mother. I made the choice to move. But it was disappointing that there was even a need to make these changes. There should be clearer ways for families to book together online."

There is no way the failure was discovered after loading. Usually the seats are ok, this one was the sardine plane, very tight. Pros: "I liked everything about the flight, very comfortable seats (Club World), great staff who were very thoughtful and helpful with our situation (disabled person). The check-in personnel at Chennai were very considerate and helpful, much appreciated. The wheelchair arrangements at Chennai were excellent. The food on the flight was very good and accommodated our dietary restrictions. Entertainment choices (movies) were quite good, too, and managed to get some pretty good sleep as well. The lavatories had green/red light system for availability, visible from our seats, which was very helpful. The lavs were quite well maintained and clean. The flight was on time. and it arrived safely, which is the main thing."
Cons: "The transition from the flight to the terminal at LHR was not optimal, though the staff were trying their best. The "jetty" ramp way for normal deplaning was broken, they said, so they brought a set of steep aluminum steps instead. Navigating these steep steps was not possible for some passengers (difficulty walking and with steps), so finally they called a mechanical lift device (like a fork lift) to help those passengers, many in wheelchairs, who couldn't manage the steps. We had to wait for at least 30-40 minutes on the plane for the lift to arrive and stand outside on its platform up in the air, waiting to be ready to descend to ground level. This was pretty uncomfortable and it made our connection time very short. To compound matters, once on the ground, there was a wheelchair available for only one of us, though 2 had been requested, but as on other flights through LHR, there was unfortunately not enough staff to push it through Term. 5 to the connecting flight. So, I had to do that myself, along with managing my own luggage, which was a bit challenging, as I was tired by then. Our flight connection time, already much shortened by the deplaning situation, was evaporating steadily. Fortunately, there was an excellent staff member from Heathrow, who had been assigned to push someone else's wheelchair, who guided our group of wheelchairs, complete with hand luggage and children, though the maze of Term. 5, through very busy security and finally to our gate. We would have gotten lost and even if not, would almost surely have missed the flight without this guide facilitating this trek. We made the connecting flight with barely 5 minutes to spare."

By then, obviously, only the worst seats were available. Do they care? Obviously no. I'm the one stuck in the worst seats for 8:30h. And that happened both ways in the trip. All they would say is "I'm sorry, I can't help you at this time". As that would improve my flying experience. If the problem was on their side, they should definitely accomodate me."
Pros: "The crew was attentive. I was seated by the window and couldn't get out unless I inconvenienced the two people sitting next to me. Whenever I needed water, I just pushed the attendant button and they brought me ice water, without me even asking."
Cons: "The seats! OMG. The person in front of me leaned her seat back and I swear her head was on my chest. I couldn't even watch my video monitor until I leaned my seat back. I felt really bad for the guy behind me. He was a bigger sized guy and he didn't have the option of leaning his own seat back."

Pros: "The flight itself went smoothly despite some windy conditions, and we were transported in one piece, without incident, from LHR to IAD. The crew members were pleasant in conversation and reasonable in frequency of food service. Once, when I pressed the attendant button, one of them came quickly to ask me what the problem was, and that kind of responsiveness is always a plus, in my opinion. The seats reclined a reasonable amount, not the mere 2-5 cm one sometimes experiences lately."
Cons: "The aircraft was aging at least a bit, and it was clear because my seat almost would not return to the upright position and stay there. Several times I tried to return it to upright as the end of the flight neared, and it would easily move but would return to reclined once I leaned back. It was as if I had been the whole time keeping my finger on the button that makes the seat movable. After I'd about given up, the seat finally stayed upright even when I put my weight back on it. My flight attendant misunderstood my drink request, but I let it go because the result was close to what I had asked for. It could have been that there was too much background noise - not sure."

Cons: "Boarding process atrocious! First a gate change from A to C gates, requiring a train to transit. Then, after walking down a jetway, we were sent through an emergency exit, down two flights of stairs and herded onto buses, and I mean herded. We (including elderly and moms with infants) alongwith our carry-ons were harshly ordered to squeeze together on a bus until there was literally no room to move. A lengthy bus ride with very disgruntled passengers to plane was followed by another set of stairs up to the cabin door. Finally, our departure was delayed 30 minutes while the bags of 2 passengers who got lost in the airport (probably on a bus or train) were retrieved. Not sure whether the fault lies with Heathrow or British Airways, but the experience was bad enough to avoid both in future."
Cons: "we didn't get a snack before landing we only got a drink. we were only given food at the beginning of the flight and it was an 8 hour flight. I was not able to change my flight for this trip had to do it at the counter; but the friend who i was traveling with did have the ability to do so. I went early to the airport in Johannesburg to ensure we could sit together but the workers in terminal A sent me to terminal B (even though they were closed and didn't open until 3) then i went to the ticketing desk and they said they couldn't' help me. so i ask them to call British Airways help desk (since i didn't have a phone internationally) and they said they were closed on the weekend. I wrote the gentleman's name down but i don't have it with me right now. I was finally able to get my seat changed when i checked in at 6pm; lucky there were seats available. I would say the customer service at Johannesburg airport for BA is terrible."

Cannot imagine how much worse it would have been if seat in middle taken."

I'm only 5'4" 118lbs - I can't imagine how anyone bigger than me feels when they have to fly in the same situation."

The distance between the rows in coach was comfortable, even for a 6' tall person. It was a great flight!"

And when we could finally get off, my legs had fallen asleep ffrom being too squeezed in for that relatively short flight. When will the airlines focus on the passengers’ safety & comfort and not on excessive profits?"

Cons: "I am very disappointed with my flight this morning on American Airlines 1533. The crew did an excellent job. The issue, however, is the media AA chose to play at 8:30am. The NBC show that was playing on every overhead TV on the flight featured a woman being sexually assaulted by a man, someone being bludgeoned with a piece a wood until they lay unconscience in a pool of blood, and woman with a gun to her head as she’s being yelled at by multiple men. I was flying with my three year old son. Why on earth is it necessary to show this tv show (or any show that has mature/adult ratings) on a flight that is obviously going to have audiences of all ages? Our flight had a dozen or so children and when you show prime time trash on the overhead TVs, it’s really tough to keep kids from looking forward the entire length of the 2 hour flight so they don’t watch a woman being raped, a man being beaten, or someone being held at gunpoint. I am traveling on behalf of the US government so I didn’t have to pay for my ticket. I did, however, pay for my 3 year old son to accompany me on the flight and I am wholly unsatisfied with the AA team responsible for choosing in-flight ‘entertainment.’ I’m not sure if NBC pays AA to feature their shows or AA has to pay NBC for the pleasure of featuring their trash but either way, what in the world are you guys thinking?"
Cons: "They lost our luggage even though we have 50 minutes between connecting flights."
Pros: "The crew was helpful and nice, boarding was calm, we got there much earlier than anticipated."
Cons: "1) Biggest complaint is not about the actual flight we were on, but the one we missed, who left the gate Early, even though they knew we had landed and other people from our BCN to JFK flight made it. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING, esp since all other flights to DC out of JFK were cancelled. 2) We were on the last row of the plane so our seats didn’t recline. Annoying at best bc the flight was so short, but would have been nice since we had been traveling for 18 hours by that point (because of the late flight, missed connection, cancelled JFK flights, etc)."
Cons: "Flight was fine but took 20 minutes to find a gate agent at DCA to let us off the plane."
Cons: "Very inefficient that all bags had to be checked on the jet way and then picked up on the jet way. The picking up on the jet way turned into a cluster F."
Pros: "Nice modern plane. Even though the flight was delayed, we ended up boarding earlier than expected and arrived pretty close to our original expected arrival time."
Cons: "The crew was nice and everything, but they weren't very good at making announcements on the loudspeaker. You could tell they didn't really know what they were saying or haven't practiced. One lady was trying to make a sales pitch for a new master card and you could tell she was reading and there were long pauses. My sense is that when using the loudspeaker to talk to the entire flight, one should be practiced and know what they're saying and communicate quickly and efficiently. Don't mean to be critical, but it's something that I noticed that could be improved."
Cons: "Flight was delayed for hours- weather related, but at other destinations- so this flight had to wait to be rescheduled. Also they weren't able to give any idea when the flight would be boarding- they just kept sending text alerts that it was delayed another half hour and no updates were listed on the screens. When the flight finally left, after I had been waiting for over 5 hours, we were told that they would be flying low, so there would be no beverage service. It would be nice in these situations to simply have bottled water to pass out quickly, or make the announcement prior to boarding so people would be able to bring their own beverages."
Pros: "Flight was quick, seamless, on-time, and comfortable. WiFi available. Arrived 10 minutes early. Recommend the shuttle because if you don't get one flight, they'll get you on the next. These days, the shuttle is more dependable than Amtrak."
Cons: "Would appreciate a USB port or an outlet."

Cons: "Your subject headline in your email read: How was your Alaska Airlines flight to Washington? All correspondence referenced Alaska Airlines, however my flight was and American Airlines flight and in a terminal on the complete other side of the airport. I suggest you clarify on line."
Cons: "Not once but twice we boarded, sat on the plane for an hour and then were asked to deplane due to mechanical issues. It's understandable for one plane to have problems, but absurd to have issues again with the second plane. After all this, our flight was delayed until the early hours of the morning, leaving many passengers to sleep in the airport. It was uncomfortable, disappointing, frustrating, and the crew seemed very unsympathetic."

Cons: "From the get go it was an awful experience ... I travel with an emotional support animal as does my husband because we don't do well with flying. I have anxiety to the max about it & my husband gets ulcerative colitis flare ups any time he's stressed out which is usually while we fly and having our dogs with us turkey makes us feel better. When I called to tell them over the phone we would have our emotional support animal I got an attitude as if I hadn't been doing this for the last 4 years. She reiterated to me that we needed in addition to the letterhead from the doctor a form filled out (which we both did ) . Brought to the airport and sit had to sit at the counter like the girl didn't know what she was doing. Fast forward to finally getting to the gate after being stressed and our flight was delayed. This now only made our 50 min layover in DC 20 min by the time we landed. We ran from one gate to the next hoping we wouldn't miss our flight and when we got there they wouldn't let us on the plane saying things like "your dogs are not on this flight" "there is no documentation" "well then you must not have the right paperwork" ... in front of a bunch of people in line, out of breath, and now embarrassed I am forced to take out my folder and give them all the paperwork I had just given to the customer service desk before our first flight. They let everyone on the plane and still made us stand there and finally said "just go but your dogs aren't on this flight". Fast forward AGAIN to sitting on the flight the flight attendant comes over and says "guys where's you carrier the dogs need to be under the seats" .. we peoceeded again to explain for the seventh time that they were emotional support animals ... she then proceeded "no they are not they are not even listed on this flight" at this point I'm EXTREMLY embarrassed because people on the plane are paying attention and drawing attention to us but not only that ... I have been doing this for years .. I ALWAYS have the proper documentation as does my husband and we have never ran into this kind of disappointment and embarrassment from any airline until now. I was so stressed out to begin with and this deffinately didn't help ... nor did it make us wants to fly on American again. I felt pushed aside, embarrassed, and belittled by multiples employees ... all because the first employee clearly made a mistake and didn't document things correctly ... that should have never been put on us ."
Cons: "Flight from Miami last night was delayed 3.5 hours (which was a 9:30pm departure to 12:30am departure) There was horrible weather that prevented the Flight captain to arrive on time for our flight. (he was en route from NYC to MIA). But instead of providing accommodations, the times changed and then they boarded us on the plane where we proceeded to wait almost an hour on the plane before take off. Arrived at DCA at 3 am....not a goo start to a work week."
Cons: "Flight was good until, after arriving 30 minutes early to PWM, our plane had to wait about that much time for our gate to open. Once pulling to the gate we waited another 15 minutes for someone to figure out the walkway and open the door tom the plane-- all with no communication from the crew."
Cons: "i decided to purchase a separate direct flight at a different time instead of changing my flight, only to be informed later when i tried to hop on the back end of my original flight, that they had canceled my ticket since i hadnt boarded on the front end of that flight. i had spoken to a customer service rep about my option before purchasing the extra ticket, and she did not mention that this would be an issue. then i had to pay extra to get back on my original flight."
Cons: "When the pilot took off at LGA he said "everyone here is trying to take off at the same time" so we'd be delayed by 30 min. Not once was there a mention of any other reason. By the time we got to DC I had JUST missed my connecting flight. It was listed nowhere on the departures screen and I realized I had to take an outdoor bus to the other half of the "c" terminal which was very confusing. I got there and had missed the connecting flight and stand in line for 20 min for someone to tell me that I would be stuck in DC overnight. At this point rain had started pouring and they told me that because my mishap was due to weather they would provide no meal or hotel voucher. Weather was not the issue and I was stuck in DC overnight by myself and not compensated for hotels or meals."
Pros: "I appreciated the service and attention. I got to the airport early and was given the option to take the earlier flight to DC"
