Germany has restricted the entry of travelers who are arriving from outside the European Economic Area, except for nationals of Germany, residents with a residence permit, and D-Visa holders, and certain exceptions (detailed below).
Germany has restricted all air passenger flights from the UK until January 20. In order to travel to Germany on exempt transportation UK nationals resident in Germany will require proof of residence. If they are not yet in possession of a residence card, they will be required to provide credible evidence that they are resident in Germany. This could include an address registration certificate (Meldebescheinigung), a tenancy agreement, a utility bill in their name, or a certificate of application (Fiktionsbescheinigung).
As of June 25, travelers arriving from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland may enter Germany.
Germany has also lifted restrictions on entry for travelers coming from the following countries: Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand and Uruguay. Travelers must have spent at least 2 weeks in the above-listed countries prior to their flight to Germany. Restrictions will also be lifted for entry from China, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Macao if this can be agreed on a reciprocal basis. The list will be reviewed every two weeks.
Entry from any third country is possible for travelers who can demonstrate an important reason for their travel. The list of important reasons covers German and EU citizens and any third-country nationals with a right of residency in Germany. It also includes healthcare and social care personnel and health researchers, skilled workers whose economic activity is necessary and cannot be postponed or performed from abroad, freight and transport staff, seasonal workers, students who cannot continue their studies from abroad, travelers making visits for urgent family reasons, diplomats and staff at international organizations, and persons transiting Germany.
Travelers entering Germany after staying in a designated risk area abroad during the previous 14 days must undergo mandatory testing for COVID-19. The German government regularly updates its list of designated risk areas. See the "English archive" at the bottom of the Robert Koch Institute page for the latest updated list.
Travelers who need to be tested have the choice to either present a valid test taken within 48 hours prior to arrival.
Travelers entering Germany from another country and have visited a high-risk area in the last 10 days, must complete adigital registration prior to travel.
Quarantine requirements in Germany differ depending on the German state. All travelers arriving from high-risk areas (over 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants) are required to stay in home quarantine for 10 days on arrival in Germany. After 5 days it is possible to secure release from quarantine with a negative test. More information can be found here.
In most federal states (Länder), testing negative, at the earliest after five days, means home quarantine is no longer required. Furthermore, in some federal state (Land) regulations, exemptions from the quarantine obligation require the submission of a negative test result.

Cons: "When its rain we shouldn’t walk to the air plain"
Cons: "A little bit chaotic when they loaded two planes at the same time in a very tight space in Amsterdsm but this was most likey an airport soecific design issue and not a KLM issue. The flight was as good as can be expected fir an international flight. The staff was great"

Pros: "Newer plane, crew was amazing, seats were adjustable"
Pros: "The crew was great. The soecial meal request was hadled well despite oversight."

Pros: "KLM staff is great"
Pros: "Nice seats. Only seats with a row of 2, which is what I wanted,"
Pros: "The flight started with a visit in the recently renovated KLM crown lounge in Amsterdam airport. I liked the various seating options and of course the upstairs bar. The service on board was attentive and efficient, the food options I really liked (especially the Chinese dish) but also the little touches like the nuts & gouda cheese which were served in small porcelain bowls. The seat itself was very comfortable when sitting and the structure gives a lot of privacy. However for couples or friends travelling it's a bit cumbersome to have a conversation even when sitting in seats next to each other. Overall my expectations were fulfilled."
Cons: "This seat is not ideal for sleeping for taller persons (I'm 185cm tall) as the space to put the feet is very narrow and it's uncomfortable when lying on the back (as one cannot put them in the natural resting position). Cabin temperature could have been a bit lower for my taste. Crew needs better training with regards to transfer procedure in Chengdu."
Pros: "Friendly hostesses"
Cons: "Flight was delayed 3 hours"
Pros: "Efficient boarding system, clearly signposted. Professional staff"
Cons: "I’ve traveled a lot internationally and this was the WORST flight I’ve ever had to endure. I felt like I was being tortured and didn’t sleep at all and so slept when getting into Amsterdam rather than being able to explore the city. I was out $200 for the Airbnb (could’ve stayed in the airport cheaper) and $200 for a dinner cruise I slept through. NEVER AGAIN"
Pros: "The service"
Cons: "The seats"
Pros: "Amsterdam airport and Rome airport were as breeze to navigate, even only knowing English"
Pros: "Excellent service. A meal , drink and a coffee included which we were not expecting."
Pros: "The food rocks! I know that I will always be eating well with KLM. The staff is always so nice, professional and cordial...I always know I'll be in good hands with the flight. KLM #605 from Amsterdam to SFO---please pass the praise to all of them."
Pros: "Easy flight; loved the crew and their friendly customer service. Great food, kept everyone hydrated and fed."
Cons: "The movie options, as well as music and TV options were limited. There were no electrical outlets."
Pros: "Interior of the plane was clean. Smooth landing."

Pros: "Food and staff behaviour"
Pros: "Friendly attendants. Decent food, and frequent snacks and beverages."

Cons: "The streaming service didn’t work"
Pros: "Great service"
Pros: "Flight crew was fine. Food was good."
Cons: "Checking in was extensive for unaccompanied minor. But gate crew was very unnattentuve and though we showed up as first in line, they did not focus, and kept saying to wait. Ultimately our son was last person on the plane."
Pros: "Food was good and crew members were very nice"
Cons: "My check in luggage was in very bad condition when I receive it. My clothes were all wet and they got bab by each other’s colour. Many clothes are not in a condition to wear now. Those were expensive and I had a big loss because of that."
Pros: "Delayed flight but staff apologized as for safety reasons."
Cons: "Very late arrival"
Pros: "Easy boarding, plenty of room"
Cons: "They didn’t let us board the plane. Allegedly the plane was changed and make us travel by train!! They offered us a compensation but we haven’t heard from them yet. Not good experience at all."
Cons: "Late Cabin extremely warm Full flight and centre seat means no room to relax or carry out work"
Cons: "magazines very dog eared and some badly torn"
Pros: "I was upgraded to Buisness so, no complaints"
Cons: "No Marlboro light cigarettes on the duty free shopping cart"
Cons: "KLM had bumped us to a later flight for no reason and again we had to call with a long wait to get our original connection restored, However, we did not get boarding passes during checking in Europe and thus had to go outside security in Detroit to the main check-in gate and wait 30 minutes to get the error resolved. Then it was back thorough security and a rush to the gate to get there in time to board. Lost our original seat assignment and wound up in the last row at the tail of the plane. Extremely poor coordination between KLM and Delta who operated the flight."
Pros: "Very efficient boarding, fast and professional but warm and friendly. The plane was very clean and quite spacious for a two by two configuration. On time departure and landing and smoothed processing at the other end."
Cons: "Nothing to improve"
Pros: "Everytime she passed she was hitting me or I had to hold my drink so that she wouldn't knock it off"
Pros: "Speed, crew, and reliablity."
Cons: "Food wasn't good, no entertainment or accessory plug ins, and seats were worn out! Not comfortable at all. Great leg room though."
Pros: "I have no complaints about the air crew. They where pleasant and attentive. Plenty of free entertainment. The food was good."
Cons: "my only complaint is the USB ports didn't work on any of the chairs that me and my family where assigned to."
