Liked the XL seat, but didn't like the check-in process at the Delhi Airport gate 5B. Though I had paid for the priority boarding, there was mad rush at the gate and allowed whoever with might pushed in. Then at the gate we were picked up for compulsory checkin the hand baggage as the flight was full. There were any with more than 2 bags and massive cabin baggage. But they didn't dare to stop them.. Overall a very badly managed check-in process.

Salam air flights are very full . So there is no way to fallow Covid 19 protocol . All seats are occupied . They should consider less passenger in each flight .

Finally, when we reached BOM, it took the wheelchair service nearly an hour to get me and other wheelchair dependent passengers off the plane. This nearly caused us to miss our connecting flight to Newark. We also did not get to use the lounge in BOM as a result of the delay in AMD and BOM. I was travelling in Business Class due to my severely bad health condition. My husband was travelling in economy. AI ground staff was so arrogant and inconsiderate that they would not help my husband get a seat (within economy class) close to the Business Class section so he can attend to me periodically on the 16-hour long flight to Newark. In addition to the ground and flight staff being inconsiderate, the interior of the plane and the food service (in the economy class) are less than mediocre. We had choice of other airlines, but being proud indians, my wife and I decided to give AI a chance. Next time, we will find other ways to show our love for India than patronizing AI."

The bathrooms look like they haven't been cleaned ever. It generally felt like Air India does not maintain their aircraft, which makes me wonder if they do their safety maintenance on time as well. In addition, after we had taxied to the runway and were about to take off, the pilot suddenly returned to the gate because "something looked wrong." All of that adds to the feeling that this airline does not do proper maintenance."

And this happened an hour AFTER departure time, making me and half the plane miss connecting flights. Never book through them, pay the extra to save yourself the headache.
