Cons: "4 hrs delay due to failure of Singapore Airlines to have a working plane on site at the appointed time. Even worse: chaotic deplaning with one crew member telling passengers to deplane and another yelling at them in the bridge for doing so. A mess of lines trying to get a new boarding pass for a rebooked missed connection—at the front of the line the agent said oh, you need to wait in this other line. Agents had no clue where to direct passengers and gave incorrect directions that necessitated more waiting. No updates to new flight time in the business class lounge. Once the flight was in the air, service was terrible. Attendants would ask for orders, then never bring them or bring the wrong thing."

If you can get one of these on long haul they are a very nice plane, individual compartments and some very modern touches. Windows darken without blinds, loads of space in your compartment and food was good even as just a snack."

The worst kind of budget airline. To be honest....the plane was not that bad. Would have been good to have some food choices and some water. What was by far the worse is the passengers/customers that this airline attracts. Coughing and spluttering all over one another with no masks. Just disgusting. Pay for a better carrier and get a better class of passenger.

Seats were comfortable enough and there was plenty of room for our carry on luggage. Boarding was on the tarmac and a little chilly but very orderly. Moving through security and customs/immigration at the Nanjing airport is a bit disorganized for in transit passengers but we were patient and the ground staff were very organized and helpful once we were taken to check in."

Cons: "There was definitely someone(s) smoking on the plane - cigarette smoke would waft through the cabin intermittently. Free wi-fi should be made available. My seat wouldn't stay reclined, so I had to push down on it the whole time. I took a flight from JFK to Taipei with a long layover in Taipei. No significant delays, but the boarding process in both areas was unorganized; everybody just kind of lines up in a large mass. Boarding doesn't actually begin until like 5-10 min before the stated departure time, so actual departure is also pushed back. However, we ended up arriving around the stated time so I guess it doesn't really matter."

I had to buy a whole new ticket (that was much more expensive then the one I already had) on top of the one I already purchased and now have to attempt to get refunded"

Pros: "CE has B777 to/from JFK which are up to date and comfortable. The biz class is similar to all others, lie flat and more than enough entertainment. The flight attendants are fantastic, always willing to do what ever they can."
Cons: "Often you must deplane/board from the tarmac on connecting flights in PVG. Of course only an issue during in climate weather or if you have difficulty with steps. They are building another terminal so hopefully in a year or so all flights can board form the terminal."

Cons: "The flight was delayed for half an hour, and then waited in the plane for another three hours before take off. I guess a few hours of delay is normal when you fly in China. The passengers waited seating in the plane for more than 3 hours not knowing the reason of the delay nor when will it take off. There were no choice of meal. The meal was very basic and was with too authentic flavor and material. Rice was undercooked and compressed in rectangular shape probably by food producing machine. No individual grains can be seen. There were no individual monitors or entertainment available, but understandable, considering that it is a two and a half hour flight."
Cons: "They just gave out my aisle seat to other Chinese person without my consent, and put me into a cramped middle seat in the back. The crew didn't address my complaint nor care for my situation. They just care their own people (Chinese national)."

The food was abysmal and I got sick from it on the way to and from my destination - I would not recommend that ANYONE eat the food. The attendants were rude and did not have a grasp of English - lots of reaching over, using hand gestures instead of words. People were definitely smoking on the flight - at least three of the four flights I took and I'm not sure how the attendants didn't stop the smokers. These were also flights where there was a lot of uncovered coughing, hacking and uncovered sneezes in addition to unrelenting farting. Neighboring passengers did not practice personal space and constantly leaned over on myself and my friend."

Cons: "China Eastern changed their flight twice: 1. 3/31/2017 MU 5078 the Orginal departure time was 20:55, but the actual departure time was 19:50; 2. 4/15/2017 MU 5077the Orginal departure time was 18:35, but the actual departure time was 17:19, and this made me to miss the flight on 4/15/2017. However, there was nobody informed me the flights were changed including KAYAK, I never get any email from KAYAK, this is really unaccepteble, and wasted my time to change flight."

Cons: "It was freezing cold. Everybody on the plane looked like a National Geographic episode on Antarctica. There was no way to shut the air off and it was blasting cold air down my neck for like 16 hours. The thin blanket they give you is pretty much a joke for how cold they keep it in the airplane. All who were not prepared for such conditions were cryogenically frozen upon arrival. Thanks China Eastern!"

Terrible comfort but it was only an hour flight so I survived. Anything longer than the hour from Phuket to Phi Phi, I would never fly this airline. Like I said, you get what you pay for."

The flight itself was reasonably priced compared to others when we went to check the baggage they said we had to pay separate which was news to me and ultamitly my fault for not catching that as I was booking it. In Thailand my wife who is Thai tried to figure out the situation and the person at the check in desk was very rude. We are used to having a checked bag for an infant but half the size of a adult ticket so our infant bag. So we had 10kg bag for my daughter then the rest of our luggage at the 15kg weight. We ended up having to pay for 900baht per checked bag up to as many adult tickets. But they counted our first bag as a adult ticket so at the end we had one extra 15kg bag at which they charged us excess baggage fee of 400baht per kg... They would not let us switch the order of the bags so the smaller of the bags would fall in that category. So our baggage price was much more expensive then the initial flight itself. It would not have been that bad but the guy that we had to deal with was very rude on top of all that sudden news. If the customer service was better and more polite it would have been much better to deal with."

My girlfriend is in a wheelchair and can't travel without checking a bag with medical supplies. In the US, the charge is usually waived. On this flight, not only did we get charged, but we got double charged for not booking the checked bag ahead of time. In addition, nothing was for free on the plane. It was a terrible travel experience."

For that plane they accepted the payment for bags but refused to give the priority seats which I have payed for the plane that I did not board. Be aware that they do everything to charge you extra money!!!"
