Pros: "To be honest I had a pretty bad flight because my allergies exploded during the entire flight - constant sneezing, runny nose, you name it. However, the attentiveness of the crew really made up for it. The cabin was decorated with tiny wreathes (so cute!), and the pillow/blanket was very comfortable/warm for an Economy seat. Although I did not use it as much, the entertainment seemed top-notch. And the crew-- they noticed that I was not feeling well, and offered me peppermint tea and snacks that did sooth things a bit (you can request for snack/beverage refills anytime!). I loved that they gave out black socks to the passengers too (I prefer taking my shoes off during the flight, so the socks added warmth & prevented my own socks from getting dirty). All in all, it was one of the best-serviced long flights I had, not to mention probably the most affordable price I paid for my annual trip to Korea (from LA)."

Pros: "Excellent seat and pillow cushion... The krisworld in-flight entertainment was extremely easy to use while still having a wide selection of films. The touchscreen was also very simple and did t require a great deal of force to press a button...the steamed towel given before take off was extremely relaxing and set a high standard of expectations during this flight. Almost all of the those expectations were met. The toilets were extremely clean and the service of toothbrushes was the icing on the cake. For my meal I ordered Indian fish curry which could have been a little more spicy (I am Indian so I eat foods with many spices)."

I was travelling with a baby and the staff was not even considerate about it and attending fast. I doubt if I would travel with qatar again"

But still the leg room would have been ok but the middle seat (second row behind the bilkhead row) had the front passenger's entertainment system arranged across the footwell, not sideways, so it completely blocked the footwell and prevented any stretching of the legs. I am a tall passenger and this caused much discomfort on the flight, I had to keep getting up to walk around. I also found the seat bottom quite uncomfortable (not enough padding I think), butnghis could have been made worse by the footwell issue. Regards Neil"

Cons: "What they get wrong- Taking the Doha to Manama flight is like riding the commuter bus from New Jersey to New York City in the U.S. You get there, but that's about it. The waiting area is too small for the number of flights and quantities of people processing through. Many passengers were sitting on the floor while awaiting their flights. Not classy. The boarding process is tedious, and, inefficient, with people cutting in line, others trying to re-negotiate seating while getting their boarding cards scanned, and others not allowing room for additional passengers on the bus that takes you out to the plane. They get on, and block the doorway, so that they can be the first off when we get to the plane. It seems like no one is interested in making this quick and easy, so we can leave on time. That's the other thing. How can a local airline, named for its country, not leave on time? We were delayed about 20 minutes, waiting on people. Just leave them behind! Stick to schedule!"

When we arrived at Hong Kong, there was no wheelchair on the bridge, and after disembarking and being told to wait, it took 30 minutes for them to bring one. The ground staff kept trying to convince us to just walk which seemed very unprofessional."

I am a pure vegetarian & in all my flight the crew made sure that I got the correct food tray & it was not mixed with wrong mean (non veg.) by mistake. Unlike other flight where meal is just an obligation, Cathay made sure that the taste was very nice too. Full points to them. The quality of seats was good & nice leg space as well. The layover was way shortest as compared to other competitor flights. Overall the experiance was very pleasant & I highly recommend Cathay Pacific."

The dinner was pretty decent, and they gave a small bottle of water along with Hagen Daz ice cream. The seats reclined pretty well for economy class (the bottom of the seat shifted too, which was unexpected). Power outlets at every seat and an extensive entertainment system with movies from Eastern and Western culture."

Literally 1/2 the flight people were just wandering around and the attendants gave up. Seriously guys, on a 10+ hour flight, that's not cool."

Cons: "If you take a late night flight from LAX they will wake you up to feed you about an hour or hour and a half after take off. It was quite uncomfortable to be asleep and to suddenly have all the lights turned on and woken up to sit the seat upright. It would definitely recommend waiting till after this to fall asleep. Not the crews fault, I just wasn’t aware of this."

Cons: "Crewmen at the luggage/bags scanning were very rude. Our flight from Manila to Guangzhou was delayed by an hour or so. With all the pressure we were already experiencing and rushing to get to our connecting flight, here comes these crewmen in charge of scanning our bags we're all shouting at us to rush. The delay was not the passengers fault."

Cons: "There system wasnt like this before. We had to take the transit visa for 1 day and it was way too much work. You have to stand in the que for two different lines and for almost more than a hour. We visited there earlier and it wasnt like this."

Cons: "The flight from Korea to Beijing was delayed several times, causing me to miss my onward connections in Beijing and Urumqi. They claimed this was due to weather concerns, but funny that--it was partly cloudy at worst, and every other carrier seemed to be departing on time. Because this isn't a daily route, they reschedule me for two days later at no cost (the one thing that went well here), and the exact same thing--multiple delays, missed connections, and all as other carriers seemed to be running on schedule. At this point, I just deemed the trip not worth it. They have refunded my fare, but I would have preferred my two weeks holiday in Georgia by far."

Cons: "I expected that I would have the priviledge to check in 2 bags but was informed that I had to pay 400+rmb extra last minute to include my 2nd bag. The zipper on my suitcase had been opened by someone and now will not properly close after I retrieved my bag when I arrived in Incheon International airport in South Korea. I hope that I will not have problems with my suitcase when I complete the last 2 parts of my trip back to the U.S. from Korea"

Cons: "Flight to Fuzhou delayed hours, no information given. Flight from Fuzhou was cancelled. China Southern didn't book us on another flight, or notify us. I spent an hour and a half trying to get a substitute flight (which left 5 hours earlier, meaning our layover was 7 hours in the airport). They said they wouldn't charge me this time (?!). The customer service was terrible, but the fact that they cancelled a flight without notification and re-booking was preposterous."

Cons: "I am frequent business traveller, I flew from KTM to CAN from China Southern. I tell you they have the worst service ever. I asked for a glass of wine in return they show me empty bottle and says we don't have it anymore. This is humuliation, I rated them -10 for Customer Service out of 10."

Cons: "When my flight was delayed and then cancelled, no one came to the gate to explain what was happening. When a crew member finally arrived, he told us to follow but didn't tell us where we were going or what was going on. Crew members and airport staff kept motioning for us to move along like they wanted to get rid of us. They kept saying, "Go! Go!" But wouldn't tell us where. I felt lost and confused the entire time. TERRIBLE customer service. I will never fly this airline again."
Pros: "The best thing about this airline was their on-flight meals. It was one of the best on-flight meals I ever had in my whole life of flying. I had absolutely no problems with boarding on and off the plane. It really was a smooth transition all throughout my flights on China Southern. Entertainment variety was quite vast and I enjoyed them but they weren't too up to date so hope they can put in the recent TV episodes and movies. Flight attendants were quite nice but sometimes ignored me which was strange. But overall, they seemed friendly but I hope they could be more attentive."
Cons: "I don't know if their planes are old or they don't keep them maintained well but I had two technical malfunctions on my flights. First was that my seat couldn't lean back on a three hour flight from Seoul to Guangzhou. I couldn't do anything about it so I tried my best to sleep with not being able to lean back. I was very disappointed to be in a seat that couldn't lean back. It's my first time ever experiencing this. Second, was a 13.5 hour flight from San Francisco to Guangzhou. I plugged in my earphones to watch some shows and no sound was coming out. I asked for new earphones but with these new ones I could only hear half of the audio. It was like I could hear the background music but I couldn't hear the people talking. So then I asked for another set of earphones and I still had the same problem. So I came to the conclusion that most likely it's the problem with the entertainment machine and not my earphones. This was very disappointing to have happened on a long flight so I just slept through the flight and only listening to my MP3 player. With these two instances, I feel that probably China Southern don't maintain their technical parts of the plane well. I never had these instances happen to me on previous airlines so I was very disappointed to have these happen to me on China Southern. I would like to fly on China Southern again but these technical malfunctions are really deterring me."
