I am pregnant and was carrying a 2 y/o toddler and had no preferential/priority treatment. Though we arrived 2+ hours before our departure, we only just made our flight. Ground crew were unfamiliar with Brazilian laws on entry for citizens with expired passports. Our bags never left DC and we received them over 72 hours later in Sao Paulo, after much confusion. We were not offered any means of compensation for this inconvenience."

When we arrived in Bogota, at 9:40 we had time to catch the connecting flight to Montevideo which was scheduled to leave at 10:20pm.... but instead we stayed in the tarmac without moving for over 45 minutes. There were over 30 passengers that were to take that connecting flight, so the airline had plenty of reasons to wait for us. Instead the airline, AVIANCA, chose to leave all of us stranded in Bogota for 24 hours. We will have all type of problems because of this we had hotel reservations as well as car rental reservations that may be lost because we didn't showed up. By the way according to one of the passengers whose husband travelled on the same flight the day before. The same thing happened to him 1 day earlier."

Pros: "Overall this is one of the best airlines I often travel with. Their cost is economic compared to the other airlines flying and their customer service attention is one of the best. They always have food and drinks available to people and obviously have a priority when it comes to children. Their seats in economy are somewhat spacious and international flights always have good entertainment with their touch screen. You can listen to music, watch movies and even TV shows without any extra cost."

I was connecting to a domestic flight to Goiania, Brazil, so I needed to drop off my checked bag somewhere to be sent to the plane's cargo. I went to the check-in desk for Avianca, and then they pointed me to the nearby bag drop-off area, which had a 45-minute line. The time wasn't too important for me in that I made it to boarding 25 minutes before the flight--the part that would have been better would be to have on the itinerary that I go to the Avianca check-in/bag drop-off area in Terminal 2 after Customs."

The incoming flight was two hours late, so the departure was late. Our arrival in Paris was late. We made the flight, but our luggage didn't. Our return flight from Paris to Dulles was half an hour late because of people from connecting flights. We arrived about 30 minutes late, but no big deal (unless you had a connection)"

My pregnant wife and I made it to the gate 4 minutes before the scheduled departure and they told us the plane was already gone and there was no way for us to get on the plane. Our bags did make it to Sioux Falls, so my wife didn't have her prenatal vitamins, , we had no clean clothes and we were forced to spend the night in Atlanta. The saddest part of yet another terrible experience with Delta was that they offered us a "discounted" room at a terrible Howard Johnson for $72. I looked online and the same hotel was $65 to book on Kayak. So basically Delta was trying to scam us after they screwed us. Thanks Delta! Instead we paid $200+ to stay at an airport hotel. Every time I fly Delta I regret it, yet occasionally I get forced to take their awful airline to get somewhere I need to go. It never fails to add another bad Delta experience to my long list of failings from this SAD!!! airline."

I explain I booked the dog already and give all my required documents. Once in Mexico the documents were given to the authorities and when the crew in Detroit made copies they kept the originals and gave me the copies and they made me pay 1800 pesos for a vet to come and sign the paper.. I spoke to aeromexico in Mexico City and they said they are sorry but nothing can be done... Cons: "The email said that we could check-in online 48 hours ahead of time. This was not available until less than 24 hours ahead of time. Then when I tried to use this feature, it would not work. The webpage was malfunctioning and would not let me check-in. When we checked in at the desk at the airport, it took them a ridiculous amount of time to find us seats. When she did finally find us seats with barely enough time left to get to the gate to board, she had put two of us on stand-by for the connecting flight. There should have been no question about us having seats let alone being put on stand-by. We had booked this flight well in advance and had confirmation from the booking site and AeroMexico. When we got to Mexico City, they had already bumped the two on stand-by off our flight and put them on another flight the would leave 6 hours later that day. Again there was no possible justification for this, especially since the flight they should have been on with us was only 2/3 full. Although this was less of a nightmare that my 1st flight with AeroMexico had been, again the staff was unhelpful and purposely caused us inconvenience and delay for unacceptable reasons. I intend to never fly with AeroMexico and will tell everyone I know not to fly with them either."

There should be backup crew available and when there are delays, the passengers should be kept informed. There should be other flight options available when this happens. I never received an apology from anyone I encountered throughout the process, and some personnel were rude even though I was polite."

Cons: "The layover in Boston was an hour or so, but the miscommunication between American Airlines and Iberia was such, that my luggage never left the US. I am very upset cause Iberia did not even provided any good ground help in Lisbon - Portugal, with the most rude personnel I ever had to deal with that was actually annoyed I was complaining they lost my luggage, they offer no assisatance."

Cons: "Didn't let me take my hand luggage, small that complies with the size and told me only at gate, I said I had things that could brake and showed no concern and they would send it to my final distinction instead giving it to me in the end of first flight...I've been traveling around the world and the disrespect for customers and poor service of most of US carrier is amazing... some African companies are much better. on the second flight, almost two hours delay, the plane from philly to Lisbon, old, just s few tv screens, exactly like the North Korean airways..., bad food, my tray stayed with me the whole fly, flight attendant not very professional with no concern for customers and job."

Pros: "The Resolution team assisted me initially when I arrived to correct an issue from my online attempt. The agent printed bag checks for me to my final destination and told me how to get needed boarding pass for the final stage. How wonderful to have pleasant and professional personal attention."

Pros: "Boarded quickly. Seats were comfortable. Friendly flight attendants. It was a quick flight, no entertainment used. Only had a cookie and water for food. Don't know about the other things."

Cons: "Attempted to make my connection which was in another terminal. Could not get onboard as they shut the doors. My rerouted flight was in a different terminal. Overall a very disappointing travel experience."

Pros: "Crew was ok, did their best considering the circumstances, but even they were getting aggravated and were short with the passengers near the end."
Cons: "The Washington airport is horrible. The gate we left from was not a gate but a series of doors that buses came to. This wouldn't be so bad if they were able to handle it in an orderly way, but the airport showed complete incompetence in organizing anything and there were people everywhere trying to find the right door which kept changing on them, and the times kept changing...it was a mess. Then, when we finally got on the plane and were about to take off, the air traffic control tower called and said that their flight path was incorrect and to not take off...but didn't give them a new flight path for nearly two hours as we sat on the runway. Nationalize the airports in DC, fire the whole lot and start fresh, I'd say."

Cons: "To start, the boarding process is a chaos. First class and executive platinums should board first, but of course the gate agent was completely clueless and rude, even to an ExPlat. Althiugh the flight is only 1.35 hours, I was surprised that flight attendants didn't even make an effort to offer a drink service. No turbulence or anything, just seems they were lazy."

Cons: "Gate 35x at National just doesn't work. A woman fell on the ice trying to get to the shuttle bus, on which we sat for a long time before leaving for the plane. After a chaotic boarding, the plane sat around as the flight became late, and the pilots gave no explanation for the delay or hint of when we might take off."

Pros: "Pilot kept us in the know given congestion at LGA. And kept us safe because of expected turbulence."
Cons: "I feel like the airline should know LGA is backed up since they flight mostly the same schedule daily. Flight AA2174 should be pushed to a later time so passengers don't have to sit on the tarmac."

Cons: "Airline never assigned me a seat. They just told me what sea to sit in when I was boarding. I was concerned I would be bumped since when checking the airline said it could not assign a seat."

Cons: "United. September 14 Newark to Delhi Premium Economy Entertainment screen didn't work for 1st hour of the flight. the movie list was mediocre at best. The screen was smeared with some substance. The list of movies on the United entertainment app is great (via internet) but connectivity on this type of flight is spotty so the traveler is forced back to the antique screen plane system. Dinner. Butter chicken or vegetable options. Food was bland and very small portions for the length of flight. The snack was delivered immediately after dinner was picked up. I did not open it. Looked like a hard roll with something on it. Style of service is abrupt, bordering on rude. Uses terminology that non-US travelers from different cultures would not understand, for instance do you want "white" coffee. Asked me if I had someone at home to pick up after me as she felt she was cleaning too much off the floor. Her comments appeared to be directed at me but it was not my trash (and even if it was, a better approach would be recommended). The flight attendant realized she had gone too far and apologized. Then complained about this "route" being difficult, with no one listening. She concluded by wishing me a good flight and saying that she hoped that she had not offended me. I assured her that she had. Breakfast was mediocre. Egg with soggy potatoes and an inedible sausage. Did not see what they were offering in the veggie dish. Staff seems tired and not culturally sensitive. There needs to be some retraining and consideration given to long haul menus and entertainment. I take this flight at least once a year. It continues to deteriorate."

After standing in line at the United counter for 2 hours, we were told to go to our gate to re-board our plane. we wasted all that time standing and all but 2 agents had left the counter to take a break. it was EXTREMELY STRESSFUL not knowing what would happen to our missed connections. when we reboarded WE still did not have connecting flights.Also, on the United flight to Frankfurt, I had a premium economy seat and it was HORRIFIC. the extra leg room did NOT make the seat more comfortable and I SUFFERED greatly because I am recovering from an injury. Upon arrival in Frankfurt, after a great deal of begging, I got a hotel room for the night and upgrad to economy premium for the flight from Frankfurt to Addis. that Lufthana flight was better because my seat reclined somewhat but still I had a great deal of pain throughout the flight and I would have preferred to have been upgraded to business so that I could lay flat to ease my physical pain. Overall, the experience was extremely STRESSFUL and painful and the only way, I feel that Lufthana can repair this situation is to give me a free upgrade to business on my flight home.to Miami"

They then said United couldn't assign seats at check in - only at the gate AND THEN the said they couldn't assign seats for our second leg because it was operated by Luftansa. It was ridiculous added stress on our honeymoon and my husbands first cross Atlantic trip. Made me never want to fly Luftansa/United transatlantic again (and I have been a milageplus card holder so that's saying something)"
