Cons: Departure time was 14:47. To be in waiting area 13:47. We started "boarding" (getting on the bus) at app 14: 17 or so. That's when the "fun" started. Bus arrives at plane, which apparently was all but ready for boarding (the stairs were not at plane. Must have waited (with two buses behind us) for half hour or more. Then the stairs were moved to the plane for boarding (or so we thought). Bus driver moved to the stairs, but cocky co-pilot found it more important to argue with bus driver. At certain point, we drove off again, with one bus following and other bus, believe it or not, went on plane. Back at the waiting room, absolutely NOBODY provided info. Police was brought into the waiting area for "comfort". Back to the plane at 16:00 or something. So far, no excuses, or explanations. At certain point the cocky co-pilot and captain were "exchanged" for new cockpit crew. At that time it seemed the announcement system wasn't working properly. Engineers on board etc. At 17:17, 2.5 hrs after scheduled departure, the captain welcome's passengers. As if NOTHING has happened, no apologies and/or explanations for 2.5 hr delay!!!! It is shocking how the crew dealt with this and the complete lack of respect for its passengers!!!!

Cons: Check in at Dulles was chaos, even though we had completed online check in and just needed to do our luggage drop. I am pregnant and was carrying a 2 y/o toddler and had no preferential/priority treatment. Though we arrived 2+ hours before our departure, we only just made our flight. Ground crew were unfamiliar with Brazilian laws on entry for citizens with expired passports. Our bags never left DC and we received them over 72 hours later in Sao Paulo, after much confusion. We were not offered any means of compensation for this inconvenience.

Cons: The flight was delayed for more than an hour at Dulles. When we arrived in Bogota, at 9:40 we had time to catch the connecting flight to Montevideo which was scheduled to leave at 10:20pm.... but instead we stayed in the tarmac without moving for over 45 minutes. There were over 30 passengers that were to take that connecting flight, so the airline had plenty of reasons to wait for us. Instead the airline, AVIANCA, chose to leave all of us stranded in Bogota for 24 hours. We will have all type of problems because of this we had hotel reservations as well as car rental reservations that may be lost because we didn't showed up. By the way according to one of the passengers whose husband travelled on the same flight the day before. The same thing happened to him 1 day earlier.

Cons: Seats were pretty uncomfortable on both flights for such a duration... The layover/transfer in Bogota was chaotic, and rushed. My luggage did not make it to the final destination, so I am here with none of my belongings :(

Pros: Overall this is one of the best airlines I often travel with. Their cost is economic compared to the other airlines flying and their customer service attention is one of the best. They always have food and drinks available to people and obviously have a priority when it comes to children. Their seats in economy are somewhat spacious and international flights always have good entertainment with their touch screen. You can listen to music, watch movies and even TV shows without any extra cost.

Pros: Nice Avianca flight crews and ground crews on all three flights. All flights on time. All seats had good leg room. Soft landings.
Cons: I didn't know where I should go after Customs in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I was connecting to a domestic flight to Goiania, Brazil, so I needed to drop off my checked bag somewhere to be sent to the plane's cargo. I went to the check-in desk for Avianca, and then they pointed me to the nearby bag drop-off area, which had a 45-minute line. The time wasn't too important for me in that I made it to boarding 25 minutes before the flight--the part that would have been better would be to have on the itinerary that I go to the Avianca check-in/bag drop-off area in Terminal 2 after Customs.

Later on the "supervisor" told us that some of the bags were left on the road and we had to wait until a belt was available and (ii) in the maintenance of the plane in regards with the seat equipment.

Pros: The people were friendly and professional. Everything was as expected. The ticket cost was about 200.00 more dollars than the other discount carriers but they did not include any baggage. When I compared apples to apples and looked at the 2 bags I wanted to check the price was within 20 dollars ant the Copa flight was at a better time. The Copa flights had food service and the meal was good, chicken and pasta. Would it have been worth 10.00 at the airport? Yes it would have been. 1 meal each way would more than make up the difference. All in all the flight worked out to be at a better time with friendlier service and an equal or better value for my total cost. The flights were on time. Nicely done.

They gave away our seats, told us we would not get on, would not get our baggage and would not get put up in a hotel. Because of the NBA draft - had to travel 60 miles to New Jersey for a hotel. Lost a day, lost 2 tours, endured additional hotel costs...and the attendant made it clear she was on overtime and we just needed to move on. American Airlines is too big and consolidation of airlines has not been good for the public.

We were booked on a flight that was delayed, turned out there was a flight about to depart (it had been delayed 2.5hrs due to weather), but was departing prior to our reg scheduled flight so they put us on standby. No doubt the crew was also columbus based and eager to get they did. Couldn’t be more pleased to get home

Cons: There was NO ROOM for my legs when the man in front of me reclined his seat. I could not work on my laptop because it was such a ridiculously tight fit. I am 5'9" tall, and i have never been so cramped on an airplane.

Pros: The flight attendant was fantastic. Very friendly, very helpful, checking on all the passengers. He even loaned his phone charger to one passenger. It was a full flight and he was working hard, but had a smile on his face the entire time. Give him a raise!
Cons: the airplane was absolutely freezing. It was so cold, you could actually see the air blowing (like in winter). There's no need for that. Somehow European airlines manage not to freeze out all their passengers. It was less than a two hour flight but felt like an eternity because it was so uncomfortable. Seat size - this is absolutely the smallest it can/should go. I am pretty skinny, but even I'm running out of room and the seat backs could be made a bit more comfortable. Not only is there almost no recline, but the way they are constructed - they actually push my head forward - not made for short people.

Cons: They had no record of this portion of my trip, after a few people checked they found the Chicago to Ammon part so they added me onto a flight from Washington to Chicago. All should of went well from there but they sent me to the wrong gate. Luckily I just made it to the correct gate for boarding. Upon arriving at Chicago there was no one available to provide information on how to get to Royal Jordanian gates. Also on my AA portion of my flight coming into The U S in New York the flight was cancelled and I was told the next flight Available was next day (18hr delay) at the other NY airport. I had to have someone drive from D.C. (My destination) to pick me up

Cons: With checking my luggage my bag fee was waived a total of seven times this trip because I'm a military wife to see my husband overseas who is serving a year in Saudi Arabi except this past time on October 2nd at DCA airport. Spoke with the Supervisor Ralph who stated it was against policy. How stringent is this policy if it was waived seven times previously? Policy needs to be reviewed with entire staff. I will no longer use American Airlines because their military convenience and policies no longer seem to favor the military. My husband also after speaking with him will also no longer use your airline including all his members he overseas when they return after their year tour.

Cons: I thought I was booking an Alaska Airlines flight. I booked on Alaska Airlines website. I picked seats. I missed the part in the email I received later saying I didn't have seats. I never received a check in notification email. It took forever to check in at the airport because the the kiosk took a while to pull up my reservation after asking for additional information. I got stuck with middle seats on 5 hour plus flights when I had actually checked to confirm I could still select a window seat before I booked and did indeed select window seats when I booked.

Why pay profit sharing to employees if they still are treating people badly. Overall it was an ok flight, I wouldn't go out of my way to fly them, just if they are the cheapest, because their attitude towards paying customers is horrible. I wish I could return the favor to them one day, I bet they wouldn't like it very much.

The passengers in front were turning around while the passengers behind were laughing. It was excessive and inappropriate. The passengers behind him had tray tables down and video games out and when she addressed them it was in a respectful manner, but when addressing my husband, it was disrespectful and unprofessional. Seemed to be discrimination as she did not treat any other passengers like this. I wish I would have captured this on video to share with American Airlines as I do not think they would condone her behavior. Her name was Marlene and she needs additional training regarding customer service.
