When we checked in - they asked us to both check in our carry on luggage. The reason why is because they said they don’t think they have enough space for our carry ons. I told the crew member checking us in that other people that was checking in with the same hand carry size luggage with us had no problems taking it with them. For being about to be on a 17 HOUR FLIGHT we should be ALLOWED to have our carry ons with us! We take carry ons for that reason! I had to argue and prove my case to the crew member to atleast keep 1 carry on with us. I thought that was an UNACCEPTABLE reason for us to check in a carry on luggage when we had a 17 hour travel time ahead of us. Not a happy costumer here."

Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable seating, great in-flight entertainment, although I have the go-go in-flight data/entertainment plan with t-mobile (highly recommended), the flight included a decent selection of movies, television programs, etc. The food far exceeded typical "airline quality," even for an international flight - and included a fabulous little snack box with locally sourced gourmet and specialty items such as chocolate from Belgium, fine cheeses from France, and crackers from England. Drinks = gratis, and crew was exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make flight as pleasant as possible."

Cons: "The entire experience with Aer Lingus from Venice to Dublin was just plain bad. Firstly, we were never able to check in online. From the 30 hour check in notice through to the time of arrival at the airport, we were never able to check in online. We arrived at the Venice airport more than 2 hours before our flight time. We saw on the outside board where to go to check in, but when we got there we were told that was not the correct spot (which we had decided would be likely due to the lack of signage/conflicting signage). Someone tracked down that we should be at different line (of 2 check-in desks) which had no signage for Aer Lingus. We were in line for over 45 minutes with only 4 families ahead of us to be checked in. The line behind us was horrendously long and we knew they'd either delay the flight or no one would make it. We were right. Our flight ended up being delayed for well over an hour due to the late arrival of the plane, and moreso the "challenges incurred during check in" for a majority of the passengers (many of whom we noticed were also there well in advance of 2 hours before the flight). Once on board things were generally fine until we realized that we would have to pay for water onboard. That could be my bad for not realizing discount airlines really meant we're not even going to provide complimentary tap water. That boggles my mind when the need for hydration on planes is common knowledge. This flight leg was the worst of my entire trip though none of my trip was particularly enjoyable, and I will not fly with Aer Lingus again."

We experienced crazy long lines for: the bus between terminals, immigration passport review; passport review before the metal detector, and detailed tests on permitted volumes of shampo, and toothpaste. The agent forced me to check a normally permitted carryon bag, then the bags took 45 minutes to be placed on the turnstile after the flight. Not an efficient airport."

I know that British Airways has a policy regarding bags in overhead bins that basically says 'if you cannot lift your bag into the overhead bin un-assisted, you must check your bag.' My husband and I are both experienced hikers, we lifted our packs unassisted on the last plane, yet they forced us to check our bags. I'm glad our bags made it to the UK, but this is literally the first time I've checked a bag and had it arrive. Also, the boarding passes sent to me on my phone were rejected by almost every security/boarding check. This is after BA supposedly fixed their error with the previous boarding passes. Overall not pleased with the experience but glad I paid under $300 for my ticket."

We had no phone or way to get ahold of anyone. Praise God he waited over an hour for us to arrive. Our flight was not posted on the baggage carousel so we were running around trying to find our bags. We found them accidently. They had probably taken our flight off of there since it took so long to go through customs. I asked a customer service rep and she rudly replied to look at the sign...NO HELP! I like your Airline and the service you have on board, however, the Airports in Heathrow and Venice were horrible. The Airports need to work in conjunction better with the Airlines to make these transitions better."

The flight to Glasgow also took of late arriving at 2310 local. Europecar were great hired a Mercedes E220 with a gps to complete the journey to Edinburgh, at a cost of 600GBP for 3 1/2 days including fuel. Arrived 8hrs late, seriously affecting sleep patterns and ruining an already tight schedule. BA could have met us exiting ac from LAS in T5 explained situation, new boarding cards etc, total fail, should have booked flight with Lufthansa to EDI via Frankfurt for 600USD less. BA Staff comments such as " I'm sorry I haven't been trained for this situation, I can't help you after 40 minutes" etc Total lack of staff available and able to assist, super poor knowledge, massive queues not moving."
