Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Organized gate"
Cons: "Information on delay boarding"
Pros: "Crew good. Good tv/ movie choices."
Cons: "Late check in and takeoff because cleaning crew didn’t show up on time. Late landing because plane below was cleared to take off late. Didn’t receive instructional video until after takeoff because TVs wouldn’t work at first. Uncomfortable seating."
Pros: "It was on time"
Cons: "Snacks from Lax to Denver"
Cons: "I hated that the flight was about 90 minutes LATE which made me almost miss my next flight (had I not jogged an entire airport, I would have)"
Pros: "Great cabin attendant!"
Cons: "Air conditioning on my feet got old."
Cons: "I didn't go on my trip. My course in SF was cancelled and United would n't refund my money or change the dates for my trips because of there basic economy package. They have 3 different economy packages and the economy basic doesn't get refunds and you can't change the flights if needed. It feels like they are banking on increasing there ROI with this basic economy ticket which is 40 -60 dollars cheaper than the next economy package. Intuitively they know people will pick that, but if something comes up the customer is screwed."
Cons: "I didn’t need a second breakfast at 10am, I’d much protégée- a better lunch."
Cons: "Got delayed big time."
Cons: "Was charged $150 for a lap child traveling from us to Mexico. Did not expect this since we called prior to the flight To ask of any fees."
Cons: "Seats uncomfortable, crew rude to other passengers"
Cons: "The crew was very rude, I was told I had to store my purse, the person next to me wouldn't store the carry on baggage, I needed to take scheduled medicine in flight, I couldn't as my purse was stowed. I was delayed for over and hour and a half after arriving. I had to stop and eat in the airport. With chronic health issues addressed this way I will probably not use United again."
Pros: "Helpful staff and smooth flight. No connections or Hassels"
Cons: "Snacks"
Pros: "Nothing unusual every was smooth"
Cons: "Not applicable"
Pros: "The check in staff was super friendly"
Cons: "In flight entertainment didn't work and the flight was very bumpy."
Pros: "Great crew, boarding process, drink service"
Cons: "No entertainment or food served on flight for free"
Cons: "Room for sitting."
Pros: "They helped get me rerouted."
Cons: "It seems to be a common problem plaguing United. Last flight was 4 hours delayed. This time it was last minute notification of 2 hour delays that would automatically make a connection be missed. Delayed the whole trip by several hours. Getting tiered of constant problems with United."
Pros: "Short flights"
Cons: "Chilly"
Cons: "Mechanical delay in fargo caused me to miss my connecting flight to Eugene by 5 minutes. Got to Denver airport asked the gate guy to call my connecting flight to see if they could hold the door for me, he said you got 10 mins go. I run 30 gates and the door just closed. I am 25 weeks preg so my running time is slower then normal. Then they rebooked me on a flight that had an additional connect and arrived 4 hours later then expected. By the time I got to my new flight gate- it was delayed so would miss my next connecting flight. Long story short it's 3 hours past when I was suppose to leave and settled for s flight to PDX tonight getting in at midnight. My friend From eugue is picking me up in Portland tomorrow. It has been an unsuccessful flight. Almost cancelled and wMechanical delay in fargo caused me to miss my connecting flight to Eugene by 5 minutes. Cons: "That it was direct from San Antonio to Brownsville. The Jet from Houston to Brownsville was very small."
Cons: "No one could get their story straight and actually lied! I was sent a text (I was already at the airport) that the flight would be delayed due to "aircraft maintenance". Not true in the least bit. Then when we finally landed in Denver (nearly every person on that flight missed their connecting flights) we were told the system said the delay was "due to weather". Another lie. Then they announced there would be gate agents to meet us when we got off the plane to assist with connecting flights. First gate agent said "I have no information you have to go to gate 56". The person at gate 56 said "I don't open for another 15 minutes so you have to go to gate 39"! The real story? They made us change gates 5 times in Fargo! The gate attendant was using the "F-bomb"! It wasn't aircraft maintenance or the weather. They couldn't get the walkway to work! In the end, we still left from the original gate and had to walk outside on the tarmac to board the plane. Why didn't they just opt for that to begin with and avoid all the missed flights? My measly voucher isn't nearly enough compensation and if United ever expects me to fly with them again I am expecting a full refund (as other passengers received- I witnessed the manager in Denver authorize a full refund for another passenger but only offered me $50)"
Pros: "The staff and crew were great."
Cons: "I flew round trip to Bangkok from Chicago last year for $460. Why does one way from Fargo N.D. To Green Bay, WI cost $480?! My flight said it was late on the screen (6:40) but actually flew on time. I think a kid missed his flight because of it. My connecting flight in Chicago was way too tight because of a LONG delay waiting to unboard. Had to run, yes run through ORD to get to terminal 2 from 1 within minutes to catch my flight. It was too stressfu and expensive."
Pros: "Everything"
Cons: "Nothing"
Cons: "United sucked on this leg. Flight never should have left Chicago. We were diverted to Oklahoma City, where United abandoned us. System was unresponsive and noone could override the system. Folks at the counter could not cancel the diverted flight, so United was not able to rebook us on other flights. This was at midnight to 2:00 am. I stayed at the airport to catch a 5:00 am flight to Houston, then to Omaha, then had to rent a car to get the rest of the way. United lied to us about what was happening to us several times. Then abandoned us when the pilots timed out."
Cons: "One of the fight attendants answered no to moving to an empty seat saying it was an Economy Plus seat but in less than 3 minutes another passenger freely occupied that seat. Really?"
Cons: "Weather in Lincoln canceled the flight the night I was supposed to leave so I had to sleep in the airport. With that being said the flight and crew when I finally left to Lincoln were great."
Cons: "That was the worst travel experience of my life. All flights were delayed, customer service was rude, made me sleep on the floor in the airport, recieved no compensation. A 6 hour flight took 36 hours"
Cons: "Lines, delays, at least the agent I called while in line was helpful."
Cons: "•Security was very weird and aggressive towards me. I was "acting suspiciously"...it was my first flight alone and I was confused on where to go •Sat on runway for 30 mins after we landed •Super small plane, barely any room to walk on/off plane"
Pros: "Great service and food"
Pros: "Small plane"
Pros: "iwheelchair and cart to get to my plane because of a knee injuryhad a wheelchair or cart to get me through the airport"
Pros: "That it ended."
Cons: "Sitting between two large people, with no room to even put my shoulders back, it was a miserable 3 and a half hour flight. Back support was horrible as well. Wish it at least had some TVs to help pass the time, but no such luck. Would not recommend United."
Pros: "People were nice."
Cons: "Nice and calm."
Cons: "Had a passenger next to me who kept trying to elbow me the arm rest when I was sleeping."
Pros: "That I eventually arrived at my destination. The pilot on the Newark to Chicago segment providing entertainment as an apology for the delay of leaving. The television at the gates while waiting for my very late plane in O'Hare."
Cons: "The understaffed check-in at EWR. The late departure from EWR. The missed connection at ORD. The very late departure from ORD. My luggage was sent to the wrong airport."
Pros: "The window seat and being able to sleep a little. Smaller plane but a little more room."
Cons: "The ranch mix isn't exactly a breakfast item but at least they tried to feed us something other than just drinks."
Pros: "Everything really was superb. Food rated low because of a measly biscuit on a 6 hour flight. Entertainment rated low because I even had to pay to gain access to the flight tracker. And, as far as airlines go, comfort should've been 5 stars, but I really could have used a back pillow. Or even a back pillow option (had I asked an attendant - all of whom were awesome). PS. Kayak's regular emails kept me unusually updated on flight progress and their communication was the main factor in my decision to complete this survey."
Pros: "The flight attendant worked very hard to keep everyone satisfied as she found seats together for a family of three small children and mother just as the passengers were settling in."
Cons: "The seating is very tight and uncomfortable in this plane."
Cons: "Everything - seemed like the airline staff had no concern about passengers being delayed 3 hours arriving around 4 am in the morning - we paid for an afternoon flight and ended up with a red eye - Least you coils do is refund us the fair difference and pay for transportation that we would not have had to pay had the flight been on time and our families would have been able to pick us up"
Cons: "I Purchased 2 round trip tickets for myself and my son. My son had a change of plans and purchased another one way ticket to leave a week earlier. So his first leg of my purchase was not used. They resold that seat on May 27. So they made money Twice on that seat. Then when we checked in to return on 15 June. We were told his ticket had been cancelled and I had to purchase another ticket for his return. The flight was NOT sold out. My entire row of seats was empty. So I paid for 2 seats for the same flight. This is theft, coming and going and I am calling my lawyer!"
Pros: "Attendants handled everything well!"
Pros: "Flight itself was fine. Major delay resulted in arriving one day later than planned, additional transportation cost, unplanned, and unplanned parking fees. No travel voucher was offered and when I asked was told it was not possible to issue a travel voucher."
Pros: "I had no issues during my flight. Overall, the trip from Tamuning to Honolulu was quite enjoyable."
Cons: "None."
Cons: "No place to charge your phone Location"
Cons: "Boarded a full flight without the APU working. It was warm in Denver that evening. It was repaired. I think we could have waited it out in the terminal."
Cons: "Barely any leg room for even someone who is 5'2"."
Cons: "They boarded the plane when they knew they had mechanical issues. Passengers then sat on a hot plane at the terminal for almost 2 hours before departing."
Pros: "Quick board. Nice attendant who covered whole plane. Even though the plane was older and had less seats, the seats had more room than the last flight.Made me wish I always had an older plane if it meant more room!"
Cons: "Everything went great. Plane was at opposite end of airport, but that's just an unlucky coincidence."
