But they tell you, you have to make it there on your own. Another CRAZY information is that I thought at the very least the baggage will be transferred. But nope! You have to pick up the baggage and ride the train across town to the other station. Whoever made this itinerary should be really fired and no longer work at this company. You take a great airline and make the experience so bad."

Seats are unexpectedly big and very comfortable together with functional well designed pockets beside the screen, where I could put my personal items. New and clean cabin."

The one that was suppose to fly out at 12:50 on 1/6/18 delayed until 17:25 (with acceptable communication the first delay) but then later delayed till 00:10 after I’ve already arrived at the airport early for the 17:25 departure. The screens with arrivals and departures posted that Checkin was open but there was no JAL staff to answer questions. Then getting an update “maybe” the 00:10 flight is cancelled? What is maybe cancelled and JALs phone messege still said the flight would depart at 00:10. So I go back to JFK because after all “maybe” isnt a definitive and according to all the direct JAL sources the flight is suppose to depart, I get to JFK the second time only to be given a printout saying the flight is cancelled with no rebooking, and to call for assistance. The same number is been calling for hours trying to get answers. coukdnt reschedules because I’m calling outside of business hours! I spent $200 on cab rides going back and forth to JFK to go nowhere, get no apology, no new flight booking, and no reimbursement for transportation."

Those website are very practical to look for flights but unless they give you the company direct you are better off switching to company site and book it there. Before the flight landed, the head flight attendant came to greet every passenger and personally thanked them for choosing JAL. I've flown on JAL several times and thus had never happened so I was pleasantly surprised."

Given it is a Japanese airline and all, it is normal for them to be Japanese-centric. We had an a-hole sitting in front of us at 51F during our flight to Narita and he was trying hard to argue with us in English, and even told us to move to another seat. When I had the flight attendant (her name is Sako on flight JL736 on Jul 26) over to discuss (in English) she went to the guy in front of us and started apologizing to him. For what??? She then came back to us speaking in Japanese and brushed the issue away. Sorry, no this was not acceptable, even though my fiance was okay with the situation."

The non vegetarians got a full plate of croissant, cheese, fruit and jams. When I asked for butter I got no response. I asked three times before I could get some butter as I do not eat margarine. Lunch was wilted and slimy lettuce and tired fruit for dessert. The main meal itself was delicious but I was hungry the whole flight due to the small helping.. Another small but slightly fresher role and margarine again. Next to the non vegetarian meal there was less than half the food. It was very disappointing."

There was very little legroom even though these were sold as first class seats. The plane was old and dirty, the armrests were sticky."

Pros: "Friendly and helpful crew. Drinks and snacks were nice and were given in larger portions than some other airlines I've flown."
Cons: "The seats were not comfortable. I was in general boarding but I was still disappointed with the seats. Hard to stay comfortable during a 3 hour flight. Cabin temperature was a bit cool for my liking."
