The lines for non on line check in went faster then the on-line and they have four times more people that was in the on-line checked in. In flight, the seat felt liked you're sitting on a rock after a couple of hours. I'm an aircraft mechanic who used to be a flyer with 7,000 flying hours."

However the gentleman in front of me had his seat back, so I was fairly uncomfortable for most of the 13 hour flight."
Cons: "Check in crew in Lahore ganged up against me and wanted to extort £200 for taking me laptop on board along with my hand carry. No where in the world has an airline ever asked me for this, and I fly a fair bit. Since I didn't allow them to extort me, they forced me to throw away my brand new Delsey hand carry at the airport. I had no cover as they threatened to if load my luggage and not let me fly home. Not a 5 start airline from any angle. Will never use Qatar again!!! This was my first and last flight with them."
Cons: "I have flown previously with Qatar and was not so impressed. Everything was great this trip up until my return to the United States. I should have suspected a problem when I was requested to change seat in order to assist a family who were in separate seats. Moving was difficult as the plane was being loaded. I managed to get to the seat offered to find someone sitting in it. To top it off the individual was wearing a surgical mask and carrying a large immigration bag. I requested a seat forward but I was denied and I later saw other passengers moved forward to seats that I was denied. If I had known that the flight would have been full of possibility sick immigrants I would have chosen another flight or airline. At certain times the smells were very bad. I felt as a ff member I should have been treated better or been made aware of possible health risks."

Cons: "First of all I have tons of complaints regarding the airport at Istanbul. They have a poorly managed airport and it was so crowded. The cafeteria and places to eat around in the airport were horrendously expensive and they didn't have services like wifi(had to buy it for $8 an hour and it sucked) and drinking water. As per Turkish airlines, the staff in the airport were poorly equipped to deal with emergency situations such as snow. I was flying during the snowstorm and wasn't expecting my journey to be easy. But they should have increased their resources to help people out in such cases.Their help desk was crowded with almost 500+ of people all the time and they only had 2 people to answer their queries. Also, the staff couldn't understand English properly and seemed irritated when I was trying to explain things in English. I had to stand an hour on a line to get my temporary visa issued only to be referred to another line (yes! i waited for an hour to get to the desk and was told to go and sit in another effing line). It was also because most of the signs/boards in the area were written in Turkish only and I didn't know what they were saying. I had to pay for my own hotel during my transit because the line for the hotels was almost two miles long. And when I arrived at my destination, both my luggage went missing. The crew on board were nice and helping people. I do not blame my bad travel experience entirely on Turkish airlines however, the airport and airlines both are not prepared to deal with situations that are unexpected. I also realize the snow storm was the main factor behind everything however any airlines that boasts itself to be a top class international airlines should have means and resources to manage(at least try) their passengers and airport during any situation. No matter what I am never flying with Turkish airlines again."

Cons: "The food was not up to standard this flight, mostly passable, but our pasta inexplicably tasted chlorinated, as if the noodles had ben boiled in pool water. It's a mild complaint, though. Plane food isn't always sterling. The true problem, unfortunately, was in the form of other passengers. Despite having an excess of available space to stretch out, our seats were surrounded by utterly out-of-control children. Crying babies is understandable, it can't be helped, but if your children are running up and down the aisles [including during the landing], sitting on other passengers [myself in particular], and lying down in the aisle to sleep [and the flight attendant had to ask multiple people whose child that one was because no one wanted to own up, apparently] they have no business being on a plane. I don't even care about the annoyance at this point, their behaviour was inherently unsafe and the parents just didn't care."

Cons: "The level of service by the cabin crew was really disappointing. One of the flight attendants asked me to switch seats with the woman seated next to me (although I had pre-selected my seat). I obliged, although I think that the cabin crew and/or gate agents should have given more thought to giving her a better seat assignment, like a bulkhead seat. This woman was uncommonly large with mobility problems, so it was difficult for me to get up when I wanted to. The entertainment system malfunctioned about an hour into the flight, and I had to flag down a cabin crew member on 3 separate occasions to ask them to look into it. No one ever bothered to follow up or attempt to resolve the problem. To make matters worse, the entertainment system is connected to the entire electrical system, so I couldn't use the "call cabin crew" button, or the overhead light - meaning I was stuck in the dark for HOURS. Only after I demanded to be given another seat did anyone do anything, and with zero apologies."

They themselves said it was new to them and they did not fully grasp how it worked and they did not know why it did not accept me. SOFTWARE PEOPLE BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD."

I was told no better seat(s) was available. However, a half hour before the flight was boarded several announcements were made regarding all the upgrades that were available. Liars annoy me."

The entertaining things on the individual screens also helped make the long periods of sitting more manageable for young and old."

Original estimates were an hour, but it ended up being 3 hours. We stayed onboard which was probably best in this case - but having been trapped by United on a flight many years ago from 4 pm until midnight with 3 small children and then told to come back at 7 am the next day - I am very wary of the airline now and actually drive from Washington to Chicago as we could have done that in the time they trapped us! This flight was practically empty however, so unlike many transatlantic flights, we could spread out and were more comfortable than usual. So that was lucky for United otherwise my scores might have been a LOT worse! Also, we hadn't eaten, figuring that we would eat dinner on the flight. So after 3 hours we were a bit peckish! The crew came around with a cookie and water. Really think that might have been a little more especially considering the flight had so few passengers. So we arrived back in DC just about 10 pm and, after clearing customs and getting bags, were home to Arlington about midnight - 5 am our time! Given the conditions and circumstances, the crew did a good job. I would like to think that Austrian Airlines would have some input with United. The outbound daytime flight from Washington to London had been simply terrific with a wonderful crew - new to the route I think. They gave as pointers as to what we were seeing out the window, which we always appreciate. Just as my daughter wondered what we were seeing out the window, the captain would tell us. So in short, the outbound flight was in a different league to the return flight. But that's down to United and not Austrian Airlines. And these things happen and I'm glad we didn't have to change planes or make other plans."

Had a bitter experience with RJ, and had the challenge to login to account no information about what went wrong and not being able to select the food option after check-in flight they don't have any vegetarian food option on the flight, and they told us to have to select the food option before boarding :( i had the challenge of login into my account, with explaining all the details to crew members they told they don't have any vegetarian food to serve for my entire family throughout the journey and my baggage does not arrive to the destination on time. Overall its very bad experience for my entire family

My first seat assignment had to be changed, because the man set to be sitting next to me began murmuring and cursing when he found out that I was to be next to him. My second seat assignment had me sitting in front of a man, who angrily refused to let me recline my seat at all, because it would crowd his leg space. Therefore I had to sit perfectly straight for all 13 hours of the flight. There were no other aisle seats for me to switch to. Most airlines offer eye shades and earplugs for the long haul flights. Not this one. Both were needed on this rather noise, chaotic flight. I guess you get what you pay for ... the cheap fare is not worth it. I don't intend to fly this airline again."

Prior to check in and during check in, I was informed that I was not able to select our seats, and that we would just have to arrange seating ourselves once we were on the plane!! A week prior to leaving Amman my husband called rj and talked to a representative who changed our seats."

I verified with my company and the travel agent and they advised that RJ did not contact them at all. The irony is that I am an RJ Royal Plus Gold Frequent flyer member and RJ has all my contacts details and send me emails and messages all the time, but they fail to alert me at such critical and urgent situation. Most annoying that the ground staff did not even apologize for me and the other passengers specially the European old man in a wheelchair. Instead of arriving Amman at a civilized 19:30 we arrived the nest day at 04:00 next morning. Big blunder Royal Jordanian."
