Cons: "The flight was delayed by 15 minutes. We had well over an hour to go have dinner, so we did. While we were gone, they moved our flight to another gate and left no sign behind-just an empty gate. Nobody, including AA staff at another counter would tell us whether we missed our flight. A passenger getting on another flight overheard us and told us what happened. When we found the right gate, I told the attendant that they should have left a notice on the digital board at the previous gate. He became very effeminate and gave me a piece of his mind, since he had "personally" made the announcement. It didn't matter to him that we weren't there to hear it. That was our problem. The flight was delayed even longer after we boarded because of a fuel gauge issue, and when a few passengers moved about to use the restroom or get belongings out of their luggage, the female attendant on board scolded everyone like school children. We finally got home, an hour and a half late."

Cons: "I arrived at the airport 2 hours before my flight as suggested (especially during busy summer travel), boarded the plane, and waited on the plane for about 55 minutes for 4 people who were late to make the flight. This was announced to us as we sat down. I've only ever been late once on a flight (as a teenager) and the plane was still at the terminal but the gate was closed.... I was told there was no way they were opening the doors for me. Since then, I make it a point to be early and if necessary, have plenty of time between connections because of delays. I was shocked waiting almost the same time as the length of the flight for a few people who were late. They could have been placed on a later flight (I saw there were plenty of flights). Also, why trouble the majority of travelers for a small minority? I haven't flown American in a while because of other past experiences and spent a lot of time looking at delay history for this particular flight before giving AA another try. I am once again reminded of why I avoid traveling AA and why other people speak poorly of it. PS In the future, give travelers timely, honest updates so that people aren't siting in their seats staring at the door for an hour waiting for someone to walk in so we can take off. I don't know who these people were, how they were connected, and what kind of money they paid you guys but it was all around unprofessional. I know I wasn't the only unhappy traveler. Please get your act together American, you used to be great."

Cons: "The 7:00 flight was delayed for an hour and then delayed for another 2. Meanwhile, the 8:00 flight was called for boarding. It was very frustrating. Those of us who got in line quickly were able to fly standby on the 8:00 flight. I felt the airline did not treat us honestly. I believe the reasons for the delays were known long before the delays were communicated to passengers. (For example, there was a new delay announcement at 8:00 for a flight scheduled to leave at 7:58). Had we been informed earlier, people could have made alternate plans if they wanted to do so (e.g. Rent a car or reschedule for the next day.)"

Cons: "Even with being checked in, the line was so long to check bags, it took over an hour. I had to run to catch my flight. Several people missed their flight. It was an 8 hour flight, with cramped seating, no internet, no TV. They ran out of meals with exception of vegetarian."

Cons: "Booked Brittish Air. Got switched to American. Have flown both in the past & would NOT have chosen American. Now, we will not choose Brittish Air either, as we can't be sure we are really going to get the high quality of Brittish air or substandard American Airlines."

Cons: "When we got off the plane in LA from Sydney they told us our flight to Boston was cancelled, and the next avail option home was in 12 hours. We spent two hours with them and on the phone trying to work out different options to get home sooner, when they brought the flight back again, cancelled it again and then eventually brought it back. The customer service agent on the phone said the flight was on, while the agent on the ground said it was cancelled. They were all confused. Caused an unnecessary amount of stress and work. Would make me think twice about ever flying with American again"

As a result, our (2) originally selected, opposing seats on the aisle were not available without a fight--which we declined to enter into--and settled instead for an aisle seat and an adjacent center seat."

Cons: "Pandamonium boarding process. If you're traveling with elderly, you need to pay for priority boarding to help them get on the plane at a pace they can sustain. There was a bad sewage smell on the plane. No in-flight entertainment, not even music. Very unfriendly gate agents; won't even acknowledge your alive as they take your boarding pass. I hate flying American Airlines. Flying is lousy these days. American takes it to a new level."

Many people were getting very upset with the crew and calling customer service. I felt very bad feeling f the crew and many people who needed to be in Chicago when they promised for us to get there. It was upsetting, just tried to make lemonade out of lemons."

Oh and $45 per checked bag, nice touch. Avoid if possible."

This was ofcourse despite me having only a person item and having prepped in order to not have the slightest delay with TSA. I missed all my apartment viewings because of this and an additional flight delay with the replacement flight I purchased. This rendered my trip absolutely useless and an extra cost because I arrived after hours to my car rental and lost my reservation. If I buy a flight, why can't I stand? IF I CANNOT STAND WHY AM I PURCHASING A SEAT SEPERATELY???"

Cons: "I charged the airfare, thinking that would be all, like other airlines. Then I found out they charge for luggage. THEN I found out they charge me for a seat... on the flight I already paid for. Boarding was disorganized, seats were thin padding on plastic, quite uncomfortable. I also had to clean crumbs and trash off my seat before settling in. They charge you 2.99 each for water and airline peanuts; i didn't partake. they only gave me one boarding pass and when I boarded the plane, they said that is was the flight to Denver and then they were continuing on to Columbus. I assumed this meant I stayed on the plane when we landed in Denver, but no, they informed me the plane was then going to Cedar Rapids. I had no second boarding pass or gate number, so I asked the attendant. She took forever to help me, looking up my info for a minute and then talking to the other attendants and passing out papers to the boarding crew before acknowledging me again. Twenty minutes later, I had my gate, which I barely made to board in time for flight takeoff. Overall, the process was stressful, uncomfortable, and more expensive than if I had purchased a flight from Delta, Southwest, or Alaska. (All airlines I have flown and been happy with. Delta had a missed layover once and completely put me up for the night and was very helpful through the whole affair.) All said and done, I will not be flying Frontier again."

I was within the 10 min timeframe because I returned back to the gate at 5:34 am and the flight was scheduled to depart at 5:45 am. The plane/crew/passengers were still sitting at the gate so it was an inconvenience."

One or the other please, but not both! 3) Understand that all airlines charge for food these days, but water? Really?"
