Far better than last return flight we had when the flight was delayed due to technical error and we missed our connection flight with no initial support from Airlink. This time thankfully all went well and will use again.
This was an excellent flight with great crew and a full complement service including a sandwich, a drink from the bar, tea, coffee or water with the meal and then a further bar service.
I can't understand how the priority boarding queue has so many people standing in it. I was travelling business class and arrived 40 minutes before boarding time and there we about 25 people in the queue ahead of me?
Great flight, excellent service comfortable plane. No entertainment available on the flight but it was only a 3 hour flight.
Delayed boarding... we were kept standing in the bus for too long... the bus was packed and smelling people!!! As if it's not enough,when we finally came off the bus, we had to wait again standing in the sun waiting to board..
Our flight from Kasane to JNB was delayed, which meant we missed our connection to CPT. The JNB ground staff were not helpful at first, initially insisting that our flight into JNB had been on time when in fact it was 40 minutes late. No domestic transfer staff available. So we had to wait another 3 hours for the next flight to CPT, then nearly 40 minutes for our luggage. Getting into our hotel after midnight was never in the itinerary. Airlink travel is not in our future!
+ There was a great small meal even on the short flight + They gave our kids a magazine that kept them busy because there were no screens - We didn't get a boarding pass for our infant in arms for the connecting flight

Airlink is my preferred airline for travel in South and Southern Africa. Upington international airport is small so check in and security screening is a breeze. Boarding is easy and the flight was good. Took a while to get the luggage at OR Tambo airport but all in all a nice experience

Boarded almost 48 hrs later after a scheduling change on my initial flight that was not communicated either by kayak of SAA.
I had booked a ticket for a 6:40 am departure in July 2025, but it appears there was a change to 8;00 am, which meant I missed my connecting flight which departed 10 m minutes before I landed. I had seen this problem only the previous day and try to resolve it with South African air, but they are very uncooperative on the phone. All they could say was all flights were fully booked and I ended up buying paying $2,000+ to secure a ticket for my family to ensure we got out of South Africa by Monday, which am currently pursuing with the airline.
Excellent airline. Even with 1.5 hour flight, we got light meal on board
South African Airways on the outside, a very old shabby Qatar Airways plane on the inside
The food options were beef or veg, No alternatives for Hindus, that don't eat beef...
Flight was on time Seats ( business class) are terrible- you keep on slipping down as it doesn’t lie flat Food service is like economy class. Meals ( still wrapped in plastic) are just dropped in front of you
On time flight; otherwise not impressed by the check- in- purchased business class and the aircraft was downgraded; no refund given for the difference. Told I could access the lounge due to the above and was questioned by the lounge check- in person who was not friendly
Flight was cancelled with no notification until I reached the check-in desk at the airport. I also got downgraded and they lost my luggage.

Unfortunately, the level of service provided fell significantly short of the standards I expected from your airline. I would like to highlight the following serious issues encountered during the journey: • Cabin Condition and Hygiene: The aircraft cabin was notably poorly maintained. The seating area was dirty, and there was a persistent, unpleasant odor throughout the flight, which made the environment very uncomfortable for passengers. • Inadequate Service: The overall level of service provided by the staff was unsatisfactory and did not reflect a professional passenger experience. • Baggage Loss: Upon arrival, I was informed that my luggage was lost. This is particularly distressing as it has caused significant personal inconvenience and disruption to my schedule. As a frequent traveler, I value reliability and a clean cabin environment. I request that you investigate these matters immediately, provide an update on the status of my missing baggage, and outline how you intend to compensate for these failures in service. The Boeing 737 MAX on this route, flown in the middle of the night, is an UTTER FAILURE for business travellers. The whole point of business travel is to arrive alert and recover from travel quickly, and this little aeroplane with its quarter recline uncomfortable business seats does nothing for that. It’s a small step up from economy in that you have decent legroom, but that’s it. Absolute margin at the cost of the traveller.
POSITIVES The hostesses were mostly pleasant, NEGATIVES The full flight wifi was horrible, hardly able to use it. My charger port was not working which made me use my neighbour's port which resulted in an accident which ruined her flight. During dinner, meat ran out when the cart got to us forcing us to eat vegetarian which was not great. We watched everyone around us eating meat. My wifi did not transfer to the second leg of my trip as they promised as they changed the plane. I was thrown off the window seat I booked for the 2nd leg of my journey as they changed planes, all done at my expense. This was not a cheap flight ($2600) which i hurriedly had to book to attend my mother's funeral who passed away suddenly. I was honestly disappointed with the whole saga as I heard Ethiopian Airlines was one of Africa's best.
Checking in wasn't organized, too many so-called diplomats were jumping line while everyone was waiting in line. They should have their own line not to impede on other passengers that was also waiting to be served. We all paid money and there should be no discrimination because everyone's money should have the same value diplomat or not! If they want to give diplomats some special treatment then let them create their own check in desk and not treat other passengers some that are (elderly, some with children, pregnant women) making them stand longer in line than necessary just because people are jumping line 😡
Food hardly ever changes Videos not often updated for often travel.
It was an old aircraft, stiff seats almost wooden chairs with thin cushions. Food was ok.
The boarding gate closed too early, I missed my flight and they knew I had checked in, they took off 30 minutes earlier without 4 passengers
Our entire flights luggage was lost, and still not found with no follow up regarding it. The chairs had no headrests, and leg room was mediocre. The drinks we all sugary with no sugar free alternative.
