Cons: "I was very disappointed with Kenya Airways on my recent round trip from Kigali to New York to visit family for Christmas. Due to a delay on my connecting flight from Kigali to Nairobi, I missed my flight to JFK and had to stay in Kenya for a full day, shortening my already brief trip. I do not know what caused this delay other than Kenya Airways staff having seemingly no urgency to get us off the ground. On my return flight to Kigali a delay attributed to “operations” increased my layover from 8 hours to 12 hours. On top of the scheduled delay we were delayed an additional hour because boarding did not begin when it should have. I was also less than impressed with the movie selection on the plane. I will not be flying with Kenya Airways again and now understand why they were the cheapest option!"

Pros: "This company obviously trains its employees to belittle and disregard customers. I have never dealt with a company so at fault for an issue and so utterly unwilling to make up for it. First, they cancel the first of our 3 flights to Delhi 18 hrs before it is to leave. The flight they replaced it with would leave us 10 min to make the connection. So we went to the counter and they told us they'd hold the plane, as did the stewardess on the flight. They lied. The plane left 10 min before we landed. We were stranded. Also, I got food poisoning from their food. They did nothing to help. They would not pay for the hotel we wanted, when we asked they rudely served everyone else they stranded first. The employee would not call his supervisor or give his name. The next morning i saw a doctor but the stomache infection was so bad i couldn't sit up or walk. The doctor wrote this on my clearance to fly document. I needed to get to India to get better medical help. We presented this to the kenya airlines agent and she would do nothing to help. She had business class reclining seats available but would not upgrade me. Even after everything this shitty airline has caused. Unbelievable. Every step along the way of this nightmare could have been made better, so much better, by some human decency but instead we got rude disregard."

Cons: "In a lot of airports, if a flight is delayed, the airline is aware and holds planes on the ground for a few mins if there are multiple people that will miss the connection. In this case, we were delayed for 2 hours, arrive to Nairobi and am at the gate 15 mins before and they sent me to customer service as the gate had just closed. More than 5 other people on the flight missed this common connection as well. Not only did KQ not have a system in place to work with other flights, the service area was completely swamped. People missed their connections because they couldn't get to the front in time to have a boarding pass printed or have a question answered. The staff were rude and didn't give eye contact or answer questions."

Cons: "One of our bags didn't make it. Also, the plane left late for some reason. We weren't sure why they didn't start letting us board sooner. Finally, the airport in Nairobi is dangerous when early morning planes arrive. Arriving passengers who are in transit are ushered down an escalator where they are pushed into one another because of a security line backup...yet the escalator just keeps bringing more people. This happened to us in Nairobi in the early morning of July 26 and again in the early morning of August 2. I feared someone would be trampled or hurt."
Pros: "Flying from Bangkok to Hong Kong, I didn't expect to be on an airline based out of Africa. Even though it was only an hour-long flight, it included in-flight entertainment and a full meal. The plane was a bit older, but comfortable, and the crew were very kind, friendly, and didn't rush the passengers. I hope I get the chance to fly on Kenya Airways again."

Cons: "With the exception of one male flight attendant who was friendly and professional, the Kenya airways flight attendants were surly, invompetent and unprofessional. One yelled at us for asking if we could get a vegetarian meal (on the advice of another Kenya airways flight attendant). Another only bothered to give water to the first 2/3 of the plane and then for some unknown reason simply stopped passing out water. All three of the Kenya airways fights were late but no one said so or why. I would avoid this airline at all costs."

Pros: "KQ is the best East African airline by far. The planes are newer and cleaner and the flight attendants really do make an effort to give a high-level of customer service. I've missed my transfer due to a weather delay before and was impressed with KQs attention to getting me overnight accommodation. It would be great if we could sort out the regular delays of KQ410 into Entebbe which directly impacts KQ411 back out to NBO. The regular delays are often due to weather but just as often due to scheduling or flight issues. Delaying that flight makes my transfers really tight and adds some stress to my experience, especially with the extra security level in Nairobi. If we could find a way to fast track transfers, that would be an improvement. Overall, KQ is the best, but please continue to find ways to be better."

Cons: "I was wrongly suspected of something in the security check at Kigali Int'l Airport and further screening stole my time to the point that I missed my flight! When I went to a Kenya Airway agent for assistance, I was advised to buy a new air ticket or pay a fee to have my flight changed, which I did and my flight was scheduled for the following day. The following day, the flight was delayed almost for two hours in Kigali and then 1.5 hours in Nairobi. Don't fly Kenya Airway! Their customer care service are terrible, their disability services very poor. Avoid this airline , please!"

My scooter was not brought up in Brussels or DC, I refused to leave the plane in DC until they finally brought it to plane. They sat me in row 38...I can only walk a few feet so the airline failed in every aspect...epuc fail. I will never fly Brussels airlines again."

Cons: "The staff for SN Brussles is very rude to Africans. They are super disrespectful and it is very obvious how tacist they are. It is uncomfortable flying witha stafflike that. Also our flight had electrical and engine problems at our first stop in Freetown. Once we landed in Monrovia, it took about 35mins for them to let us off the plane because the doors were not working and opening up. Once we finally got off the plane, it took a whole 2 hours for them to get our baggage e off the plane because spmething was wrong and they couldnot access the baggage to take it off. I am aware that planes can “fly with one engine”, but flying a plane with one engine along with it having electrical problems is not safe and A RISK! why take that risk of something bad happening, not only would lives of innocent people and their crew get lost, but that is a million dollar assest that could get lost and a PR nightmare. It is a shame they took that risk. They also dodnt tell us until we landed. Had I known before we took off at Freetown I would have gladly fot off and found another mode of transportation to get to my final destination. SN Brussels is know to send their sh*tty planes to Africa, because there are always problems with the planes heading to that continent. It is just another obvious proof of their racism."

Swiss airlines have emails to give you options on entertainment and everything else...follow their lead"

One flight attendent got upset or acted a little nasty because I asked her for another custom border slip. She said was going to bring one but I guess she forgot and an atleast 30 minutes to an hour went by till I asked her again and she got nasty. The same lady along with the other flight attendants snatched trash out peoples hands like they were diseased...and they had gloves on. When it came to entertainment they didnt have much variety. Unless the price for the flight is dirt cheap or below average I would choose to fly with them again other than that I'll go to another"

After a while, I had to take a medication and needed water so went to one of the crew in his station to ask for it, explaining the situation. He gave me some water, but pretty much shamed me in the process. He was saying it was hard for the crew to have to charge, but they were made to do it now, and what would it look like if other passengers saw him giving me the water and not charging?! OMG!"

Cons: "Our flight (operated by Air Canada) was delayed due to a control tower fire. Other flights seemed to have been delayed 1 or 2 hours, but ours was delayed 3.5 hours. That's not really the airline's fault, but it seems like they didn't want to communicate updates or give us any options for alternate flights. They also listed the delay at just under 3 hours, rather than the real 3.5 we were late leaving the gate (to avoid giving out vouchers, I suspect)."

Cons: "Received a text message that my flight back to the US was canceled. The first time I called Brussels Airlines customer service, I was offered only the same flight one or two days later. Phone support person was very unfriendly and unwilling to look at other options like booking me on another flight that same day."
