Cons: "I had a flight with a connection starting at 6 PM on a Monday. At 5 AM the day of the flight I received notification that the first flight would be delayed, making connection impossible, I was prompted to select another flight to arrive to my destination. I chose a flight with a connection staring at 7 PM. Upon getting on the first flight we began to prepare for takeoff. After about 30 minutes the pilot notified us that we would be delayed 40 minutes because we had nowhere to land at my connection airport. I realized at that point that I would possibly miss my connection, which was scheduled at 10:20 PM. However, I did arrive at the connection airport around 9:40 PM which would have given just enough time to arrive at the connection gate. Unfortunately, upon arrival to the connection airport the pilot informed us that we would have no gate to de-board the plane. The pilot stated that all connections "were aware of our delay" and gave us the gates for each connection. I got off the plane at 10:15 PM and ran to my connection gate arriving exactly at 10:20. The gate attendants informed me that my flight had left, my bags were on the way to my destination city and that I would need to spend the night in the connection city. The attendants, appeared disinterested and impolite but upon prompting provided us with a hotel voucher for the night. The next day we arrived at the airport 2 hours before boarding and waited at the gate. When it was near the time for departure we were informed that the plane had been downgraded and requests were made for some to give up their seats for a later flight or check carryon bags to make room for other passengers. While some lined up to give up their seats and bags, those who chose to remain on the original flight were forced to wait before boarding the plane. We were then told that we would have to wait until the pilot and crew arrived before boarding. Scheduled departure time was 5:46 PM but the time got pushed back until we boarded around 6:30, departure was rescheduled to 6:50 PM. We boarded the plane and waited for departure but a few minutes later the pilot informed us that "he just got here" and that there were mechanical problems that would cause further delay. After an hour we were informed that the plane was not able to fly and instructed to go to another gate for another plane. Departure time got rescheduled to 8:30 PM. The plane departed after 9 PM and arrived at 10:30 PM for a 5:46 PM scheduled departure."

Delta was of very little help in assisting us in making a connecting flight. They could have at least helped with travel arrangements and provided us with a little food, a pillow and a blanket as we waited in their terminal for the next flight on their airline which was a several hour wait. I understand these things happen but the passengers didn't cause the problem and Delta needs to take care of people better if they expect to earn repeat business."

We had to rebook everything pay almost twice as much for the plane fare, our Lodi g cost more and our trip was delayed for two weeks. Vyama is blaming us for spelling our name wrong and claimes that it’s our fault this happened because everything is automated. There saying they don’t touch anything that we enter into the booking but somehow everything they claim we entered is now in all capital letters and the space between our first name and middle name is now gone and all run together. The coustomer service number gets you to someone in India. I have tried to get this addressed four times now at first they tried to place the responsibility on the airlines now us and they have hung up on me twice. Kayak has been worthless, they also just pass the responsibility on to someone else. We will never use them again ant I intend to make sure that this mess is put out in social media to hopefully keep others from having their travel plans ruined by their flawed system."

Cons: "5 minutes until boarding at JFK we were told to transfer gates; upon arriving by shuttle to the new gate, passengers were informed the aircraft was downsized and 20 people needed to be bumped. I volunteered since I had a flexible schedule so Delta re-issued me a ticket at 9am JFK for a 10am flight out of La Guardia. I trusted them I'd make it in time and they said they called taxis for us so we left to go catch them. Actually, no taxis were to be found so we had to call our own and were significantly delayed. I was in the first group of 5 people to be re-issued and arrive at La Guardia. Everyone else bolted but my new boarding pass didn't work and they actually didn't properly re-issue my ticket as I had been booked as leg 3 of my international flight from Malaysia. After they called three different departments including China they were able to print my ticket at 9:54am so I sprinted through the security and to my gate and was able to somehow make the flight as they were closing the door. However probably 14 or so of the original bumped passengers definitely didn't make it."

I was super excited to finally get upgraded! Then the plane had problems we were then again delayed and had to deplane. We were told this would be a 2 hour delay. I proceeded to try an get on the next flight at 8:20 while asking about a window seat the lady told me I would have to pay an additional $19! Well I had already paid $50. So the nice lady put me on that flight after I had already asked for window seat. She put me in the middle seat! I get that planes have problems and flights are delayed! There was so much bad yesterday then good and I feel like delta should know. It's more and more bad everytime I fly! Please fix these problems!"

Eventually 2 people b3came annoyed enough to get off and take a $200 voucher (probably for another delayed flight.) so we were late taking off for that. At our destination there were clear sunn6 skies. Extra fuel was needed for that. So I was stuck in a seat the size of a child’s car seat for an extra 40 minutes? And when we could finally get off, my legs had fallen asleep ffrom being too squeezed in for that relatively short flight. When will the airlines focus on the passengers’ safety & comfort and not on excessive profits?"
Cons: "on a 5+ hour flight, that was diverted back to the originating airport due to a passenger who had extreme DTs from excessive drinking the night before, and made the flight return, American offered NO compensation AND the aircraft was so old, there were NO back seat monitors NOR any means to charge our electrical devices!!!"

Cons: "I am very disappointed with my flight this morning on American Airlines 1533. The crew did an excellent job. The issue, however, is the media AA chose to play at 8:30am. The NBC show that was playing on every overhead TV on the flight featured a woman being sexually assaulted by a man, someone being bludgeoned with a piece a wood until they lay unconscience in a pool of blood, and woman with a gun to her head as she’s being yelled at by multiple men. I was flying with my three year old son. Why on earth is it necessary to show this tv show (or any show that has mature/adult ratings) on a flight that is obviously going to have audiences of all ages? Our flight had a dozen or so children and when you show prime time trash on the overhead TVs, it’s really tough to keep kids from looking forward the entire length of the 2 hour flight so they don’t watch a woman being raped, a man being beaten, or someone being held at gunpoint. I am traveling on behalf of the US government so I didn’t have to pay for my ticket. I did, however, pay for my 3 year old son to accompany me on the flight and I am wholly unsatisfied with the AA team responsible for choosing in-flight ‘entertainment.’ I’m not sure if NBC pays AA to feature their shows or AA has to pay NBC for the pleasure of featuring their trash but either way, what in the world are you guys thinking?"

Cons: "1) Biggest complaint is not about the actual flight we were on, but the one we missed, who left the gate Early, even though they knew we had landed and other people from our BCN to JFK flight made it. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING, esp since all other flights to DC out of JFK were cancelled. 2) We were on the last row of the plane so our seats didn’t recline. Annoying at best bc the flight was so short, but would have been nice since we had been traveling for 18 hours by that point (because of the late flight, missed connection, cancelled JFK flights, etc)."

Cons: "The crew was nice and everything, but they weren't very good at making announcements on the loudspeaker. You could tell they didn't really know what they were saying or haven't practiced. One lady was trying to make a sales pitch for a new master card and you could tell she was reading and there were long pauses. My sense is that when using the loudspeaker to talk to the entire flight, one should be practiced and know what they're saying and communicate quickly and efficiently. Don't mean to be critical, but it's something that I noticed that could be improved."
Cons: "Flight was delayed for hours- weather related, but at other destinations- so this flight had to wait to be rescheduled. Also they weren't able to give any idea when the flight would be boarding- they just kept sending text alerts that it was delayed another half hour and no updates were listed on the screens. When the flight finally left, after I had been waiting for over 5 hours, we were told that they would be flying low, so there would be no beverage service. It would be nice in these situations to simply have bottled water to pass out quickly, or make the announcement prior to boarding so people would be able to bring their own beverages."
Pros: "JAL is customer oriented and it's always a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, though the return trip is also JAL, the cabin crew isn't."
Cons: "Not once but twice we boarded, sat on the plane for an hour and then were asked to deplane due to mechanical issues. It's understandable for one plane to have problems, but absurd to have issues again with the second plane. After all this, our flight was delayed until the early hours of the morning, leaving many passengers to sleep in the airport. It was uncomfortable, disappointing, frustrating, and the crew seemed very unsympathetic."

Cons: "From the get go it was an awful experience ... I travel with an emotional support animal as does my husband because we don't do well with flying. I have anxiety to the max about it & my husband gets ulcerative colitis flare ups any time he's stressed out which is usually while we fly and having our dogs with us turkey makes us feel better. When I called to tell them over the phone we would have our emotional support animal I got an attitude as if I hadn't been doing this for the last 4 years. She reiterated to me that we needed in addition to the letterhead from the doctor a form filled out (which we both did ) . Brought to the airport and sit had to sit at the counter like the girl didn't know what she was doing. Fast forward to finally getting to the gate after being stressed and our flight was delayed. This now only made our 50 min layover in DC 20 min by the time we landed. We ran from one gate to the next hoping we wouldn't miss our flight and when we got there they wouldn't let us on the plane saying things like "your dogs are not on this flight" "there is no documentation" "well then you must not have the right paperwork" ... in front of a bunch of people in line, out of breath, and now embarrassed I am forced to take out my folder and give them all the paperwork I had just given to the customer service desk before our first flight. They let everyone on the plane and still made us stand there and finally said "just go but your dogs aren't on this flight". Fast forward AGAIN to sitting on the flight the flight attendant comes over and says "guys where's you carrier the dogs need to be under the seats" .. we peoceeded again to explain for the seventh time that they were emotional support animals ... she then proceeded "no they are not they are not even listed on this flight" at this point I'm EXTREMLY embarrassed because people on the plane are paying attention and drawing attention to us but not only that ... I have been doing this for years .. I ALWAYS have the proper documentation as does my husband and we have never ran into this kind of disappointment and embarrassment from any airline until now. I was so stressed out to begin with and this deffinately didn't help ... nor did it make us wants to fly on American again. I felt pushed aside, embarrassed, and belittled by multiples employees ... all because the first employee clearly made a mistake and didn't document things correctly ... that should have never been put on us ."

Once pulling to the gate we waited another 15 minutes for someone to figure out the walkway and open the door tom the plane-- all with no communication from the crew."
Cons: "i decided to purchase a separate direct flight at a different time instead of changing my flight, only to be informed later when i tried to hop on the back end of my original flight, that they had canceled my ticket since i hadnt boarded on the front end of that flight. i had spoken to a customer service rep about my option before purchasing the extra ticket, and she did not mention that this would be an issue. then i had to pay extra to get back on my original flight."
Cons: "When the pilot took off at LGA he said "everyone here is trying to take off at the same time" so we'd be delayed by 30 min. Not once was there a mention of any other reason. By the time we got to DC I had JUST missed my connecting flight. It was listed nowhere on the departures screen and I realized I had to take an outdoor bus to the other half of the "c" terminal which was very confusing. I got there and had missed the connecting flight and stand in line for 20 min for someone to tell me that I would be stuck in DC overnight. At this point rain had started pouring and they told me that because my mishap was due to weather they would provide no meal or hotel voucher. Weather was not the issue and I was stuck in DC overnight by myself and not compensated for hotels or meals."

Cons: "Counter at Asheville, point of origin for the flight, was unattended at recommended arrival time. Attendant, when he finally appeared, seemed, to this traveler at least, unengaged, abrupt, even rude, certainly not as welcoming and helpful ad other UA counter attendants at busier airports and at more demanding times. The word lazy comes to mind. The same individual handled the gate. His demeanor there was similar. If it is UA policy to leave counters unattended, an explanation should be posted; if present policy requires one individual to handle counter and gate duties, perhaps more help is needed. This experience, all the more frustrating when a passenger ruses early so as to comply with recommended arrival and boarding times, combined with the fact that the incoming flight significantly delayed AVL to Washington depart setting the tone for a mostly mediocre experience crowned by a painful trek from terminal A to terminal C to catch the connection to PVD. Not a best effort by UA. Outstanding flight and cabin crews saved the day."
Cons: "Luthsansa sent the reminder 30 prior the flight that was a delay on the flight operated by United. I called customer service they do don’t helped and hanged up twice. Finally after waiting for an hour on the airport the same flight was change 4 times more. A manager in United got us in a different flight but we arrived 40 minutes later to Madrid and missed our connection to our other flight. I had to buy a one way expensive tickets because my connection was loss due to the issues with the FL rigth from Charlotte"

Pros: "The crew on the flight were very friendly, very attentive and always smiling. They took great care of the passengers and in particular a woman with a crying baby. It didn't bother me at all, but I know the parents were concerned and the flight attendants were so kind and helpful. The food was truly fantastic, and served hot and with a smile. They repeatedly asked us about water, as the cabin was dry. I would give the crew an A+!"
Cons: "My husband and I have not flown for several years and have always enjoyed past flights. However, it seems as if the seats have much less leg room than years ago. I am only 5 foot 4 inches, and was very uncomfortable. My husband is 6 feet tall and he was miserable. Sleeping on this 9 hour flight would have been helpful, but due to the cramped seating, it was pretty much impossible. The little pillow and blanket did help with some back support, but I guess making more money per flight is more important than comfort."

Cons: "I had to go on my trip a few days later due to a work conflict. I never changed my itinerary because I didn’t think it mattered. I bought a new one way ticket on a different airline and went to get on my return flight that I had paid for and was still receiving emails about. I got to the airport to check in for my return flight and it had been canceled because I didn’t get on the first leg. I was never notified and they couldn’t get me on the flight I wanted because it was leaving in less than hour(which is a stupid rule). And to get me on a flight the next day would cost $2500. No thanks. And before anyone tells me that it’s in the fine print that they cancel a flight if you don’t show up, save it. We all know people don’t read all that. Be a human being. So if your plans change, make sure you officially change your plans, because they may go above, but probably not beyond. Oh and it took quite a long time for them to figure out what happened. If they had realized and I didn’t spend so much time on the phone with customer service, I might’ve been outside the hour window requirement."

Cons: "The ‘third world’ arrival handling by IAD. Ragged transporters. No intercom service or effort whatsoever to advise pax of apparent problem at main terminal. Turned off transporter engine and left us on the tarmac breathing diminishing air in the module and wondering what was going on. Mobile passport service ‘not working’ at jam-packed immigration. Luggage retrieval frustrated by problems or incompetence and finally located at an undesignated conveyor area. No kudos to IAD. All kudos to Lufthansa/UAL. One Exception was my ‘by chance’ immigration agent who for the first time ever for me at IAD said “welcome home” as he waved me on."

Cons: "United has a system glitch and we were delayed. I got in around 1 am instead of 11 pm. I decide to order a glass of wine and since they don’t give receipts. I found out i was charged for 2 glasses instead of one. To top it off the co-worker i was traveling with didn’t get charged due to the inconvenience and delay. i travel a lot with United (higher status than him) and would have liked that offer (and not get charged one i didn’t order) being a mileage plus and credit card holder. I did go on line and ask for a credit and they did make it right and give me a credit."

Pros: "I was separated from my 4 year old and 7 year old children as well as our husband. We bought our tickets together but we're out on 4 different rows. I asked flight attendant for help and she was rude. She talked to my husband who was further in the back and came back and told everyone it was ok for my kids to not be with their parents because my husband said it was ok. It was not ok, it was awful. After I started crying someone finally traded spots. But I didn't like that my husband's wishes over Road mine, it was misogynistic and she was a woman, a very condescending women."

Cons: "I had a really hard time getting the cabin crews' attention during boarding for a piece of safety equipment. I hit the call light, tried to catch them as the crew was distributing headphones, and the light got turned off by an off-duty flight attendant without checking that we needed something. I got it in the end with an apology from crew but I still don't feel terribly safe Also, the paid entertainment system that my neighbors purchased seemed to be down with static for a portion of the flight."

Cons: "Baggage Claim was a nightmare. I did not receive a baggage ticket when I checked my bag in London. Part of that is my fault. I should have made sure I had one. It took an extra long time to get my bag. Everyone else had left the area from my flight and I approached the counter. The attendant at the counter was rude. She said she couldn't help me unless I had the baggage claim ticket. Which I get that, but it all comes down to how she said it to me. She went over to the carousel and said that my flights bags were still going around and at that time I saw my bag. I said there it is to her and she responds, well you can go get it yourself then. Just completely rude. It all came down to how she responded to me. I was freaking out at the prospect of my bag being lost and she responded as clipped and uncompassionately as possible."

Cons: "I was disappointed by a few things... 1. The staff didn't much care to be there. They seemed distant and unconcerned, although their words were supportive. I just got off a flight from Seoul to SF, with United (892) and they admittedly stated that they were understaffed (which was completely fine) and their attitudes were much more supportive than that of the following team (486), a flight from SF to IAD. 2. I was surprised, that on a 5hr flight, they only offered a half bag of mixed items and two rounds of beverages. I was sure that they would feed us something. However, if it's not the policy, I get it...but I asked if they had anything I could purchase, the flight attendant points me to the menu pamphlet and says that I could choose from there. I asked for the Chilled Chicken with Slaw and she promptly lets me know that they only have cheeseburgers, a protein box and Cheese. For a person who's lactose intolerant, I was again disappointed by the service--why ask me to go to the menu, if you knew there were only three items you were offering?? So I didn't order anything. 3. The entertainment blows my mind. I've flown with you guys like 8 times this year, and the app still does not work properly, however, before every flight, someone mentions over the intercom to be sure to download the app...but if it doesn't work...why offer it? Also, if there are tvs at the back of every headrest, the least you could offer is a random movie, versus the commercials about how great the app is, or whatever was scrolling along. Lastly, please note, I was trying to figure out a way to make a comment to United...but didn't want to sound TOOO disgruntled. I'm not opposed to flying with UA, absolutely not, but if any of these things are addressed, I definitely feel you will be making a massive improvement on what seems to be an airline that I'd think twice about taking. Feel free to e-mail or call me. I don't mean to sound rude...but having flown other airlines, and knowing that UA has been around for a while, i just hoped the experience would be better."

Cons: "The United employees at check in kiosk were very unorganized and unhelpful. I was traveling internationally with a small child and had two pieces of luggage to check in. Normally you just go to the counter once and they do everything including taking your luggage once they weigh it. Instead, I had to go to the self check in kiosk, then back to the counter to weigh my luggage, take off the one luggage from the scale, weigh the second one, then go back to the self check in kiosk, then was told to take off the second luggage as well, then finally went to a second counter where the lady handwritten my luggage tags and then was told to take both pieces of luggage and put them somewhere else altogether with specific directions on where to put them. This is something normally handled by the actual employees. Also, the check in dude yelled at my kid for putting in his name into the check in kiosk while we were waiting on the check in dude to do all those unorganized activities. He claimed it would break the software if my kid were to enter his name. I have told him that no, the software will not break if my child enters in his name."

Pros: "The people were very nice! The entertainment although not easy to access was free. snacks were meh but ok. They did what they could to make us comfortable after flight was delayed 2.5 hours."
Cons: "The flight was delayed for 2.5 hours was out of the control of the crew. They did what they could. But the plane was cramped. Not enough space. Everyone was cramped. We missed our connecting flight they put us up in a hotel and booked alternate flights. We had to stand out in the cold waiting for a shuttle to take us to the hotel. The hotel staff said more than once they were not prepared for all of us and getting us from airport to hotel and in rooms was almost another 2 hours. That gave us 3.5 hours to sleep before we started in the next journey. Of 4 hours from take off to landing in our home city. I had to pay for my baggage to go onto another airline."

Cons: "Recent airline corporation consolidation has greatly reduced consumer choice. The surviving major airlines, in their effort to cut costs, sacrifice quality control and assurance. Pittsburgh's status as "no longer a major hub" was on full display here. United needed to have customer service agents available on site, but they did not. The review could easily turn into an essay on United's complete failure (ask the remaining passengers who were supposed to be on the PIT-IAD), but such a review would not change the state of affairs in the airline industry. I will be contacting United reps to lodge an official complaint."

Cons: "After having several flights with international airlines while in Thailand for the last 2 weeks, it was quite a disappointment to spent 12 hours on this UA flight. There was a 6-8 hour period during our flight were flight attendants did not ask or even consider walking the isles and asking the passengers if they needed any water or anything else. During several flights in Thailand, the attendants were constantly catering to every passengers' needs. The difference between the flight attendants from Bangkok to Tokyo compared to Tokyo to DC was worlds apart. The Japanese attendants were as friendly as ever and took care of all the passengers needs. The flight attendants were flat out rude. There was once event on this flight that I could not believe. A child of 5-7 years old had to go to the restroom with his mother. The flight attendant was collecting trash from our meal. Even though she knew the child was behind her and needed to go to the restroom, she would not stop collecting trash, move her cart so that the boy and his mother could get to the restroom. Instead, she continued collecting trash and made the boy wait until she was done. I feel embarrassed for the foreigners who were on this flight and this was their first impression of America and Americans. The main meal that was served was a breaded chicken patty served with a slurry of questionable gravy, rice, and a roll. I received better food on multiple 1 hour flights while in Thailand. The comfort level was what you would expect from most American airlines-tight and cramped. I will never book with United for another international flight."

The staff at the gate of Dulles airport were extremely rude and difficult to deal with, which made it frustrating to try and figure out my connection situation. I missed my connection from Brussels to Paris and had to buy a train ticket for which I was not reimbursed by United. Then, on the way back from Paris, my flight was delayed 2.5 hours for the same reason. At least this time I had a direct flight. This entire experience makes me think twice about flying United again. I live in DC and it would be just as (in)convenient for me to go to BWI instead of Dulles for international flights, where there seems to be more options outside of flying United."

Then, have to pay for a Lyft to get to my car because my cousin was my ride back to her house. I sure do miss the old Frontier."

There were no food options. We were supposed to get a voucher, and I have not received it. Lastly, after waiting over 8 HOuRS, we still had to pay for snack and drink. I was ripped off and will not be flying with Frontier again."

The consequence is that the man next to me couldn't lean back enough, so slumped onto me most of the flight. A one year old behind me constantly pulled up and down the unmatchable tray table and kicked my thin chair -- so I felt every little tiny foot. The stewardess refused to give us water when our row asked and they forgot to call boarding zone 2 when boarding so it was a mess. I would say Frontier was a terrible airline. Their discounted prices are a farce as they charge for a seat and carry-on luggage, so I may as well have paid for a regular fare from a more comfortable airline."

I was given a seat on the computer and then when I got on the plane there were two people with same seat. The floors and seats were unbelievably dirty as well. I have never seen so much trash and crumbs everywhere. It was an awful experience. Our trip to Vegas the first night was ruined because we were planning to see a show Thursday evening and landed two hours late and could have possibly made it but we sat on runway for an hour before deplaning."

A woman with 5 week old child, a senior citizen with a cane, a woman recovering form surgery all RAN from gate to the other (about 1/2 miles) only to be told they were too late, the terminal door was closed. Only after pounding on the door, cajoling the customer service people 10 feet away and telling 50 others waiting in the service area did the door open!"

Cons: "The airline increased the bag fees for the summer without an obvious communication. Very unfair and un professional from such a company. I paid $10 extra than 5 days before. The only problem with Frontier is that to check in bags there is only 1 maybe 2 people taking bags for full planes at least 100+ passengers. As it is cheaper and better to check in bags than carry on the airline should make this proccess more efficient. I spend at least 20-30 minutes to check my bag each wat ok my last trip. Very unefficient!"

The seats are the most stripped down uncomfortable airline seats I have ever experienced. After all the add on costs, there is no value in the cramped, crowded, uncomfortable flight. Also, on every flight at least half of the passengers were not aware of the baggage policy until it was too late to check it for less money and had to pay extra to carry on. To top it off, we had to change gates at the last minute, resulting in having to go out of the Domestic terminal and sent us all back through the check in!!! We should have at least been able to fly through the pre check if not rerouted us through another way that did not require the total shoes off, open bags, metal detection all over again!!!"
Cons: "The flight was delayed and the airline charges for everything. They tried to charge me for my CARRYON bag which is hilarious, and I proceeded to say I would not pay that charge. The attendant let me board the plane anyway and I put my carryon in the overhead without an issue, which deeply concerns me. I went to the new gate where the incoming flight was already deboarding the plane. 10 minutes later other passengers from my flight began to arrive complaining about sharing electronic notifications because the attendant made no attempt to let passengers know the gates had changed. She did publicize other gate changed a while I was at the original gate, but never announced my flight’s gate change. Claiming bags in DC was also an unorganized event. I understand the no frills concept but I can’t recommend Spirit to anyone I wish to remain friends with, no matter how cheap the tickets are."

I ate literally in the car before i got to the air port, so check in told me to run to make it. the tsa knew i asked people if i can jump ahead in line and they said yes, they all knew i was in a hurry, the boarding door guy knew that i was out of breath and i told him i was out of shape, so dont mind me. I was one of the last people to sit down. So after 15 minutes of me cooling down, and after the flight attendant gave me water, napkins, and an ice pack, then i felt nauseous and i threw up in the bathroom. I felt much better because it was the food that i just ate right before i did all the running. I told them that this is what happened, and as you can see i am sweaty and was in a hurry to make it here. they said for my safety that i need to get off the plane to be examined. I literary purged the full stomach i had after running from one end of the air port to the other. It has been told to most people that you must let your food digest before doing physical activity. I am out of shape and that run over exerted my body. So they had me removed off the plane, after i desperately attempted to make the flight before they stopped boarding, which i did, and I got taken off. Rude."

How hard would it have been to fix for both flights on the 1st call? I didn’t get a seat assigned for both of my flights and had to call customer service. All on my friends got seats assigned and based on past experiences, this led me to believe the flight was overbooked. Therefore, on the one flight I had to pay 18 dollars just to ensure I had a seat. I had my boarding pass on my app when I through security at BWI. Then mysteriously the boarding pass didn’t show up when I got to my gate. Two days later and my back still aches. This airline does a good job at what it does, however, that's not very much. If you have more than two pennies to rub together, you'd be smart to sterr clear of it, as I will be doing from now on. Lesson learned and chalking this one up to experience."
Pros: "It was a terrible experience start to finish and I will never fly with Spirit again. It started off with inefficient and confusing lines and then it was delayed over 3 hours with no posted updates at the gate of explanations. There were no apologies or offers to amend the situation. The seats do not recline and the space is very cramped and I don't think it is actually legal to not offer free drinking water when passengers are stuck on board for over 6 hours which was the case for this flight. Only because after boarding everyone they realized the door wouldn't close properly and had maintenance work on it for over an hour. on my return trip to Seattle the check in process at BWI was even worse and the flight attendants were late to the gate so boarding was delayed. They also told me there were no available seats to transfer too, but once on board I discovered there were over 80 seats available on the flight. So she completely lied to me for no explainable reason. Over all I was appalled on both trips and quite frankly, the tickets are not that much less than any other airline going from BWI to SEA and back - the benefit of reasonable comfort and human decency far out weighs the possible 30 bucks I saved and then spent on a carry on bag. Spirit should not be allowed to operate, it is a shady and mean organization and I have made sure to broadcast my terrible experience to everyone I know. As a travel site you should really consider you're role in promoting such a dismal travel experience/airline. I am loyal to kayak and generally trust the validity of the site, but i am disappointed that I was encouraged to purchase such a terrible trip through your site and may consider different options in the future."

They don't offer free water on long flights, and they make you pay for any and all beverages. Nothing is included in your flight. Their new planes, while 'green' and fuel efficient are unbearably uncomfortable to fly in. The seats are hard molded plastic with about an inch of padding and aren't adjustable T all. Flying more than four hours was pure hell, seated upright. Also, be sure to pay for your bag at the ticket counter. They charge you twice as much at the gate if you don't remember. And it's printed on your boarding pass, so don't think they're letting you off easy. It's a trap to get you to pay more."

There is constant jostling (even while you're sitting down) as people try to get through the crowd. And there is only one food cart unless you go back through security. The food cart is by Cosi, so the food is reasonably good, but with this many people the lines for a coffee or lukewarm breakfast wrap are long. And you have to keep moving to let people pass by. Oh, and I had a 2.5 hour delay on last flight to BWI."

Had to take a connecting flight to Boston and ended up in my destination 6 hours later than planned. On my way back from Fort Lauderdale, almost every Spirit flight in the entire airport was delayed. My flight boarded on time, but when we were ready to take off, the captain came on the loud speaker and said that we need to go back to the gate because 3 flight attendants need to get off of the plane. First and last time ever flying with Spirit."

Cons: "Pricing is deceptive as any assigned seat costs extra. Boarding is a mess. I think they sell group 2 boarding as an extra but let group 2and 3 board together. Aisle, window and middle seats board together so people are constantly clogging aisles during boarding to let people into middle and window seats. As a result the policies that reduce carry-ons don't speed up boarding. They do clog up the departure lounge as people who haven't paid for a carry-on are pulled aside for a charge that makes their total flight cost the same as a carrier with the usual, albeit slim, amenities of most domestic airlines.This flight was hours late as was the other leg of this trip. Seats do not recline, at all. Some seat backs are just a layer of fabric, so if someone puts a knee or foot forward you get a real jab."
Cons: "I accidentally booked an 9pm flight when I meant to select 9am flight at 8am after missing my jetblue flight. I needed to get to Baltimore for work. I went through security and while I was about to board the plane they turned me away due to my ticket being incorrect. The woman checking the boarding passes rudely said "there's no room on this plane so we can't switch this ticket to 9am." I went to Spirit customer service minutes after I was turned away and they told me there was in fact room on that plane. So because of an honest mistake, they 1) wouldn't refund my ticket and 2) were rude and unhelpful and refused to let me on a plane that had plenty of space but they didn't want to inconvenience themselves for 5 minutes to change my boarding pass even after I had gone through security. I will never book Spirit again, even if I'm desperate."

Cons: "Some how they did something wrong when they put my information in the computer for my return flight departing from Ft. Lauderdale. I was not able to check in and print my boarding pass ahead of time. I called the customer service line twice to confirm that my reservation was intact even though I could not print the pass. At the airport there was no "bag drop" so everyone from all Spirit flights had to wait in a line that was 2 blocks long (no lie.) It took 45 mins. to get to the counter. Once there no one could seem to figure out what was wrong and it didn't seem to be a priority for them as they were putting out quite a few other fires. I stood at the counter for another 45 mins. They finally were able to print my boarding pass. Thank god I was TSA approved or I would not have made the flight. That did not seem to bother any of their employees. They won't be seeing me again!"

I don't fly often so when one of the ladies at the counter said something about checked bags that I didn't understand and I asked her about it she was kind of rude giving her response. And there was gum stuck in pretty much every book (the plane instructions manual, the menu) I get that you get a good deal flying spirit but I feel like your flight attendants hate their jobs."

I travel a lot and they are the worst in terms of addons, trying to penalize by price, (not cheap) unless you have no reason to take luggage (like a meeting where you need a change of clothes There "basic" is cheap if you need nothing else, but when you start checking luggage at $50 a suitcase a round trip of $100 any bargain is soon gone. And some of the staff (the stewardess outbound from Baltimore is Ok. But they changed planes and the bigger seat I paid for was not available. Getting a refund required checking several times. Most said they couldn't do it. The final person in Baltimore, was "lounging: against the counter". Grabbed by ticket ungraciously. Was clearly irritated that I had a refund provlem that she "had" to deal with. No smile, NO NO For the uninitiated flyer they may work. If you don't know what else is available at what price and if you read there advertising and treat riding with the like voting for trump (believing all untruths) OK. Pros: "My trip once in Las Vegas was great, however my experience flying with Spirit was the worst for my girlfriend and I. We tried to pay our luggage fees from home but weren't able to do so from our mobile phones, they charged us each $55 for one piece of luggage & they only allow you 40 pounds. Then once at the gate & before boarding the plane they told me I had to pay $65 for my small carry on, it fitted perfectly in their sample measurement they have there & still the woman from Spirit told me if you want to get on the plane you need to pay $65 now or you'll lose the flight. Same for coming back. They didn't even allowed us to sit together. So initially the flight was apparently cheap but with all the expensive luggage fees came up to $500 RT from BWI to Vegas. Worst experience ever! I've flown all over & with many airlines & this has been the worst experience ever, I'm never flying with them again & same for my girlfriend."
Cons: "The alert was finally sent to us well past the time we would have been going through security. Luckily, we had checked on our own through a third party app,. No alternative flights were available, so we had to book on another airline and cancel the Spirit tickets. The credit policy is draconian. We may not be able to meet the redemption requirements and will probably lose the entire value. The process created so much frustration and wasted so much time. The low-ish price is simply not worth it."

Security noted that Spirit requires you go through their ticket kiosks/desk, despite sending a mobile QR code to go through it when going through mobile check-in (itself a serious pain due to a terrible website). Cons: "Every time I fly Spirit Airlines, I swear I'll never do it again. Then I see the low fares and I say "okay, just one more time." This experience was another leg in that cycle. A low fare, a "one more time," and a fierce "oh hell no--never again." When I arrived at the airport, the ticket counter looked like a flea market. It was absolutely mobbed. My flight was departing in about an hour, and one woman in line had already been waiting for 2.5 hours. Since Spirit Airlines does not participate in the mobile boarding pass process (FOR SOME INANE GODFORSAKEN BULLSHIT REASON), I still had to check in and get my boarding pass. And since two other Spirit flights had recently been cancelled, the ticket counter line was a trainwreck. An utter mass of dispirited humanity, waiting, ironically enough, at a counter called "Spirit." I managed to maneuver my way through, and with several strokes of luck and a possible intervention from God, I left the sad zoo of passengers behind me and made it through security, to the gate, and into the boarding line, with my idiotic paper boarding pass. As you might imagine, I was somewhat rushed and a touch flustered, though grateful to be en route to my destination. I was thirsty though, a combination of the morning's odyssey, the recycled cabin air, and this human need to hydrate that we share with literally every living thing on the planet. So I waited patiently for the pilot to extinguish the "seatbelt" sign, walked up to the flight attendants and politely asked for a glass of water. "That will be $3.00," she said. I paused for a moment. Surely there must be a mistake. I wanted water. Not coffee or tea or lemonade or a cocktail. Just a glass of water. This is how I came to realize that access to something that is a biological necessity for survival--that I would be granted gratis almost anywhere else--costs, on Spirit Airlines. Only those with access to a functioning credit card will be served water. Now I understand that keeping costs down is the only way this poor excuse for an airline stays in business. Every one of its passengers is there as a personal compromise, dodging hidden fees for "legroom" and seat selection and peanuts at every turn to get to their location without selling their souls to the corporate demons who've re-vamped the age-old "bait and switch" and call it a bargain. Cons: "The flight was canceled 15 minutes after boarding was supposed to have started. This was at 11PM. We were told to go back to the ticket counter and see if other arrangements could be made. Another flight was also canceled at this time. It took us until 3 am to reach the ticket counter. When I got there the ticket agent asked if I could take a video of the lines for her to send to her children. After declining a 7AM flight with three stops that would have taken us to L.A. first and had us land in Baltimore at midnight, we were given tickets out on Jet Blue, a real airline, the next day at 10AM. We were also given vouchers for 3 meals, a taxi ride to and from the airport, and a hotel. However, no restaurant in the airport would take the vouchers and neither would the taxi back to the airport. The taxi was even the same company that took us to the hotel less that six hours earlier. Spirit barely had any communication with us on any of this. There was never an explanation for why the flight was canceled. They also allowed people to jump the line and get vouchers, slowing the overall process. It is safe to say I will never fly Spirit again, no matter how cheap it is."

Thankfully the attendant moved me up to Row 11 which was totally empty. I do NOT like sitting in the back of the plane and that is why I try to purchase a seat over or forward of the wing. NOT a happy camper over this."
Pros: "I was apprehensive to book a flight from this airline due to its size and relative unknown but was pleasantly surprise by the experience. The steward was hilarious and kept everyone on board attentions for the duration of the flight by making very good and funny jokes about the airline including tasteful tacky joke about how not to expect much from them because we all knew what we had paid for.... The flight was very smooth and pleasant! Overall I was very pleased!"

I was not able to put a should bag which normally goes under the seat in place due to the fact that there was an oversize person who sit in the seat in front . Cons: "While I had heard bad things about Spirit airlines, I had never flown with them before. I was unaware at the time of booking that Spirit charges exorbitant fees for even carry-on luggage. As a result, I chose to attempt to fit all of my clothes and necessary items in a "personal item" sized bag to avoid the additional $90 it would cost me to bring a large backpack or standard carry-on suitcase. Other fees are charged for seemingly standard items such as being able to select a seat location and receiving a drink during the flight. I could have flown with another airline for the same price if I included the carry-on fee, and in retrospect wish I had. The problems did not stop there, however. Both my departing flight and return flight were delayed over an hour in clear weather. The flight itself was also the worst I have experienced. The seats were incredibly uncomfortable and felt like metal folding chairs. They did not recline and there was very little leg room. The full cabin lights were on for most of my return flight, which had been delayed over two hours to 11:15 pm, making any rest impossible. I will never fly Spirit again and will try to spread the word so that nobody else has to endure a flight from this poorly-run, money-grubbing excuse for an airline. You have been warned!"

I got to the airport that evening an hour before we were supposed to board and people watched. The flight before us from our gate was supposed to take off at 11:25 but randomly decided to take off EARLY. 20 people missed the flight and the desk lady said the next flight they could take would be Tuesday and this was a Sunday. What the heck! I digress. So we board our flight and get ready to take off. We are literally in line to go into the air when the captain comes on and says we have to go back to the gate to shift luggage around bc the aircraft is in balanced. Shouldn't they have realized that prior?! So we had to go back and we didn't end up taking off until almost 2:30 am. I will never fly spirit again. It's not worth the cheapness."

They charged me $110 per trip total of $220 roundtrip and my flight cost $213 roundtrip. They charge $3 for a bottle of water. When I asked for a cup of water they said ONLY IF YOU HAVE TO TAKE A PILL if I do not want to buy a $3 bottle of water. They charged me $55 for a backpack carry on (because it had wheels and it was 18"x14"x10"!!! I would never fly this airline again. None of their seats on the plane recline!!! I was stiff and sore."

I understand issues happen all the time that are out of our hands. The gentleman at the gate was extremely helpful and accommodating, but he still gave it a 50/50 shot of the plane being cancelled or not. We opted to receive a refund and drive to Baltimore. I completely understand that this was a safety issue with the plane. I'm not upset that the flight was delayed. But having to wait 9 hours for a plane that may or may not be able to make it or be cancelled was tough."

The thought of dodging hidden fees is great but not at the expense of comfortability and incurring additional baggage and in flight fees. Bottled water should be free for travelers even if it's only the 8oz bottles. The snack/drink menu options are limited and the prices are ridiculous. We had gone through security and had to exit the airport to get to the switched terminal which was far (10 walk) and had to get through new security check. After going through the full body scanner, a TSA agent patted my hair with her dirty gloves. Nobody should have their hair patted down after going through a full body scanner. This is a violation of my person, of my privacy. Also noted that only coloured women had their hair patted down. We should never be treated like animals or differently than other travelers."
Pros: "one time departure and arrive"
Cons: "I chose Spirit because of its cheap flight price so I didn't expect a high quality of service. For example, I didn't expect a very comfortable seats or meals in the flight. But, there are some instances which are not dependent to the price/money like politeness of the flight attendant/employees or responsiveness of the boarding member. On the flight day, me and the other fellow traveler were waiting for the boarding but the gate was closed and no body was standing at the front of the boarding desk. Also, there was no LCD screen to show that this gate is assigned for the Houston or any other places. The time was passed from the original boarding time and we were still waiting for the boarding member. Accidentally, I saw a airport employee and ask him that this is the gate assigned to the IAH Houston? And he responded: "Oh no, the gate is changed!" Thus, I ran from the former gate to the new assigned gate. But I saw that the people are still waiting for the boarding member at the front desk. There was a 25min delay and all the people were standing and waiting for that lady to come. At the end, since she was alone and she couldn't handle all the people, she didn't check the boarding zone. It is important to be mentioned that I received the changing of the gate E-mail very late just I was entering the airplane! In the airplane, the flight attendant were not friendly. They didn't help the old people to entering the airplane or putting their luggage at the top cases. During the flight, they were just sitting and playing with their mobiles! Apart from this issues, the worst scenario happened in the baggage claim. When all the people were waiting about 30mins for delivery of the baggage. At the end, it was so disappointing to see one my baggage is broken and its handle bar was detached that I couldn't move it easily to the outside of the airport. I reported the issue to the Spirit baggage claim and that employee was not friendly either and she didn't even apologize! Therefore, I am currently totally disappointed about the Spirit because as I mentioned there are some instances which are not dependent to the price/money. Even cheap airlines should provide highly respected treatment to their customers."
Pros: "Let me start by saying that the entire purpose of Spirit is to be significantly cheaper than other airlines and at that, they have succeeded. We saved nearly $300 for two people round trip. That said, you have to read their policies before booking to fly with them as they do charge you for any baggage beyond a small backpack/purse. We planned accordingly and it worked just fine. Because they are cheaper, they also provide no movies or entertainment of any kind and no food/beverage provided. They are available for purchase on the flight or you could just again, plan accordingly and pack your own snacks and drinks before you board the flight. Many complaints about them having frequent delays. But we were fortunate enough to not have any of these on our outgoing and return flights. Flight attendance were friendly and courteous."
Cons: "They are cheap so they have the cheapest feeling cabins of any airline I've flown in the US. No reclining. Not much leg room. And not much of a tray table. For a 5 hour flight across the US it was a bit uncomfortable. I probably wouldn't book them again for a flight of the duration but it would be more than fine for a 2-3 hour flight considering the cost. Flight attendance were pushing the airlines credit card at the end of the flight."
Pros: "Spirit is known as an ultra low cost carrier. I did not know this when I purchased the tickets, so the fares we paid were a little less than that of competitors. The pros end there."
Cons: "For the amount of harassment one goes through to fly with Spirit, the slightly lower fares are not worth it. Frankly, it seems like a ploy to hook people and subsequently squeeze three nickels out of every dime for anything else on the flight. The boarding process was delayed by over an hour. The attendant speaking from the gate was rude, hostile, and obnoxious. Those boarding were practically interrogated to make sure the water bottle they were holding might not be an extra personal item. (You have to pay $55 for a carry-on but are allowed one personal item on Spirit. If you are caught carrying extra onto the plane without paying, it's a $100 fine. One which they are on the prowl for!) Once on the flight, there is no entertainment. There is no complimentary anything. You can buy food or drink with credit cards only. The seats do not even have a tilt function to them, so you can only sit upright. My personal favorite part of the flight was watching the fight that ensued between female passengers deboarding and the attendants that did nothing about it. Something about the ultra low cost carrier makes people crazed to get off the plane. At the end of a flight, everyone wants off a plane, but I have never seen such disorganized chaos and blatantly rude disregard for the deboarding process as on this flight. Next time I travel, I'll spend the extra $100 to fly with another airline. Lesson learned."

Cons: "Having to fly on Spirit, your crooked, deceitful, poor customer service ways. You are the bottom of the bottom! I can't believe that our government allows you to stay in business. Your planes are dirty, reeks of puke, and unsafe. It's only a matter of time before people start having health problems because of your dirty nasty planes and before the planes start falling out of the sky because of the old, poor maintained planes. Do us a favor and merge with another company who knows how to run an airline business like Southwest, American, Delta. Better yet, just SHUT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!"
Pros: "The flight was smooth, that's about it."
Cons: "Before I got on the aircraft, I stood at the counter and was ignored for 20 minutes. The flight attendants and person who was supposed to be manning the desk were all laughing and sharing stories near the breezeway and ignoring all the customers to come to the desk. I received my seat assignment just moments before we started boarding. First of all when I got on the airplane the floor and seats were covered with cookies crumbs. Also when I first got on the airplane there was trash still stuffed in the back of the seats. Second of all, the crew, one person in particular was not very professional with some of her comments and reminded me of how a high school student would act. I don't think I'll ever fly Spirit Airlines again and less it's a very short duration flight . The seats in this aircraft did not recline at all either and were really uncomfortable,"
Cons: "The trickery of low pricing is quickly realized with your inflated baggage and seating. No frills?? Water and a bag of peanuts wouldn't kill you. And the worst ever is your significantly inefficient ticketing process! A domestic flight shouldn't require a 2 hour airport arrival and even with that, leave 47 passengers at the gate... All that waited patiently thru limited attended ticketing and baggage drop lines followed by security all in an effort to maintain on time departure stats. Other airlines would at least provide a food voucher. I arrived at the airport in Ft. Lauderdale at 5:30 AM and didn't return to BWI until 12:30AM the next day. That's unconscionable and in this day and age -- flat out horrible business!"
Pros: "I liked the price and the onboard staff was pleasant. The pilots were appropriately apologetic."
Cons: "Our flight was delayed. Then delayed again, then delayed again and eventually cancelled!! So we were re-booked on the evening flight. Twelve hours later! Then that flight was delayed. And delayed again. Finally we took off 2 and a half hours after our scheduled flight time after spending 15 hours at the airport! We lost an entire day of our mini-vacation! We found out our flight was cancelled do to mechanical failure of the plane. We ended up with the very same plane that night and it was not fixed! They still had a problem with their auxillliary power so they had one Hell of a time getting the engines started we sat and sat and waited on the tarmac for the engines to finally be started. When we first arrived, the ticket agents were nice but seemed easily confounded and seemed to need a manager to help them with every single customer. Unfortunately, there was only one to go around. The baggage assistance office person was standoffish and acted like giving one word answers was a big intrusion on her time, although we were the only customers there when we talked to her. Baggage was in front of and behind her office door. We had to go in through a side door she shared with American Airlines. It was as if she wanted to discourage people from talking to her. There is more, but you get the picture."
