I bought this ticket for my daughter. She had to pay for her carry on bag to be checked. My understanding is that transatlantic flights included carry on and personal item The nickeling and diming fo legacy carriers has stooped to an all time low. So sad.
It was good overall except from Omaha to Denver when flight a was a repeatedly delayed apparently due to some issue at Denver. Communications could have been handled better. I had to board then deboard with luggage and board again
We were delayed because of ground crew, not because the plane wasn’t ready to go. The food was better than usual!
The flight was very good. Only complaint was that the usb charging connection did not work for either me or the seat next to me so we both had to use our own portable battery to charge our phones. I also liked the fact that I could purchase Wi-Fi for an hour instead of for the entire flight.
United ground crew and pilots are friendly. The in-flight staff (flight attendants) are the worst in the world. Multiple trips, always unpleasant, combative, use implicit threats to not allow for a discussion on their decision. Authoritarian. This seems to stem from an internal corporate wide policy as I doubt that United is intentionally searching for people that are not fit for customer facing positions. I will not fly United again. Good luck fixing your business
There were issues with the first segment but what really bothered me overall is that you rebooked me and put me in a seat away from my wife and then put her in another booking or boarding group. I don't like having to monitor every little thing you guys do in order to get what I paid for in the first place.
The staff was phenomenal. I can’t think of anything that could be better. Will be flying with UA again
I had very little time to change planes originally in Denver after my flight from Omaha. I had an hour and a half layover in Denver originally and my flight leaving Omaha was delayed an hour because they had to change a tire which I can understand. When I reached Denver my other flight was late, fortunately, but I still had only 10 minutes to run about a mile through the airport to get to my flight. Again, fortunately I am a healthy 71-year-old and was able to accomplish this feat. However, the stress was more than necessary to bear.
Boarding with facial recognition was NOT quicker than with traditional boarding passes.
We bought premium economy tickets first, and then paid additional upgrade fees to get business Polaris class seats on the SFO to Amsterdam segment. This was our first time flying Polaris class on United. We were completely disappointed. The service level was sub par compared with Turkish Airlines and China Airlines business class. There were multiple flight attendants attending to us, and all were not attentive and not helpful to guests. They seem to keep a safe distance and not offer to provide much service to us. We did not feel we were in business class at all. No special treatment or attention. The food service was equally disappointing. We had to make several choices for entrees since they were not sure we could get our first choice. There was no explanation of the menu offering, and they expected us to know what we want when they came and ask for food selection. All in all, very disappointed in United Polaris Business Class service. They are very far behind their European and Asian counterparts. Would not travel again with United Polaris.
