Cons: "Flying out on December 24, the airline kept us at the airport for 6 (including 2 hours on the plane) hours before cancelling the flight because they could not get water pressure to the washrooms. We were supposed to leave for London (LHR) at 8:35pm and were notified of the cancellation at approx 2am on December 25. The only other flight that would be available would be on December 25 at the same time the 24th flight was supposed to leave. The service desk was not taking any requests for finding or re-booking flights, we were supposed to call their support number at 7am on the following day. We were offered cab fare accommodation from and back to the airport. They offered hotel stay which I passed on. They provided $60 of airport food that could only be used at certain restaurants, not compatible to purchase chips or drinks (non-alcoholic) from other stores. The coupons as compared to Air Canada, which are valid for a year were only valid for 24 hours. In the end the only "monetary" compensation I got from WestJet was 250 westjet dollars that expire in 12 months."

The food was decent, they came around for drinks 3 times and twice for snacks (you have an option of pretzel sticks or biscuits and they're both pretty good - I'm partial to the biscuits. Not gonna lie, I was able to ask them for both a couple times, and they obliged."

Cons: "I paid $15 for a meal on this flight seeing as it is transcontinental, and I would be hungry at some point. I chose a vegetarian option. The stewardess dropped off the meal, which was pasta with a side of pasta salad (no vegetables in the vegetarian option..), while I was sleeping. My girlfriend asked for wine to go with our meals, which we were charged for at an additional cost. The wine arrived an hour and a half after our meals arrived. Later in the flight, a stewardess dropped off a Turkey croissant sandwich on my tray table, waking me up for the second time that trip. I called the stewardess back and explained that I hadn't ordered a Turkey sandwich. She explained that a sandwich came as part of the meal I ordered. I stated that I would be happy to receive a sandwich, but that the Turkey did not correspond to the vegetarian option I had specified. She proceeded to take the sandwich away, and did not return for the remainder of the flight. I have issues every time I fly with WestJet; poor performance, service, and customer relations. I've travelled on 7 different air carriers in the last 28 days, and WestJet is by far the worst. I paid €19 for a flight from Munich to Brussels from a WestJet competitor, received excellent customer service from smiling stewardesses, complimentary Beer and Wine, and even chocolate and a snack. I paid over €500 to fly with WestJet, and received nothing but a resurgent sour taste in my mouth. I've given second, third, and fourth chances with WestJet but I believe they have lost my business forever at this point. Truly disappointing to say the least."

I can't say enough about how wonderful that flight was..Aer Lingus was a big disappointment and a poor substitute for BA. Very unsatisfied customer!"

The window seat I paid up for was about 8 inches from the window, so I couldn't even lean my head there. No in-flight magazines, or handing out newspapers , no entertainment available, just sitting there uncomfortably for 7 hours while the attendants huddled behind drawn and velcro'ed curtains doing nothing. A true disgrace. Avoid Iberia and their LEVEL subsidiary like the plague. Unacceptable in every way....and at least Ryan Air and WOW are cheap, this flight was full price. Total rip-off, never again."

Cons: "The seat on the LGW to MAD leg of my journey was very painful and uncomfortable. Seat pitch was very short. I have never seen such close seats in 45 years of flying including bargain airlines let alone more pricey higher quality airlines like British. Iberia was supposed to be an extension of British. When I arrived at MAD I went to the Iberia desk and tried to make an upgrade to their "business" class which was not up to the level of British's Premium Economy. At the Iberia desk at MAD, or online, or on the phone to upgrade the short leg of my return trip without raising cost of my whole round trip from USD $1250 to over USD $4000! years.This was RETURN part of my journey! Also was not able to choose seats ahead of time at MAD when I landed, online, or on the phone. British also said that I could not upgrade just the first (MAD to LGW) leg of my return journey. I would have to upgrade the LGW to TPA also. It is critical to me that I can physically fit into the space between my seat and the one in front. Emergency evacuation would be very difficult for all pax with the short seat pitch. My having to sit sideways with my legs in the aisle would make it more difficult for other pax to to evacuate in an emergency. Since I need a wheel chair I can no longer request the exit row as I have done for 45 years. British should be aware that bad experiences with partner airlines tarnishes their reputation. As a premier airline British should pressure partner airlines to maintain seat pitch at no less than 32 inches which is still tight for many people. Since not all partners have equivalent classes of fares, British should allow mixed classes. For example on a TPA to MAD round trip journey, it should be possible for the transatlantic legs to be at Premium Economy prices, and the short legs LHR or LGW to MAD at business class prices. I was flying business class on flight TP059 on March 4 2018 and have Gold status on Star Alliance. Many passengers had declined dessert and I felt extremely embarrassed by having been denied food on a plane for the first time in my life. The attitude and lack of tact of Comissario Bruno on TP059 spoiled the whole flight experience for me."

Cons: "2.5 hours in line to check in with the one agent working if you were not a gold whatever member. The same agent was at the gate taking tickets loading a single bus up at a time while everybody waited for the same bus to return to be reloaded. Ended up leaving an hour late due to being unable to load people on the plane, then a ground crew issue with loading bags extended the delay. No food service and voucher was given to cafeteria on exact opposite side and floor of airport. only reason we were able to use was because of the huge delays and problems trying to load the airplane. After the safety demonstration the flight attendants went to rear of plane and sat down in their jump seats for rest of flight. People were approaching them asking for water otherwise they ignored us. After landing stairs were used at rear of plane and door was opened. As we were two rows from the rear my girlfriend asked the male attendant 4 times if we were allowed to use the rear stairs as we were bus loading anyways, he never answered, looked at or acknowledged her speaking to him, he just stood at rear of the aisle ( 3.5 feet away) adjusting his tie and flattening his jacket sleeves. Was very awkward."

She was wrong. French customs wanted to see the merchandise which we no longer had. When we complained at TAP we were told do it in Lisbon. Again in Lisbon we could not get the D tax because that custom agent wanted to see the merchandise which was being transferred to our Lisbon - Newark flight. We loss refunds of over $400. This problem ruined a perfect trip."
