Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Cons: "The flight itself was great but it was very late in starting due to technical problems with the aircraft."
Pros: "The crew was friendly and gave clear instructions, they worked as a team."
Cons: "I would appreciate clearer information about bagge costs"
Cons: "Movie app required, but not compatible with laptop. Seats were worn. Could not complete work tasks as no internet available."
Pros: "Flight wasn't crowded and it was a quiet one."
Pros: "One of the flight attendants (potentially a French Canadian or maybe just plain French) was amongst the most beautiful women I have ever seen in my life. She was a little mean, but I'm willing to let it slide. In fact, I'm willing to let a lot of the negative things about the flight slide because of her (sorry, got to give credit where credit is due)."
Cons: "Got diarrhea from the waffles. The seats did not recline. No entertainment, but hey, this flight was damn cheap so I'm not complaining! Also, see positives."
Pros: "The entire boarding process, takeoff, staff were all good."
Cons: "The entertainment system went down mid flight and I was unable to finish watching a show. Not happy about this."
Cons: "My flights were so behind I missed my connection for Toronto to Tel Aviv and was rerouted to London and then Frankfurt but the plane was late getting there as well. Air canada had no crew on the ground and over and hour wait for customer service on the phone so i had no way to find out what my reticketing status was. I was passed off to numerous other airlines and sent through the airport to the incorrect terminals in heathrow causing another missed flight. Air canada did not accept the responsibility to maintain my reservation and get me to my destination efficiently. Even when I spoke with a phone representative the person was rude and never sent confirmation of my flights so I had no reference point for flight numbers or air lines. All of his added up to more than 13 hours of delays on what was already a 24 hour trip. Worst travel experience of my life."
Cons: "My flight was at 6 am and I fell ill with strep throat the morning of. I had not gotten flight cancellation insurance so I had no choice but to board the flight while feeling sick. The illness got rapidly worse and before I knew it I had a fever and was nauseous and dizzy and was overall feeling terrible. For the first half of the flight I tried to sit through it, but it became too much as I was squished into a middle seat and was overheating extremely due to the fever and started to get overwhelmed and felt claustrophobic. At this point I decided that I could not wait out the rest of the flight in this middle seat so I went to talk to the flight attendants to ask to be moved to a seat with more space. Now, I had not slept at all the night before (because I had to take the bus to the airport at 2 am) and felt very overwhelmed with being so sick and so when I went to talk to the flight attendant I started to cry and told them I was feeling claustrophobic and wished to be moved to a seat with more space because I was very ill. I emphasized that I was sick and had to repeat this many times, but the flight attendants seemed to think I was having an anxiety episode even though I repeated many times that I was very sick. It took them HALF AN HOUR to find me a new seat. I spent this time standing while I felt extremely dizzy like I was going to pass out. I feel the situation was handled very poorly. Two of your flight attendants started trying to counsel me on anxiety and seemed to completely disregard the fact that I was extremely ill and that was causing me to feel claustrophobic (to put things in perspective, I spent the next 3 days unable to move from my dads couch, unable to eat anything, and had to be taken to the hospital because I could not even drink water). The illness started right before I was getting on the plane and at the time of boarding I had no idea how quickly it would get so bad. As an example of how poorly this was handled, one of the flight attendants handed me a pen and told me to "name my anxiety, and why I was feeling anxious and to write reasons that this may make me feel anxious" it was ridiculous. Here I was, about to pass out I was so dizzy and it took them half an hour to find me a new seat (I understand that the flight was very full but there were empty seats available). I kept repeating, I feel dizzy, I feel nauseous, I'm very sick, I need to sit down, please find me a seat and they spent half an hour trying to give me a therapy session on anxiety. I am extremely unhappy with this experience and feel like it was dealt with terribly by the staff on board. When a customer says I'm very ill with a fever and it's causing them to feel claustrophobic and they need to be moved to a seat with more room, the staff should not spend half an hour trying to counsel them on anxiety while the customer is standing there about to pass out. This experience made me feel like I wish to avoid traveling with Air Canada in the future."
Cons: "They charge us extra $140. Which they not supposed to. Your flight experience is very good. But airport experience was very Bad If possible please return our money which you taken On airport. Aircoditionar at thermal was bad too. They keep us (all passengers)stand around 30 min in that condition."
Pros: "The crew on the flights was great over all but everyone else that we encountered seemed confused, rude, and/or uninterested in helping anyone."
Cons: "Multiple times on the trip we were told one thing only to be told the complete opposite by someone else a short time later. No two teams seemed to have any clue what the other was doing and there seemed to be no overarching strategy or systems in place company wide. We have flown with a baby many times on my airlines and this time was by far the worst- they do not seem like a family friendly airline at all."
Cons: "We took off 1 hour 15 min later"
Pros: "The ease of boarding the plane and the crew wa attentive and pleasant."
Cons: "Food was not great, but was edible. Leg room was not as good on the long flight as the shorter connector."
Pros: "The Embraer jet was newer and roomier. Nice to have a movie"
Cons: "Nothing"
Pros: "The leg room in basic economy was great -- especially compared to other airlines. In seat entertainment was free."
Cons: "No complimentary snack on a five-hour flight. Food was available for fee. Entertainment movie/TV programming was limited (not live television)."
Pros: "Great timing of flights to arrive in afternoon. Also liked flying on the 787. Service was great as there was always someone checking to see that you were comfortable."
Pros: "plenty of room, media player, wifi, nice selection of snacks and meals."
Pros: "Departure was orderly and staff interactions good"
Cons: "My bag was delayed and I end up paying to buy a pant from sports chek and now when I am trying to connect with Air Canada flight to make a claim, they are not even responding to my request."
Cons: "Employees seemed somewhat disorganized. There was not enough space in front of counter for people and there luggage. I ticketing agent would yell from far down the counter "Next...Next!) and finally walk closer so people in line could see/hear them. Then, often that next customer could not get to the counter in front of the agent because of the pillars and other people were blocking them. The space was too cramped. At boarding, Instructions over the loudspeaker were not clear and the video screens contained incorrect information about boarding. At one point the agent came out and yelled at everyone to "get out of line!, we are not boarding yet". I have never seen this process handled so poorly and I fly quite a bit."
Cons: "Food, no leg space."
Pros: "Video screen in seat back so I could watch movies"
Cons: "I forced to check my carry on bag despite the fact that there was room in overhead compartments. Consequently my bag was damaged when loaded onto plane, or when unloaded onto baggage carousel. Disorganized loading of passengers onto plane."
Pros: "I received an overall warm treatment from the staff and the flight wasnt delayed therefore I made it to NYC right on time for my appointment :) Thanks Air Canada!"
Cons: "This flight and my next connecting one (also Air Canada) were both delayed by 45 minutes each. That's an hour and a half of wasted time. Thankfully, I just assumed there would be a delay so I booked a later connection in advance. The weather was perfect and there was no explanation on either flight as the why we were almost an hour delayed. I'm expected to arrive 2 hours in advance of a flight. Why is it so hard for this airline to be on time?"
Pros: "The service was timely ,the flight was smooth, great views of NYC and also fast"
Cons: "Entertainment system and USB charging port were not functional. The crew did try to re-set the system but no luck."
Pros: "This was my first time using Air Canada and I was so excited after seeing all of the wonderful photos of this luxurious aircraft! Upon boarding, I sat patiently as I waited for my boarding group (3) to be called. Once my group was called up, i waited in line next to board while to the right of the line therw was an inpatient mob of group 4's & 5's eagerly waiting to board. The announcement of group 4 and 5 boarding sent the mob into a frenzy and they shoved their way in front of all of us group 3's knocking me down. The Air Canada staff did not assist nor did they do anything to regulate groups and ensure everyone's safety. I have never been more disappointed in an airline. Im fine now in case anyone cares."

Pros: "I love Air Canada's willingness to change my flight at the last minute since there was room on the plane. It was great to get home earlier than I expected."
Pros: "Cabin was clean and got seats I wanted."
Cons: "The entertainment system failed so no movies or any media entire flight"
Pros: "Staff was very nice"
Cons: "I always enjoy flying Porter Airlines because they give you one drink and a small snack for free. For a 5 hour flight I was surprised there wasn't anything complimentary.."
Cons: "It's hard to believe, but Air Canada did not offer wifi on our international - 9 hour - flight. I had intended to work and my daughter intended to do her homework and entertain herself online. They may have advertised no wifi, but I missed it. Additionally, our outbound and inbound planes were grounded for more than 30 minutes due to mechanical issues. It might be time for Air Canada to upgrade its international fleet!"
Cons: "Horrible to say the least"
Cons: "There was no complimentary checked luggage. Not impressed because usually this is only done by the cheap budget airlines not a national airline."
Cons: "The flight to Frankfurt was an hour late, so my bags didn't make the next flight to Warsaw"
Pros: "Everything on the international flight was great."
Cons: "Toronto to SLC was horrible. You have to pay extra for everything, even blankets."
Pros: "Boarding of children at the beginning of boarding operations. Double thumbs up."
Cons: "At 2 hours into the flight I was most of the way through a movie. The crew then announced that some passengers were unable to view the entertainment system so they were resetting the entire system. Crew said passengers would be able to resume watching entertainment at the point they left off. Needless to say this was not the case. The entertainment system never got reset properly and did not function for the rest of the 4+ hour flight."
Cons: "Their choice of movies are exactly the same as my first flight from Hong Kong to Vancouver. Does it offer the same things for the other longer flights too? This is outrageous: you have to pay for the headphone."
Pros: "Flight arrived 30 minutes early!"
Pros: "Seated in business class"
Cons: "No notification of cancelled flights. Inaccurate information provided at airport. Entire flight told to go home and return next day.waited on phone for customer service for 1 hr and in line at airport for 1 1/2 hrs. Eventually flights took off and successfully travelled standby contrary to agents instructions."
Cons: "Long wait in the narrow terminals - no seats, hot"
Pros: "Nothing to expect more"
Cons: "The amount of snacks served should be increased"
Cons: "Misinformation on baggage allowance for Tango flights."
Cons: "Flight was delayed 2 hours"
Pros: "Love the free coffee dispenser in the aiport! Staff very friendly and helpful."
Cons: "Left a few min late"
Cons: "The Toronto airport was ill-equipped for an international transfer. I barely made it despite a 90 minute layover. Air Canada was OK, not great."
Cons: "Did not fly Air Canada from Phoenix to Toronto; flew much cheaper version "Rouge". Flight was delayed more than 40 minutes in Phoenix while cargo rearranged, making us late for connection in Toronto (1.5 hour layover initially). Stewardess told us we could make flight if we ran through airport, but when we got to the gate, we were told that we had been rescheduled on another flight 2 days later! Crew on flight did not tell us this. We did manage to get another flight to Frankfurt 2 hours later on Air Canada, then to Barcelona on Lufthansa, arriving 8 hours later than originally scheduled. Rouge flight had fewer amenities than Southwest and less legroom. Did not know what were getting when booked flight -Will never fly Rouge again!"
Cons: "gate was changed without an announcement flight was twice delayed"
Pros: "Two bags plus a carry-on."
Pros: "On time. Very friendly crew."
Cons: "I'm 6'3" and I was quote cramped. Smaller people it won't matter as much."
Pros: "Upgrade to business & crew"
Cons: "Crew must learn French! Announcements were again incomprehensible."
Pros: "The complimentary snack"
Cons: "That my seats were not together"
